Use to be a great place to take the kids etc. Now with the homeless and transients living there they use the park as their washroom. They openly shoot up in front of people and don't care. They trade stolen goods openly and no one can do anything about it. It makes me sick that they have more rights than us who pay taxes to live here.

No water parks open until July. It's a nice park but there are no dogs allowed anywhere which sucks a bit, huge pond full of ducks, tennis courts, totems, zen rock gardens for stoners and very decent and new kids playground.

The landscaping in this park is always beautiful. The various plants and flowers covered by massive trees are a sight to see. Some areas recieve more care then others and it shows, the Japanese gardens were fairly weak when compared to the rest. Also a good place to ensure if your walking around that your vehicle or bike is well locked as I witnessed some casual petty theft when I visited, and the manner by which it was done would suggest that this is a usual occurence, so lock up and enjoy the sights!

Beautiful and lots of birds to feed but because of all the feeding the park is covered in poop and gets veey very stinky. All in all though the park maintenance people are pretty good at keeping up with it. The biggest problem is the homeless and their habits. Scary place to be sometimes because of it. Also it'd closed at night and there's no lights. I don't think parks should close.

I love the ducks that are there. It's a beautiful park with lots of great areas. It has a path that leads to a wooden bridge over a marsh and it's so nice through there. They have a sports field. They have public bathrooms. They have a stage area and often have something happening there on weekends. My issue is often the duck area is very filthy and covered with duck poop. The park is wonderful but sometimes it can be a stinky park too.

Polson Park isn't bad to go to during the day, but can get pretty sketchy at night. This place may be right in downtown Vernon but isn't worth checking out. Nothing special whatsoever. Worth the drive to check out a nicer park nearby. Sometimes there are events here, but still not worth it in my opinion.

Polson park is under-rated. It really is a nice park. While the city does struggle with the homeless crisis, the lawns are well kept (where they're not flooded) and so is the equipment. I've definitely seen worse elsewhere. In the summer there are picnic tables scattered about and throughout the year they hold different events here (winter carnival, fathers day fishing derby). If you're looking for a nice spot to spend an hour or so, it's a good spot for it.

A beautiful park with quite a lot to offer, lots of grass and trees to picnic on, a playground with a swingset, a gazebo, a river with scenic bridges and a lot of flower gardens, and its all next to the Vernon Science Centre. However, despite how well maintained it is, there a lot of very dangerous homeless people around and I have on a few occasions seen them shooting up in the parking lot, leaving used needles behind. Unless you are with someone, I don't recommend this park due to the shear amount of homeless people who camp on the grounds.

There are homeless people freezing to death in every corner of the park. Security cars and police driving through every twenty minutes. This place is gross and run down. I did not feel safe even while traversing the sidewalks on the outskirts of this park. I would steer clear at all costs.

There is so much to see in this park; my kids love the playground, the spray park is great, the duck pond is pretty and interesting, really I could go on and on. It's a beautiful place to go for a walk. You can use the outdoor gym, there is a running track, there is a skate park, plus the Okanagan Science Centre is right there too. So happy to have this place in my home town.

A nice downtown park with a creek running through it. Good place to take the kids, with a little waterpark and ducks to feed. The field is no longer used for soccer, so that's just a big patch of grass now. Otherwise a mix of activities for young and old, including tennis, lawn bowling and skateboarding.

Beautiful place, but there was a guy obviously high on something taking apart a bike, and tweaking about 200ft away from us and our baby, then behind us about 500 ft was a guy passed out infront of a stolen Life Size M&M's character. Overall, was a nice park, but wouldn't go there alone. Hahah. Definitely not at night time.

My kids loved this park and playground and so did I! It was super pretty and lots to do! The only thing I didn't like was the goose poop everywhere! Sitting on the grass was a little tricky! But overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be going back!

It's a nice place to take your little kids to the water park and one of the better jungle gyms in Vernon. It used to be a great place to feed the ducks, but now for obvious reasons they have stuck up signs to avoid people doing that.

I didn’t feel it lived up to reviews. A nice enough venue but for the Okanagan it’s just average. The water had been drained from the pool area, the floral clock wasn’t on time, a lot of places had signs to keep off the grass so you couldn’t get to them, and one gazebo area was overtaken with...cyclists and their tents? Wth? The stage area was well maintained and the skatepark was fun to watch, kids were courteous to each other. But if you’re visiting on wheels (rollerblades, stroller) there’s really not a lot besides the road to use.

Grew up here in the 70s and 80s. Not that I lived in the park, but my high school was right there. The park has been through some changes but still retains most of it's charm, albiet subdued in some cases. Good place to go walking or bring the kids to the playground. Tennis courts and 400 meter (I think) running track also available. A creek runs through it and there is even a wishing well. The ponds are full of waterfowl and consequently smell of duck poo. It is a clean and relaxing place to spend some time with friends and family. PS There is also a lawn bowling green and a bandshell.

Beautiful park with a big playground, spray park, tennis courts, outdoor gym, walking paths, Japanese gardens, small bridges, lots of flowers, and a healthy populations of ducks. When I bring my kids we usually bring some bread to feed the ducks. Recommend not going when it’s dark out and keep a very close eye on your kids because lately there have been a lot of homeless people living in the park.

Very pretty park next to down town. It has tennis courts, a playground, water-spray park, outdoor fitness equipment, skate park, picnoc tables, washrooms, ponds, a creek, trees, grassy areas and a running track. It also has an amphitheatre and stage/concession for use by certain events. I would have given a four or five-star rating, but the park is home to numerous Canada geese that keep almost all of the park littered with goose poo! Why the city of Vernon doesn't hired dog handlers to chase the geese away is beyond me! There are also many ducks, pigeons and crows, but@ Also be careful allowing little ones to play around sheltered areas or around bushes, etc. as there is currently drug users at night who leave their used needles behind. Children should also be supervised at the skate park as some of the older teens there can talk/act inappropiately.

there is something for everyone at this park. a waterpark and okay ground for the kids, tennis for everyone, beautiful views and nice walks. we went during the week around 11am and it was a great time to go. not too busy and enough shady spots to shield front he sun. lots of picturesque views, Geese and water features. flowers to look at and green grass to run around on. there appears to be ample parking and enough places close by to pick up some snacks if you are wanting to stay a while. I did not go around the entire park, it is a decent size, but from what I saw it is a great place to visit.

I love the location and the different activities available however, there is a huge drug problem in the park, and at times it feels very unsafe. I used to take my lunch here but, I will no longer visit the park by myself unless I'm not going to be stationary very long. I've found that when I sit down people come up and demand money or sit down next to you when they're high on who knows what and they're acting erratically.

We came for the Friday evening market. So many vendors! The water park is removed, and you'll have the occasional uncomfortable interaction with locals, but the duck ponds, the Japanese garden, and the boardwalk makes for a pretty walk. We saw some deer, birds, and squirrels!

This is a lovely park but you cannot take your dog and when I walk I take my dog. I think it is less populated because of this and is missing something because of it.
