This Park is included in the category of Park.
Nice park to visit, though no one seems to clean up after thier animals. Otherwise beautiful.
Great venue for outdoor events
Park provided many open green spaces to play games and enjoy time with loved ones. Well worn bike path along the river and paved pathways for walker and runners. Fire pits and picnic tables through out the park provides a variety of possibilities.
If you have small children the hill next to the toboggan slide is fun and safe to slide on. Once the toboggan slide opens, it is the best one in the city.
Always a great visit no matter what season. Spring break so ger rid of the snow! Now!
Great pond to skate on in the winter!
If you like to watch geese and ducks this is a perfect place for that. Also there's a beautiful playground like a castle for children.
St Vital Park is another example our lovely parks here in Winnipeg. Walking paths along the river are quite scenic. There are numerous benches on the trails if you need a breather. Lots of room, watch out for goose droppings, seriously, watch out. Beautiful park.
We came to walk around on the ice with our baby. There's fire pits and stuff which was awesome!
Great 4 seasons park. Winter has a wonderful toboggan run that's like a beginner luge course plus a built in warming hut. The duck pond converts to an incredible skating rink with its own glassed in Pavillion with picnic tables and washrooms. Heated in the winter. There is also a maintained fire pit with seating for roasting marshmallows or just enjoying the ambiance.
Good place to ride your bike through. Lots of trails, paths, places to sit and rest.
Well maintained paths through a beautiful canvas. Perfect for an afternoon walk with someone special.
I did not know just how incredible this gem of a park is until recently. Although it is right by a major highway, I found it peaceful. There were many people at the park when we visited. Some had set up bonfires or small picnics despite the weather being less than 10 degrees. It was good to see people out and about doing their best to be safe and stay within their bubble. Walking around this park made me realize what a gem we are fortunate to have on the Southside of the city, and I will most likely be visiting again. Bonus: We ran into a family of deers.)
One of my favorite places to visit and just walk around and enjoy yourself!!! It is a wonderful park, but don't take my word for it you should go and visit the park for yourself and see if it's as great as I think it is! I hope you enjoy yourself!!!
Nice park. Scattered picnic tables and benches. Picnic shelters available, as well as fire pits. Nice pond, sometimes with scary geese nearby. Geese 0/10 do not recommend, but park recommended.
Pretty park, lots of green space and paths. Duck pond
Best in Winnipeg for walking, gathering and activity. It has volleyball grounds, soccer field, flower garden, duck and geese pond, hike and bike routes, picknick seats and fire pits, boat lunching dock, and nice red river view.
Large park. Playground , soccer fields , duck pond , new shelter heated in winter for ice skating ,( pre covid ) , toboggan run and boat launch.
Lovely open space beautiful for walks around the Duck Pond great for family picnics spaces for laying out your food and the kids can play right beside you in the grass or over in the playground. A great multipurpose park to enjoy the great outdoors in a big city.
Brautiful place to spend time can drive roght in and sit byvthe water and enjoy a sunset
Great space on Winnipeg. Went on the August long weekend Monday evening, lots of cars parked, bug people were peppered all over so it didn't feel at all crowded. The play structure was humming with activity. The washrooms by the play area are a shipping container refurbished, its brilliant.
A lovely park to walk or sit and have a picnic. I normally go and have supper and read for awhile. One must always be mindful of the Canadian Geese especially when they are nesting.
Beautiful park with lots of good walking trails and benches.
Geese (and sometimes ducks) are not afraid to be near people. Cool biking trails, too
Cute park that is rarely busy. Nice walks and lots of area for kids to play. Also has a boat launch
First time being the very nice spot to have get togethers. Had 2 of the employees come and question us about if it was paid for demanding proof that it was paid for. Then said just here to check the garbages. Very rude. Bathrooms farely far away from you, if you have the squirts your better off crapping in the bush.
Its good but need some more attention
There's nowhere to buy food/snacks or even water. Bathrooms are not great. Geese poop everywhere but that's understandable.
Cute pond, beautiful green area to take a walk, bike, spend time outside. Great for a few hours trip with kids. A chance to meet a lot of Canadian geese, ducks and other wildlife.
Beautiful park with a modern 3 season glassed picnic spot overlooking the duck pond. Trees are well grown giving a nice forest feel.
This park is so chilled and relaxed. I'm just happy to be able to spend a few hours beside the fire and watching the skaters. My and Puppy love walking there
Love iceskating there. They have a place where you can change the kids and put your skates on. The duck pond has a great size and we always meet families with kids there.
Beautiful park with lots of winter activities. Lovely skating pond and cross country ski trails. Well maintained trails.
Best picnic every!!! Hit me up if you need a similar experience
Absolutely beautiful place, especially if you're fond of geese as they tend to nest there! There's a lot of trails to run too. On certain days, it can get congested as there are many PoGo stops there though. Just be mindful of when you go, I guess.
Beautiful little park with a duck pond Nd brand new building, several different interesting and quiet paths and routes to explore. Very nice morning spent here!
Just beautiful - ducks nice, geese are bigger and a bit domineering. That said, a real pleasant place to go.
Such a beautiful park to have picnics, to let kids play, for a nice walk or the fitness trail
A lovely park to take a stroll, see the gardens, have a picnic or view the duck pond. There are many paths to take, both inside the forest and along the grass.
Nice park. Went on a rainy day. Not all the paths are mulched so ended up with LOTS of mud on my shoes. Goose poop is everywhere and can be disgusting. Still, I can imagine on a nice day it could be quite lovely.
Lovely park. Nice place to walk and see geese/ducks
The walking path around the lake is pleasant;what’s more, The park gives you the breathtaking view of the river.
It's a great place to enjoy the sunshine. The water foul smell funny
This park is tucked away in St. Vital off River Road. The highlight of this park is the duck pond with a beautiful walking trail along the perimeter of the pond. Great place to take the family for a picnic, cycling, running trails, ot just a nice walk to enjoy the view! Highly recommended!
Lovely park. Lots of benches, garden space, pond, and fire pits. Indoor restrooms are a great plus! Space to heat up in after skating too.
Beautiful and peaceful park for a morning or evening walk.
You can have good views and there's bbq places, duck pond and a dock
I love this park... its seems so under rated...but it's huge... across seeing the other park... lots of fire pits... and in winter the deers are so pretty to watch
Best park in Winnipeg per square foot. Lots of well kept, wooded trails. Great river views and duck pond.
a wonderful place where you can enjoy with the family or do your walking or jogging routine
Not the city's best or brightest. No bike path, nowhere to buy a drink or sandwich. Don't expect much.
This was a great location for our staff event. Skating and bonfire were perfect on a beautiful winter evening for family outing.
In my opinion, this is the best park in Winnipeg. It is just beautiful and is perfect for long walks on a summer day.
It's was pretty good to shop over there????❤???? I will go back to it every week
One of the finer parks in Winnipeg. It also has a busy boat launch onto the Red River.
Awesome place!!went for ice skating in duck pond, huge area for ice skating and very cozy room for warm up your self, and washrooms are also available.
It is a clean, beautiful park..lots to do there.
Nice park, very well kept. Good views of the Red River. Has a boat launch. Love the paths, great for both pedestrians and cyclists.
Very nice playground and pretty park.
Enjoyed the firepits available around the park with adjacent picnic tables and garbage cans. When we visited last night, a raccoon enjoyed the garbage buffet, very noisily I might add. Lol In good company though. Place could use a few more road lamps. It can be dark along the road if you park in the wrong spot. Deer and coyotes have been spotted here so be careful.
Nice experience. We got alot of pictures
Love the place: close by, decent within city park, has a dock, has a play structure, place for tobogganing, and areas for bbq, and lots of geese.
We like St. Vital park and especially enjoy the gardens and walking around the duckpond. Overall are satisfied with the launch. But there isn't enough parking for trucks & trailers after you've launched and there is often quite a long wait to go in or out with a boat. I think its ridiculous that you can't launch from anywhere in Fort Garry/Fort Richmond (there should be one at Crescent Drive Park). And the Maple Grove Park launch is still closed & the city councillor's office for that area says it's not a spending priority so it will not reopen this year. It can't honestly that that much $ to clean the debris off of it and get it usable again.
My Family Enjoys the park & feeding the Birds.
One of the best parks in the city
Great place to get outside during a covid winter or even a regular winter. Includes, plenty of space to walk, cross country ski trails (groomed), a duck pond to skate on and fire pits.
Always a great experience! Fields and paths are well maintained. It's a great way to get away from the city bustle for a hot minute
Such a beautiful park. Clean quiet. Lots to do and see. Duck ponds. Paved paths throughout. By the river. Large trees and flower gardens.
This park is best place to spend some quality time with ourselves as well as with family members. For children, slides as well as swing are available. There is a pond in the middle, where one can find a lot of geese. Red River is right next to the park. The peaceful environment of the park is worth experiencing.
Love our local parks, even in Spring, so much water!
The park has various amenities for people of all ages. It is clean and well-maintained.
Great park, beautiful wood chip walking paths, right along the Red River, large duck pond in the middle, children play area, large field for playing ball. Lots of parking. Beautiful place for a picnic. Will be back again
Great outdoor! It have a fitness trail, trail along the river. Fire pits, play areas for kids, there are a couple of soccer grounds, beach volley balls etc. Please try it.
Great place for a quick skate. Ice a little rough, but the rest area is great place to dress, get skates on and warm up. Also has indoor washrooms and an outdoor fire pit seating area.
Family friendly park. Can get busy sometimes
Love it, usually very clean and nice. Wondering if some kind of filter can be put in the pond so the ducks and such aren't swimming and eating in gross water?
St. Vital Park. A great place for wholesome park based activities and old school marymaking. Bonus activities include dodging Canada geese and fawning over baby ducks. Boat launch can be fun, but maybe avoid canoes, unless you are going downstream and have a pickup point. Also fun in the winter for toboggan run and skating.
Nice and huge park.
Always an amazing place to go with the family. The duck pond as well as the forest/riverside trails are all great attractions that never get old.
My family and I enjoyed in park.
Nice place for hiking winter or summer, day or night
It is great super busy but it is one of the best
Road works in St Vital park this season require a bit of extra thinking as some roads are closed off for asphalting. Overall still a great experience for families and on-leash dogs. Plenty of bins to drop garbage. Lovely to see SVP being upgraded and revitalized for future generations to enjoy.
An all season park, St. Vital is perfect for any outing. Cross country skiing, skating on the duck pond, beach volleyball, and soccer. The small but bountiful flower gardens is perfect for a selfie. Curving with the Red River this hidden gem in St.Vital may become your new favourite Winnipeg outdoor destination. A newly renovated warming hut and indoor bathroom makes this accessible to all. The playground also hosts bathrooms housed inside old semitrailers. The only negative is the new toboggan runs. Although architecturally beautiful, the runs are slow and the little natural hill gave us far more laughs.
Flower garden is in full bloom absolutely beautiful
Great park inside the city, beautiful location with lots to do.
Grate place to have fun with the kiddos
Beautiful park on the Red River. Definitely recommend to visit.
St Vital Park is beautiful year round. Four season park to go for a walk, bike, ski, toboggan, picnics, run, roller blade, sun tan, read a book, play volleyball/football/soccer, wedding/grad fotos, dock your boats. Spring brings out the flowers, the geese & ducks come back to the park which they call home. Even the winter months with white sparking snow covering the ground & touching the trees can take your breath away. It was great to see families/friends/or people alone enjoying the great outdoors & hearing joy/laughter as these past months have been difficult. This was a peaceful warm Sunday afternoon which I spent amazing four hours enjoying what I luv most outdoors & taking fotos ???? August 8, 2021 - 31C hot with a nice breeze for a walk in the park. People were out with family, grandchildren, celebrating special occasions today. It was a real blessing to see. It has been a hard year & half. The fresh air was good for the lungs. Of course after my walk I went to my car to get the bird seed for the geese and ducks. I sat & walked along the pond feeding my feathered friends. It was a relaxing mid-morning to afternoon for me. Just what I needed. Good for the soul ????
Very peaceful place to bring the family, or to just escape the business of the city. I bring my kids here at least twice a week. And it's also a great place to play pokemon go.
Always beautiful to visit St.Vital Park and watch the Red River flow by in the summer months and enjoy all the wonderful wildlife. We are very lucky to have such a FANTASTIC Park available to Winnipeger's.
It's a calm, nice and lovely park. Excellent place for relaxing, having a picnic or bringing kids to have some fun.
Beautiful park! I went there as a kid many times.
A nice and quiet park. A lot of animal waste though. Kind of comes with the territory. Only wish they didn't close down a bunch of the pokestopes in there.
Beautiful place for everyone. Excellent play structure for kids, the pond is a nice place to sit and watch the ducks! Great way to spend a day.
The duck pond smells like a swamp. There was a clan of Main Street types having a hotdog roast and drinking booze out of paper bags. They got hostile when I got too close, I was just trying to get to my car. When I did get to my car I noticed that the 20yr old minivan they drove (from the northend or pukitawagin I'm sure) was parked next to my car and there was an empty beer can on the ground. I felt like I was in the city center.
Gorgeous place to visit, nice place to have a family BBQ or some alone time. Great walking paths as well! The only thing I dislike is all the geese.
Went tobogganing with the kids and they have a warming area that's underneath the toboggan slides where you can go inside a room to warm up and I went skating as well on the pond. Both areas have a firepit so u can warm up outside as well if you get cold .Must say I had lots of fun with the kids !
Beautiful scenery If you love nature and lots of trail to walk. Has a playground that is great for kids too.
great place to be with kids and friends..has volleyball nets and good to walk your dog. Loved it.
Beautiful relaxing park.
Nice park. Nice playground. Cool pond for the ducks and geese. The only complaint is that road construction is currently making navigating the park a bit challenging.
One of the favorite parks in Winnipeg. Lots if different paths to walk through it and it also combines a pond , the river and a forest. There is a very nice, well taken care of, flower garden too. Facilities are clean.
The baby ducks were cute, the geese chasing us weren't. I was around the pound are only, this review is for that area only... it's scary. Not comfortable, and the area doesn't seem to be cared for, the bathrooms are clean though so that is a major plus.
I grew up in Transcona, so I didn't know this park existed. What a gem. Great for kids or just spending the day as a destination for you and some friends.
Great place to walk all seasons.
St Vital park is a beautiful spot to explore regardless of season. In the Winter, you can skate on the duck pond, do some cross-country skiing, use the toboggan run for sliding or check out the abundance of trails. In the summer, feed the ducks at the duck pond, bring the kids to the play structures, catch a game of volleyball, or host a picnic. The opportunities here are endless!
Nice park: playground, duck pond, accessible toboggan run, trails, views of the river.
Great place to see ducks and geese. One of my favourite parks in Winnipeg.
Simply biked around the park a little. Enjoyed the big trees, open green spaces and rough brush areas. Fresh smooth road.
Beautiful park, but the pond is very dirty. Wish it was a bit cleaner, the paths around the pond are covered with birds poop.
Global consciousness it was amazing to proply, love, gratitude, & awareness of one. Even in minus 33, in the moonlight with a candle lite. The security was kind to just wait at the exit for us to be done, it was just after 10pm.
A beautiful park with lots of parking, open spaces and fire pits. A great place to spend an evening, just watch out for all the geese.
The park is beautiful and quiet, we saw some squirrels running around and the river looks calm.
Nice pond with aerating fountains, geese and ducks
St. Vital Park is home to many birds throughout the spring, summer, and autumn months, including ducks (mallards, wood ducks), Canada geese, crows, etc. Chickadees and blue jays are seen throughout the year. Occasionally one may glimpse the deer that reside here. The park is popular with dog walkers, joggers, and community sports teams. The park also includes two playgrounds for the younger and older children to enjoy.
An awesome place to spend your evenings. The duck pond, the river trail, children play area, plenty bbq.... its great for evening walk
The new toboggan slide is amazing and the ice skating and warm up building are wonderful too. There have been some great improvements done here in the past few years!
once everything starts to grow it will look great right now it's just looks like we just getting over winter.
A beautiful place for picnic. Hired the Oak picnic shelter. It was very dirty. One of the wooden benches had broken off, several people in our group got hurt and cut on the legs from the pieces of wooden sticking out. There were also metal and nails on the floor were the bench had broken. Quite dangerous as kids were running around the area. We could not use the BBQ pit as there no grill. What is the point of paying $111 for four hours when you get a dirty unkept facility and no BBQ pit to use.
Great park with really good amenities!!
Gorgeous park and full of life, great place to BBQ with the family and go walk on a date or just chill with your best friend.
Park to go for a morning walk, evening leisure walk or just to sot by the river and enjoy the duck pond !
St. Vital Park is a good place to explore anytime if year with the duck pond ( now a well maintained skate pond ! Tobbaggn runs are excellent !
Very lovely park with enough parking lot for vehicles
Beautiful environment to relax and enjoy nature. A place to rediscover yourself again.
Clean, many garbage and recycling bins available. The bathrooms where open near the park. Which was helpful when taking a potty training toddler to the park!
A beautiful park and an enjoyable walk. Clean washrooms.
It's a beautiful park! Lots to see, lots to do, lots of geese poo.
Very fun park to walk the dog. Lively with skating and fun all around. Be sure to wear a mask!
Very clean and peaceful park to visit great place for family picnic and activities. Large play structure available for the kids to play on
I always enjoy a great view of the sunset here.
Activities year-round, with significant recent upgrades to the picnic shelter/skating pond and toboggan slides. Not a big park, but a gem in the south end of the city.
Unbelievable great views, many spots for family BBQing.
Easy to park and walk...variety of spaces within a short distance...great for an afternoon or a quick visit...a lovely way to reconnect with nature.
A friend and I went hiking through the many trails in the park. It was varied and beautiful. I could not believe such a gem was in the city.
Lots of benches, lots of walking paths, pretty place!
Probably the best park in our city
The washrooms were out of order and the portable toilet was disgusting.
Great gardens, tons of waterfowl in the ponds, soft walking trails, fire pits and a boat launch. Not much else is necessary.
Great combination of wide open spaces, tree shaded paths and fun playgrounds.
Great city park with a pond you can skate on in winter.
This park has a lot of amenities. Hiking trails, boat launch, picnic areas, open fields for pickup ball games and even a duck pond. My favourite part of this park is that it usually isn't overly crowded and you can enjoy a peaceful hike through some wooded areas and finish up walking along the river.
Very well kept good place to go just wish I would stay open another hour
A fantastic place to visit as always. Lots of great trails, good facilities, and tonnes of space with some nice scenic views!
Nice park. But remember to reserve your spot ahead of time by calling 311. Otherwise, grumpy groundskeeper will come by to remind you and possibly kick you out of the spot reserved for someone else.
I liked that there was lots of little areas that small groups could gather and there's barbeques and tables in all of these areas as well.
Often a peaceful place to go for a nice walk, or to enjoy the wild life. On my most recent visit, my best budds and I enjoyed a smokie at one of their many fire pits.
Nice place for walking, joging and picnics. Good for family fun and for meeting with friends.
Great park. Lots of different options and spaces for everyone.
The "Duck Pond" is quite disappointing, someone needs to pump some water into that water feature. The geese are friendlier here than other places I've been but I suppose they're used to crowds. The rest of the park is very parky, although I did appreciate the toilet facilities.
There are some scenic river trails, and lots of mature trees make it a good place for solitude. The playground and the pond are hits with the kids. There are migrating waterfowl on the pond during the season. In winter a good size pond for skating.
Great city park with excellent amenities and beautiful view of the red river. If you are just in the mood for a stroll with your pup, sliding with the kids, skating, or cross country skiing this is the place for you. Ample parking and no cost admission. Summer offers nice trails picnic areas, large fields.
Lots of trails for hiking. There is a duck pond and play structures. We saw a deer, as well as ducks and geese.
Relaxing, beautiful place for picnics and enjoying God's creation.
Beautiful park. Beautiful duck pond area.
This is a beautiful park every season of the year.
Beautiful park, lots to do! Flower garden, duck pond (skating in the winter), boat launch, soccer fields, beach volleyball, shelters for picnics, nice trails throughout.
This park is a great walk with little to no highway noise right in the St.Vital area. The duck pond amused my little one and the flower garden was still well kept into October.
Great park where to hang out, BBQ, play, jog, bring your dog, plan an outdoor pic-nic with the family, and more!
Beautiful day and 711 truck giving away free snow cones of your flavoured choice. Awesome day
Nice park to take a walk
Great space, not usually busy or over crowded. A smaller park so not easy to get lost. Nice lunch spots near the river and has newly renovated washrooms. LOTS of geese though.
Such a beautiful place to do activities all year round and at any time. Enjoy the sun or watch the stars!
Beautiful park to bike, walk or run through. Duck pond is really nice, boat launch available , excellent play area for kids. Quiet and scenic.
The walking paths are beautiful and the wildlife is a welcome sight while enjoying the weather. I definitely recommend a visit.
Really nice park. Haven't been here in awhile so it was nice to see all the changes that were there. The visitor center is rather beautiful and modern.
Beautiful park, and a great boat launch
Nice park. Bigger than it seems. I'm not fond of ducks and geese but if that is your thing there is a nice duck pond here. Aswell the park contains a boat launch onto the Red River. Great destination for Pokemon Go
One of Winnipeg's hidden gems. Beautiful park any time of the year. Great walking trails year round, great ice skating on the pond in the winter time. Lovely Pavilion area for indoor gatherings if the weather gets nasty. Washrooms are available as well.
Excellent place. Nice picnic spot near the red river.
Beautiful park with walking paths, right along the river. The new warming hut by the duck pond is great too. Saw several people meeting for lunch here.
I know some people are against it but it's really cool to go feed the geese and ducks at the duck pond here. Beautiful park. Lots of space to do your thing. Nice dock with a boat launch.
Wonderful park ...beautiful play structure
I absolutely love coming to this park to relax, especially if you sit on one of the benches facing the river. You'll be guaranteed to see lots of wildlife including Geese, Ducks, Squirrels, Butterflies, and other interesting birds.
Pond kinda stinks, otherwise a good park
It has nice bike, walking paths, beach volleyball courts, soccer field, kids play structures. There are lots of areas to BBQ. Newly renovated duck pond and social area. Not a very big park, but a very beautiful one!
Beautiful park. The new washrooms are excellent
This is a beautiful park to go to for a nice walk. I like that it's near the river for some really great views. Lots of places to picnic, and a great indoor facility.
This a beautiful place close to nature and hidden from the city. Once here feels like we are away from the city and deep in the bush. Well maintained. Fishing is another plus point.
The scenery here is quite beautiful, and there are many paths available for the average city person to enjoy hiking on. Aswell as some feilds and places to rest and cook up some barbecue. However. My concern is the lack up upkeeping I have noticed over the past years, especially during the spring. The place is amok. I recommend only going in the summer when it is more actively looked after.
Beautiful local park, free fire pits, duck pond, and skating rink during the winter. Be sure to visit all the biking/walking paths.
It was our first time there and it was amazing, this park is beautiful and offers frees spaces and slides to enjoy in winter with the family.
Fun park. Plenty of bathrooms by the duck pond and sheltered picnic tables. Only downside is fields are always covered in duck poo
My first time of going there and I had a thrilling experience. It's good for walking, retreat, and everything in between
Amazing place to play and rest
Beautiful, serene park with plenty of benches to watch the wildlife. Nice fire pits and an indoor picnic area.
Ver good soit for a family day or a picnic with friends (restrictions permitting). Also a great place for being outdoor and walking/biking!
Nice and quiet place to spend couple of hours, smaller kids can have more fun and activities!!!
Amazingly beautiful park
Beautiful park!!! Great for catching pokemon and getting some exercise
Very nice local park, all season
This park is a hidden gem in the south end of the city. Within the park there is a boat launch, a well maintained duck pond, plenty of bbq picnic sites, and a health size field for various activities. This park is close to home for me, and is probably my place to walk my dog. I look forward to visiting this park for many more years to come.
Very beautiful, small park. The duck pond is beautiful in summer... Even with all the geese ????
Nice and calm place to relax and spend time with your friends and family.....
Amazing park, clean, big and tons to do! We have our company picnic here every year! Theres a duck pond, playground, volleyball court and covered BBQ pits! Highly recommend!
Beautiful naturally Vergin natural beauty An ultimate positive vibes
Been coming here since I was a kid. Love walking through the botanical garden and along the river. Used to feed the ducks and geese when I was young and have fond memories of that. Park is always clean and there are amenities always near by no matter where in the park you are.
Nice park for a walk without having too much people around like at Assiniboine Park. During winter there is a great sled tobogan, and during summer tons of open spaces.
St vital park is a GEM in the city. Well laid out. BEAUTIFUL park. The place was packed with people playing soccer, etc. The smell of all the BBQs and fires was unbelievable. The boat launch is incredibly busy. The road is lined with trailers. I never knew there was a boat launch. Take the time and visit this hidden GEM. U won't be sorry.
Lovely place to have a picnic with your family and enjoy the day.
Space for long walks, local wildlife, shaded play structures... Great for families, couples, students looking for outside study break. Beautiful and fairly large park.
Great place to play Pokemon Go, The duck pond is great to skate on in the winter. In the summer probably one of the best places to enjoy the outdoors in Winnipeg
Beautiful park. In St. Vital. What more can I say? Skeet skeet!
Public washrooms closed. Port a potties provided. Lovely as usual.
Nice place to visit in the winter too! They had a fire pit by the pond with a healthy supply of wood. Made for a nice evening.
Excellent place to b if ur by urself. Time to think while ur walking. If there with family and friends great place to b. Plenty of room to have ur picnic and hangout. Great new play sturctuer for the kids. Beautiful flower garden which is my favorite
Great place to go for a walk. Love seeing baby geese
Beautiful park with lots of great trails for walking or running. There is a new playground for kids and fields for sports. The playground area is still under construction and you have to watch for goose poop (the geese love it here), which are the only reasons why I didn't give it 5 stars. There are some beautiful areas for taking family photos.
The park is always very lovely. With the duck pond shelter closed, they have porta potties, which, when we visited were really gross and had no toilet paper. There was also nowhere to fill up our bottles. It made it hard to spend the day there with kids.
Very nice park. Lots of space for activities. Plenty of seating and picnic benches. Only down side is the amount of geese in the summer.
Not so crowded park. It's nice to walk here. There is a garden if you want to take pictures.
My kids love this park. Great play structure, nice, clean trails, and bathroom facilities!
Nice park with trails, sport and picnick areas
I live just one block from the park and I love every visit to the park year after year after year in almost any weather and any season.
Always a lovely place to visit. Lots of areas to walk and explore. Plenty of space for soccer and get togethers. Beach volleyball courts are fun as well
Find a nice quiet spot and you'll really find it enjoyable
Park was packed today. So nice seeing people.users of the park be warned. They are only using porta potties right now and they are all full to the brim. Not sure why the public restrooms are not open. Would be way more sanitary
The park is a nice place to share with the family, I personally enjoy the playground with my kid, there are games for 2-5 and 5-12 years. You can find the bathrooms beside the playgrounds
I've come to st vital park since I was knee high to a grasshopper and still love it everytime. Though the park has undergone some changes over the years it remains in immaculate shape and is well tended, free of litter and pet friendly. I recommend this park in all seasons, but especially in winter, when the figure eight pond is converted into a skating rink.
Best park of Winnipeg. A walk around duck pond is freshening. Lots duck. Picnic sports n garden well maintained. Rest rooms clean.
It's a really beautiful place from the start of springs to early fall my family visit here very often, enjoying the river, the trees and helps us with some outdoor fun which is very much needed during current situation
Everyone was respectful of each other's spacing. This made it a relaxing place to get some fresh air and just listen to the birds chirping while watching the fountains spray their mist across the pond.
Great place to relax n watch the ppl enjoy ???? ????
St. Vital park is a wonderful place for any walk of life. There are wonderful places to picnic, have a family gathering, take a stroll along the river, duck pond, or through the woods. For those who are interested, St Vital Park has many Geocache locations as well as Pokemon for those playing Pokemon Go! The play structure area for kids is massive and well spread out, so that kids have room to play and run in between. There are bathrooms right in the play structure area during, as well as in the centre of the park. There is ample parking, but you may have to walk a bit during times.
My wife and I live near here. It's been such a nice park to visit often. Upside: lots of animals, downside: LOTS of animals
Really great area to visit with family or friends. Good dose of Nature in the middle of Winnipeg. Get out and breath it in. Lots of trails, the river, a beautiful pond and large flower garden, plenty of benches, grass, playgrounds. Parking can be a pain.
I love going to this park, although around the duck pond there is way too many geese, and goose poo. The rest of park is wonderful, scenic trails great gardens in the summer, and fields to play frisbee, soccer, and football. There is fire pits for cookouts, and a great children's playground.
Fantastic park in any season. Our young kids love the duck pond, especially in winter. The heated shelter makes skating enjoyable even at -15C. In a couple years they'll be ready for the toboggan slides. It's hilarious that people complain about goose poop and the park being 'boring' -- go to the mall if you want entertainment and a janitor!
Cute little park, good place to watch the ducks, picnic, or play frisbee
Nice get away from the city but in the city
ice skate here, nice place.
I love to walk around here in the summer alot. The only downside is that there are alot of geese in the area which means geese poop everywhere. The scenery is quite lovely and there are plenty of benches to rest at as well as play structures for children. The winter is also quite lovely they have a slide for sledding. In the middle of the park is a pavilion that you can warm up in with water fountains and washrooms as well as a seating area.
This is an oasis. A park within residences. There is a duck pond in the middle of the park. There'salso s long and short walking routes. This is also situated at a good location by the river. A very good place to consider for people with cars. Otherwise, it is a few minute walk from the gate to the duck pond.
Calm place for visit but no addition things to view
Lots of trails and area for biking and walking. Good amount of BBQ pits and picnic benches along the river. Nice pond area, with lots of birds and geese. There is a boat launch if you need it. Good picture taking in the fall.
Lovely spots for everyone to enjoy! Don't forget your hat, sunscreen, water and bug repellant!
I had not visited Saint Vital Park in 15 years. I loved the beautiful flower gardens, the huge duck pond with numerous fountains and the glass pavilion. Amazing!
Great park lots of trails and very kid friendly
Modern washroom facilities, great playground, lots of picnic sites and fire pits. Scenic duck pond and flower garden. Fishing in river. Bike and jogging trails. Sports fields. What more could you ask for.
Nothing is more SAINTLY than this park
Very nice park. The playgrounds had alot of things my 4 year old son could do unassisted. Lots of fields to kick the ball around or fly a kite. Would go there again for sure.
Lovely place to relax weekends and holidays.
Great place for families and groups of all sizes. Was very impressed with the more inclusive playground, the harness swings are a great addition! There were however, no drink recycling receptacles anywhere!?! City of Winnipeg needs to take care of this.
It smells / stinks. There is goose poop everywhere. No grass within 30 feet of the pond. When will the City give the park back to the people who pay the taxes. Note: there are signs that say not to feed the geese, however people do not ad hear to the signage.
Way too crowded today. People not socially distancing, nor wearing masks, and more than 10 people in one group. I will not return there as I did not feel safe. The parking lot was packed by the duck pond, and the parking at the boat launch was the same. Maybe, security issuing tickets to violators would have been in order.
Nice park, but lots of road construction, boat launch.
Gets very crowded on the weekends but still is a gem of a park. Plenty of walking trails and also parking space. Campfires are a good addition and there are ample garbage bins to throw garbage away.
Quaint smaller park located in southern Winnipeg. They have just renovated the toboggan slide which is simply beautiful. There is a warning hit along with washrooms. Further down the park, there is a duck pond which is well maintained as a skating area. There is a large building to change along with washroom facilities.
On the smaller side but very scenic park. Pretty flower gardens and can get some beautiful photos on the paths especially in the fall. Great place to feed ducks and geese or go skating in the winter. Nice seating area indoors and out as well as outdoor fireplaces. Parking could be controlled a little better on the street since it can get pretty crowded.
Love the new toboggan runs! So nice to show up nice small fires burning for families to enjoy on a winter night. Good job staff!!!
Decent park for walk, picnic, biking, duck pond and lors of geese in summer. This park usually has quite a few visitors.
A great park for families with plenty of walking trails.
Very nice park to spend some time with family
Went to this park for the first time with my girlfriend to go for a walk and look for mushrooms. We ended up staying for a lot longer than we expected because it's such a nice park. It's far easier to drive and park in than Assiniboine park and has less foot traffic in my opinion. Very nice park and we plan to go again.
Went to the toboggin run. Great fun and there is a fire pit available to keep warm. Kept the kids busy and tired them right out. Plastic toboggins work the best.
A great Winnipeg park. The duck pond is cleared of snow and flooded and great for skating. No hockey sticks allowed. Heated change building has picnic tables.
Duck pond to walk around, tons of grassy areas to sit and let children and pets play. Dogs must be leashed as there is no off leash area here. Picnic tables for get togethers and fire pits for making hot dogs, Smores, or just for sitting around at night. The entrance gate does close in the evening restricting entrance to the park at night. If you're a Pokemon Go player, there are plenty of Pokestops and multiple gyms to take. Common hang out place for Pokemon Go players to hang out and frequent EX Raid passes for gyms in the park.
Beautiful provincial park with well kept grounds and walking paths. Extra props to the groundskeepers for filling the bird feeders and giving some love to nature. A breath of fresh air in a city filled with angst.
I loving coming here on weekends to relax. It can be frustrating when people host family gatherings here as there is usually litter left on the ground after and the ducks/geese get chased and harassed by children.
Serene, beautiful, the trails are fixed up. Lots of little wildlife. Picturesque.
Healthy green park and a great place to relax.
Lovely park great place to visit friends during covid
Very nice park to visit amidst this pandemic... make it a reason to go out and unwind...
A beautiful place to spend the morning with your family. Lots to explore; the river, walking through the bush, the playground (which caters for young and older kids), the peace garden, volleyball and probably much more. Nice little BBQ picnic areas too.
Beautiful day but some of the walkways were not clear and very slippery. It is so important in these days to get out for fresh air.
We went skating and walking at the Duck Pond today. We went around 9:30 am, so it wasn't too busy yet. The ice was well-groomed, but there are a few cracks you need to be cautious of. There are lots of benches around the pond so you can put your skates on safely. There are porta potties there too, as you can't use the building right now. Beautiful scenery, a bonfire, and good social distancing!
Went here for pokemon go community day. Lots of poke stops, decent amount of gyms. The skating shack is within 2 poke stop. There's also two fire pits. Very friendly community, one lady was handing out hot chocolate free. I will go again!
A wonderful park to exercise, take the dog for a walk, or to get away and enjoy nature.
Was here for soccer, fields need some tlc but the walking paths and play structures are kid friendly. Great place to take the dog.
Good park, overall well kept, but decent amount of garbage around the park. Could use more garbage cans.
The kids playground is fully shaded, nice in the summer. Also, for once the WC is right there which is just so convenient.
Very nice place for family get away. If you have small kids, go to kids park they will have a fun blast over there.
Always a nice peaceful relaxing place to come to… Especially for a walk around the duckpond and see so many Canadian geese, Mallard ducks and some other birds… Oh yeah it’s a great place to play Pokémon go as well… LOL
Lots of small paths to explore and the duck pond is always beautiful. Kids enjoy the play structure as well. Very well put together area.
St.V. park has been my park since I was a child. The most beautiful park in he city. One thing, The park needs more picnic tables. We went at 5 PM on a Sunday, yes I know a busy time on a beautiful evening, but there seemed to be at least a dozen families on blackets in spaces where picnic tables could have been.
Very spacious, clean and beautiful. Lots of private areas to chill. Friendly park staff. Keep in mind it’s a one way road through the park
Always a good place to go jog, picnic or just get out with the family. Lots space for everyone to distance per household
Amazing nature and river trails. Great for picnics or fires. The duck pond is nice but there's no big attractions like the other big parks have
Fantastic park. Lots of green space and there's a fitness trail that runs throughout the park that offers runners a secluded path to run without traffic alongside them.
This park is close to home (15 minutes from our apartment), and has so much variety- walking trails, fitness trails, flower gardens, Peace monument, duck pond, so many geese, fire pits, picnic tables, benches, fishing and a great boat launch! And that's just in spring and summer and autumn. Winter opens up opportunities for skating, skiing, tobogganing, and snowshoeing.
Amazing park!!! Loved seeing it for the first time! Nice public washrooms, picnic tables, tons of birds!
Has a good number of amenities including flower garden, boat launch and soccer fields. A little small but still nice to visit.
It was a great place to visit with my granddaughter. It is a great place to take young children.
Beautiful place for a walk. My only issue is with how disgusting looking the pond water is. It would be nice if the city could fund a project to clean the water up and maintain it.
Spacious park with shelter, play structures, fire pits, picnic tables, play grounds, volleyball fields and nets and lots of parking spaces.
Met friends from out of town for a coffee/visit. The 4 of us enjoyed about 2.5 hours there. Picnic tables were clean & porta potties spotless!! Other folks enjoying time there as well as group of school kids with their teachers.
St. Vital Park is a beautiful park fir walking, running, skating or tobogganing in winter.
We absolutely love this place! It’s a peaceful escape from the city, inside the city!! A great duck pond, lots of friendly geese to feed, a beautiful flower garden, soccer fields, volleyball nets, a great playground with washrooms! Plenty of spots to set up a BBQ or picnic!
It's a beautiful park with a great boat launch as well. My family and friends love going there to relax and enjoy the scenery
It is a really beautiful and big park. Being by the river is also nice. Picnic and walking can be done. There is also a net for playing volleyball. And most importantly, there is a children's park :)
It was beautiful and clean lots of wildlife, birds, flower garden is outstanding, great place for picnic.
Lovely place to stroll around and sit in the midst of a nature. Surrounded by trees and river, watching people camp and do water sports. Ideal for runners and cyclists. A must visit place in Summertime.
A great place to walk with the family.
Good park and facilities for day camping. Children's can enjoy here.
Its really beautiful place. Good for picnic and walk, actually you can come here any time of the day, its good.
Nice place for a walk, watch out for the geese though they can be mean.
Great place but the pond has alot of algie now and construction noise is loud some days
Great well maintain Park. Always have fun at St. Vital park. Great memories, with family and friends.
Trails are well kept and the duck pond is a lovely feature.
The pretzel shop in St.Vital has the most rude employees I've ever met. Their service is so slow even during no rush and attitude towards the customer is disappointing. I would rather not eat pretzels than go there again
Unusualy very busy today. Nice weather and people wants to go somdwhere in the wild but close to home
Great place to go with family and friends to play soccer or volleyball, have just a bbq, go for a nice walk on the trails or around the duck pond. There's lots you can do at st.vital park one if my favorite places to go, you can even feed the ducks and the geese around the pond. The only down fall is you have to watch where you step as there is tons of goose poop and duck poop lying around. Wish they had someone to pick it up
This is the time of year to go see all the baby geese! Very beautiful park.
One of the best parks in the city for taking a load off. Walk the duck pond, feed the geese, bbq, bring a sandwich. Great picnic areas, beach volleyball and a boat launch.
One of my favorite park in winnipeg...
Nice and clean. Not alot of people. Some areas doesn't have dedicate foot path, so you might have to compete with passing vehicles.
Good place for social distancing while getting some exercise and fresh air. Lots of benches to sit on while you don your skates or skis. And fire pits if you want to warm up. Bring your own wood!
Quiet park in St.Vital. Great place to take your family in summer for bbq or to walk to trails along the Red River. Nice place to go skating in winter on the duck pond
Lovely maintained park. Walking paths, boat launch. Nice indoor eating area with fireplace for the cold days and indoor bathrooms. Skating on the duck pond in winter. Activity areas and BBQ grills located around the park just bring your own wood and food. Nice play structures on children play areas. Perfect area for wedding and engagement photos. Great for family or group outings such as church or community sport activities.
Beautiful park. Lots of trails
Went for scleroderma walk..weather was gorgeous and scenery was peaceful
We were geocaching at the park. Had time to find 3 caches. The park is nice and spacious and has interesting features like the duck pond and park. Possibility of poison ivy while geocaching.
Very much so is a park. The trees are great. Could use less people and more park. 5 stars
Great park! Everything you need is right there. Boat launch, walking and bike trails, picnic areas, field for throwing the ball or Frisbee. One of my favourite places in Winnipeg.
Its beautiful big and well maintained. There are many walking paths that are pet friendly and a huge duck pond filled with geese.
Beautiful park with lots of things to do. Great place to take your kids!
Very large park . Lots of birds. Boat launch great for walking biking.
Beautiful area thats peaceful and quiet with lots of wildlife. Unfortunately for some parts of the year, the park belongs to the geese. Luckily they're quite tame as long as you respect their boundaries.
Picnic in the park was awesome. We found a nice shady spot with picnic tables. Very hot day today!
It was really nice atmosphere especially seeing the ducks walking in group, really a lovely place to have a picnic
Always enjoy the wildlife and walking around this park. Has washrooms, tables, and fire pits.
St.Vital Park is one of the best and most beautiful places to visit in Winnipeg, gardens, festivities, ducks, geese and fun for the family n kids.i love it.
Great .... except for all the geese everywhere. They kept coming up to us at picnic table. Beautiful park, with lovely flowers and fountain. We are regulars.
Great Park. Good combination of open fields, play structures, and walking/biking trails through forest and along the Riverside. Also has a boat launch. Close to the St. Vital Shopping center.
Beautiful park with a lot for the kids to do.
Convenient location, good place for an evening walk even in Winter.
Beautiful park with wide open spaces and excellent sand volleyball pits.
Great place to escape the city, and just walk...
lovely walk around the duck pond
Clean park with a lot of green space, picnic areas for larger groups and fire pits in select areas. Decent sized playground for children and a nice duck pond to walk around and watch the ducks.
The duck pond is full of geese and ducks and lots of their babies! You have to be mindful of bird poop on the path, but it's worth it.
So many reasons to visit this park. Lovely pond and fire pit has washrooms and is a favorite spot for gamers and visitors. Much wildlife to sneak a peek at and is very walk friendly.... bus service is limited tho
Just a beautiful green space!! Scenic with walking and bicycle trails to explore !
Love this place! Great pond to watch the ducks and geese and the river to watch the boats plus fire pits for a BBQ!! Kept very clean????
Great place to go for a walk, play soccer, or have a fire with friends, it's also a great place to go play pokemon go. There were some new plants when I was there last and the flower garden is beautiful as always!
Great place for a family outing, plenty of walking trails, great structure near the duck pond if the weather is cool, play structures are great for kids!
I like st vital park My only concern is they have designed 3 side by side soccer fields with no goal posts. It would be nice if they could install those goal posts with nets. These side by side soccer fields are not in the main area. They are on the side behind the parking place in a secluded area. If they are reading this they should know what area I am talking about. Otherwise everything else looks good.
there are 2 ice slides at the exit gate, and a frozen lake in winter. By the side of red river, there is a BBQ field and a playground for kids. A very nice place for family with kids or/and pets whenever in spring, summer or winter.
Picnic tables and playgrounds were great. Parking was easy. Geese were intrusive and poop was excessive. Dozens of signs saying why people shouldn't feed the Geese and yet there were people with buckets of grain.
Great place to go with friends and family. Lots of people come here for fishing but they should really build a fishing dock
Enjoyable day @ St Vital park. Goslings are beginning to hatch, lots of geese nesting at the pond. Watch out for protective mothers! Some of the washrooms are now open, makes a longer stay more convenient. Playground was active, but not overly crowded. Lots of excellent spots for an afternoon picnic. Walks along the river picturesque and easy, lots of space to social distance.
Great place for cycling! Lots of nature
Excellent park to walk, relax and enjoy the birds that are living here and of course if you bring your family and friends is even better.
Beautiful place for a family walk and relax. There are fire pits with a lovely view. There was road construction Sept 2020, which was a bit inconvenient, but did not ruin our visit.
Had a great time skiing with my daughter on the groomed trails. Great warm up area too!
Well kept, lots to do, drive right up to pretty much any spot of the park, bbq and picnic tables through out, big children's play structure, my dog and daughter love it here
Beautiful, tranquil park to walk through on a chilly morning.
Very Nice and open park. Perfect for a picnic with friends or family. Highly recommended.
Good place, it is not crowded, has playing ground and nice views, you can make your own grills.
Very nice park. First time here and will visit again.
Went there for birthday party it was very nice
It's a nice park, but what's up with the duck pond? It's almost dried up and the water that's in it doesn't look all that great. I know we have had a drier than normal spring but surely something can be done to increase the water quality and level. Update - I came by again on June 20th and the water level in the pond is much higher and the aeration fountains were running. The water looked really good.
Nice place for kids and family to spend time in.
Very nice park , well kept , geese get a little too close for the kids but are harmless
The park has some nice walking paths and benches to rest and chat.
Nice park lots of tables and benches. Very nice washrooms and duck pond with an island to enjoy. Lots of woods and walking trails
It's a big park with bbq places, ponds, walking trails through woods, Red River shore, access by car through, a real beauty!
Went for the new toboggan run. They have 2 and a nice warming shack. There is also a duck pond that is open for skating daily.
Beautiful place, tons of space for larger families. Duck pond, play structure, huge field with volleyball nets, a boat launch, toboggan slide in the winter along with skating! One of my favourite places in Winnipeg!
Great park! Lots of space to park. You can walk around and it's very relaxing. The fountain area has a lot of geese and you have to watch where you walk. It also smells around the pond area.
A great place for skating, but if you're not a skater, walking around the duck pond or sledding is also a great time
This park features a duck pond, children's play center, bbq area with canopy, sled runs in the winter. Great place for kids 2-10 as the play center is surrounded by trees to provide shade for them and their caregivers. There are up to date washrooms around the park which were recently built. When the kids get bored a 5 min walk gets you to the duck pond that has a circular path for them to walk around. There is a nice small flower garden to view along the path. The ducks are fun to watch for the kids. However, the Canadian Geese are a bit of a nuisance at times due to the fact that they are feed often by generous people. However, they will not hiss at you because of that which makes it easier to put up with them. Lots of bird poop so if you are planning a nice tidy walk with your Sunday best this is not your place. However, the poop is avoidable if you are not on your phone and paying attention. In the winter, the sled runs are awesome for kids of all ages. Overall, this park is great with less traffic than Kildonan and Assiniboine Park. It is very close to the St. Vital Mall if you are ambitious enough to get some shopping in. The park is missing a big attraction to make it a 5 star but it is still a worth a 1-2 hour visit for a young family.
It's a well-managed park where you can enjoy all the seasons.
An average park, its clean. Park is good for families, play area is very tiny, good for just casual hangout. Tables are in just ok condition, best to take your own cloth to put it at the top. Some sitting areas are very close to the road. It also nice scenic view. Barbecue facilities are there but I think people do not clean them when they are done so if one is going to use Barbecue best to take a few bbq cleaners. Garbage was not too full and there was some one removing it. All in all not a bad park at all
The best place for a walk on a early fall day..
Great for walking. Wild life great. Ducks. Owls etc. Winter time skate ing. Rink nice size also good for walking. Summer great for picnics.
I love this park. Some nice trails and lots of woods. Tons of space for gatherings and fire pits available. Good place to run or bike away from high traffic. There is a boat launch too. Very nice and new pavillion near the duck pond to warm up in when the skating rink is bumpin.
