2017 Review: My satisfaction with Responders has increased since they recently dealt with us on a relapse of the bed bug situation we had from last October. Derek was diligent about getting back to me and made appointments with our tenants to come to the property to do both applications. I really appreciate the level of service I have received from Derek and would use them again in the future! Initial review from 2016: The experience with Derek was good and they took care of our issue, however they overcharged my credit card, when I discussed having them refund the overcharge for me they said they would drop a cheque off at my house, I have not been able to get a hold of them since. We used Responders for an incident in October, it is now January, I have called countless times and left several messages and they have not tried to make the situation right. My satisfaction with Responders has increased since they recently dealt with us on a relapse of the bed bug situation we had from last October. Make this company your first call. Amazing service. I am posting this review on behalf of my paranoid friend who called in the middle of the night because she noticed some blood spots on her sheets. This guy calmed her down, explained to her how to look for more signs of bed bugs, and then explained to her why she probably didn't need an exterminator, but also explained that he could come and do an inspection himself if she wanted. All in all he talked to her for over 15 minutes and spent most of that time calming her down and explaining why she probably doesn't have bed bugs, and didn't sell her anything. I know that my friend was probably in a vulnerable state when she called. 5 stars for a good guy exterminator acting like a real professional and not a sleazy salesman. My hat's off to you, sir!

We found carpenter ants in our home while doing renovations. I called around Edmonton to at least 6 different companies. Responders Pest Control not only was decently priced but was able to come that very day even though it was late. (No one was home, we got a neighbour to let them in since we were gone for the weekend) Derrick did an amazing job and even came back to spray one more time before we closed in the wall, just for my reassurance. It's been 3 weeks now and we haven't seen or heard an ant since! So grateful. This is the only company I will recommend to my friends and family.

Discovered a wasp nest under our deck. Filled out the contact form and received a call within 5 minutes. And as luck would have it, he was in the area already and was able to come right away. Nest was gone within 20 minutes of me discovering it. Very reasonably priced and Derrick was very polite and informative. My tenant though that he saw the bed bugs. I called Responders and two hours later Derrick showed up to assess the place. Derrick identified that there was no bed bugs and spent half an hour explaining the tenants about bed bags for free. Great customer service. I highly recommend this company.

I had a great experience with Derek, the owner. He came to the house three times (usually only needs two visits), and didn't charge extra or complain. Unlike other pest control companies they include in their fees sealing up the exterior of the house, so good value also. Derek was knowledgeable, friendly, and effective. Derrick is fantastic!!! After an unfortunate encounter with bed bugs at a bed and breakfast, we thought we had brought them with us as we were still experiencing visible bites. In a panic we called quite a few exterminators and were quoted chemical pesticides and heat treatments in the thousands of dollars. We were about to just go for it but decided to call one more guy. After listening to our story he noticed that something wasn't quite right with the timing we described, and was the ONLY one who offered to come take a look at our home. He came quickly, did a full inspection and concluded that we had done everything we needed to when we saw them and were bed bug free. He dispelled many myths and fear mongering we had read online about their behavior and simplified it all for us. In the end, even though we had seen the bugs and experienced real bites on our trip, what we had in our home was the culprit of reactions to cheap laundry detergent we used by accident, which looks exactly the same as bug bites. This man is an extremely honest and professional business man who saved us thousands of dollars and many hours of hassle, and put our minds at ease when the other companies were ready to take our money without hesitation. His inspection fee was well deserved. We will absolutely be going to him should we have any problems in the future. Thanks Derrick!!

I suspected I had bed bugs a few weeks after Mexico, so I had called Responders to do an inspection. Derrick was available right away, explained what he was looking for and thoroughly inspected my bed and bedroom for bugs and the signs of bugs. He inspected the living room and my roommates room for good measure. Derrick did not try to upsell me on anything and was very caring. He was professional, friendly, immediately available, didn't rush the process and was knowledgeable. These guys are great. This is a really ethical company. They will not rip you off; they genuinely just want to help. They’re available 7 days a week and can usually come within 24 hours of a phone call. I worked with another exterminator before calling them and it was awful. When her treatments weren’t effective, she blamed me, interrogated me and told me horrible, worst case scenario stories. In contrast, Derrick is very calm and knowledgeable. These experiences were night and day. I highly recommend responders.

He returned a couple of weeks later and sprayed again in even more locations. Very knowledgeable and friendly and even offered to come and deal with wasps at no charge if I had any issues through the summer. Highly recommend the company and Russell.

this company sucks, they are only nice to u up until they receive their payment. Even the price they have was quite high.... like $1900.00 !!! After that, they ignore phone calls, text messages, emails... DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!! They take advantage of little old ladies, claiming they would return until the “problem/pests” are completely gone but that is simply not the case!! They lie, bull$hit and make broken promises. Fantastic, efficient, conveinant and friendly service! I found traces of these annoying bugs at midnight and was able to reach Derrick early at 7:30 the next morning when I woke from what was a terrible sleep. He was very considerate and caring about my situation, and he made sure not to jump to conclusions but clearly asked for all the details. He was calm and reassuring and very considerate of the situation which helped me with my nerves. We were able to set up an inspection the same day which was super conveinant. Russel came by and was very thourough. He knew exactly what to look for and was very informative while doing the inspection. He knew his bed bug facts well and was not annoyed by all my questions. He laid out all of my options based on the inspection. These guys really made me feel that they understand the urgency and shock one can go through when dealing with this, and that they genuinely cared about dealing with the situation and not just looking to make money. A wasp nest under our deck made it impossible for us to enjoy our yard. After looking at the various options available in Edmonton, we went with Responders. We gave Derrick a call (phone's the best way to reach them) and explained our issue. Despite having a packed schedule for the weekend, he was able to slot us in for later that same day. Upon his arrival, he reviewed the situation and then set off to work. Despite being located in a tight space (under the wooden deck boards), he was able to destroy the nest and kill the wasps in the vicinity nearby. Excellent service! Price was a good value as well. Definitely would recommend them.
