I'm not usually one to post reviews, but Brett and his team at Bed Bug Detectives were so great that I had to share our experience. My boyfriend and I recently moved into a home where beg bug issues were not dealt with properly in the past. Once we found the first one, it was a stressful and anxiety provoking situation. My boyfriend contacted Brett and sent him a picture of our new pal - which he confirmed was an adult male bed bug. From there, Brett was super helpful and was able to come by our place the next evening to investigate. Brett was extremely kind and lovely to deal with. He was non-judgmental and very easy to chat with. He reassured us that they would fix the problem and even gave us some useful tips to avoid any further issues in the future. There were a couple of sleepless nights, but the night after Brett and his team provided the heat treatment, I had the best sleep I had all week. Brett made us feel confident that the issue was fixed and we thank him for the amazing service. BBD followed up two weeks later with the dogs to do a final search and we're bed bug free (thanks Alex and dog friend Duke!!) We also have a downstairs tenant and Alex and Duke even did a check through her place just to confirm she had none. If you have any pest issues, choose these guys. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and reassured. I can't recommend them enough!! Thanks a bunch!!

After calling several pest control companies which advertised "24-hour service" but who never returned our calls, BBD were there the same day! Jonathan did a through assessment of possible entry-points for the rats which had taken up residence in our basement, and sealed them off with wire mesh and foam spray. He placed multiple traps and bait boxes, in and around the basement, and we were shortly rewarded with the deeply satisfying sound of rat traps slamming shut on rodents necks. Jonathan returned a week later for a "follow-up" inspection. We were very pleased with BBD's service, and would recommend them to anyone.

We had a mouse issue that we tried to fix ourselves. That didn't work . Researched the companies out there to help us. BBD was the only service who offered a holistic approach, environmentally friendly method to deal with the mice. With their Technicians ( Jonathan's ) thorough in and outdoors search as to where the mice were entering and listened to us with our concerns. We were able to prevent them from entering the home. Fixed areas that needed to be fixed. Any signs of new entry ,BBD will be called right away. Thanks you

We hired BBD Pest Services for fire ant and rodent issues we had in our yard. We ended up going with their Home Protection Plan. They were responsive, knowledgeable, and the on-site tech we saw (Jonathan) was very friendly and helpful. Overall, very pleased with the service we received.

To say that I am overjoyed that we found and hired BBD is the understatement of the century. We hired two other companies who used steam and chemicals over the course of a month, and the bugs were still biting our tenants (including their four children) on a nightly basis. From the moment I called Brett (in tears) - I knew we were on our way to a solution. He scheduled a canine visit the next morning and had the house treated the following day. Finally, the house and the beautiful family living there were bug free. The level of professionalism, transparency, efficiency, and sheer care that Brett and Brian conduct themselves with is astounding. From letting you witness the dogs work, to allowing you on site during the treatment - so you know what’s going on in your home - I can not recommend BBD enough. Please don’t waste your time getting quotes from other pest control companies. They may give you a cheaper quote, but it won’t fix your problem. Heat remediation was the only thing that worked for us, and we were bug free 48 hours after my first call to BBD.

Their whole home package is by far the best money you could spend! But bargains aren't enough reason to use a company, it's the people, and I can't even express how happy I am with both the people and the price of service.

I couldn't be more thankful or pleased with the services provided by the Bed Bug Detectives. After finding a bug on our couch at night we had a response and a visit the next day. Brian was incredible with helping with my anxiety and both Dottie and Duke were excellent pups, very professional, and gave me incredible peace of mind in their search. Having them find brought-in bugs in a container to show that they are "doing their job" is comforting, and makes it very obvious how good their noses are. If they can find a bed bug in a sealed jar inside of my mini-fridge, then I'm really confident that if we had had bed bugs in our house, they would have found those as well. Don't waste time anywhere else - they were quick, understanding, and incredibly professional. They understand how tough this can be for a family, and they are so supportive. I can't thank you all enough for the quick response and the thorough inspection - the peace of mind is exactly what we needed right before the arrival of our new baby.

I liked everything about my experience with BBD. When I called, they were able to fit me in for a canine inspection very quickly (the next day). They showed up on time (actually they were early, but they called first to make sure that was ok), and when they arrived they performed a thorough inspection with 2 dogs. They gave me advice on how to treat problem areas myself and were very knowledgeable and professional. Their service allowed me to treat my home in a targeted way instead of blindly spraying everything. I even had them come back after treatment to confirm that I had fully rid my home of the pests. The peace of mind that they gave me was worth every penny, and I will call them again if I ever need to, which, as much as I loved them, I hope I never have to. Either way, I am so glad this service exists in the HRM and I would recommend them without hesitation.

A great experience with this compnay and the employees who came to our property to help with the elimination of pests. They were very professional in everything they did from removal of bodies to clean up of soiled areas. They kept the atmosphere light and jovial to help ease our embarassment of having critters in our dwelling and never once did we think they judged us for that. Responded to my first inquiry the same day and had a quote ready within 24 hours of a free on site inspection. I'm very happy to have worked with BBD and if I do need to use thier services again I won't hesitate to call. I'm hoping that I never have to use them again but I can rest easy knowing that this company is happy to help. I highly recommend using BBD Pest Services.

I called BBD Pest Services to help with a rodent problem at my house. They were quick to respond and very thorough. They investigated all the places where the little beasties can get in, plugged up holes in where they found them then set traps in the appropriate places. Honestly it takes a bit of effort to get rid of clever roadents and BBD came back twice to adjust the plan. We won out in the end and the critters on gone. I can highly recommend BBD.

I’ve had a rodent problem for the past few months, it’s annoying to buy groceries just to throw them in the garbage :( I heard about this company from my friend Alex! I had a million questions and Jon and Alex answered every single one without hesitation . By far the best company with catching the rodents I have/had in my house !! Bed bugs are a terrible thing to experience and we were able to fix the problem quickly because of BBD. Within hours of contacting BBD we were offered a same day canine inspection. Dogs were amazing to watch and Brian was very knowledgeable. Brett, the office manager, followed up quickly and had us scheduled in for the recommended heat treatment for the next day. The price was affordable and the heat treatment process was Non toxic which is important to us as we have young kids. Two weeks later, the dogs came for a final inspection and to give us the all clear. Within 4 days of finding bed bugs, BBD had resolved our issue. Throughout the ordeal, I texted Brett with questions and pictures of random bugs and he was always responsive, even on the weekend which was not expected but appreciated.

Ive used a few different pest control providers in Halifax, and BBD services is without a question the best. Johnny came and identified all holes, filled them all, communicated well with tenants, and we saw results in pest (mouse) reduction almost immediately. The on the contract end, Brett is highly professional and ensures pets are taken into consideration. If youre with someone else, switch over.

Never used a pest service before but with great google reviews I contacted the owner! Owner was great very responsive, we chatted through texting which was better for me! He was able to schedule me in quickly. I used them for getting rid of the spiders in the basement mainly & some on the main floor! Jon Tucker was an absolute pleasure! He got rid of all the spiders & any I seen to ask him to get for me, he was super nice about & got it with a great attitude! He was nice & professional, talked about how to help prevent them from come in & what I can do! I DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone who's looking for a pest service, they are a great team!

Pam & Brian were outstanding to deal with during a very stressful time. They have incredible compassion and professionalism throughout the entire process. During my first phone call, Brian took the time to answer all of my questions and he thoroughly explained the process to detect and get rid of bed bugs. We were super pleased to know that using heat instead of chemicals to deal with the pests also meant we could return to our place the same day. Within 24hrs he was at our place with the bed bug detecting dogs to determine the extent of our problem. Both Brian and Pam were also very discreet from beginning to end. A couple days later they were back with all the equipment to rid our place of the bed bugs, and as promised, we could return the same day. Brian and Pam returned with the dogs a couple of times to ensure that our bed bug problem was gone.. and it was! I hope to never ever have to go thru this again, but if it happened, I would definitely be calling the Bed Bug Detectives!

Had a great experience with these guys. Arrived on time did a thorough inspection and was great to share knowledge. Explained what I could do myself and then if that didn't work to have them back. They're not trying to empty out your bank account like some other services out there. Would call them again and will recommend.

After suffering for months with skin irritations and itchy welts, my husband and I finally found the cause - we had bed bugs! It was an overwhelming feeling of frustration and helplessness. We tried sprays and traps but they didn't work. We purchased a steamer which helped a bit but did not eliminate the problem. The weeks of constant washing of bedding and clothing, and the lifting and cleaning of other items and furniture was mentally and physically exhausting. Searching for a permanent solution, I came across BBD online. From the first conversations with Brian and Brett, I felt there was hope for our situation. Using the dogs was intriguing! Brian brought Dottie and Duke in one at a time, and they each did a thorough search through every room in the house - each finding the same infestations in the two bedrooms. They were amazing to watch as they worked. The technician was thorough and efficient before the heat treatment began. He located several items we neglected to remove that would have been affected by the heat. The process was successful! The after treatment walk through two weeks later by the dogs revealed no bed bugs!! Brian and Brett were both very helpful in answering questions and giving us suggestions. We would certainly recommend that anyone who finds they are overwhelmed with bed bugs contact BBD right away for professional and friendly service.

After having mystery marks appear on my children while staying at their father's home, we phoned BBD to investigate the possibility of bed bugs. Not only did Brian and his two awesome dogs thoroughly inspect and declare the home bed bug free, they returned approximately one month later when the marks reappeared, and once again investigated every piece of furniture and crevasse in the home and vehicle. Brian and Pamela, the owners of BBD, were incredibly understanding of my tremendous anxiety. My son had been recently diagnosed with a disease that puts him at risk of infection, so they went WAY above our expectations in reassuring him that his dad's home was safe for him to be in. When we had a scare, wee had already had an inspection with another company and had done remediation work. When we thought we might have had a reoccurence, we were directed to contact the "Bed Bug Dogs" by the other competitor! We were so impressed by their responsiveness. The next day, Brian showed up with Duke and Dottie. We had a thorough top to bottom inspection of our home by both dogs (separately so you know one dog is not influenced by the other!). Turns out it was a false alarm and there was no bugs. We even tested the dogs with one bug that was brought home on a pant leg. In a previously cleared room, both dogs found that ONE bug in a ziploc bag hidden away. They were polite and courteous. More importantly, we have peace of mind! Thank you!

After feeding the birds in our backyard for several years we attracted some unwanted guests. While we though the squirrels were cute the new rodent family that moved in was definitely not.
