We stayed at the Chateau Victoria for 2 nights during July. The first night we were in a double queen room and the second was a single king room. Both rooms were excessively hot once you turned the AC units off (who can sleep with that much noise from them running).
We had to change rooms after the first night as the toilet kept running all night long, there seemed to be a strange loud humming coming from somewhere outside the window and a stairwell door was slammed shut dozens of times through the night so we barely slept due to excessive noise. We complained to the front desk staff, who were very nice about it, and we were upgraded to a king bed one floor up. The only change was the toilet didn't run all night and there was no slamming door continuously (though it did happen a few times).
Both bathrooms were less than adequate as the caulking, drywall and floors were all cracked peeling and lacked care and attention. The faucets in the shower were loose and seemed to be cheaply installed.
We ordered room service for dinner on the first night which came quickly and the food was delicious yet the portions were small for the price.
The room rate is not the only charge on the bill when you check out, they also charge a 1% DMF (downtown Marketing Fee) and a 11% hotel room tax on top of the regular tax for each night. All in all it cost well over $700 for 2 mediocre nights which should have been less than $500.
The staff were very nice, helpful and pleasant to work with but the hotel needed a lot of work.
