More than just a hardware store, they have small appliances, kitchen wares, knick-knacks, garden/patio decorations, even birthday cards. It's a great place to browse and find one-of-a kind items, along with your nails and sandpaper. Friendly, helpful service, and overall decently priced items.

Drove for 20 mins to get there for a last minute item that I needed badly and the decided to close 15 minutes earlier than their posted hours, not the first time either. Either follow your Hou’s or don’t post them at all and keep us guessing. I try and support small local business, but it’s hard when they are poorly run.

I went in and needed help finding stove pipe and then with separating the multiple pipes that were wrapped together. Very good customer service. The fellow even brought the item out to car for me. Rick from the other store in chilliwack was great too..it sseems likee customer service is a thing of the past, but not here!

My family visited this nice store while on vacation. We found some items that we needed while camping. This was a smaller, older store. So it did not have a huge selection. But we found what we needed and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend visiting if you are in the area.

May 2020 no hand sanitizer for customer use. No signs for distancing. Just plexiglass for cashiers and a bit of tape on the floor. Normally a good hardware store, but a letdown during pandemic. O stars for management.

I really want to like and support this business but the customer service is appalling every single time I have shopped, which are countless when you're doing home renovations. The sales floor help is non existent and the front cashier experience is a crusty one. Literally the last impression people have when they leave is of a miserable human that dislikes their job and people. No thank you.

I don't find that the two home hardware in Chilliwack really have much related to the weekly flyer. The one on airport road is worse then the one in Sardis. I understand that they are independently owned and as a result can carry what they want... Which maybe they only have to carry a small amount of items related to the weekly flyer. It's very disappointing. I have been to one in Kelowna by Rona and it seemed to be really stocked up and the same with the one in West Kelowna.

I've been a customer of Fortins for over a decade. They've always been my 'go to' hardware store as they are near my home and the service has always been great with friendly staff that have always gone the extra mile to be helpful. As a business owner myself I've always appreciated their model. Even if they are a bit more expensive than some of the big national chains I felt it was worth it just for the shopping experience. I went down yesterday to pick up a few small items for the house. I can't mask for medical reasons and when I walked in (like I always do without a mask) I was greeted by friendly staff as per usual. I shopped around for a few minutes and grabbed the items I needed and took them to the till. The lady at the till told me I needed to wear a mask. I informed her (politely because I hear it all the time and it doesn't bother me) I had a medical exemption and that I was carrying a doctors note in my wallet in case it was an issue. She informed me that she could not sell the items to me if I wasn't masked. I asked her if she was serious to which she replied "our owner does not honor medical exemptions and If I sell you these items he will fire me". I told her that was insane. She agreed and requested that I take it up with her boss. I left the items I came for at the counter and quietly left. What happened to me was akin to allowing someone in a wheelchair into the store, allowing them to shop around and then when they got to the till informing them that because they couldn't stand that they would not be able to purchase the items they'd grabbed. The worst part of Covid hasn't been the disease itself but rather what it has done to people's sense of decency. Our society is turning into a 'them and us' place where if you don't fit in you don't belong. I'm ok with not belonging in big corporate chains where you're just a number but it's sad to see smaller businesses adopt the same inhuman stance. At any rate, to say I'm disappointed that a place that normally treats its neighbors well did this to me is a bit of an understatement. I don't think I'll be going back. And that's a shame.

Great selection, helpful staff. One thing this area desperately needs is a bike rack for cyclist customers. You would think as a hardware store they would have all the parts necessary to put one out, but there are no bike racks within safe distance to shop. Please fix this!
