Sledding hill in the winter, a market in the summer, and plenty of parking all year around. It's a good park but don't be fooled by the name, there are no ships here. If you are looking for ships then head to Rotary Park. Lost a star for the lack of ships.

We went to the Thursday market at 3pm. It was very busy but we found a parking spot easy enough. There was a good selection of stalls and was not too crowded there.

A great park off the Millenium Trail. Lots of concerts and events in summer. Start line for the Yukon Quest. Fun for sledding when it snows. They freeze the walking path around the park for skating. In the summer the Fireweed Market has lots of local goodies and highly recommend going.

Visited on Canada Day to watch a performance and celebrate our great country! What an experience!! It was a beautiful day and the whole community came together to hand out a huge cake! It ended my trip to Yukon on such a high note :)

Some of the original buildings of Whitehorse when the town is being settled located to this site. Information place for the buildings are very interesting to read. Great view of the fast flowing Yukon river. Seems to be the place for artist to come and work on their paintings as there were 6 different people painting the scenery of the river.

Small sledding hill is great for winter visits with kids..plus a skating loop, campfire under a gazebo, and small indoor space to warm up. Great place to rent for kids bday parties in the winter. Not much to do in the summer except roll in the grass, unless it's Fireweed Market day...

Just moved to the area and we were looking for a place to grab a quick bite. Every drive through had really long line ups so as we were turning around in Shipyards Park we noticed a small place that sold burritos/tacos. Just gotta walk up to the window to order. Friendly employees and delicious breakfast burritos!!

Because of the self isolating trend, I got my Starbucks at the drive thru then went over to Shopyards park to sit in the sun for awhile. Not too many people around and had a table all to myself. River was flowing thru quickly as usual and heard the birds but didn't see many of them.

Shipyards Park is a happening place in Whitehorse along the Yukon River and Millenium Trail ????. Last weekend during Feb. we got to watch and hear the the start of the exciting Yukon Quest's adjusted dog sled races (because of Covid) so as to avoid the States and any small communities. This weekend we saw snow sculptures of 'The Scream', a snowboarder, an Inuit, Haida-styled sculpture, a bear etc. In the same park we saw kids heading over to slide on the hill. We hear high school kids cheering their peers in the log throwing contest. Its a busy and fun park w an outside skating rink as well.

Always fun to go relax in the park. There is a nice gazebo cover area, public washrooms a good little burrito restaurant. I also love the old antique little cabin by the river and all the event host in this park: Canada Day, Rendez-Vous, festival etc. Always make it the place to be !!

Excellent park right on the Yukon River. Many historical facts around. Brand new playground just opened and ready to play on. Many picnic tables for families. The park is inclusive and %100 wheelchair accessible. Can book private events at the centre in the park.
