Nice way to go around Stanley Park ,see the Totempoles .. Children would enjoy the cart ride ..

Familiar atmosphere, perfect place to relax and enjoy the view.

Excellent 1-hour trot around the Stanley Park in an open carriage pulled by two horses.

Beautiful ride, a great history lesson on the ride.

In late Aug 2020 I booked a private horse tour for my proposal day with my fiancee'! We started at the Stanley Park Rose Garden and I chose to have them take us to a restaurant in downtown and pick us up after we ate. It was one of the most fun experiences I have ever had and my fiancee' loved it. To get to the restaurant they took us on a scenic route (not directly to the restaurant), which gave us an opportunity to see Vancouver better. We both loved it and was a very special and fun day for us!

Don’t waste money and time here. Bicycle is better. The woman who controlled horses so grumpy and complaining about her job and the horses all along the ride. The tourist trap stopped only one time for photography only 5mins and that’s it. Nothing was explained, just views. The tickets counter’s staff is rude and cash only non refundable. Waiting for departure about half an hour which was not on time by schedule. Bad experience in sunny Vancouver. If you can drive or bike or even walk go for it. Above all, feel sorry for the horses, I wish they could ran away.

Want to the horse drawn ride

(Translated) I loved (Original) Amei

I can't believe that on 2018 there are still people capable of offering horse rides on asfalt, and even more, that there are people capable of paying and riding these things, seeing the horses in that condition. This should be banned from the park.

(Translated) Another way to visit and feel, but you have to like the taste of the horse. (Original) 另外一种游览方式和感受,只是马身上的味道你得喜欢。

Great place for family at weekends.

Cool & calm place in vancouver

It's cruel, they're all in chains and forced to work in extreme heat all day.

Good place

Great experience for the whole family. Very cold though so dress warmly, even in the summer.

A very informative tour of a great city park. Highly recommended for any tourist ages 6+

Seemed expensive for mostly walking through the forest for 50mins. Pretty boring but I could see how some people might enjoy it.

I never went on a ride so I can't say anything about that. But I did walk past the horses and the look miserable. I feel so bad for them, they clearly aren't happy at all. I saw 4 and they were all the same. Poor horsies, I mean at least they get plenty of exercise but still.. they are clearly not happy

What a big hourse

If you are not in the mood to walk Stanley Park, then I recommend this horse drawn tour. The Stanley Park Horse-Drawn Tours take you around the scenic vantage parts of Stanley Park. - A Richard Trus review

Fun way to see Stanley Park. A little pricey but allowed us to learn and see the park even during some pretty heavy rainfall so worth it!

Get a bike or simply walk on the sea wall and you’ll not just enjoy what Stanley Park really offers, but also contribute to the end of this abusive and cruel exploitation of beautiful (but so miserable) horses. Too lazy for that? Get a car or a tour bus and drive by. This is the most ridiculous “attraction” in Vancouver and you will look even more ridiculous if you support it.

Majestic beasts. Please drive carefully around them.

Chantelle was our driver and guide, extremely knowledgeable and stopped for photos along the way. She was also very good with the kids. On a side note she did not ask for a tip but everyone gave her one. This was definitely worth the cost!

Love the place so much

Biggest waste of money ever. $42 PER PERSON so you can walk a solid 20 metres away from any attraction and regret having ever walked past their god-forsaken shed of shame. Boring and expensive. PASS!

Beautiful, need more time to enjoy nature

Stanley Park , Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The horse's are a majestic pearian bread ready to deliver a lovely time for those looking to explore or fall in love and also for those who are single looking to spark up a connection. Definitely make time to enjoy an activity such as this.

Great time but a little expensive.

great tours

(Translated) Stanley Park is very beautiful. We did the buggy ride and didn't find that stuff there. He stopped only at the totems and at the other stop went for the horses to rest, no one got down. I believe the bike ride would be more interesting, as you can stop where you want and know more places in the park. I didn't go because my wife couldn't balance on the bike. With electric bike makes it much easier. If I had gone by bike I would give the 5 stars.

Biggest waste of money ever. $42 PER PERSON so you can walk a solid 20 metres away from any attraction and regret having ever walked past their god-forsaken shed of shame. Boring and expensive. PASS!

This is one of the businesses that is suggesting that bikes don't have any right to use the road in Stanley Park, wants cars only.

Pretty good tour made it much more enjoyable to see more of the park then if we had been walking

Be prepared to wait to get your ticket. Only one ticket window, and only one person selling. Also, make sure your ticket is for is clearly marked for your tram and that you know exactly which tram you're getting on. We missed ours because the receipt was mislabeled, and the staff was no help. Five stars for the ride and view, ZERO stars for the staffing and waiting.

Very nice place I recommend to visit ❤️

Rode our motorcycle by very nice

Nice 1 hour ride fun for the whole family

The horses are exhausted by the afternoon, with drooping heads. Please don't participate in this abuse of beautiful animals.

Good for those who don't wish to walk.

A bit pricy, but a neat experience

Awesome.

Loved it! Great ride with Jim and Jack. Wonderful way to see and learn about the park.

Bit pricey for a trot round a pretty park, commentary is good though

Nice park !

I will never support this kind of business. After living in Vancouver my whole life, I have seen the way these animals are treated and it is so cruel. Rent a bike and tour the Seawall instead, it's better in so many ways.

I got many photos from the ride. But the one thing I really like is how she talks about the history of the park

(Translated) Wonder of place to go and learn something of the local history in the tourist boards that are found when walking through the park (Original) Maravilla de lugar para recorrer y aprender algo de la historia local en los tableros turísticos que se encuentran al caminar por el parque

Great tour and friendly staff, highly recommended.

They take all precautions and still give you a lovely tour????????

Amazing. The best way to go through the park surrounded by nature. Very recommended.

Beautiful place!

A great way to spend an hour, and the stories behind the locations are interesting! Thank you for making this visit memorable!

Nice slow horsedrawn ride with information from guide.

I went here with my wife and son. The ride takes about hour. The seats on carriage are wooden, but in cool weather blankets are supplied which can be used to make the seats more comfortable. For three people it was C$146, but I thought this was reasonable. The staff was very polite and friendly. The horses are very well fed, appeared to be in excellent health and are clearly loved by their human caretakers. On our tour, we saw the eastern part of Stanley Park. I recommend this activity for children and adults, especially the area with the totem poles, the very impressive art form of British Columbia's native peoples.

Awesome place

You can do lots of things in the park, cycling, roller skating, walking, enjoy Beach etc.. good place to hanging around for a whole day.

Very informative and relaxing tour suitable for all ages. Don't expect any excitement as we are talking about riding a slow horse carriage with a tour guide providing history of Vancouver and Stanley Park. Not a cheap tour either; however it's reasonable considering the costs for maintenance of the horses. Our tour-guide was great - be sure to tip them! Excellent family event - lasts about an hour. Highly recommended!

Always lovely ????

Nice way to enjoy Stanley Park, specially you can’t ride a bicycle (that would be my favorite way to explore the park) or if it’s raining. The tour takes approximately one hour and is fully narrated.

Poor horses! This isn't right at all! A park is for people to walk around not just buy a ticket and be lazy on the carriage!

One of the best way to explore Stanley Park.

This is the favoirite place of a lot of families with going kids. You are very close tonthe nature when you are in this well maintained FAMILY PARK. They have Horse carriage rides (only in summers), small train track which is loved by children and families. There are a lot of play areas with swings for children. Washroom and snacks facility are available in the park at various spots. One can rent cycles and ride the 10 km perimeter, go for hiking as well. Ample car parking space available.

These two are my idea about the Horse Tours: 1- Don't like the idea of having fun by using any kind of animal; 2- As far as I know, it goes through the same route as the cars go. Use a car instead them, or even better use a bike or walk if you don't have mobility issues. You can be closer to the shore that way.

Good tour but pricey. $42 per person

Great experience. We have lived in Vancouver for 15 years but had never taken this tour. An excellent tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide. The kids loved it. A great thing to do as a tourist, or as a local!

Had fun. The pit stop at the poles are quick. Like the fact that the horses are really looked after before & after the ride and learning about them.

Nice tour, but probably not worth the price.

Many people come to this park, should add more ????

So, I did take the tour with my family. Weather was nice and it was a perfect day for the tour and kids were excited. Before buying tickets me and my 13 yr old daughter were in two minds wheather to do it or not as we love animals and always are pro animal welfare. We saw the horses and they looked sturdy. This was gonna be our first horse ride ever. But after taking the tour I am not too proud of myself for taking it. Horses should not be commercially used to make money. Tickets are expensive and I dont mind it as I feel that is my thank you to the horse from my family. Hope it is used wisely for them (food/ medic/ welfare/ rehab etc) i think I would advise to limit the pssenger not by Numbers but by weight. Heavy weight or obesse shouldnt be allowed to board. Well I would not ride a buggy again as I said it was my last.

Is not animal welfare that the horses are all day in the rays of the sun without any shadow and that has to pull an entire heavy carriage with people. Instead of doing that they should invent another kind of tours

Excellent tour of Stanley Park!!

Relaxing tour.

????????

Our experience was really wonderful for my family and I! We enjoyed the hour long tour and our guide was full of little interesting facts and history of Vancouver and Stanley Park. The horses were treated well and had a couple rest stops and my daughter loved meeting them and giving them a little pet on their noses. The staff was friendly and helpful! Would reccomend this attractive tion to everyone and even though the fee is expensive, it's worth it considering the employees and upkeep of the horses and barn!

Fun way to get overview of park sites and history. Then go rent bike and revisit!

Very informative tour of Stanley Park

Best park is the whole World

Awesummm

The tour was nice and I enjoyed the sights and sounds, but it was a bit chilly though. It didn't ruin to overall tour.

Great experience, but too cold.

This was so good. It gave me a chance to learn some of the history behind Vancouver which I had not gotten to do on my trip. I really enjoyed it and liked knowing that the horses were treated so well as we were given a break down of what their day to day lives are like. They are so huge it was amazing. One of the highlights of my Vancouver trip for sure

Loved the tour around Stanley Park. Informative and comfortable ride. Also takes you to the totem stop also. Entertainment book has a 2 for 1 coupon saving you $45!

Tourist in my own town, and was it ever enjoyable. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Excellent Covid-19 precautions too. The horses were as beautiful as the scenery. I learned more about Stanley Park and Vancouver in 1 hour than I did in school ????

If i could rate zero… i would, they abuse the horses not to mention they are walking on pavement in the sweltering hear waking around the park. This is so unnecessary and disgusting.

Amazing!! No wait times due to covid very nice history lesson along the route

One of a kind tour

(Translated) I was moved by the beautiful park. Asuka Ⅱ Asuka Ⅱ Visited around the world cruise. (Original) 美しい公園で感動しました。飛鳥Ⅱ飛鳥Ⅱ世界一周クルーズで訪問しました。

We had such an informative tour guide. They supplied blankets for the chilly weather too. Was a great experience.

Great tour and the tour guides were fantastic.

Stepped in some hot ass dogshit!

Disgraceful to see such an unnecessary service. When you have to use animals as a form of entertainment this day in age! The horses looked so tired and unhappy, all for the 3 people who can’t use their two legs to take a nice walk through the park. This is not ok and it shouldn’t be a legal business. Profiting from animals is cruelty.

I did the ride few years ago, i really enjoyed it, it was a new experience for me.. the horse carts here in India are totally different from the huge cart of Stanley park..

Beautiful tour. Just wish there was more scenery. Most of the tour is behind trees.

So cute!

The Stanley Park is one of the most exquisite gardens one will ever see, especially the Rose Gardens, must see and take snaps there, and do take a horse carriage tour of the Park.. Go early if you wanna see the whole park, it's huge and takes lot of time, you will surely find worth it!!

Amazing, I loved the horses and the staff are fantastic!

Tour guide was really entertaining. I would certainly recommend this experience for tourists.

Worth the ride

Sometimes it's just nice to sit back, let someone else take u around point things out! My neice loved it (8yo). Was able to take good photos, learn a few things, and just enjoy the day! And who doesn't love the clopping of horses hooves?

Supperb

beautiful place

Not worth at all..!! My suggestion would be get a bike for 15 bucks and enjoy more rather than spending $40 in this ride..!! Pretty boring and not entertaining at all..!! Just lost the money and time..!!

Very nice leisurely tour. Guide was really experienced and had lots of interesting information to give. Definitely get your tickets in advance otherwise it could be a long wait

Waste of money and time. Better to use car or bike.

Wonderfull zjotse

Fabulous park right on the edge of downtown Vancouver, we spent about 2 hours here and seen a little bit, could easily spend 6 hours and really make a day of it. Plenty to see and do

Nice brews

Really enjoyed the Horse drawn carts that also provide live commentary......lovely way to explore the huge Stanley Park...

As a local, we hadn't gone on this before but were pleasantly surprised. The tourist price is a little discouraging but we still learned a lot of neat facts from our funny driver. The rides left every 20-30 minutes and you could combine the ticket cost with a number of other tourist venue entrance fees to get a discounted price. (Only if you purchase all the tickets at the Horse kiosk) All the staff were quite courteous and nice to deal with. Unlike another review, i didn't see any mistreatment of the animals. The day was hot and they got a good drenching from a hose after every trip. The driver pointed out the stables and how many horses they have in rotation as well as how many days off they get; i guess to combat negative posts that may not be accurate. I highly recommend, even if you are a local, for a relaxed trip around the park.

I went on the tour with my husband and 1 year old today. It was awsome! We live here but had never been on the tour. I totally recommend it to tourists and locals! Great way to see Stanley Park and learn some interesting facts! The tour guide and the girls in the booth were so friendly and knowledgeable, and they let us pet the horses. (First time my daughter has seen a horse)! She loved it!! Totally recommend it!!

(Translated) Very relaxing guide introduction, but unfortunately it only goes around Stanley Park in the eastern half. (Original) 很放鬆的導覽簡介,可惜只遶東半邊的Stanley Park。

Very sad to see those horses standing for a prolonged period in the extreme heat with no shade. This is animal.cruelty. Please provide shade and water for resting periods for these beautiful work horses.

My wife was excited to do this and it did not disappoint. The driver was very knowledgeable. The tour took around 1 hour and right now it is half price because of Covid. If you haven't been get out and support a local business.

Highly recommended experience for locals (like ourselves) and tourists alike. I truly appreciate the hospitality and professionalism exemplified by both the owner, Gerry and staff! The horse drawn carriage tour was a unique and wonderful experience. In particular, it was my daughter's fourth birthday and I genuinely appreciated how special the entire team made her feel! During these times, kindness and respect are what the world needs and we got that from everyone at Stanley park horse-drawn tours. Moreover, from what we saw the horses were treated in a humane and considerate manner. Overall, great experience! Thank you, Dr. H

Great sceneray

Can give you a good idea about the park and the few historical locations within. Choose a cool day though to do this ride.

Great information provided by guide, but.very expensive.

Lovely place to stroll while enjoying the autumn colors

It,s great

This is an animal abuse! Seriously people!! I was shocked that people are actually enjoying the ride. Seriously. Look at the horse's eyes... they're crying...... Please let horse to be free!! You guys are all will be punished someday. ????????????????

Would love to go again!

Nice way to see the park. We only had the opportunity to hop off to take photos at one spot, personally I would have enjoyed a few more stops. I appreciate how kind the staff is to the horses and how the company appears to take care of them well.

It's a beautiful place to get lost with your beloved one

Nice to spend an afternoon around Stanley Park and have a ride on the horse drawn wagon. Wheelchair users can use the wagon if they can step up 2 steps. You can store the wheelchair in the back of the wagon or leave it at the ticket office. Concession for wheelchair users and disabled.

Great tour and knowledge and friendly host

This was truly fun. The woman running our carriage was hilarious, very informative and professional. You get to see a lot and learn a lot about Stanley Park as well as Vancouver.

Not bad

As far as horse drawn tours go I'd say this is pretty good

Having bought a combined ticket including aquarium, were told we had to queue for half an hour to exchange our paper ticket for another paper ticket for the horse ride and at the same time wouldn't give us our aquarium ticket, told we would have to queue again. Bought our combined ticket from Hop- on Hop-off bus tour. Be warned, it takes a lot of patience and queuing!

This is animal abuse. There is no reason to exploit horses in 2018. If you're interested in Stanley Park take a walking tour, visit the eco center, or rent a bicycle and stop being lazy. These poor horses have to pull carriages ALL DAY LONG, EVERY DAY. Rain or shine, and in extreme heat. How would you feel of you had to pull a carriage full of heavy people all day long? Imagine. Horse and carrige rides need to stop. Slaving animals for your pleasure.

The ride was very pleasant on a very hot day. Took in all the main points around the park with small things being pointed out that we would have missed. We'll worth the money.

Great guy running it. Highly recommend

This is no real tour. The Stanley Park CelebriTrees tour is where its at. A $20 walking tour of the interior of Stanley Park. This is the real Stanley Park. Your cameras will explode.

A lovely ride through Stanley Park in a horse drawn wagon. Slow pace to enjoy your surroundings. Guide was knowledgeable and personable.

(Translated) Should offer materials in other languages to support what the guide says. Example provide a sheet with the text said by the guide during the visit. For my part I do well in English generally but sometimes when it comes to particularity and or history it can be harder to grasp the meaning so with support in your mother tongue would be a good complement to the visit .
