I had a raccoon issue in the North Bergen area, he setup permanent residence in my soffit! Having paid a couple trappers previously, with no results - seriously, $175 to trap an animal even if its not the animal you want - is nutso. Alan and his crew came - gave their assessment as how to deal with the problem. His bid was reasonable, so I give him a shot. He and his team came when they said they were going to, set up shop (a tunnel for the raccoon), and came back to remove the tunnel AND fix the damage the raccoon caused in the soffit area. (i bought the material for the repair, however, but it was only $10 bucks at home depot). They raccoon proof any potential entries around my roof with wire mesh. I wish we could've used something else (reinforced solid aluminum with screws?), to be honest, but its not terribly unsightly, so as long as it does the job - thats more important. He backed up his work for 5yrs and said he would come back to deal with it if another raccoon came in - without charge. Thats a hell of a warranty! He was also able to work with me on payment, with was greatly appreciated. Check out the website - he has a coupon on their for first time work!

Great guys! We had a yellowjacket nest in the wall and the wasps were finding their way inside the house. At first, we got another pest control company to treat it and at each visit they puffed a little bit of delta dust, saying it might or might not solve the problem, the nest might be very large etc - and we were paying by the visit! Then got ALCO to come over and see if they could kill the nest. They were so sure that we signed them up immediately. Sure enough, they got rid of the problem. We had wasps come into the house for a week or so and ALCO were prompt to come over again to treat the crawl space as well. Would highly recommend them.

ALCO responded promptly and professionally, installing a one-way sleeve that would prevent the squirrel from reentering and then covering the area with aluminum a week later. We called 6pm on a Saturday and Alan was out by 10:30am Sunday morning. Our has is having some construction and so a window frame didn't have insulation yet. Honeybees were making their way in to the house through the window frame and a hole in the interior. It turns out they were likely scouts that came from another house down the street after they were sprayed. Since they are honeybees, they couldn't be removed by Alan but by morning time it looks like they had moved on...luckily...hopefully. 5 stars for Alan though for his promptness and courtesy. I'll definitely be calling him back for future needs.......next might be carpenter bees...fun.

We called Alco, because we had Shaquia The Squirrel in our Down spout, but not knowing it was a Squirrel. Thinking it was a Possum up there making a HUGE Banging racket, turned out to be a mother and her babies! Well once they set up there trap door on Friday, Saturday morning, Shaquia The Squirrel (the mother) was HOT to Trot!! She was trying to get in to get her babies, but couldn't. So the babies were trying to get out and were stuck in the shoot. So we called ALCO and they knowing this was the first time we had experienced this, decided to come back out to see what was going on, even after they said they would be back out 7 days later!! That was so AWESOME of them to come from that distance yo see what was going on. Well low and behold within the 4 of the days, Shaquia The Squirrel got her Babies out, ALCO came back and patched up the hole for us and gave us Relief!! THANK GOD!!! I contacted ALCO regarding a yellowjacket hive that was partially sticking through the roof of a bedroom and partially in an attic. Alan and Angel were able to quickly assess and remedy the situation and cover up the hole where the hive used to be (all in about 30 minutes). We had birds in the vent behind a microwave and the microwave had been installed in way that made is almost unremoveable without having to remove cabinets. Al and Don managed to remove the microwave so they could get to the birds and remove them and after the job was done they reinstalled it. The birds were removed humanely, too. Great job! They showed up on time, worked efficiently, cleaned up and offered to come back to replace a part that will prevent future intrusions. We needed this done on a Saturday and had called a few places before connecting with Alco. One place said they don't have anyone who works weekends and if they did come over it probably wouldn't be until Wed or Thurs. Another place said we should call the Town to see if they could do something on a weekend. Alco took care of our problem and were sincerely happy to do so! If we have any more pests we will call Alco first.

We called alco when I came home from work to find the world's biggest hornets nest in the tree in front of my house. It was after 5pm on a Friday and I was in a complete panic. I called and spoke with Al who is very friendly and very understanding he put my mind at ease telling me that he'd have somebody out here first thing the next day even though I wasn't going to be home. Just as he promised the guys showed up they removed the nest. I loved that they have a guarantee on the nest removal in case the hornets came back and low and behold on Sunday they came back. I called Al again at alco and he came out himself personally since he knew there is an allergy in my family. He also promised me that he would send guys out the next day to check to make sure that the nest wasn't reforming and he did and the hornets were finally gone! I would definitely call alco again they were kind, quick and very reliable and his pricing was very fair and reasonable. You can't beat a guarantee so I would call them anytime you need any type of pest removal I highly recommend them.

We got Alan and his crew to bat-proof our house nine years ago when we had serious bat problems in our attic. His installation was high quality, and the treatment works very well, and most of the time we are bat-free. But every now and then, a piece of mesh gets knocked loose by a painter, gutter worker, etc. Sure enough, the bats find their way in, but we call Alan and he comes out and fixes the problem with no further charge, even if it was clear someone else caused the problem. This has happened 4-5 times over the years, and he has never failed to come out and fix the problem, nor has he ever complained. My husband and I find him to be professional and very easy to deal with. He is a good guy who can be relied upon - he does good work, and when he guarantees his work, he means it.

Every single "positive" review on this profile is ridiculous. Everything said is absolutely untruthful. I NEVER leave bad reviews, but I hope to save some of you from this place. So here's the story: Last night my cat, who wasn't nuetered, had ran away. As we tried to approach him, he would hiss at us. He even scratched my mom. So, my mom trying to be helpful, suggested I call an animal control facility ASAP. I googled "Animal Control Cats" in Bergen county, and I found this godforsaken place. I give a simple call to the business, and the voice mail stated "This is Alco ANIMAL & pest control. Please leave a message, and we will get back to you in a matter of minutes." After I left a polite voice mail stating my name and number and my problem, my cat fled. Not only did I NOT receive a courtesy phone call in "a few minutes", but what I DID get was a VERY ANGRY phone call at 7 o' clock in the morning THE DAY AFTER regarding my voice mail. It was the owner, who had blocked his number. He started asking me what my address was, and where he should drop off my cat, because he had found him. Me, being dazed and confused as I had just woken up, didn't understand. Last night when I left my voice mail, I had only left my name and number, and the fact that my cat was being a problem, and had ran away. So the first thing that pops up in my head is "How does this guy even KNOW what my cat looked like? Why is the number blocked?" So all I started to do was ask questions, only to be cut off by cursing. "THIS IS A PEST CONTROL COMPANY, WE DON'T DO ANIMALS YOU STUPID ***** " and he hung up on me. Now, I'm not one to be reckoned with. I called this man 10 times, and he would curse me out every single time. I had just lost my cat, I had just woken up, and I WAS ANGRY. I can't believe as a business owner, THAT'S how they do business. They could've simply let the call go, or even just politely inform me that they don't do pets. I am just shaking with anger. I hope EVERYONE stays away from this evil man, and I hope EVERYONE sees this, including the business owner. I hope they run out of business.

My experience with this company was very positive. At first I was a bit concerned because they suggested I wait before setting up a one way tunnel for my racoon problem, but the reasoning made sense as they suspected the animal might be pregnant, and they were right. When they came out they did an excellent job of setting up the one-way tunnel. No mess, no hassles they knew what they were doing, which built up my confidence in them. The price was very reasonable and based on the amount of work I am surprised it wasn't more. Prior to choosing them I did some shopping around and can state confidently that they did not overcharge me. In particular I liked their strategy to keep an area open in case the racoon had left one of its babies inside, which could have produced significant damage to my home if the racoon frantically tried to get back in for its offspring. They came back as promised and completed the work. They were polite, courteous and knowledgeable. This particular line of work has to be difficult, to say the least, especially during hot and humid weather. Thank you Alco for your diligence in addressing this issue. I would highly recommend them.

forget fair, the rating should be extremely poor. do not call this company unless you want to throw your money away. they showed up in april 2012 started the job ,took my money as payment in full & still have not returned to complete the job. I've spoken with them numerous times , always promise to show up & do what I paid for, never show up though. told me just yesterday that they would be at my house by5pm, no show,no call,nothing. left work early just to get home & have this finished finally.thieves! We called Alan to help with a raccoon in the attic. He sent Angel out within hours. He repaired an existing one-way tunnel. Over the course of the week it took for the raccoon to leave and not come back, Alan and Angel were attentive and sensitive to my being nervous about the animal in my unfinished attic - I was concerned it would dig through the Sheetrock and get into my second floor. They were also sensitive to the loss of sleep my family was experiencing because the animal made noise all night. They were patient, and encouraged us to be patient. They stopped by almost daily to repair and adjust the one-way tunnel over the course of a week (the very tiny raccoon was trying to use it to get back in). They inspected the entire property, identified areas that could be entry points and made recommendations to close them up. Another company came out and gave me a quote of $2700 to trap, remove and seal the entire house. Alan and his team felt that was unnecessary. They were professional, prompt, humane (even when we weren't feeling very humane) and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

Bats - these guys were excellent. Angel came out in June and told us that it was illegal to do anything until August. Luckily no bat was actually in the house. Called them last week (8/17/15) and they scheduled for Friday, 9-10. They showed up on time, were efficient and did a great job setting up the tunnel and sealed all the other areas. I was really impressed by them - not only the actual work they did but how they handled themselves - professional, smart, friendly. I would recommend them to anyone who needs bat removal. Great job!

Don and Angel blocked 16 gaps in the roof that had become literally a bird condo over the past 2 summers . They used humane methods and were effective at their task. For the 2nd time in 2 years we had found a bird in our attic and the noise at dawn was deafening from all the birds living on our roof. Last summer we hired roofers to fix the problem which failed until this year we finally found Alco and they have given us peace ! Called to set up an inspection. Specifically asked if they use poison, and was told no. Even their website says they don't use poison for mice control. When they called prior to their arrival, I asked again, do you use poison, and they told me of course they do. Poison is evil. The mice die in the walls, and rot, or if they get out, deer and cats eat them, and get sick. The Humane way to deal with mice, is stop their entry, then snap traps, or live capture. Their website claims they are eco friendly, but they are not.

Recently purchased my home (older house) and upon moving in noticed a significant amount of carpenter bees flying around at the peak of my roof. It appeared they had an active nest and were laying larva in some wood in the roof. We are grateful to Alco Animal & Pest Control of Bloomfield for their help with a bee emergency. Bees were increasingly swarming by our exterior door because they made a home in our siding. They were aggressive yellow jackets, and I had already been stung. Don of Alco was so courteous and helpful! They fit us in within less than 24 hours of our call while other companies could not see us for days. Don called from his previous client to let us know the exact time he would arrive and was there punctually. Even though we were given a timeframe window when Alco would arrive, their system of calling with an exact time that day was very helpful for our busy schedule! Recently purchased a house, did a walk through with my realtor and long and behold we saw two squirrels peaking at us from the gutter soffit near the electrical wiring. I called Alco and spoke with Alan; he gave me an estimate and told me it may be a bit more complicated because the opening was by the electrical wiring and that can be hazardous but he'll fix the problem and would guarantee me the issue will be resolved. He came the following day, on time, with his partner Don and immediately opened the soffit and placed a wired tunnel for the squirrels to exit. Two hours later, three squirrels came out and the following day two more came out. It has been 2 weeks and we have no squirrels in the gutter soffit!!!! We had raccoons and squirrels in the attic. Contracted with ALCO and they showed up next day and addressed numerous active and/or potential entry and exit points in our eaves and siding. They were informative and thorough. Comes with a guarantee! About a month later, a raccoon returned and pulled aside one of the entry point covers. I called ALCO and they returned the next day and readdressed the problem. We've been animal-free for weeks now, and hopefully forever. ALCO has done well by us!

We had squirrels in the attic for many years. We trap them and re-located them, but it just got to be too much. We hired Alco and they came in and put in tunnels on all the openings, so the squirrels can get out but they can't come back in. They cleaned and insulated the attic. This was amazing work, we had so many problems with squirrels for so long. They did a great job and recently I had to call them back. They came right away and took care of a little squirrel that wanted to live in our tenants walls. NOT anymore. They are professional and react quickly and positively. They get the job done.

I made an appointment with ALCO to help remove a birds nest in the eaves of our roof. They came earlier than our appt time since they were near by doing another job (called first to make sure it was alright to come by). Super friendly and made clear what they were installing. They installed a wire mesh door that lets the birds out without letting them back in, causing no harm to them, and came to take out after a week once the birds had all left. For the return appointment, they were also earlier than planned and removed the mesh, sealed the hole up, and were done in under 10 minutes. Great, efficient work. Would definitely call back again if I have similar issues in the future.

Hired them about a year ago to take care of a flying squirrel issue. It agreement came with a 7 year guarantee. I'm in the second year and the squirrels keep coming back. I even did my own mitigation which was arguably better than what I paid for. The guys show up to the house for 10 minutes, pretend to look around and don't take care of the problem. The second time I pointed out some potential holes in my siding by the my dormers but they didnt have a large enough ladder to reach.. I live ina 2.5 story Colonial..so the holes never got patched. Save your money and go somewhere else. The only reason I gave two stars is because they actually answer the phone and show up.

Alco has been exceedingly dedicated and helpful in solving my problems! I first noticed squirrels in my attic, which eventually turned into a raccoon as well. They were easy to communicate with from the start and perfectly punctual in the appointment. The most remarkable thing was that through a variety of issues (largely the persistence of these rodents), they have spent several months returning to make sure that this fully resolved. The animals chewed up every corner of my house and found new entry points, but Alco continued to block off each point and work to harmlessly remove them. Always polite and very knowledgable, the Alco team has shown integrity and expertise that I will recommend to all my friends and neighbors.

This company is what you would hope all companies would be' reliable, courteous, prompt, capable and kind. We had a family of squirrels that liked living in our house as much as our human family did. We heard the scratching through the walls every night. We definitely wanted them out but did not want them to be hurt in any way. Alco has the same philosophy. They came, appraised the problem, found all the squirrel entrances. ( I thought there was one. They found four.) They placed one -way cages that allowed the squirrels to leave but made it impossible for them to return. After 5 days of no scratching or noise they sealed the entrances. Voila! They got rid of our raccoon in the attic. They came three times. One time to give a free estimate, were not pushy at all. Second time to set up one way tunnel. Third time to close the tunnel after racoon got out and could not return any more. Great service and they provided a 6 months guarantee. We had the issue of some noises coming from our 3rd floor Ceiling/ Lightbulbs/Vent areas. after a quick consultation and a cell phone video they assumed it was a squirrel and would be by to check it out. They came by took a look and noticed a hole big enough for a squirrel to fit into. So they put a one way tunnel so the squirrel could leave but not get back in. Unfortunately the squirrel was a big one and somehow forced his way back inside. After another call the guys came out really quickly to reinforce the tunnel and make it easier to exit and harder to enter. its been about 2 months and we have not any more scurrying in our ceiling fixtures! I would definitely recommend that if you are having rodent problems to call them!

We had a problem with birds building nests in the ceiling of our gazebo on our deck and also in a vent in the back of our house. We tried everything to chase them away, including giant reflective balloons etc. Nothing worked, so we decided to try ALCO. That did the trick! Everyone was courteous and excellent at explaining what they would do to humanely remove the birds and prevent them from coming back. The solution on the deck was a straightforward “shield” of wire mesh all around the inside of the gazebo roof. For the vent, they installed a one-way “tunnel” that allowed birds to leave, but not get back in. After a few days, and after being sure all birds were gone, they replaced the tunnel with a mesh barrier. All work was neat and clean. Couldn’t be happier! Thanks. We won’t miss having to clean up bird poop almost every day!

I live in a three story duplex unit in Bergen County. Late summer, I started hearing noise from the ceiling of my bedroom on the third floor. Every morning at around 5am, I could hear distinct “running” noise originating right above my head. After hours of online research and thorough examination of my own house, I concluded that the owner of the noise is likely squirrel or squirrels. Before hiring Alco and Angel, I used different methods and hired different people to get rid of squirrels from my house. Most of them were outright ineffective. Another pest control (before I hired Alco and Angel) came and installed an one way tunnel. For a few days, I didn’t hear any noise from my ceiling and thought the problem’s gone. But, stubborn squirrels came back and having the pest control guy return to my place was seemingly impossible. So, when I met Angel for the first time, I noticed that he is different from all others. He really cared to solve the issue. Without hesitation, he went up to the roof. As mentioned, my house is three story, so no previous servicers voluntarily went up to the roof. But Angel said that’s the only way to diagnose the issue accurately. He went up, did thorough examination and identified an open crack and other spots where squirrels can potentially chew their ways in as a preventive measure. I was so impressed with his work, work ethics and responsiveness. His method is effective and now I have no squirrel issue. I will recommend Alco and Angel to anyone who has squirrel issues. They are really great!

I was told they would go to my house to inspect potential animals living in the attic. They gave me a call 3 hours later and said I had raccoons in the attic and it would cost over $1,000 to remove them. They said this must be done. I decided to get a ladder and check out the attic area. There is no way that raccoons could be living in my attic, there was a birds nest on the side of a gutter and the attic was tight (no way for any animals to enter). I was very glad to save myself a small fortune; however, these people scare me.

Called them at 9:00 PM on a Saturday and for their voicemail. I didn't leave a message, as we needed emergency services for a yellow jacket nest that broken trough our ceiling, but five minutes later I got a call back anyways. I explained the situation and that we needed someone to come out ASAP, preferably that night or early Sunday. The gentleman explained that they wouldn't be able to make it (because of the time and where they were located) but told me that he would call some other businesses they work with who can provide the 24 hour emergency service. Literally four minutes later I get a call from a company close to me that can provide the service. I honestly didn't expect a call back that soon. Although we didn't use ALCO, so I can't speak directly to the quality of their pest services, I can say that I am amazed by their customer service. Not only did I get a call back five minutes after I called, at after 9:00 PM on a Saturday, but they were able to get another company to call me back even quicker, a few minutes later, that was able and willing to provide the services we needed immediately. Honestly, the BEST customer service experience I've ever had.
