We found Carpenter ants in the roof of our sunroom this summer so we called City and Country Pest control. Horatio was quick to respond to our call and we had an appointment booked for a week later. Horatio was on time, very friendly and he really took care so that the chemicals didn't get near our fish pond. Due the the construction and the material of the roof the first treatment didn't get them all the first time but Horatio came right back out and sprayed again and we have seen no sign of them since. Speaking with Horacio over the phone, he explained clearly what steps he would be taking to help us with our pest issue. Day of arrival, he listened while I explained where we heard noises and had sightings of the squirrel. After taking a look around, we found a hole where (surprise) a raccoon had made its home as well as a hole for a family of squirrels. Not only did Horacio set-up the one-way doors, but he patched up areas that would be future problems for us! Thanks for you attentiveness and knowledge you provided during your visit. ????????

Dealt with City and Country specifically Horacio. He answered my call and I described, to the best of my abilities, what I thought were rodents or termites in my wall making an unpleasant noise which eventually trued out to be a wasps nest after an inspection by Horacio. He came with in an hour after calling him (lucky for me as he was in my area), he explained the issue, what treatment will be used and post-treatment. Horacio was courteous and forth-right. Explained why nests develop and how long they are active for plus advised on preventative measures. I would highly recommend City and Country and if you get Horacio, you're in good hands!

Horrible Horrible Horrible Service. The person who came to perform the treatment didn't even examin that what level of treatment is needed. Without even assessing the level of problem he started doing the gel treatment and quickly started to get out, I said, we need the spray treatment but he didn't performed it putting it on us tenants that since we can't leave the house right away he won't do it. NO WHERE IN THEIR POLICY DOCUMENT IS MENTIONED THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO LEAVE THE PREMISES DURING THE TREATMENT. This is just their way of making money by not doing the proper treatment at the first go so that people are frustrated and call them back again. Really really terrible customer service. Customers have the right to know what is the level of assessment they performed before doing the pest control and type of pest treatment that is needed. In the end, the guy said "you are a tenant, you won't have to pay anyway'. The management has to pay for it ! It is definitely not about the pay, it is about the level of pest problem we have at our place. Really really poor work ethics. I wish I can go to the consumer court to really share my experience. If anyone reads it please let me know what is the best way to complaint about this unprofessional behavior.

We came home from a weeklong vacation to discover our living room was bruised up by a live squirrel. We locked it in a bedroom and called Horacio, who was quick to respond (I should note it was 2:15 am on Friday). He was over within half an hour, captured the squirrel and safely relocated it to a safe area outside the city. My mother had a stubborn tenant that refused to pay rent or clean up after himself. He'd disappear at nights and slept all day. She was getting tired of him not helping out around the house and decided it was time to seek assistance. Horacio arrived and was able to trap the little guy. He reassured my mother (who had grown attached to her newest addition) that since he wasn't a threat he'd be released into the wild at a far enough distance to discourage retuning. This review is long overdue. I originally used another pest control that could not fix the problem. After 6 months, the problem still exist and they returned my money. It was then that I spoke to Horacio at City and Country. Right away, he found the problem area and advised why the other company could not fix the pest issue. The house was 95% better two weeks after Horacio left. We addressed the issue that Horacio said would be an issue and haven't had an incident yet. That was 2 years ago! I recommend Horacio and City and Country to anyone I know. Even to people I don't!

Any five star reviews are paid for by friends. I find it awfully convenient that for every 1 star review, there’s a five star shortly after. I paid them $300 for our mouse problem which turned out to be a squirrel problem as well. We anticipated it was something larger, but we were seeing mouse droppings. The employee took my word for it and set the mouse traps. They didn’t cover up any holes or take the time to get on the roof to see what the underlying issues could be or if it could be more than mice. They told me to call in February if I still had issues which I just did and I was completely undermined by the rude owner. Asked why I was taking so long to call back. I was told they treated for the initial problem and I am to pay another $400 to treat the squirrel problem now. A complete money grab. He gave me a price 30 seconds into this last conversation AGAIN taking my word for it without even coming to visit. Again not checking the house or seeing the issue, yet he knew the exact price and how many visits it would take. For this company to listen to the customer as to what they think the problem is without further investigation and then blame the customer for being wrong and demanding more money is a joke. I could have bought the traps myself at Canadian Tire and be in the same position but at least I would still have the $300 in my pocket. I will be looking elsewhere for someone to help me and you should as well. Reputation is everything and I will make sure to let my neighbours know who to avoid.

They were fantastic from start to finish. We had very persistent squirrels who came into our eaves and ceiling by chewing through the vents in our roof. After the first visit the squirrels remained. Each time we called the company to say that the squirrels were still there they promptly sent someone out to investigate. They made several service calls because the raccoons were not very cooperative and were hiding in the soffits. They noticed an issue on the roof and did additional work without our asking them. Worst service ever ,not recommend to any one waste of your money , never trust them they only want to make money. Use less people. Note - nothing was explain before treatment that it require more visit and you only explain after one month when I called to confirm that issue is not resolve. A few months ago we called City and Country Pest Control to help us with what we thought was a squirrel in the wall of our Office. The Service Supervisor Brad was here promptly. His guess was it was a bird and he was right. He managed to save the bird and seal up where he was entering. He cleaned up his mess and the mess from the bird and was very friendly and kind. My landlord contracted this company to spray the storefront below my unit today. I was awoken around noon to an odd smell that just kept getting worse. It made me nauseous to a point where I couldn't ignore it and had to get out of bed. I woke up and saw their vehicle parked in our rear lot, and it clicked "this is roach spray". I have lived in many highrises before and know the smell well. I called the company to ask how long humans and pets should be vacant from a unit when being sprayed, and she said roughly 3 hours. Needless to say, I was not impressed that my landlord did not notify us what was going on, despite the fact that he knows all scents and fumes travel between units as if there is nothing in between. I packed my cats into their carriers and placed them next to open windows in the hopes that they would not ingest too much of the fumes, but now I was getting a headache, and continued to become more and more nauseous. I called the company back to ask what effects were from being exposed to this stuff. She wasn't able to answer me, but took my information and said the technician would call me back. After a few minutes, Horatio called me. He was not the technician on site, but I guess one of the head guys for the company. He said that they were doing a crack spray in the basement, and there should be no fumes at all. I asked if it could be coming up from the furnace, but he assured me it shouldn't be possible, as the spray they were using "has no fumes". He also said that he was under the impression the unit was vacant. Although I'm not sure why that matters if there are no fumes. I told him it was clearly not vacant, as there were people in the storefront and we had been living above the store since summer. He started on a tirade about how they've been in business for 30 years and are professionals. I never accused him of such, and I'm not sure what that has to do with them having incorrect information, but okay. After a few more minutes, the actual technician on site call me. That technician spoke a different tune. He said that the landlord didn't tell him that anyone lived up here, that he thought it was vacant, and that he shouldn't be spraying if people were present. He apologised several times, and said he'd call the landlord to tell him that they need proper notice to all people in the building next time. Horatio called me back shortly after that, saying that he was under the impression that we were directly above the basement. I'm not sure why he thought this, as I told him we were the apartment above the storefront when he first called. He said that the fact that we were the apartment above the store front meant it was "impossible" to smell fumes 2 floors up. He then said "If you're smelling aromas you feel you shouldn't, go for a walk for an hour." About 15 minutes later I went to release my cats from their carriers, as they were stressed to an unfair point and I couldn't do that to them anymore. While doing that, I walked past one of my floor registers. Lo and behold, that's where the smell was coming from. I walked toward my bedroom to check that register and the smell was strong both in my bedroom register, but also at the return air vent for the furnace. So now I have turned off my furnace and closed all my registers, with all my windows open, in the middle of January. It has been an hour and a half since I was woken up by this smell. Windows and doors have been open for about an hour, and the furnace has been off with the registers closed for about 45 minutes. The smell is still present through the whole unit, and still strong near furnace access points. At this point, I've either been flat-out lied to about the product, or someone screwed up and applied the wrong product. Update: It's now been 2+ hours with windows open and furnace off. Smell was almost gone. Turned on the furnace again and the smell started coming up again. Meaning someone hit the furnace or furnace system with the spray. The lack of accountability, and the gaslighting, in response to this is disgusting.

Called the company last fall with a bat problem and spoke with service technician, Brad - he was friendly and most helpful - he was as concerned about the welfare of the bats as we were and explained in detail why the timing was bad - suggested we call back this April - he came today and was able to determine that the bats are not in the house, just roosting outside in a sheltered area near a window light at night - explained everything fully, so pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient - no charge. Will be recommending this company.

It gives me great pleasure to share with you my experience which is as recent as 13th April 2020, when Mr. Horacio and I had a phone conversation about a racoon on our roof, and later he, Mr. Horacio, came over to my house to collect payment in advance. Mr. Horacio very kindly came to my house a second time on 17th April when he heard for himself the sound emanating from the ceiling of our living room. Mr. Horacio suggested fitting a one-way trap door on the eavestrough saying , the trap door would enable the racoon to leave but not return. Rightfully so, our neighbor saw the racoon on our roof, this morning, 18th April 2020, chewing away on something. Turned out, the racoon was chewing away at our potlite cable which I later found on our driveway. My wife, Nancy & I are deeply grateful to Mr. Horacio for his excellent service. My 2 cats alerted me to the fact I have mice living inside the walls/ under the floors of my home…Then one day I heard a larger an animal moving inside my homes walls. So, I hired City & Country Pest Control to look into my issue. A City and Country pest control technician came and treated my home for mice activity on Sept. 01, 2021. I was charged $452.00 for the service call. My receipt dated Sept. 01, 2021, states I have a 6 month warranty from City & Country. On Sept. 12, 2021, I emailed City & Country Pest Control to tell them I was hearing the larger animal again in side my wall that I had told their technician about during my service call on September 1st. When City & Country Pest Control responded to my email, I was told it would cost me an additional $500.00 to have one of their pest control technicians return to my home. Where is my 6 warranty for the service call to my home on September 1, 2021? It appears to me my 6 warranty from City and Country is not worth the paper it’s written on. So, Today I called ORKIN pest control. They sent a representative to my home immediately. I should have called ORKIN/ Critter Control FIRST!
