Every Spring, we get the perimeter of our house treated by Pest Detective, Victoria so as to stop carpenter ants from entering the house. Their service includes a follow up treatment in the Fall. It is by way of insurance for us. When we first moved in about 20 years ago carpenter ants had destroyed all of the wooden deck rails, which had to be replaced. Subsequent years we noticed their presence inside the house, which suggested they were ready to attack the wood structure. Hence the insurance against that happening.

Other than the insects being back and feeling like we were mislead in to believing there would be a second touch up visit it was alright. Make sure you understand what this companies "touch up visit within 90days" means. We believed the service rep said they would be coming back to "touch up" in 90 days. When we didn't hear back from them, I called to find out what we should do as we they hadn't been back. We assumed, incorrectly, that CoVID was likely postponing it and so we were being patient. If you go with this company make sure you know that it's you that has to call within 90 days for the "touch up" visit. Make sure that as soon as you see an insect call them, as you will most likely need them to come back. I presume other companies will have similar "rules" just make sure you have them in writing. We also never received our receipt from the first visit, it was supposed to be emailed but it never arrived - we didn't think it was a big deal until now. I suspect the receipt would have mentioned the 90 day caveat more clearly and we would have understood our role in activating the second visit better.... And we definitely would have called within the 90 days as we did see the insects again within that timeframe. They just mentioned that they were still allowed to work and enter people homes during the CoVID shutdown. As disappointing as this has been I am glad they were still employed.

We have used pest detective this past week. Ants have been coming into our home since the weather has been getting warmer; Wife certainly not amused, kids put off and cat confused. Adrian had arrived the next day and provided an estimate based on observations made. He explained three levels of treatment and what each would accomplish. He was very professional and courteous. The cost was very reasonable so we decided to go ahead. Within the week the job was done and done very well. We would recommend them to neighbors and friends. We called Pest Detective to have the perimeter of our home treated to deter ants. The courteous crew of two arrived on time and spent about 4 hours completing the work. The scope of work was reviewed and our questions were helpfully answered. The treatment appears to be thoroughly applied. We wont know for a few weeks, when the weather gets warmer, whether the treatment was effective but we have the assurance that the job comes with a warranty. We recommend Pest Detective without reservation.

Unlike most companies, he recommended the option that was best for us, not just the most expensive option. Was scheduled for 10:30, Eddie arrived early and actually helped me clean out some drawers that I didn't know needed doing. He then proceeded to take extra care on the outside of the property (probably because I told him how deathly scared of spiders my wife is). Normally when someone calls for this service they're here for no more than 30mins. Eddie spent in excess of an hour making sure everything was done properly. I WILL definitely continue using Pest Detective. Very happy!

The company was very helpful in answering my questions with the initial phone call. They booked a time to come to our home within 2 days of my call and Adrian arrived promptly at the scheduled time. My questions were answered and he got to work quickly. The only thing I noticed was that there were still some wet patches on the floor when we came back after the allotted timeframe, but otherwise everything went smoothly! And so far, the issue seems to be resolved. A happy customer and I would definitely recommend the services of Pest Detective!
