The smaller size of this home Depot means that you won't find the same variety of in stock items. However, you can do online ordering with free pickup here, often overnight. Pricing is standard for Home Depot, competitive but keep an eye out for sales. The quality of professional advice can really range from poor to excellent depending on staff on duty. I have had days where I couldn't find any help and others where there were several offers of assistance. This particular visit was very busy but checkout was efficient and everything I needed was in stock.

I was putting a new 220v plug in my garage and couldn't figure it out. Miles at the Westmount Home Depot assisted me. He counseled me in store and answering the phone, and screening pictures of four(4) service panels. Miles quickly determined that the reason I had lost my 220volt capability in my garage was because the Master Electrician I hired to put in a new service in my house 12 years before had put the breaker on the wrong slot. MILES saves me a lot of money and time, and made me want to shop at Westmount Home Depot. Thank you. ????????

Ordered online and used curbside pickup. Overall the process was easy and pleasant except having to wait 20 minutes after arriving for my purchase to be brought out to my car, especially since I was the only curbside pickup at the time. Previous in-store shopping has been good except the floor staff are often over eager to "help" and it feels like they are hovering. This make the shopping less than ideal for me. When I need help, I rather go ask someone than have them watching my every move.

How is it that this store (north bay location) knew it was open on Friday June 11th for in-store shopping and still did not have enough staff to cover curb side pick up for customers who have made orders days prior to the store opening. Was actually told today that they could not tell me when the order would be ready and when I said I wanted to cancel it, because it was taking so long, the staff member got short with me. This is not the first time we have had an experience with this store and staff members just not caring or being ignorant. And also I was astounded by the fact that your staff would let a 300$ Online purchase be canceled without trying to fix the problem. I thought keeping a customers business was the name of the game here. Next time I’ll order from Sudbury and have it delivered to my home.

Such a disappointment with trying to receive new flooring. Ordered and paid for carpets for my stairs in Sept. Installer arrived mid Nov and tore up my carpets but could not replace b/c the carpet was the wrong size. It is now Jan. 2020 and still no communication about when I will get my carpet. Stairs have nails sticking out and pieces of underlay that have tripped me and my family on the way up and down the stairs. It is a safety hazard and looks terrible. Had to cancel xmas gathering at my house due to this fiasco. Luxury vinyl was ordered and paid for the same day in Sept. No communication about when this will be installed. Dreadful service. The WORST shopping experience EVER. Not even worth 1 star. Whatever you do, DO NOT use curbside pick up from Home Depot. Orders take way too long. (It took me over 7 hours for someone from Home Depot to tell me that all I need in my new Ryobi battery operated glue gun was the generic glue sticks that we should purchase from a local craft store.) Do yourself a favor and shop at Home Hardware who are set up the proper way for curb side.

Home Depot has a really nice selection of garden plants, flowers, planters, baskets and lawn care products like fertilizers and weed killers. Prices are competitive. This is a dangerous place for me: it's like a toy store, and I can't walk in without buying something! This is where I bought most of the materials I've needed for various renos and projects around the house. I appreciate being able to pick out my own wood in the clearly-lit, well organized aisles. Great staff (mostly)! There's one standout guy in flooring who gave me enough really good advice to very successfully do two rooms of ceramic tile. Conversely, there is one extremely rude lady in customer service though (short dark hair), who is combative and confrontational, despite the fact that her colleagues and supervisor are always willing to help! Otherwise Home Depot Cornwall would get a 5 star.

Do not shop here if worried about Covid 19. I ordered 1 item online for curbside pickup. Got email saying would be ready shortly. Drove 45mins and item/order was not ready. Customer Service was unwilling to grab the one item as other orders were before mine. She offered to cancel order and for me to come inside and buy the item. This is the easiest place to get home improvement supplies. I use the app and all you do is pick the location you prefer and it tells you exactly where the item you are looking for is located in store. I am always asked if i want help when in the plumbing isle and i always end up with the guy that thinks he knows plumbing trying to tell me how to do something when they dont have the parts i need to do the job. As a journeyman plumber i know exactly what i need to do the job and how to make what i need when the parts i need are not avaliable and i have something else i dont need available. after i curse under my breath about why i am paying 10 times more for something in home depot because my supplier isnt open on a long weekend i have to deal with a guy trying to tell me how to do something that he doesnt know how to do and then has the nerve to tell me im doing it wrong and to use parts that are not legal to use within the city limits. after wasting time i go to Rona or Co-op which usually has the parts on the shelf i require

I went into Home Depot looking for a square cover for a plug. That was in aisle 10. I wanted to put a foam square under it because although it's inside, the cold comes through. That was in aisle 20 under Roofing and insulation. Marketers and plannagrams aside, don't these people ever use common sense when planning our better still, ask the customer. The insulators for wall switches and plugs should be with the wall switches and plugs, in my opinion. If they think my wandering the store to find them, they're wrong. I'm more likely to leave.

I was looking for 1" X 4" X 72" pine. The two boards on the shelf were bowed worse than a dog's hind leg. It was then a sales associate (Josh?) approached me and asked if I needed help. Explain to him what I needed, he suggested a different wood. I had a look at the wood he suggested and decided that that would work fine. He then cut the wood for me as he said they had free cutting at this time. Instead of leaving the store empty-handed, I left the store more than happy!

The rental department is mostly good, beware of the following: They will add tool insurance on top of the rental price (Other tool rental places in R.D. do not) I got hit with a ~$30 insurance charge on a $100 rental. Also make sure the tool rented is fit for service. I rented a concrete grinder and the dust skirt was 1/2" too short. This results in dust blowing everywhere even if the vacuum is connected correctly. They also have technical issues adding your rental onto your Pro card. I'd suggest getting a print out of your rental agreement, and reading it before you leave to ensure they did not add insurance.

Home depot and I have a love/hate relationship. I love the convenience of the things they carry, which are many. I hate the inflation of cost on most things and lack of skilled employees, altho it's not that there aren't good ones working there. I find many items to be 3 or 4 (or more) times what they used to be at smaller home improvement stores that the monsters put out of business. You really have to be careful on most things because of this disgusting over inflation. I have also found that Lowes is no better and in many cases even MORE expensive, believe it or now... so yes they are convenient, but it comes and the cost of your first born child lol. Home Depot has really competitive pricing, check online before you buy at just any hardware store. That being said, some of the smaller household items are expensive compared to other stores. Home Depot offers do not pay for 18 months, no interest which is great if you have a Home Depot credit card. Make sure you pay every month, at least the minimum or they will charge you interest. I have always paid every month when take part of the do not pay offer and made sure to pay the balance before the 18 months and have never had an issue. Staff is helpful, not always well informed though. This is a store I frequent.

Not only did they not take the old appliance, the staff at the store was ride, unhelpful and unprofessional when I asked for assistance. I had to call the 1800 number to get service. Well into retirement, I have dealt with lot of stores ~ all over. I feel well qualified to know something about CUSTOMER SERVICE. I must say, I have NEVER experienced such exceptional Customer Service as I have in THIS STORE. I bought some flooring some time ago and 'finally-got-around-to-it' to actually lay it down. 3/4-done and I discover I am going to be short just a dew items so, off I go to get another box; only to discover ~ That item is sold out, discontinued and no longer available. The person in the flooring business gave me the cold-shoulder and told me: "It is what it is, sorry !" Not satisfied, I went to Customer Service where my story got th entire crew into full-swing. They called EVERY store in Nova Scotia, Atlantic Canada and persuaded each store to not just go by their computer records but to actually go on the floor and physically check. All called back negatively ~ EXCEPT for Moncton, NB Needless to say, early this morning I drove to Moncton-and-back ans have my extra. Not only did the customer service crew in Halifax go -way-way-way beyond what could be reasonably be expected but, even the manager got involved and even offered me an incentive to ease the pain of a six-hour round-trip, just to finish my floor. Halifax - Home Depot - Thank You ~ Thank YOU ~ THANK YOU ! !

Honestly when I come to home Depot I expect Job lot quantities to be a guarantee. This has not been the case and my past few trips for large amounts of lumber. I constantly have to pick through scraps and when I ask employees for a fresh restock of a certain pile I have not one, not twice but three times been told (on seperate occasions) that this is all they have in stock in the entire store. Other than this major issue the staff is usually friendly and helpful as they can be. I was disappointed when they offered zero solutions to the stock issue or any sort of accomodation to keep myself the customer happy. Anyway nothing I can do but write this review. I have never had this problem when I lived in Ontario and shopped for materials at the home Depot locations there. Pretty disappointed.

The submission received contained many errors and omissions. The person we saw never took the trouble to check and calculate with us the right amount of materials, in addition to poorly note the list we had brought. So we had to book a truck to pick up the missing materials (and despite the fact that we had called the day before to book the truck, they had not taken anything down, so we did not have our booked truck and they had also promised someone else, and this person was not folded in their reservation system). In addition, the day before the delivery, we received a telephone to inform us that they did not have some of the items that we had already paid and ordered. So we had, in the morning renovations, do business with another hardware store. And finally, we realized that the vast majority of their materials were much more expensive than elsewhere. De plus, la veille de la livraison, nous avons reçu un téléphone pour nous aviser qu'ils n'avaient pas certains des articles que nous avions déjà payés et commandés. Nous avons donc dû, le matin des rénos, faire affaire avec une autre quincaillerie. Et, finalement, nous nous sommes rendus compte que la grande majorité de leurs matériaux étaient beaucoup plus chers qu'ailleurs. Sérieusement, première et dernière fois que nous faisons affaire avec eux.

Went to St. Albert Home Depot and got excellent service. I needed to buy smoke detectors and a gas detector meter. A young guy asked if I needed help and I said yes. When I told him what I needed, he said he wasn't an expert in the smoke alarm department but he got someone from the electrical dept.to help me. Half assed service, most folks working there have not got a clue what they are there for. Warm bodies is about it. Better off to have your smart phone with you to dig into specific details of a product one may be unsure of. Home Depot needs experience- folks that have done hands on things. What I see is a mixture of youth more interested in hiding in the back yapping it up with another younger employee. If your disabled in any way good luck on getting assistance in getting what you need on a cart and loaded. What ever happened to HOME HARDWARE!! Might be a smaller Corp but service was always exceptional with knowledge and with a will and desire to assist in answers or some muscle to get things out the door!! Some say BIGGER is better! I would not recommend Home Depot for that or anything else as a matter of fact. CRIPES GET WITH THE PROGRAM HOME DEPOT!! Maybe hire someone that knows how to screen new or existing employee's!! Even Canadian tire has you beat hands down on knowledge of products and assistance!!

It's a home depot, the same as every other home depot. I prefer not to shop there, but will stop in for sales on things that I want, or if no one else in town has the item. I prefer Crappy Tire for tools, Rona for furniture stain and bulk wood, Windsor Plywood for cabinet-wood, flooring, doors, etc, any of the local greenhouses for landscape stuff. But sometimes ya just can't get something, and that's when HD comes in handy.

I find the store very well laid out, and easy to find what I was looking for. The danger was that I was able to find other things that I didn't need, but really wanted. The tool selection was pretty good, and the person covering tools was able to answer my questions about router bits. The only let down was the cashier was more interested in taking to the other cashier than me. I find it hard to do these reviews when I get great customer service and horrible in the same visit. Consider the self checkout, at least when it doesn't talk to you, you expect it.

Just moved to Saint John from Onterrible, and the legends are true! Everyone on the East Coast is incredibly nice & helpful! This certainly includes 'Scott' from Home Depot who knew we were on a budget and actually offered a generous discount to help us out! Got our brand new 170cc lawn mower, and heavy duty whipper snipper with two 10L gas cans, 10w-30 oil, +mix oil for snipper, and a roll of snipper whips for under 600 bucks (thanks to the discount Scott offered!) Very friendly people, all practising the utmost best Covid-19 precautions in a very noticeable & impressive way. Will be returning again!

Just shopping in the garden section today. Extremely well organized and very clean. Staff was incredibly helpful and came to ask if I needed help finding anything (rare these days) Plants looked really well cared for, but the ones that didn't look as good was on discount. Great sale items and good regular prices. I noted a bird nest that staff had put up "do not disturb" signs. I really appreciated that they work with our bird friends, and sacrificed the items as "not for sale. Good on you all that did that! Thanks to the garden staff for making my visit today, over and above, a nice afternoon. Much appreciated. I will be back.

Went into home depot tonight looking to price out a washer and dryer. We were looking for a couple of minute when Kevin from appliances came over to ask if we needed help. I pretty much asked him every question possible about every machine (i did my research coming in) and he was on his toes! Kevin was knowledgeable, personable, witty and so much fun to deal with. He gave us a recommendation for an LG machine and we purchased it immediately. He pretty much gave us a lesson on how to use our new machine, including tips and tricks to make it last. Kevin is an exemplary employee who deserves a pat on the back. We shook his hand upon leaving and will not purchase appliance from any other sales person for as long as Kevin is still around. He is the reason why people are loyal customers and should be recognized for his commitment to quality service. Home Depot should be proud to have him!

I want to start by saying I have always thought service was good enough to shop at this store despite what others say about the service there. We went in to get some painting supplies and a cordless sander. I only use ridgid tools so every single ridgid tool I have has be bought at this store. I found the cordless sander and the promotion was that you get a free battery and charger. I didn't see any of them around the tool area and after a few minutes of looking for an employee I finally got someone to help me. I explained what I was needing and he then told me that there were no more of the kits left so if I wanted a battery I would have to purchase one. I went into the store because when you buy this tool you get a battery and charger free( $149 value). Not to buy the tool and then buy a battery their website was giving for free. The person helping me explained that he had dealt with this same situation and there was nothing that can be done. He then took me over to the tool section to show me batteries that were $35 each and why that would be better value then getting the free on that is promised on their website. He then told me to go purchase them online when I'm already in the store and get them shipped, again no solution being given. He even showed me ridgid tools on the website and said the offer isn't up anymore so I pulled my phone out and showed him the tool and it was right there. At this point I have the sander, two packs of discs and a $50 dewalt hammer so just under $200 I want to spend. I ask the gentleman to call the manager and wait 10 minutes and nobody came. At this point nobody has offered any type of solution for me. The home depot employee said other things can't be substituted because ridgid's promotion. So in the end I bought nothing and don't plan on returning. Not at one point was I offered any solution other then too bad or its ridgid's fault and no manager came to deal with the situation. CUSTOMER SERVICE FAIL
