Was astonished to see the vast differences in price among Calgary providers -- including some providers that wanted to charge over a hundred dollars for a quote. When Lavellan came to complete their free initial inspection, and within an hour giving a quote, was already impressed. Though their quote wasn't the lowest, it was half the price of one of their competitors. They showed up on time, did an excellent job, and cleaned up after themselves. Highly recommend Lavellan.

It would be just my luck that SOMEHOW a Black Widow, and her male counterpart made a home in the basement suite of the house I currently rent. The downstairs tenants caught her in a jar and made the call to Lavellan (as I personally would have liked to have used a much hotter approach). James (the founder) came out right away to take a look and confirm that it was indeed a Black Widow. Regardless of my total panic state, crying, and other, umm, not so nice things I said towards the spider, James stayed completely professional while also being totally understanding of my insanity towards the spider(s). He went into detail about how they treat the problem, as well as cost, how to prepare, and when we would be allowed to return home. The best part was he was back at the house in LESS THAN 24 HOURS to administer the treatment, which also came with a 90 day guarantee (we chose to pay a fraction more for this, because I have a serious fear of spiders). Pretty soon I will be able to head back to my widow free home and knowing that lil nasty isn't hanging out in there anymore will allow me to sleep tonight :) I have never had to deal with this before, and I certainly hope I never have to again. But if I do, I 100% know who I will be calling. I seriously cant thank you enough.

We had some squirrels move into our crawl space who had gained access through our bathroom exhaust vent. This is a very difficult place to reach near the top of our house. Required a 30 foot ladder to get access. I called James at Lavellan based off ratings found on Google. He came out the next day, quoted the job which required two people to be onsite because of the height the work was been performed. James was professional, courteous, and within range of any other company who would conduct squirrel extraction using cages that allowed the squirrels to leave but not regain access to the house. We left the cages in place for a couple of weeks. James came back to remove the cages and put in steel mesh to prevent future access. Work was done as quoted and was professionally installed. Would recommend and use again.

Great experience with Lavellan. James clearly knew what he was talking about. He had insight on the structure/construction of the house, on the behaviour of insects, about the insects themselves and their anatomy, about common vs. intense pest treatments, and so much more. I had initially contacted many different pest control companies to get an idea of what type of treatment would be most effective for the problem we were having, and James was the only one to actually explain the cause of our pest problem to me on the phone. He clearly demonstrates a holistic understanding of how to deal with pests, and is able to offer long term suggestions on how to prevent the problem, rather than just wanting to come in there, apply the treatments, and leave. Would definitely recommend Lavellan for dealing with pest control problems.

I had a family of skunks living under my shed. They fit me in quickly, were here on time, and did everything super fast. They left my yard looking even better than they found it. Super friendly service, too. Even better than all of that, they evicted the skunks humanely, and took the time to educate me about the process and what the end result would look like for them, and for me. I hope not to need their services anytime soon, but should I find myself with squatters again, I will call them without question.

I first contacted Lavellan with a skunk issue last Spring, James came out within 2 days and I received a quick and expert education on skunks, he advised the options to permanently solve the problem and we booked. Within days of the specialty metal buried fencing installed, the problem in my yard and under my shed was solved! Too add, it was done humanely and no animals were hurt or trapped! James is an impressive expert and my experience was fantastic. I called again this past week when my exterior cameras caught a skunk in the back yard 2 nights in a row, it was digging around the shed. James came out next day, did a full yard inspection, took pics of where it came in and emailed me invoice, pics and description of issue. The skunk attempted to dig a new hole under the shed but the the work James did the year before was solid and all was good. I highly recommend James and Lavellan , rarely do you find such expertise, efficiency, responsiveness and quality work in one service provider, Lavellan is now my go to for any pest issue I may come across as a home owner!

After a number of weeks noticing holes in our front flower beds, we determined that we had a skunk den underneath our front step/porch. I spoke with several pest solution companies but was most impressed with James' response and comprehensive program which began when he first arrived on scene and ended once the skunk(s) left our property. Thankfully, through James' program, we determined the skunk was in fact, a mother, who likely had several kits with her in the den (turned out to have 8 kits). If we simply would have removed/relocated the mother, the 8 kits would likely have died underneath our porch. James installed dig defense all around the front porch with a 2-way entry/exit point for Mom to come and go as she pleased. About 10 days after James installed the 2-way, the mother and her 8 kits were spotted in the evening rummaging around. Unfortunately, the next day, some of the kits fell into a window well and within an hour of me contacting James, he rearranged his day and arrived on scene to help get the kits out. By placing some boards into the window well to create a ramp to climb out, mom was able to retrieve each of her kits and return them to the den. That evening, we converted the entry/exit into a one-way so they were able to exit but not return. The skunk family moved on and James since installed the final piece of dig defense to fully enclose the front porch. The program lasted a few weeks, and all throughout James was attentive and showed up when we really needed him. We are very thankful for his initial recommendation as mom and her 8 kits survived and moved on. Its clear that James is a lover of all animals and we really appreciated that. Thanks James and the team at Lavellan, we really appreciated the help!

I don’t typically leave reviews but James went above and beyond with the level of service he provides. The Google 5 stars this company and him have received are 100% deserved. 7 months ago we go some bed bugs from where we have no idea. I did some research and called around, James was super fast in replying and provide advise and education about the problem. He made us feel so comfortable with his professionalism and walking us through the problem. We arranged an appointment a few days later and the treatment was done with a promise of a 6 month guarantee on the treatment. 4 months later we notice the bugs had returned, a quickly email that night to James and the next morning he called back to arrange an follow up appointment no questions asked. Its been 7 months now and no bugs. Add on, even through it’s been past the 6 month guarantee, James continue to provide the highest level of service. We notice a tiny bug in the bathroom one night and quickly took a pic and sent it to him, within 20min he had replied advising us of what it could be but definitely not bed bug. Amazing service , professionalism, honesty and responsiveness.

We used Levellan to remove a pigeon nest and install a barrier so they did not return about 2 weeks ago. From the initial quote total the service, James was professional, on time and did great work. He took the time to explain his decision for the wire mesh vs. the spikes and at no time did I feel pressured to go with one over the other. James was one of two quotes I received for a squirrel infestation in my attic. Right away, James had the advantage - he was lovely to chat with on the phone and very knowledgeable on the issue I was describing. I'm a new homeowner and had never had to deal with pests. He took the time to explain how the critters worked and how to mitigate the issue. He provided an initial quote over the phone that was subject to change after the in-person inspection. James came to my home the next day to complete the inspection at the time he indicated the day before. He identified two additional entry/exit points the other company did not and had quoted a lower price. Because of this, his services were selected. James came back the following day to install the prevention methods in the entry/exit points. James definitely did a great job with the installation - after he left I could hear the little jerks trying to break in again but they were unsuccessful. Within three days, all the squirrel sounds and sightings stopped and they seem to have gone away for good. I have peace of mind because James' guarantees his work too! Not only was James extremely good at his job, he was also wonderful to deal with. He was warm, professional and had quick response times. His prices are great and the work he does is even better! James is so awesome! I found his company name online and emailed him in a HUGE panic as I thought I had mice in my attic! I have a mouse phobia and I was a real mess! He replied to me quickly and was so kind in his email; I immediately felt better. I could tell that he was knowledgeable and I felt like he understood my anxiety and was really wanting to help solve my problem. He agreed to come out (that day!) and assess the situation for me. After checking things out (he even peeked up in my attic to assure me that there wasn’t hundreds of mice running around like I feared...such a nice guy!) and settling my nerves, we came to the conclusion that it was most likely a squirrel that had come in and out (there was a piece of soffit that had come down but we fixed after I heard the noises in my attic). He didn’t try to sell me something that wasn’t required, but suggested that I just wait it out to see if the squirrel was trapped up there, before doing anything further. I so appreciated the honest advice and just having him come out, calmed me down so much. Although my problem seems to have fixed itself (the squirrel has not caused any further issues), if it hadn’t, I would have definitely called James back to do the squirrel exclusion program that we discussed. He absolutely knew what he was doing and I could tell that solving the problem was most important to him. He is also a really friendly and personable guy! ???? I would fully recommend this company and will call James if anything comes up for me in the future. He is a lifesaver!
