Two stars for a neat, tidy looking store. No stars for customer service...most of their staff overall is much too focused on stocking and straightening shelves. Even when it's not busy, most staff are either focused on stocking items and not looking around to take care of customers. It should be the other way around! Remember, no customers, no need for keeping those the shelves perfectly neat!! If Sears can be put out of business, so can you.????

I didn't manage to get her name but there's a short middle-aged woman was a manager at this particular location. I've never seen someone be so rude and mean and demeaning to a new hire, she also turned around and was extremely rude to me because she thought I was a different customer. Honestly she is just miserable, really ruined my experience. It's sad to see a person behave that way. I'll avoid the location of I am able to shop elsewhere. Otherwise service was fine, and the location is average for a Canadian Tire.

I ordered online & picked up an item within a day so that was nice. But was met with poor staff attitude, especially at the customer service desk…I know, ironic isn't it…especially the one young woman working here tonight. She seemed like she preferred to stand there with a blank look rather than serve me. With poor face-to-face service, I'd prefer to do more online shopping from Amazon, AliExpress and other stores in the future. Hope this store is aware that service is what will ultimately make people choose to shop in person. Or not.

I think this is the only Canadian Tire that does not allow you to bring in your dog. This is really the only point of differentiation that would make me choose to shop here over any other box store. As a single pet owner, it can be challenging to go out with your pet, especially on a hot day. Knowing there is a place to go in if we need something while out and about has always been such a selling feature of Canadian tire stores. Very disappointed to be turned away today.

A beautiful bright clean store but terrible service from many of the floor staff. My experiences range from being totally ignored while staff chat between themselves about personal issues in the middle of an aisle to begrudging assistance being offered only to have the staff member disappear never to come back. The front end staff at the tills are 100% fantastic but management could fire half the floor staff and none of the customers would know the difference.

Wow the best service I've ever had hands down! It was moving day and my car was accidentally injured while trying to change my tired over with a friend. I called Canadian tire and Allen Y answered and I explained it was an emergency. He was fully booked and still said come right away and I'll fit you in. I ordered some Cooper zeon tires online. It said "fits your 2013 Camry". Then got an email saying order will be paid when processed. I checked a few hours later they charged my credit card so I thought it was all done.Then I called the store they were supposed to be at, View Royal , and they told me no they don't have them. I said this is very disappointing as they charged my credit card already. After a short discussion with the manager of service , he HUNG UP on me. Can't trust View Royal .

I got an out of province vehicle inspection at this location. I booked it over te phone, I was never quoted a cost, I didnt care because I needed to have it done. I was told it would take 1 hour. That day, 28 minutes into the service I got a call I needed a piece replaced and it would cost be an other $85.00. I said sure, because I needed to get BC that day and they had the time. I was told it would be an other 40 minutes or so. 30 minutes later I got a call, all done. Awesome fast service.. so I thought. I went to pay my bill and it was almost $500.00 showing on the debit machine, I was in shock and just continued the payment. I wasn't shown my bill before paying, I thought because of covid they didnt want to many people touching papers. My mistake. Got to my car and looked at my bill.. I was charged for 2.5 hours of service and I was there for just an hour. On top of that, a bunch of other service charges I was never told about. I was confused and upset so later that day I went back to speak to a manager. No one was in the automotive department, another manager told me she would leave a msg for the automotive manager and that he would get back to me the next morning. I never got a call.. I waited all day and by 4pm I figured I wasnt getting a call so I drove back over to Canadian tire. When I pulled into the parking lot I got a call from Dan, the automotive manager. Apparently, Dan was so busy that day he couldnt have called me and that he was leaving for the day and would call me tomorrow if he could. I heard the msg and quickly ran inside to catch him before leaving. I found Dan and I experienced the worst customer service I've ever witnessed. I explained to him how I was confused about the charges and how I was never told about these extra hourly charges, shop charges etc. Dan told me "I dont believe you. My men would never not quote you those extra charges" I tried to explain I was only ever told about the part piece costing an extra $85.00 which I was all good to pay for but I wasnt told about any other charges. I told him I wasnt even quoted for the orginal inspection over the phone! "I don't believe you" "Im not arguing with you" . So disappointing and I was belittled in front of other customers. He asked me why I didnt question it when I paid . I told him I didnt get my papers till after I paid and that i figured it was because of covid. Dan told me that was my fault and that maybe I should have looked before I paid. And that it was a lesson to be learned. Dan tried to tell me they charge that much an hour because thats how much hi employees make an hour. I know people who have worked there and no, thats not even close to true. I was straight up lied to by their management and tried to be taken advantage of by their staff. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

Although the selection is fine, and people are nice, there is no way to effectively social distance in the store. There are no directional aisles, although the aisles are narrow. The till area is very crowded, meaning you must walk through a big crowd to leave, or stand in a long crowded line to pay. I was very disappointed when I visited recently. A friend and I were on vacation checking out the island when our power steering suddenly died on the highway heading into Buckley on BC Day. As it turned out, our engine mount loosened, serpentine belt blew, and we needed a full retiming of the engine. The day after the stat, not a single mechanic was available within 5 days to help despite there being a dozen in Courtenay. Canadian Tire was available to take us on short notice and went way beyond getting us back on the road that same day, including rubber fitting the worn engine mount into our car so we could get back home without waiting for the part. Big thanks guys - you salvaged our trip!

I like going there late in the day, and they're open until 8. Very few people are there around supper time and later. Less chance of being exposed to Covidiots. ( People that aren't cautious about exposure!) I dropped a brand new 1/2" drive ratchet in 30 feet deep water, while attempting to tighten my outboard motor mount. It is from a 33 piece set that sells for $129.oo! The ratchet alone, to replace is $89.99 ! Makes no logic to me. Just though I'd throw that in. So I'm going without it. Otherwise, Canadian Tire has everything.

I rarely post reviews but this store is an exemption. I lost my wallet while buying some things in here. All my cards and I.D’s were in my wallet so I’ve been really worried. Almost 2 weeks passed when I finally decided to call this shop and to my surprise, they have my wallet and they keep it in their safe. I’m really touched because even if they’re busy, the staffs and the manager made some time to assist me and hand my wallet back. I’m really grateful to all the hardworking staffs there. Took my JDM Subaru here for an inspection in Oct 2021 and found out my car needed a bit of work to be insured in BC. The staff (Ron in particular) were very good about explaining to me what needed to be done (and why!). After a few weeks spent acquiring all the parts I needed from a scrap dealer I brought my car back and they were able to do all the work needed to get the car to pass the inspection. All credit to the Canadian Tire Courtenay team. They were helpful, knowledgeable and patient with me as I had never done this before. Wil be bringing my JDM Subaru back to them for any future service needs as they clearly know what they're doing.

Canadian Tire employees made sure my kayak wasn't roadkill! I just had a really great experience at The Brockville Canadian Tire. I bought a kayak online from my home and then drove 2 hours to the store to pick it up. I also needed to buy all the accessories, car rack etc... The customer service counter had my kayak ready when I arrived. Two very kind and patient employees brought it out to my car for me. They're not supposed to lift the kayak onto to the car but helped me lift it on because I was on my own and there was no way I could do it myself. The car department helped me get the right rack for my car. The regular racks for my car are over $150 ???? but they helped me fine an universal alternative kit that was less then half the price ????. The outdoor department helped me get a kayak safety kit. Then when I couldn't find a paddle I liked, the employee checked all the other Canadian Tires and went over the pros and cons of the available paddles that best suited me... SO helpful and saved me a lot of time. To top if off, a lovely local Brockville resident named Cole helped me tie everything down. So amazing because I've never had to tie down anything on my roof and if I did it wrong my new kayak would have been road kill. THANKS COLE????

I bought brand new winter tires (Nordic) and rim set for my wife car (2011HondaCRV) last year . It cost me about 1,100CS. With new tires, the car had a pulling problem even driving in town. I did not aware that bcz I did not drive. Last month (in March) I took to Kelowna, I realised that driving on highway made me scary: having right pull and shaking the steering wheel, and very unstable condition on the speed around 90km/h. I dare not to come back with that situation, so I need to fix that. Because of four days visit, I did not get the appointment at Canadian tires with short notice. So, I did with other professional tire center at Okkanagan. They found out the brand new tires have the problems. Long to short, I went back to Canadian Tire_Dawson Creek. Tires are under warrantee. Auto Service Center asked me to pay service fee to check the problems. When I asked the certainty of the outcome, they can not guarantee if they can fix the problem or not. The technician even told me that put the weight on the other side and drive to balance the pull, and they gave the several reason about the drive fault, etc. They are just making money from me without providing the good services. They asked me more money for finding out the problem, but no grantee. Tires are under warrantee, it should not be charge for additional services as those are not user fault. I really unhappy about the purchase and their services. I decided that I will never ever doing the business with Canadian Tire again in my life. Very Bad Service!

As a mother of twin toddlers, who is forced to carry a large amount of supplies around on a daily basis, in a backpack; this locations unwavering dedication to their asinine "no backpacks" rule is, in my opinion, discriminatory to those of us who choose to cary a backpack. Needed a tire fixed. Advised tire could not be repaired due to location of puncture. Tech said they "prefer" to replace both tires on same axle. Due to age of tires, I agreed. Two days later for appointment, Hankooks were replaced with cheap Motomasters. Also, charged $7.99 for "Replacement Advantage" but never explained what it is. Addendum: Talked with the service manager, who was apologetic and polite. I have chalked this visit as an isolated incident as I believe that the appropriate people were talked too. Also, the tire warranty was better explained to be by Scott, the gentlemen in question. I feel good about the resolution and that my concerns were adressed.

Their staff was so unhappy that I was returning it. She said she could not resell the item as it had been used and she was not going to let me return it. Well, sell better products. That is why I shop at Costco. Their staff is always cheerful and they have an excellent return policy. If you are not happy with the product you can return it.

A true testament of 'doing the best you can with what you're given'. I probably go here once a month? Maybe once per six weeks; I'm a huge fan of the Canadian Tire franchise. I constantly search for deals and they always scratch the itch. I sadly can't buy their gas anymore (I've moved away from the Brandon location) but visit the dauphin (from Ste Rose) as often as feasible. Even during the nonsense of Christmas, staff went out of their way to help me find things, deals were relevant, love the CT money thing, and the staff were all cheerful. Even though the banner out front says hiring FT and PT. I know what short staffed is like, I know what busy season is like; I was a cook for over a decade. To stay that dedicated and pleasant is a massive plus one to their management. The store itself is quite tight, but they don't have alot of sq/ft to show their goods, so I get it. My only negative thing to say, which is probably just an example of what short staffing does, is their hours. They're only open until 6. I live 35 mins away, and I'm off work at 5 at the earliest. I would love to see them open until 8, even just two days a week. Otherwise, hats off to you guys! Truly maximizing on what's available to them. Well done.

Greedy service department workers were so slow. If they are charging me per hour why they are fixing other cars at the same time by holding my work. Terrible service. Air Conditioner of my car was not working took 2 hours and they could not find what’s wrong with it. At the end, told me to change the compressor charged me $322 just for could not find anything. Horrible service by canadian tire going to contact Canadian tire main office to get my money back!!

Exchange place for Soda Stream C02 canisters. They do an exchange for empty canisters. Be sure to call ahead as they sell out quick. Wal-Mart does not do the exchange program in Estevan, I think Can Tire is the only place here right now that does.

I went to Canadian Tire for an oil change and to fix a flat tire. The manager of the shop told me that his guy said that the tire can't be fix, and I had another one that also had a nail in it. So I ask him a couple of questions. One how much is 2 tires installed and everything. He quoted me for 2 new tires $500. I said no thanks ill come back later......not. I went to a real tire shop and they were able to fix both tires with no problems for $70. What a difference between $500 & $70 ehhh. From now on ill stick to shopping @ so called Tire for light bulbs and window washer and blinker fluids . A follow-up. I notice I was low on windshield washer fluid. That shouldn't be the case because I just had an oil change like a month after this posting. I've hardly ever use it unless I have to. So that means that they didn't even add any in. So I'm wondering if they even did the oil change at all.

It's hard to pay full price when you know it's probably going to go on sale the next week. Thankfully if this happens, you just bring in your receipt and they will give you back the difference. Or you can wait for it to go on sale. Maintenance side of things are a different story. They seem to over exaggerate things and won't always give you a straight answer.

Dishonest or incapable auto service. I recently left my Toyota Yaris at Canadian Tire in Brockville to have my winter tires put on. They called me and said three of my tire pressure sensors were seized. They would have to break them to change my tires. They offered to replace them at $140 each. I told them I had my tires changed a few months earlier without issue. Unable to believe them, I told them to stop all work and I picked up my car. I brought my Yaris to the Toyota dealership and they changed my tires with no issue whatsoever. No mention of 'seized' tire pressure sensors. This is not the first time I brought my car to Canadian Tire and they called me to say they were having issues and there would be additional expenses. I feel like a fool for bringing my car to Canadian Tire for so long and paying extra fees. I don't think there's any explanation for this. Too bad. I'm taking the time to write this so that other people don't get duped by this garage.

My partner and I walk everywhere. We used to frequent Canadian tire until the other day when they made a new rule about men wearing backpacks. I say men, because my partner and I were both wearing backpacks and he was asked to leave his at the front and when I asked if I needed to as well they answered no. We both carry our personal belongings such as our keys, wallets, extra bags and inhalers in our packs and I felt very frustrated that a store would make only my boyfriend remove his, but have no issues with ladies extra large purses or my backpack. We both have stopped being Canadian Tire customers and will remain that way. We have buying power and choose to use it where it feels right.

NO STARS DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT. They scammed me out of 714$. Were rude, required a deposit prior to looking at my vehicle. Told me my vehicle needed a new motor and would cost 6000$. When I went get my vehicle towed to a real mechanic, my new car battery was dead. They showed no concern at all. IF YOU BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THE CANADIAN TIRE DAWSON CREEK YOU WILL MOST LIKELY BE SCAMMED OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. You have to admit Canadian Tire has a huge selection. Nothing to complain about other than the Overseas import smell of products. Their automotive section is great for selection. One thing they could do to improve service to have enough cashiers at the tills. Nothing is worse than being treated like sheep in a narrow line up and then they only open up 2 cashiers to make the lineup wait time very annoying. It's a sign they only care about money.
