I have an office in the East Village, I called and requested an estimate for service to get rid of a rodent problem we were having (our office is next door to a restaurant) and I was surprised to get a full site quote from a supervisor along with a technician. Once I got all the info I needed, I knew doing business with these guys would be a cinch. This was a year ago and everything always gets done monthly as promised. What I really like about standard is that their management is accessible, there's no stupid answering service and I can basically, text, call or email to get an answer on even the most trivial things. So I couldn't seem myself going with another exterminator in NYC.

I never had to call anyone for a pest problem before, but spending more time in my apartment made the need very apparent. I was thrilled at how quickly i was able to have someone come to take care of the situation. Working from home, I was concerned that having someone come during work hours would be disruptive, but they were very professional, wore a mask, and allowed me to focus on what I was doing without any interruptions. I had a small bed bug infestation a year ago. The first guy to come was Durga who was extremely good at calming my nerves (I have a phobia of bugs) unfortunately though one treatment wasn’t enough to get rid of them and Standard had to come 2 more times to get rid of them (which is from what I find online common not to get on the first try) the second guy was Anthony (who complimented me on my video game collection) and the third guy (the closer) was Singh. They didn’t even charge extra! I had read though that some bed bugs could lie dormant for a year without food. But now it has been a year to the day since the last treatment and NO BEDBUGS!!! Seriously if you go to bed bug forums there are some people that suffer much more than I did. Some even have to move! But Standard kept coming until the problem was resolved. Appreciate it!

It was a very bittersweet experience, I had to call several ceces to see if they would come, the one who came to my house was extremely kind and a good person. The service was not the best, I had a tick problem and for two sprays and a period of 5 minutes I paid 380 dollars. After the service I found out about the products and it was found that they cost 18 dollars each bottle, I was desperate because I have a daughter and I was very worried and in the end I ended up feeling ripped off. I recommend that before making a hasty decision to find out and investigate well before.

This review is for the tech Anthony (his nickname is “Dog”). He has gone above and beyond from our first service all throughout until our most recent service. In all the years living in NYC dealing with pest control management we have never encountered such a superior tech like him. He has no idea I am writing this but is outstanding for the reasons below: •Cleanliness: We never have to tell him to take his shoes off (other techs do not), he does this on his own. He has respect for our home. •Patience: He is extremely kind and understanding with our very old and rambunctious chihuahua that leaps to bite him 5x per appointment. •Experience: He explains what traps he sets, how they should be maintained and for what reasons. •Knowledge: His experience in the industry is apparent. Dog always takes time to answer my 50 questions from the mice in our walls to the cockroach in our closets. I never feel rushed or overlooked. •Professionalism: His manners go a long way. He asks permission to service certain areas. Ex: “May I open your closet?” “Do you mind if I look in your cabinet?” I have literally seen him crouched over in a tiny dark space using a flashlight and he STILL has a smile on his face! All in all, Dog’s above and beyond service is exemplary and should be recognized. He should be training other techs on how to conduct themselves in people’s homes and I hope you either promote him or give him a raise. He treats your company as if the brand is his own. Bravo to him and bravo to your company for having a diamond in the rough on the team!

Standard Pest outshined our current building pest management company and went above and beyond to control the pests traveling in our ceiling from the trash compactor room. They did a much more thorough job and were able to target problem areas where roaches and mice populated - places that had not been monitored before (downstairs access panels, under the kitchen sink panel, etc). Unlike our monthly building exterminator who usually insists “everything looks good” and that there’s “no activity”, Standard Pest produced some seriously jarring results with the latest visit - which was a good thing. I now have the peace of mind that the pests are being located and exterminated.

Update: One of the representatives contacted me the next day apologizing for the inconvenience, and offered to reschedule my appointment free of charge. A few days later one of their exterminators, Daniel, came and treated the areas. He was very nice and apologized for their mistake with my first appointment. Overall they were nice and apologetic, and I’m satisfied with my service. On 8/26 I called to make an appt for today, 9/3. The lady on the phone booked it for a time slot of 3-5pm. Today, I get no phone call confirming my appointment, which was the first red flag. So I call them myself, give my name and address, and the lady said yes my appointment is still there and that the exterminator will be arriving btwn 3-5 (she even confirmed that they have my credit card info on file for the payment). Fast forward to 5:20pm… no one is here, and I don’t even receive a call informing me as to whether or not the exterminator is running late. So I call the place twice, and both times there’s an automated message saying the office is CLOSED. This is the most unprofessional thing I’ve ever experienced, especially from a business that claims they’re professional and have been operating for years. I wasted my entire day, when I could’ve called another exterminator who would’ve gotten the job done. I don’t care how good your service would’ve been, if you can’t even show up for appointments or have the office call to inform me whether or not the exterminator is late/not coming, then you’re being unprofessional.

Their website is misleading. It says they service all 5 boroughs of New York, but when I called for service they told me they don't perform bird mite service in Staten Island. The bird mite page on the website specifically lists Staten Island as an area they serve.

When we moved into our new home we inherited a pretty bad pigeon- nesting problem on our otherwise lovely terrace. We not only couldn't go out there but we couldn't open our living room windows! They were sleeping on the lantern outside the porch door and hatching and raising chicks in a large and overflowing nest in a corner. SPM owner/operator Josh was very responsive to answering all of my questions regarding what would be involved with the clean-up and future prevention. Dan, who came to do the work was very professional, did a great job in cleaning up the porch and the lantern, using all the protective gear. It took nearly 4 hours. He communicated with us while the work was being done and literally he only needed to go through the apartment to arrive and leave; there was no trekking back and forth or mess inside at all. We purchased the clean-up and the preventive glow-in-the-dark non-toxic garlic discs and so far it's working!! The work was done 4 days ago. The birds that were nesting there attempted to land on the porch a number of times since the clean up (especially within the first 48 hours) but just made a big old u-turn before even getting into the porch area. They do not land on our balcony at all!! I've attached one photo of before and others of after that show the discs. Looking forward to using our terrace!

I had contracted with terminix when I purchased my home. I found them to lie and say they were at my home 2 times. called standard due to them being close they have helped me in eliminating a rodent issue and a raccoon issue. Josh did not quit until he captured the raccoons. I would recommend standard and josh bloom to anyone. Updated Standard has also eliminated a bee issue in the eave of my home and problem with ants in my tenant space.

After I complained of bug bites, my landlord's exterminator couldn't find evidence of bedbugs after 2 inspections of my apt, so I called Standard Pest Mgt. Their inspection dog and technician both found evidence of bedbugs in the apartment and performed the required mutiple treatments to fix the problem.I found the office personnel, the dog handler and the technician to to all be very professional and knowledgable. I'd highly recommend the company and they are also reasonably priced.

It is always disconcerting when one discovers there are mice in one’s home. However, Tony from Standard Pest Management put our mind at ease with his professionalism, knowledge and systematic approach to solving the problem. Not only did he set up traps in key areas to catch the pests already present, but also emphasized prevention of further infestation by blocking all possible points of entry for new pests. We received a lot of advice about how to exclude and protect from other critters, cockroaches etc and how to disinfect affected areas. In summary, the approach by Tony was comprehensive, thorough and covered all aspects of the problem. To be sure, he also checked another apartment where no mice had been detected and closed all gaps through which any pests could enter. It is highly likely that this is the reason that this apartment has not been affected by mice despite the fact that all other apartments surrounding it have been. The work done by Tony and Standard Pest Management is greatly appreciated.

Three weeks ago, I had called another pest control company, (one of the big names) to help with a problem with bugs in my apartment. After spending very little time in my kitchen, they said that they had solved the problem. Literally, there were still roaches crawling around as the guy packed up his stuff. I decided to call Standard Pest after seeing one of their trucks in midtown Manhattan last week to see if they could put an end to this problem and they were great. The whole process from booking the appointment to the service was efficient, professional, and thorough. I'm happy to say that as of today, I'm seven days roach free and it feels great, and I also don't have to worry about something biting my children as they play on the floor.

Was overrun by mice due to construction overhead. I tried two different companies before I found Standard Pest. They are so far ahead of these "service" providers. It took two different visits (was warned that a second visit might be necessary to confirm that all sources of entry have been closed by use of their "monitoring" system). I am now without infestation and can sleep at night. Their technician Expedito is so dedicated to completing the job and went over and above in his efforts to close every single opening (my building is over 100 years old....'nuff said when it comes to holes). They will be my company going forward but that is only to verify that the rodents are gone from my home. They are honest and take great pride in getting to root of problem and then eliminating it. I had a bird situation under my AC units where I thought pigeons would be coming into my living room and bedroom any moment. They were loud, disturbing, and disgusting. I googled Standard Pest Management and saw that they also did pigeon control for residences (in addition to businesses). The website was user friendly and you can select to be contacted by phone or email. I selected email and they were responsive. They also obliged my date and time request for my appointment. The day of the installation Andrew came and was prompt, kind, and professional. He worked diligently and removed all of the disgusting bird droppings and installed tracks of spikes. He was very thorough and I’m more than pleased with the final product. More importantly no more pigeons! I would highly recommend Standard Pest Management.
