We had a hornets nest on the second floor of our house, hidden in the soffit and/or wall. My normal pest guy said he couldn't do it without help from a handyman...blah blah. Truly Nolen quoted me $295+tax. These guys did it for $125+tax. The employee was friendly, clean cut, professional and had the right tools. Took him less than 15 minutes and they guarantee the work for 100 days. Paid by visa. Would definitely use them again.

Please stay away from this company. I have had a problem with voles and called them for their service. The technician came out and committed to getting rid of the problem and guaranteed service for a year. He even indicated that they would escalate it to the second stage if the pellets did not work - well the pellets did not work. When I called them again, they coolly told me that the first year is only the first season and not a year. If I wanted their service again, with the escalated treatment, I would have to pay another $550. Please beware of this with their hidden underlying protocols. Please note that they never guaranteed anything for more than 30-90 days depending on how much you pay them. You only learn about that much later.BUYER BEWARE

Abell Pest Control was fairly good in removing a Wasp next from our backyard. The person who visited Shawn was courteous and professional and on time. I only wish he had come back to remove the nest after treating it because when we tried to remove it (after 3 days as instructed by him) I got stung by a wasp - a few were still lurking. Also I found the cost to be pretty high for what was 30 minutes of work but I could live with that had I not been stung by a wasp after the treatment.

Terrible. We have been annual customers, but when the mice seemed to have gone, they stopped coming and so the mice came in again. Initially, the rep didn't even find the spots that the land lord ended up identifying and fixing. Now mice are back because no one has even been here to check in on us. They relied on us to book appointments which are supposed to be regularly scheduled visits. Shannon only came last minute when she could squeeze us in because she was in the area and if that last minute text didn't work, she failed to follow up and reschedule. What kind of company takes your money and then doesn't do the thing? I called three times this week looking to make an appointment and was told I would receive a call back 3 times and nothing. The woman on the phone was not interested in my feedback. I was given an email to write to and no response. I see a lot of 5 star ratings on here which might be for one-time solutions, but I am thoroughly disappointed with their so-called "service."

We have used Abell pest control at our resident for bedbugs inspection and there tech Mr Atif Sharif honestly did inspection and told there are only couple of summer bugs and not bedbugs.Before we called a company not sure but i think Ecopest and the tech said we have bedbugs and it would cost us $1200 for a 3 bedroom house.Abell Tech saved my $1200 by giving me realistic inspection report.I strongly recommend to call only Abell as there techs are very professional and honest.

Brendan C. from Abell was the technician who helped me out with my mice infestation. I just want to be as clear as possible here: he was fantastic! From start to finish he never let me down, and consistently made me feel like everything was going to be alright. Because he knew how mice and any of their byproducts made me dry-heave, he went the extra-mile and vacc'd up the mess in several places, which I'm pretty sure isn't in their job description. They sprayed my condo for cockroaches, a week after i called and told them there are still cockroaches in my unit and the rep on the phone advised me i have to give it minimum a month for them to die off however if i still have cockroaches in my to DEFINITELY call them as they will go in and respray but has to be after 1 month. Now i have called today at 1 month and 4 days in and the lady on the phone first says that after a month they do not do treatment for free when i was told by the first rep that i have to wait a month and then after the lady on the phone says that there is no warranty on condos and they cannot help me. Worst money spent

Honestly a terrible company and the experience I had with them was traumatic. I would never allow them in my home again. They were treating my old building for bed bugs after someone brought them in, they spread. Shawn with Abell tried to make me feel like I was crazy, I would show him the bed bug in a zip lock bag and he acted like I staged it there or something and that it was crazy that I thought (knew) I had bed bugs. He tried to say I got them from work. Despite him treating over half of the building for bugs. After realizing how useless he was I decided I had to move, and I did. I do home care and was terrified of bringing them to my clients home. Fast forward six months after I move out, I see an ad for the exact unit I lived in, someone posted it for sublet and I already knew they must have been trying to get out of their lease because of the bed bugs. I sent them a message to tell them to get a doctor's note and get out of the lease that way. The poor lady who barely speaks any English said that Shawn made her feel like she was crazy too, Shawn also said that she brought them from work, and Shawn knew full well that they were in there prior to this lady moving because I had them when I was there. He acted completely clueless knowing full well that I went through hell with them a few months prior. They gave her the same old story and I couldn't believe it.. Terrible company, huge money grab. I guess if there was no bed bugs Shawn and many of his co workers would be out a job. Why else would he have no interest in getting rid of them? He's unprofessional, not trustworthy and I wouldn't allow him in my home again. I've been making sure everyone I know is aware of what this company is doing and will continue to do so.

I purchased the Seasonal Vole program from Abell which is a little more expensive but it was guaranteed for the season to get rid of the voles plus they visit your home several times to check on the traps. Our neighborhood is riddled with voles as we live near a field. I had around 30 holes in one 10 foot section along my concrete walk and they were tearing up my grass. Shannon quickly assessed the situation and within a few weeks, I was no longer worried about voles. Shannon is amazing, a true professional that always has a smile. I would highly reccommend Abell if you need pest control in Calgary.

"He was new, we'll send someone back out as soon as we can." 2) That person they were going to send? I called Abell to schedule an appointment to have my yard sprayed for wasps. I had advised the representative on the call that there were NO nests, the representative advised the areas the wasps are around would be sprayed and along perimeter of the yard. I was quoted $125-$175 for these services. I was okay with this as I am willing to pay the cost for spray to be able to enjoy my yard and booked them to come on May 22nd. Abell showed up, was in my yard for maybe 15 minutes, told me they couldn’t see a nest and that they would not spray or do anything else. They then asked for payment of $99.75. I explained this was not the service I was quoted to receive. I do not understand why I am being charged almost $100 when I didn’t receive any services I made the appointment for, absolutely no action was taken. I was not told someone would only be coming to my yard for 15 minutes to tell me there were no nests (which I already knew there were no nests and had told Abell on the call when I booked the appointment for spray). I explained this to the representative at my home requesting payment of $99.75, she advised that I must have been mislead by the new girl in the office who took the call. I called the Calgary office requesting an explanation of this. They have since voided the charge. Initially 1 star, have changed to 3 for making things right.

Contacted Abell because I saw they had a satisfaction guarantee on their website and we needed wasps removed from our front door (and I am highly allergic). Technician Gerry came and sprayed and told us that he’d keep coming back as long as the wasps were still there and that the wasps would eventually give up. After 1 spray wasps were back so we had Gerry come by again. Then a couple weeks later we called and were told that Gerry was no longer with the company and that they would only do 1 more spray. The final spray did nothing wasps are still incredibly active. Abell did not resolve our wasp issue, just took our money and gave us empty promises.

If there is 0 star option I would give them that. Their service people give no notice. They just call and say they are in the area and need access right away. After I ask that they schedule another time as I am at work they said they'll cal back but don't. Then they do it again weeks later. So they never really do the service. Then they send me to collections because they sent the invoice to the wrong address. When I called in, Crystal on the phone took my payment, but when I tried talking to her about how they didn't really provide the service and they need to give people some notice she hung up on me.

Twice I have called Abell and BOTH times found then totally useless. Really for over$300 all they did was place a few poison bait traps around the house. They came up 6 times in 3months and happily told me none of the bait had been eaten but the hole they chewed was really large. The LAST time they came - of course just after my 100 day guarantee had lapsed, I was cheerfull told that, well, maybe it was RAT!!! Called a FABULOUS company, Pestend, who came up and checked everything after IMMEDIATELY determining we had a rat. Rat exit door was installed, rat bait trap left, and extra mouse bait left. Our attic was inspected as was our roof. So very thorough. 100% satisfied with Pestend. NEVER CALL ABELL.

We discovered a wasp nest in our hood fan exhaust vent and Our technician Jeff came and took care of the problem. He was great with my kids and took extra care and time to prevent any interactions with the wasps as well as ease my youngests fears of the wasps getting in the home. I highly recommend these guys. Spoke to Rebecca who said she needed to pull my paper work from last year. She said she'd call me back but by the next day she still hadn't called. I called her back and she never apologized just told me she found the papers she needed this morning, its 2pm so why she didn't call me back is a mystery. My original call was to ask how much it would cost to have them come out and place more bait traps so I'm not sure why this took so long. She then tells me she has an opening in a couple weeks, well that's great and still has nothing to do with my initial question of how much it will cost to come out and put more bait traps out. This was just a waste of 2 days trying to find out a price. If your not sure of the price just say so and please if you say your going to call a customer back than do so or atleast apologize when you forget. I guess they don't respect me as a customer enough to have any customer service.

We have a fly problem which Abell Mis-diagnosed - not just a technician but an entomologist was involved. Diagnosis consisted of taking a photo of what we were infested with, seeing house plants nearby, and automatically assuming the bugs came from plants. Today, a different company inspected and determined they were inside of condominium. Abell also showed up in October and weren’t wearing a mask in my house. When my landlord called and got hold of the tech, they were also extremely rude and unprofessional. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. Don’t use Abell, trust me.
