I'm not sure if the other reviews are fake or not given they are from accounts with 1 single review. Completely and utterly disappointed at the service we have received. We spent 2 months with this company to address our pest problem with no improvement. $750 gone with no change. We have had 3 treatments by this company and each time, we have had to move all furniture and empty out every drawer, cupboard and space, then box every item in the treatment areas into cardboard boxes. We've had to do that 3 times now, extremely time consuming, having to live out of cardboard boxes and with no improvement. The kids who would come do the work would be done and gone within 10 minutes. Barely explain the process, only one would talk as the other wouldn't even interact or introduce himself. 10 minute job for $250 doesn't make much sense. Their website says "guarantee" but did not follow through or mention it in any interaction and when emailed about it, never responded.
They came back one last time, said they couldn't find any trace of bugs and refused to do another treatment even when we insisted for good measure and will pay for it. We found 4 bugs alive and healthy later that evening. Unacceptable...
We have decided to go with another company who explained that a treatment process for our issue takes a minimum of 45 minutes to complete and said it should never take 10 minutes as with this company. The other company also priced us at half the cost of Academy. Academy was very unprofessional and observed more concerned with a quick job for their money. My recommendation is to shop around first before going with Academy. They treat you like an ATM only contacting you asking for payment but not returning calls or emails asking about why their solution isn't working. Only doing band aid solutions with no permanent solution.
My feedback to Academy is to train your very young staff on proper professional interactions with clients, especially when entering their home. The other young man who came walked right in, didn't introduce self, didn't say a word, he could've easily been a stranger, then walked with muddy shoes onto our carpets. As well, if your methods aren't providing any clear resolution, please spend more time to express what actions your company would do to ensure client satisfaction. Rather than a quick 2 minute phone call to say how much money we owe. Further, properly assess the problem to see where you need to target. You did not do this, the other company we switched to did this though. The other company spent an hour on first visit opening baseboards and flooring to see where the problem was and it was in the kitchen under the stove baseboard. The kids that Academy Pest Control sent to our place spent less than 10 mins spraying randomly even spraying a lot in our bedroom on the other side of the house when we said we never saw any bugs there. The other company said they shouldn't have done that, and that Academy should properly assess the house to see where the problem is to limit the amount of chemicals used in the house and expose to the inhabitants.
UPDATE: After 1 day with another company, we had extreme improvement for less than half the cost Academy charged us. 1 month later with new company and no bugs have been seen. The tech that came with the new company read over the receipts of Academy Pest Control and stated that the chemicals (listed) that Academy Pest Control used are not supposed to be used for our bug problem and is the reason Academy wasn't effectively addressing our problem. He also stated that's why the receipts showed Academy kept switching chemicals to use each treatment, showing Academy didn't properly assess the problem (which they never did, Academy just came and sprayed random areas without even checking where the problem was). The new company also spent time opening baseboards and moving flooring and saw immediately where the problem was. Academy never did that and that also shows why they spent less than 10 mins at our place. It is unfortunate we spent so much money with Academy.
