REVIEWS OF Cypress Mountain IN Vancouver

Due to Covid 19, Cypress Mountain Ski Area closed early at 6pm instead of its normal closing hour at 9 pm. Visitors can still visit it at the foot of Cypress mountain to view how the snowy mountain looks like and how wide the skiing runs are. They can take photos with the five circle Olympic symbol, with Cypress Mountain Resort signboard , and with cables cars in the air with no obstacles. A rare occasion.

I like skiing ther. Ther is soft snow perfect for crash landing for me ( I am a bad skier ). In the summer you can take photos with the weird stone statue ( I don’t know what it is ) and the Olympic sign. Good for hiking. See if you can find the mysterious water tank while you are hiking in summer.

Kristen W.

Terrible snow... Don't water your money on this mountain on warm days. Hard to ski and not fun at all...

Stefano Papa

Don't even bother to come over here on holidays. It's like hell. Ticket is over priced, the place is packed, average wait time for chairlift is 20 mins, waiting time for parking is 40 mins, the new ticket system is extremely confusing, also not all chairlifts are functional. AVOID

Ashton Lee

Great local resort, but lately it's been really icy, dangerously so.

Soleil Martin

First day of the year for me and it was beautiful. Minus the clouds. Its gonna he a good year. I was skeptical but I have high hopes after today. Best local mountain hands down.

Gary Wang

Best ski day is boxing day. No waiting at all. Love it

Robert Suranyi

Great hill overall with easy access from the city and surrounding area. Does offer some bigger terrain than the surrounding mountains with majority of runs being intermediate level Blue runs, black, or double black. There are lifts for all levels though and having the bowl allows for you to sun chase as the day goes on and find the snow that's right for you. One thing is for certain, the views from up there are spectacular!

Firoz Ozman

Long time silver pass xtra holder. Added another family member last year thinking that the new pass would work after March 1st like Cypress has done in the past. A short time after purchased it, I asked if they would do it for my 4th family member. They said no. I said I asked if I could pay more to have it added. They still said no. I asked if I could get my money back, they said no. I asked if they could credit my account, they said no. No sense of customer service from their managers for long time customers and their families. No skills to try and resolve issues other than take it or leave it. I would've appreciated even 50% of that pass back in gift cards or some sort of resolution. This is not a short staffing issue, just a lack of skills from a manager in customer service

Lea Granado

This review is about the cross-country area. I have been there over a dozen times and every time the experience is very positive. Trail grooming is good, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable. Get there early (before 9:30 on weekends) if you don't want to park too far away. Great views and plenty of trails so even if there are many people it won't feel crowded. The warming hut at the upper power lines area is a nice touch and acts as a social and gathering place for those so inclined, or simply as a marker for those just blazing through. The Nordic Cafe chalet is fine and has all the basics. Areas for improvement could include opening Brothers Canyon East and the trails around there more often, along with more clearly indicating when it is open and when it is not.

Sidney Smith

Skiing, hiking, resort life. One of my favorite local mountains if I'm not feeling Whistler for a weekend ski adventure. I buy a seasons pass every year. Great trails well groomed.

Eduardo Donoso

Decent sky hill with lots of half day hikes and snowing easily accessible from the parking lot with beautiful views of the howe sound

Jas C

Been there two days ago, queue was crazy, the line up of Lions express almost reached the turn to the eagle which caused 40+ mins for one ride. Not sure what the capacity regulation for outdoor but it's showing limited tickets on the website. By the way, if the company ever reads feedbacks: the face mask wearing-check in waiting area was way better & more frequent when the regulation first came out.

Mi Wi

Great ski resort. I wish they had more direction signs on slopes. Hard to navigate in some intersections!

Brand Yoshi

Great local mountain. Got to get there early to avoid the lineups to get your ski passes and also to get decent parking. Didn't give this 5 stars as they need a better parking solution. Also the lineups for the passes are way too long even if you buy them online.

Gynes Liu

Only 30 minutes drive from Vancouver, this place offers skis, snowboarding, snowshoeing, XC adventures from beginners to intermediate skills. Nice quick day trip from the city.

edgar ramirez

Good little ski resort. Quite pricy for a lift ticket, but it’s the best of the north shore mountains in my opinion. Parking is quite frustrating and feels disorganized, as they might park you two lots back and then start filling the front lots with cars that were behind you.

Ginny Lam

Best of the three local mountains (Seymour, Grouse, Cypress). Strongly recommended for a family day out if you don't want to make the hike to Whistler. Lessons are reasonably priced and the instructors are good. We had Jill and Butters and they both took their time with the group making sure everybody was getting tips. It's $10 for the closest parking, so arrive early to beat the lines. If you're late, you're stuck on the lower parking lots and will have to walk a bit with all your gear.

Adam Wenzel

Mi Young is the Best Instructor ever I am so thankful to have ever met her! I was on the bunny hill 2 weeks ago and now doing blue perfectly and black runs with confidence. I am finally enjoying skiing and absolutely loving it! We started from the very basic fundamentals and Mi Young always shared the best safety tips which are very important. I cannot believe how quickly I was able to ski the runs which I thought were not going to be possible for a long time. Everyday with her was huge progress. I highly recommend Mi Young to anyone of all ages. She is an experienced and a world class Instructor!

Josh Hung

Best ski location around Vancouver. Tickets can be purchased in advance at a slight discount - just have to bring the barcode for scanning. Daily lessons available. Fun for all levels. The parking lots can get full quickly though, which creates a long line up of cars on the road.

Nicholas Fairburn

Nice place for hiking in this part of the year but it is hard to take right direction. Lot of pathways and no signs or labels

Pete Dunn

Great drive to top of Mountain, ample parking still took time to find parking spot. It gets busy so make sure you arrive soon. $75 for day pass or various other options available to suit your needs. Ski rentals , coffee, souvenirs available at site.

William Ritchie

It was so much fun! Had a good time!

sgtfreako67

It was busy, the lift lines were pretty messy but otherwise it was a ton of fun.

Irish Outdoorsman

The Eagle Coaster was amazing, we had so much fun! All the staff were enthusiastic and polite, which helped make our experience even better! We changed our reservation from a day with lots of rain and cold weather and the staff couldn't have been more helpful! Would recommend this to anyone without back issues!!

Yung Yip

Horrible place. Unimaginably rude managers. For the second time spoiled me a weekend.

Ritika Taneja

Terrible place. Charge 119 per person you arrive and walk 1.5 km to ski, then they have 1 lift open. 30 plus minute waits for lift STAY HOME.

Jason Roudette

One of the 3 ski area close to Vancouver, Cypress is the biggest one and has wonderful view and lots of ski runs

Greg Thomas

I love this place, well organized, friendly and helpful staff, they were making sure the social distances were maintained. You would fill safe there.

Mahtab Narsimhan

Stunning day and great season. Thx Cypress for finding a way for us to enjoy getting outside safely this winter under COVID. There are a couple of areas of improvement. Parking mgmt is one of them. The other is the day ticket pricing model. The approach taken at Seymour and Grouse was better: paying for a window of time.

Cayce Anderson

This season is not particularly good, paid parking and huge line ups. I guess it's more of covid fault than cypress resort itself. Either way resort skiing is not great this season.

Emily W (Emi)

One of my favorite local mountains. Friendly staff nice runs recommend.

Anya Chibis

Lately, the slopes have been poorly groomed or not at all. It would be nice if they groomed more of the runs and more often. It almost seems that they are trying to save $ or snow, due to the warmer weather we are having.

Chase Benson

Terrible food, over crowded.. place is a let down go to the okanagan or whistler for a real ski/snowboarding experience

Aftaab Gulam

First day of spring garbage bag tobogganing as all the local mountains are closed.

George Ogolo

First time snowboarding in Cypress. Really great experience overall. All staff were kind and helpful especially for us newbies, they even offered tips on the easy rider. The Crazy Raven bar had the most amazing polar bear hot chocolate ????

jared gee

Good place for hiking with splendid view

Matthew van Heerden

Awesome view, nice skiing and snowshoeing! Love it winter or summer, rain or shine.

steve Day

Walked the Black Mountain trail last evening to see the Wolf Moon. 7km loop to the bottom and totally manageable by reasonably fit hikers. We added another 3k just for fun. Recommend microspikes and poles, and hot chocolate for the top which is stunning! Totally worth the effort. Bring headlamps for the descent. Be safe and have fun!

Fran Huffman

Amazing and scenic. Lived the walk and landscape views from top.

Andrew mcivor

My kids loved the place , however I slept in the car for 3 hrs..... I do not know if there is anything entertaining for regular visitors other than snow boarding etc.

Kassandra Allard

Cypress Mountain has a wonderful ski program. I just completed my Adults Learning to Ski program and had an amazing time. My instructor was Jamie and he was patient, supportive, knowledgeable and clear in his instruction. I highly recommend the ALTS program for anyone out there looking to learn how to ski!

Ashley Preeper

The absolute worst online purchasing and reservation system I’ve ever seen in my life.. I called 15 times and left 13 voicemails which no one answered and returned the call. I also sent several emails and didn’t get any response. Never had a business refuse to take my money like this and refuse to provide any sort of customer service. I tried all four cards I make online purchases with and none worked with their system. The site seemed to have blamed the banks which I found quite amusing. Unbelievably disappointed as I was looking forward to my first day of the season. Once again, PLEASE CALL ME BACK!!

Skye Aho

Fantastic weather. The snow was great! Lineups were massive and the only negative from the day

Karsten Feigl

Super close and super fun. There was ample parking when we got there, some food options and helpful staff. We ventured to the tube park, Hollyburn and went snowshoeing. At first, Siri took us to the other side, so make sure she knows where she’s going ????. I think the tube park was my favourite. There were plenty of happy faces and and screaming kids.

Alice Zhou

45+ minutes to park and 45+ minutes to get my “save some time” online ticket! Great hill to ski on but parking organization and ticket services are terrible. It is the Christmas season but come on Cypress, you’ve been doing this for many years now! I came to ski...not stand in line ups!

Diamond Life Academy (Scotty Hulshof)

Not going back next year. They shut down their night skiing and season early. Didn't run all their lifts on closing weekend so lineups were extra long. Also getting up to the mountain can be painfully slow during peak hour. The mountains itself is pretty good though.

Ira Pettle

Worst web experience ever to buy tickets. Cryptic warnings about something going wrong after 10 of system just hanging

Michael Qu

Great local mountain. They have stream lined rentals which is a major improvement. No longer have to pickup a credit card image at the end either. Greens are busy as to be expected. Normally we take lessons at Cypress as best bang for your buck

amir jam

Crazy line up and difficult to find parking. Ended up more than a km from the ticket window. It was a beautiful blue bird day with fresh snow. Once on the snowshoe trails it was nice, quite and not too much traffic.

Dennis Long

I went today for the first time and I loved it! The staff is very nice and helpful There are parkings for free! Lines are a bit long but fine... ( I guess we are used to lol) ????

RandomAlpaca

Just a short hop away from downtown Vancouver Cypress offers two mountain peaks of skiing from morning till night. The resort has amazing views and a nice variety of run grades with several terrain parks and glades. Sadly on our recent visit there hadn't been snow across most of southern BC for a week and the slopes were a mix of heavy ice and groomed snow. The conditions made many of the diamonds not very enjoyable but with a bit of sun warming up the base snow it was still quality. Did get very close to full on mogul skiing at all times.

Michelle Dang

It's soooo beautiful, especially in snow!

Laura Shashua

Best local mountain in terms of terrains and location. They have just upgraded their rental fleet in 2018 too. If you're planning to go, get the cypress mountain gift cards from Costco, 2 * $50 for $80, and use them to pay for your lift tickets online for the best deal.

Sean Solomon

Cypress Mountain has. New spot now where you can go tubing, nature snow walks and lots of orher activities. Great place for adults & kids.

Sadat

Perfect for a quick day/night ski.

Lukas Holt

We went snowshoeing this morning and it was incredible. It snowed and rained a little along the way but even in that weather the shelter from the trees meant that it was still a magical experience. Would 100% recommend and I look forward to going back one day.

Kaitlin Tien

Excellent local ski resort.

Sahib Malik

My favourite mountain, staff are super friendly and always helpful

Nathalie

It’s so beautiful Mountain ????

Michael Tudorie (Being -There Real-Estate)

I love the mountain with its close proximity to the city. Great runs, and well maintained equipment. The downside is their lack of staff/infrastructure to handle weekends and holidays. I recently went up and had a couple people who needed lift passes and rentals. If you buy the e-vouchers plan on 30-45 minute line, then another 30-45 to pick up the rentals.

Lance Houle

Nice in summer for hiking, and alright for winter riding

DJ BFAD

This is a great place to go skiing. For beginners and experts. Better come early than its not that crowded. And take the bus shuttle from Lonsdale Quay. That's more comfortable than driving yourself.

Joel Grandison

I've been going to Cypress for 4 decades now. My only complaint are the prices. Otherwise out of the 3 local mountains in Vancouver Cypress has the best terrain and lifts with the best lodge locally to fill up in food and drinks.

Bee C

Speaking mostly on the nordic area but I am sure the downhill is bad too. Money making is top priority and not the experience. Incredibly busy, mostly with hikers, snowshoers', and tubers such that there is no where to park to ski. The ski area is small and always poorly groomed, often not even trackset; they don't understand grooming nor do they really care. They don't support local ski clubs nor community ski events like races as they don't boost their bottom line. Then they have the audacity to charge $30 for this privilege and instead of using this money to make a good experience, it goes to employing 2+ people to sell you a ticket and 6 people to check you bought one. They get away with this bad behaviour because they have a monopoly being the only local nordic area and I wish I did not have to support it but don't have the choice if I want to ski.

Junseok Song

Nice place, best advanced skiing on the north shore! Less flats than the other NS Hills makes it better for snowboarding. Gets super busy and has a very corporate, impersonal atmosphere which bummes me out. ????

Ivan Kamu

Too crowded. Not a safe place during Covid 19. They overbook their facilities. Long wait lines. You can stay up to 35 minutes in a queue to get a chairlift.

Caroline Chyla Vorraber

It’s terribly oversold given the COVID-19 protocols in place, rendering my season pass nearly useless. I attempt to go up once in a while, but regardless of time or day, your lift lines average 35-40 minutes.

Rachel Wong

The 2km walk to the rental place to find out you need a $300 deposit for your performance ski rental.... And then the walk back to your vehicle to get your credit card when this wasn't mentioned ever during the online process really sours the mood I have to edit this review and change my rating Andrew the Manager from the rentals department made this right....

Alison Sun

Their website has always been clunky, but now it makes it downright impossible to purchase any XC tickets. It gives error message after error message, then tells you to call the ticket office. The guy that picks up is rude beyond belief, tells you they are only an information line, and to show up and buy your tickets on the mountain. If they are sold out, you've made the drive for nothin. Off to Seymour, I guess.

Huang Sally

Runs are short but relevant to the the pricing for lift ticket.. enjoyed our experience and parking was convenient during the non-busy time.. overall a good experience but bring a snack because eatery was quite busy.. about a 15 min wait at the ski in restaurant and no wait at the cafeteria. Still better and longer runs than the two other local mountain's #1 Cypress 6 / 10 #2 Grouse Mountain 4 / 10 #3 Mt. Seymour 3 / 10 As a comparable Whistler/ Blackcomb would be rated 8 / 10 but the cost of lift ticket is much higher.

Jessica Cochran

World class experience!

Richard B

Great mountain with great views. Only problem are the queues. Half your time here will be waiting for lifts.

Christopher Brake

Excellent ski resort close to the city.

李彦祎

We got rain the second day and powder the first! I guess that Vancouver weather for ya! Some good beginner terrain and super close to Vancouver made it easy to travel to!

Daniel Gleiberman

Haven't been snowboarding here in years. Last time was in 2016. Big mountain feel without having to go to Whistler. But that isn't the case now. Prior to covid-19, it was already busy. I might have to wait to get a pass for at least another season, maybe two. Love the Raven grill to recover the energy expended in the morning. Beer and nachos! Never really shopped too much at the shop but had to when I left my goggles at home. It was a cold and misty visit, needed the eye protection.

Leo Lawson

Go night skiing to avoid the crowds! Come right at 5 and catch the sunset. Perfection.

Margaret Shuttleworth

Sweet terrain. Best resort on the north shore. Awesome slack country and touring options. Allows snow skates unlike lame-O Grouse.. boo grouse!! Staff at cypress is fun loving and laid back.

Gary Shuster

Lovely experience. Lot of activities to do in cypress. Enjoyed the day at Cypress.

Liam Steen

Beautiful mountain for ski, snowboard, and snowshoe. Quite busy on weekends.

Monib Sabet

Stunning up here. So convenient to be able to drive very close to the lodge and ski lifts with incredible views and lots of ski run options. There is a cafe and pub as well. Also the Nordic area has beautiful snowshoe trails tubing and tobogganing.

Leo Visuthiranon

Blue bird day for the last day of ski school 2019 for the #pandasinthepark. Great instructors thanks Claire, Bethany and Emil

Chris Macena

Nice place only thing is we arrived late and we didn’t get to go in for the new ride/activity Will get back surely to try the ride

Keith Level Energy

First year skiing and snowboarding in Cypress. Very friendly place

Julia Greene

Nice place to spend a day

This review is a more of a memory. One of my best ski days & fondest memories of my childhood friend Mark (R.I.P.). For a few years we both had ski passes at Cypress and would make a point of going up at least once or twice a week - we skied all the local hills but Cypress had that little bit of magic especially one night in particular. It was a random Friday night in 2008. I was tired from work and it was a dark, torrential rainy night in Vancouver - I didn't feel like going anywhere. But Mark was persistent "It's raining down here but Cypress is getting dumped on! Come on, we gotta go!" he chipped away over the phone until I relented. I hopped in the car, picked him up in Kits and we were on our way up the mountain. And he was totally right, Cypress was getting pounded with fresh beautiful snow. To our surprise it was virtually empty, we hit the first run around 7pm and blazed down a beautiful run with the entire hill almost all to ourselves! Up and down all night, each run a fresh track of powder. We were racing each other, taking selfies and laughing all while the snow continued coming down in sheets. "Whooohoooooo!!!" Mark would howl before hitting a perfect jump on Humpty Dumpty. At the end of the last run he insisted we hit the Raven for a bite and quick drink to end a perfect night of skiing. By the time we got out, we were quite literally the last guests on the mountain. The parking lot was ankle deep in powder and my car, the only one left in the parking lot completely buried! We dug it out for what seemed like an hour. I actually thought we might be sleeping up there at one point. Eventually we got out, having a good chuckle driving back down the mountain. It proved to be one of the last times Mark & I ever skied together, shortly after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and only given a few months to live. On the phone I reminded him of that night "Hurry up and get out of the hospital so we can hit the slopes!” - that was the last time I spoke to him. Now when I go up to Cypress I like to take the chairlift alone if possible, he's there up in the mountain, sitting beside me every single time without fail....

Ashley Dubbz

It was very very busy on this friday night, the line ups were enormous and it didnt seem to move. We paid 100 dollars for a night ticket to go up only four times..i would recommend everyone to only go on quiet weekdays because this was disappointing. It was just too busy.

thisissimonb

Went there with my school for 3 times. Had the same instructor everytime who was very nice.

Michael Lisowsky

Went on Dec 28/2020. Got up at 5:45 pm and waited in line for 2 hrs to pick up our pass. By the time we reached customer service, we decided to rebook our reservation as it did not seem worth the cost to be on the mountain for only 2 hrs before it closed. The customer service rep did mention that it was one of their busiest days so perhaps the line ups are not always as bad.

Glenn Kachmar

Awesome for ski and snowboarding, went on Sunday was crowded but still we could get parking easily and was not long line up for the gondola, nearest Ski area in Vancouver.

Gabriel Keith (GANDY)

Not a bad summer place. But all you can do is hangout and go on that coaster ans walk around. Shocking they aren’t cashing in on the Bike Park scene.

Sky Li

I have been skiing here for the past 1 month or so. So far I am happy with this place. The easy rider can be really busy during the weekend, so bear that in mind. Luckily I learned fast enough to say goodbye to the easy rider and move to the green runs. Also the food there is actually not bad and price is reasonable. The parking can be tricky, especially in the weekend morning. The parking lot close to the ski base will be full very early and then you have to park very far away and carry all the gears to the base...A good advice is to go there in the afternoon and there will be much less people and much easier to find a parking spot. Sometimes no one is checking the passes at the entrance, feels wierd to me... I saw quite a lot of negative reviews here, maybe it is because I did not spend enough time here though...Hopefully this place will get better and better.

Sand Cut

Great experience with Cypress Mountain from the start of the lesson to the finish. I needed assistance to book lessons, contacted customer service, Adam was very helpful and pleasant. We went to the rentals counter to pick up our equipment, Matt was great, he really took the time to give some helpful tips. My son had ski instructor Bouji, he was very patient and had a great day learning how to snowboard.

Alissa Merlin

Eagle express lift was having issues since last night, but website wasn’t updated until 2pm today… insanely long lines on lions express as a result. Not worth the drive, money, or time. After an hour lineup for customer service, we were able to get our lift tickets credited into a giftcard.

Robert Santen

Had a season pass the past two years and could not have enjoyed it more! Their early bird prices are unbeatable and very worth it. The convenience of 40 minute drive from downtown to on the slopes is unreal. Looking forward to a third season later this year. Edit 2021: Unfortunately I have to take off 2 stars as the recent merge with an American company seems to have steered the service a little lower. This year will be my final season getting a pass as the line ups, service of lifts and now new parking fees at the top are a big let down. Also the reciprocal mountains are no longer included with a pass. Shame to see it and the prices going too high to justify waiting in line for so long.

Pee Cee

Guys If you dont know sking, Dont buy any ticket at all. Just visit the place first. If you are going for the first time You need to purchase ticket for the gandola and Equipment rental(56$). There are three time slots 1st is full day 2nd is afternoon (2-10pm) and Night owl. Night owl is the cheapest. I prefer afternoon because i love to witness the transition from day to night. For first time visitors you can for sure visit the place without ticket and even go to sking areas for free. There are 5 gandola chair rides which take you to different elevation levels i advise beginners please to not tak Eagle express and Lion express at all it will take you hours to come down if you dont know sking just start with easy riders chair or midway elevation , Please do read maps on boards to learn the routes. Please watch some videos on sking before doing it, its not that hard but still you need to know the technique. It will be really great fun, a must do sport.

Karen Chambers

I had an amazing time there!

Robert Mclean

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received from cypress. After sitting in heavy traffic for 2 hours (before even reaching the second Narrows bridge, Lions Gate Bridge was closed) due to car accidents across both the bridges, I called to try and change the tickets to another day as we could not make it up. The manager refused to refund or change and I understand that its not within the policy but this is not acceptable at all. I considered buying the silver pass next year but with such service, I'll never buy a Cypress pass again and that decision is unanimous in amongst my friends as well.

Benjamin Galloway

Very good, only issue is reloading the skycards online.

Pegs Peggy

Love this moutain. Great skiing, good food at pub, and wonderful snowshoeing terrains.

Suhrab Kazi

Website needs to be fixed. Queue time keeps resetting with ‘unable to load data for queue.’ Also reception/email are unresponsive.

Dlysh “Diamond”

nice views... highly reccomend taking lessons if its your first time. it will definetly be difficult but once you get the hang of it you will be good!

Yeety Boi Jeff

*DO NOT PURCHASE COSTCO VOUCHERS* Horrendous customer service. I made the mistake of buying Costco vouchers, they tell me I have to go to the mountain in order to redeem them in order to make an online purchase. The website claims that you have to pre-order everything so that means you have to drive to the hill to redeem a pass and then go home to redeem it online. Absolute scam. Does not return phone calls or reply to email.

Real Scott Weller

Their website gives an error when you try to purchase. You ask for help and you receive help a week later, they don't pick up their phone calls, or respond to urgent messages. By the time they reply, the passes were sold out and I have yet to get any assistance regarding that... It has been a month since I tried to buy a family pass and I have gotten nothing. I was forced to purchase a ticket, with no help. Place is nice but there is NO ASSISTANCE and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

Chapmann Cheung

Best local mountain to ski on! The runs are amazing and the staff are super friendly! You should definitely check out this hidden gem!!!

Rohan Lakhotia

Great place for ski/snowboard. They have some beautiful trials for the summer as well.

Fremy

Today is May 19 2018. My fam and I were planning to hike to Eagle Bluff, but I wouldn't call it hiking for an obvious reason: snow. There was still a tremendous amount of snow. Thinking that it was almost summer, I went there with plain sneakers and they could barely cut through the trail. We weren't prepared for the unexpected. After climbing for about 10 minutes, we decided to go Grouse Grind-ing instead. So, if you want to hike, grab your snowshoes. They'll wing the trail just fine.

Mickael R.

Great service. Clean and safe. Thank you for your service Cypress!!

Judy Hu

Nice & small ski resort however it can be very full. Also a little pricy

Patrick Wang

Awesome walk around Yew Lake

Alice Oh

Whenever we have a chance to escape from town - we do that and Cypress is perfect. I like the area either you came for skiing/snowboarding or just to hang around with kids. I also like that there is huge building where you can order delicious food for reasonable price. Anyway the perfect day to spend there is a sunny day, because the views are perfect then and all the trees smell so amazingly

Megan Barrett

The slopes are really nice here. There are several chair lifts but because of Covid the lines and wait times are long. Masks are now mandatory and everyone is expected to wear one. We went to eat in the bar but they require the surgical type of mask for entry. If you don't have one they're charging $1 for a disposable one. It's a rip off. Go into any Starbucks and they'll hand you one for free so they don't lose your business. That's my only complaint. Otherwise, it was a good experience and I'll be back.

Falicia Mrzljak

5/5 for views!! The 5 hour hike was definitely worth it on a sunny day

Kirby D

Really great place with lots of hiking spots, nice views and good trails. The scenery is really good, and there is lots of shade. When you get to the end it is really nice. There is lots of parking before the trail. We went as a family and we saw a bear. It was a really great time.

Andrew Poznikoff

The walk was pretty. But the posting was non-existent for the Lights to Lodge.... Also, to charge 80.00 for a walk to a 'lodge' for 3 people (child included) and then make them pay 5.00 + each for hot chocolate that should have been included is a disappointment and rip off in our estimation.

Roy

Review regarding downhill ski/snowboarding. I'm an intermediate snowboarding (M-L terrain park structures, comfortable black diamonds) and Cypress is amazing compared to grouse/seymour. PROS: Much larger/more paths, daily coupons on website (half price Thursdays for students!). CONS: Grouse's "Cut" trail has a nicer view of the city.

Matthew Hamilton

Cypress authority really maintain the trails of cypress and making it more better. Hike at cypress takes you more close to nature. I love it.

Ornit Hadar

This mountain has become the worst one on the north shore. Being open last night during those conditions should have been illegal. Incredibly unsafe.

Denis Kartachov

Probably their best feature is that the lower park has a dedicated chair so you can lap it basically without lines all day long. Nothing close to Whistler and it would be nice if they had longer lines of rails to hit, but its 30 minutes from downtown.

Hannah Chiang

A fantastic mountain to ski and board, the only problem is trying to purchase a ticket online. Their Abysmal 1990's website will have you frustrated in minutes. You will literally sit on the loading screen for 5 to 10 minutes while your "profile is being retrieved". You'll then have to input all your information in again. While you try to input your guests name into the bar, it won't let you. I immediately closed the window and opened up the Grouse mountain website where it literally took seconds to buy tickets, they were also 30 dollars cheaper. As much as i do enjoy skiing Cypress, their online presence has cost them my business for the past two years.

Austin Jerhoff

Ownership chose to squeeze every penny of profit out of the season over customer experience. While other resorts were limiting day passes to effectively manage wait times during COVID Cypress chose to oversell day passes. 30-40 minute lines for a 400 meter descent because there are too many people on the mountain for the number of lifts. Love the mountain for it's terrain but a seasons pass this year wasn't worth it. Disappointed by management. Won't be getting a pass next year.

Daniel Murphy

Great runs! Quite busy but that’s what you get on a Saturday with good weather haha

David Morkel

No cues, no repeat ticket swiping once on the hill and when conditions are good it's awesome. Off piste snowboarder. My iKON pass works here to!

zen “zencc”

It's truly a great experience, staff is always ready, it's well organized, they offer you full support on snowboarding and skiing.

LIsa Jones

$115 for a day pass for only 1 chair and the bunny hill for most of the day? Whistler day pass is $80 more expensive, but includes 4x more terrain and lifts. Cypress Mountain Resort. what a waste.

Marek Kocourek

Best view to see Vancouver from the top

Raza Ahmad

The best mountain out of the local ones here. I rate this better than grouse and Seymour. Grouse however is easy to access with their gondola and bus but cypress has the best runs. Cypress is good for the newbie or even the advance. Good for snowboarders and skiers

Ryan Warfield

Absolutely brutal. Cypress needs to do something about the lift lines. 45-60 min per lift line is atrocious. I know the covid issues and the need for distancing on the chairs, but you either need to start reducing your ticket sales or bring in a reservation system. Add some more chairs this summer, there's got to be capacity for more chairs. Family season pass holder here, for years, and this year is brutal. Also, they removed the family parking and replaced it with $10 paid parking. So, all of the Mercedes, G wagons, and luxury SUV's have a nice close spot to park. What a sell out!!! PS- Try Hemlock, Whistler or Sun Peaks!

Paul Dante

My favourite mountain to ski in Vancouver. Excellent early bird deal on season passes and ski rentals. This place is a gem if you like to ski and aren't a fan of being ripped off by Americans in Whistler which has become Disneyland for the obscenely rich.

Jad Bou Mattar

What a beautiful day up on Cypress Mt.! One couldn't help but feel enlightened when one stands on the peak under the blue sky! It worthed the long line up for parking n chairlifts.

Evangeline Dalaya

Great hill if you want to wait in lines instead of ski

Cassandra Tracy

Favorite ski place at north shore mountain. Many runs and two express lifts. Close enough for a ski day or even after work. Great scenic views at certain locations, e.g on the top of sky ride. Good for all levels. Could be very busy with a lot of wait time especially during weekends when the weather is good. The RFID gates could be frustrating sometimes too, but service is always good.

Gabriel Krummenauer

tried to take my grandson tobogganing this morning, left more than enough time and they had traffic stoppped on road. we were stll in a line up on the road up as our time slot ticked away, tried to call on numerous occassions couldnt get through and NO follow up from messages left by guest services. finally get through at 6pm at night and told nothing could be done. there no refund policies are understandable, however when its the mountains fault for either overbooking or not allowing cars up the mountain, there should be some leverage there. will not return with my grandson.

Kei

1. The website is unbelievably bad. Booking tickets for multiple people on the website is gruesome. If a guest's email address already exists in the system, you can't buy them tickets for some reason. 2. No one picks up the phone when you call the customer line. Been trying for three days now. 3. You have to go to the mountain to use the Costco coupons. Why should I need to go to the desk during covid to use my coupon, and how can I possibly pre-book if I have to go there to use the coupon?

Scott Wang

Came to experience Cypress mountain for the first time and we were thoroughly disappointed. We weren't able to purchase online with gift cards because the website was having technical difficulties. A guest relations staff instructed us over email to purchase with another form of payment first , then get a refund of the payment once we get to the ticket office (see picture). When we arrived, the ticket office denied this email . Ethan at guest relations was very rude and dismissive, and said we were wrong to believe in the email because it is completely false. I said that the ticket office should honour their words , to which Ethan said there was nothing he can do and I would have better luck complaining to the Better Business Bureau and see what happens. Unfortunately, Ethan didn't try to offer an alternative solution either. After this humiliating exchange at the ticket office, I don't think I will ever feel comfortable visiting Cypress mountain.

Ed B

One of the best hiking with amazing views close to Vancouver

Baktash Attaie

My favorite local mountain in the Vancouver area. It's not Whistler but the chairs are fast, the sky chair has unbelievable night time views and there is a good range of fast challenging runs along with easy beginner grades. Worth the extra comparing with Seymour. Grouse is no less $ and doesn't compare...

cindy amimer

First and foremost experience to snowboard. I did great as a beginner. What a great experience and the place is beautiful. It’s a good place to learn snowboard or ski!

Ann Thakkar

Terrible service from the Australian guy just to get a lift ticket.

La Vitta E Bella

we really enjoy this place, espacially the private lessens with Emil and Robin in the Cyprwss snow school. my son loves the classes and progress really fast with his friends.

Chen Ken

Trade off: pricier and higher elevations than Grouse and Seymour, but a lot more terrain. The terrain parks aren't quite as well designed either. Great spot for night skiing though, and a fun bike ride up to the top too.

azadeh khat

My favourite spot for snowboarding. The terrain is just right for beginner-intermediate snowboarders/skiers. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Food is decent but a little expensive. Make sure to go early for free parking.

Vasiliy Baryshnikov

Loved the snow shoeing experience! Highly recommended!

Noel Rafols

Good road for a motorcycle trek. Then nice trails to go hike with scenic views!

Kevin Stone

Fun family ski area. Lots of variety in terrain. Good food options as well! Bring the whole family for a fun time in the snow. We had great conditions in april and loved it!

Mike Amonlirdviman

Great skiing, best place with the most runs in the lower mainland. Gets really busy, but that's to be expected. Restaurant staff are very friendly and the food is great (miss the whiskey Jack burger though) Hoping for lots of snow this year!

Sarah Closson

Challenging in the first 1km as its pretty steep. Afterward the climb was very moderate and the numerous little lakes were beautiful. The loop from Black Mountain back to the parking lot was well maintained. Too bad it was a foggy day and couldn't see the Lions and the water from Eagle Bluffs.

Bobby Bhinder

Have been skiing on Cypress for many seasons. It provides lots of varieties, great scenes and fun trails. If you want to avoid long waiting line on crowded days, go to Sky, Raven (for medium and up skiers/riders). These 2 lifts also serve some black and double black trails. Enjoy your visit!

e times

Great summer hikes. We did St Mark's summit and would recommend.

Alireza Mahdavi

Went for a hike to eagles bluff. Not a terribly hard hike but not easy either. Seen lots of wildlife around including chipmunks, ravens and a full grown black bear right in the middle of the trail so be careful out there.

Robert B

Beautiful day. Great little ski hill. Head up early (before 8am or so) if you want to park close by- otherwise be prepared to walk 5- 10 + blocks to the kiosk; long lineups there as well. Expect approx 10-20 lineups between each run at the lifts. Is it worth it? Sure. Great way to spend the day in fresh air & beautiful scenery- especially for you & your kids. (Just I think that the city should work on more parking & less housing up here.) Namaste

Yimin Xu

Love the new RFID badge system.. effective and efficient; mountain staff are helpful & courteous

Arthur Yu

1 star is too much compared to the mental and physical toll this mountain took on me. I set out to do the St. Mark's Summit trail wide- eyed and full of hope, by the time I reached Bowen Lookout my spirit was crushed. This hike was an abomination on my feet and my friend's knees. Going to war is less dangerous and probably has a higher survival rate than this hike. I'm currently still on the mountain because I couldn't climb down, really need a powerade.

A. Jafari

Went skiing with my wife and daughter on Saturday. The line ups looked long, but moved fairly quickly. The chalet was incredibly well kept and I felt safer there than most public places during Covid times. The sanitation was constant and well done. Spacing was great. Everyone was wearing a mask inside and in the lift lines. Snow wasn't great as it got sunny and turned to ice later in the evening, but Cypress has really tackled Covid well and we will be back. Lots of varied runs here and well maintained.

Rakesh .Vallabhaneni

Crowded xmas holidays which is expected. Road was cleared to the top so easy access. Limited close parking after 10 am.

Laura Beaton

I’d give 5 stars if you groomed your runs once in a while.

R Umlas

I like cypress mountain, several ski area in there.. close to Vancouver downtown.. you can go there in 30 minutes.. specially night time so beautiful in there.. definitely recommend night time.. there are open untill 10 pm..

Londoneye330 Isaac Y

Hike was great but what was going on with these bathrooms??

Braeden Peterson

they double charged my credit card twice & won't fix it. worst parking situation of any ski hill i've been to, just an unorganized mess. Cypress is being greedy, there aren't enough parking spaces for the amount of tickets they sell; & if you've already paid for a lift ticket but can't park anywhere, tough luck. what a scam. "sidewalks" weren't shovelled so everyone is walking through a foot of slush or on the road with traffic for 1.5-2 km to get to the chalet.. totally unsafe. for the price they charge for a pass they could more than afford to update their parking & actually have safe walkways for families to get to the slopes.. what a joke. will not return.

Bob Jones

$29 plus taxes per ride includes the chairlift ride up 900 feet. Maximum speed is 40 kmph and 1.1 miles long. I recommend that you try it out even if you are not a coaster fan. And don't get addicted as I am going back again!

Rafael Beltran

One of my favourite spots all year. In the winter, arguably the best ski runs in the Vancouver area, just a few minutes from downtown. In the summer, free parking, good hiking trails and a pub in the lodge open for a post-hike drink

Yan Yan Wu

A great mountain with good parking options, though it has definitely gotten a lot busier through the years. The ski life operators were very friendly on Christmas and managed the lifts very well. Please note, as of 2018 they **no longer have any microwaves for guests to use**. However, they do still have a restaurant and cafeteria to purchase your lunch.

Daniel Poon

The guest service supervisor Ethan served customers like servant, listening without patience, talking in the way of irony with poor attitude. No proper email address for customer opinions. The most terrible service of skiing resort experienced in B.C.

Wei x

Beautiful mountain, but their ski resort leaves a bit to be desired. At least during covid, it is very crowded and didn't feel particularly safe. Know that they do not check for vaccination status (unless you're eating in the lounge) in case you are worried about that. I went during Christmas Day and they closed the lifts at 4pm that day - making my afternoon ticket basically worthless (starts at 12:30). Don't make the mistake I did and go on a holiday It was fun to snowboard and a much cheaper and convenient option than Whistler if you live in Vancouver. However, note that lines are fairly long (100-250 people lining up for each lift) but move at varying speeds depending on the speed of the lift. If you have went before, it's basically the same as before - nothing really changed in the last few years with this ski resort.

Iris Xiao

Lots of hiking trails. Good footwear required. Get out and explore.

Gordon mielke

Always a great time. Lots of hikes in the summer and awesome slopes in the winter.

Kimberly Allen

Lots of parking. Easy hike to Bowen Island Lookout with lots if Nature to take in. Fantastic view with friendly birds and chipmunks

Gábor Salamon

Wonderful place, with all ski services, rent service and kids area.

Jos Beckers

I'm a beginner when it comes to snowboarding. I absolutely loved the chairlift experience as a first timer at Cypress! The staff was super helpful and supportive. The bunny hill was wide enough to allow me to build my confidence. I actually even had the opportunity to do a green run, twice! I highly recommend

Z.Ä.S

Great local mountain for skiing. Took lessons here and were really impressed with the instructor and ski conditions. We also rented equipment to start but the process for booking lessons and equipmenr was a bit tedious-hoping they automate requests online thru a calendar system next year instead of calling or emailing to make it more efficient! Otherwise looking forward to returning next season

Bill Yu

If you don’t have time, or don’t want to spend the money, to go to Whistler then Cypress is the best choice for local skiing. Runs for everyone from beginner to expert. Also great cross country skiing at Cypress’ Hollyburn! The trails are lit at night, a beautiful snowy escape from the city ????

Rowena Dela Cruz

Pretty good and beginner friendly. However can be very crowded for peak hours. In terms of value, buying tickets solo is only worth it late season, it's better to have a sky card or a season pass. To make them worthwhile you have to go frequently enough during the season. Food choices and availability is alright.

Gladys Lai

Been coming here for the whole winter Always having fun in here!

Dylan Hartley

Tubing is fun but hard to find parking even at 9:30 am.

LEONARDO BLENGINI

The mountain is good overall but the snow cams are all lies. They use recorded video rather than a live feed for their condition cams. Often the conditions reported are 0 degrees and snowing when in reality it's +2 and raining.

Leo Augusto

What's the point of a guest services phone number if no one answers and it hangs up? Terrible customer service.

Scotty Spence

Large queues for the lifts, but fun mountain!

Dariia Shevchenko

Good skiing with plenty of slopes to keep you busy for a few days. Good variety of slopes for the beginners and for those looking for more challenging slopes. Definitely recommend pre booking ski rental and passes to avoid the ques. Only 45 mins out of downtown and loads of parking

Bradley Meyer

As a avid but beginner snowboarder, this just became my new favorite mountain. Lots of great options and perfect areas to hone my basic skills. Seems to be lots of options for more advanced riders as well, so this would be a good place to bring groups with a range of skills levels. Reasonably priced for this expensive sport! A much more affordable option than nearby Whistler. GORGEOUS! I only wish it had been more clear out during my visit. You can see all the way to downtown Vancouver and the ocean on some sides, as well as amazing views of the mountain range. Truly an amazing experience. 12/10 will be back again!

MeltingTV

Great local mountain

Jackie Huang

Great place to ski or snowboard. Visit beautiful BC

Reyner L

Very poor customer service. After putting my neck out the morning I had booked skiing, Cypress refused to change my date for me and told me to drive to get a doctors note through email. I tried calling several times with no answer. I'm out $100+ for me and my son's unused lift tickets. After spending thousands on my son's ski lessons and years of lift tickets I will never go back. I've worked with the public for decades and never treated valued customers with such disrespect. Maybe get some proper management policies and personnel in place to speak to your customers and figure out how many thousands of dollars switching a lift ticket would have made you over the next few decades from me and my family. Sasquatch and Seymour are much nicer experiences and I'll never go back to Cypress again.

Bella Blanchard

Great snowboarding in the winter! The Crazy Raven has decent food and okay service. The service in general on the mountain is just okay. But the terrain completely makes up for it. Parking is free, but if you dont get there early on weekends, expect to be walking a country mile with your gear. Lifts are fast but slow down enough at the top to make the dismount a bit easier on the learners! Lift tickets and season passes are a bit on the pricey side, but can be worth it for the quality of snowpack compared to Seymour and Grouse. Decent hiking trails in the summer. The Cypress Ski Area parking lot is one of the starting points for Eagle Bluffs, St Mark's Summit, Black Mountain, and a few other hiking and walking trails. If you're hiking in the summer, BRING BUG SPRAY. And if you hike on the weekend, GET THERE EARLY.

Alireza Tabatabaei

A great local hill. For a quick morning/afternoon ride it’s perfect. Approx 30 min from DT Vancouver it’s a great place to get on the hill without the drive. A good variety in runs that anyone can have fun up there. The conditions do play a huge part in ones experience though. Naturally, when the snows deep and fresh it’s awesome! There’s even some pretty good double black runs that are a lot of fun with the powder. But when it gets icy, which happens a lot, the fun and joy slips away. Many of the more challenging runs at that point become scary and stressful to go down. But have no fear as the groomers always seem to be in good condition.

Debbie Chahal

It's gotten super busy over the last few years, it probably has the "most" terrain out of all 3 mountains, however the tickets/pass are overvalued for a local mountain, for some reason they don't open all chairlifts even when it's really busy, the people in charge don't care. I think ever since they got bought by a US company they got more greedy They also used to have a better terrain park but then got rid of it for whatever reason, personally I would spend my money on whistler or another local mountain

Yvonne Hopkins

If you’re looking for the best local resort in the Vancouver area, this is your place. Try night riding in the spring (after daylight savings) for some of the best views over the Salish sea and surrounding area ????. In summer, you can access the trailheads for eagle ridge and unnecessary mountain that get you over to the lions. Nearby hollyburn area is great for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, or great blueberry picking during a hike in summer.

Terry Greatsly

Pretty great, much better than grouse for skiing and snowboarding, especially for beginners as it has many green runs.

Jimmy Clarke

Pretty nice curing view with broad white color. Stuff is kind but a bit too expensive.

Monika Doedee

How can I give a mountain anything less than 5 stars? My favorite mountain when I visit Vancouver (usually in the summer). I take the easy Yew Lake trail and walk through the forest until (spoiler alert) the lake suddenly opens up in front of you. Love this place

S B

Way less people compared to last year (I guess COVID spooked some folks away). Very nice ski area, but I think a bit overpriced. Don't understand their mask policy - you have to wear it outside as well. I guess when masks are moist they will be ineffective

Freyden Tolman

Beautiful but way too crowded, if you head up there in the winter make sure u wake up first thing in the morning...

Hayden Sidey-Phillips

It's got the shortest lines and cheapest prices of all the mountains in town! Can't beat Cypress!

Hauke Roth

They need separate lines for lessons or something. Traffic and parking a nightmare

Sophia

This is a far more downscale place than Whistler but it would be a great place to take your kids skiing -- except for the giant sign announcing that only people with lift tickets can go to the restaurant upstairs. So if you want to eat while your kids ski, this isn't the place for you.

Todd Smith

This is the view from the lookout point on the way up the mountain. Very beautiful.

Charles

The worst phone and E-mail customer service I have ever experienced. I tried to straighten out a problem with their lessons department for 1.5 months and got no response to about 10 E-mails. I tried the other E-mail addresses on their website but they don't answer either. Tried to call a dozen times and nobody picks up. Then one day somebody picks up the phone only to tell me I have to write an E-mail. Looks like I have to drive 2 hours now to fix my small issue which is unacceptable.

Jack Zhang

A lot of slopes and lifts, there is even one on the top where you do not need to stand in the line.

Sam McLeod

Great trails for snowshoeing however we went all the way up to the lookout point but the trail was closed. Wish they would have told us at the ticket booth. Parking is also limited on busy days/weekends.

Zachary Lotts

Beautiful Mountain, can be very busy and the road up is long. There are two places to eat in the main lodge but quite expensive and like a cafeteria. Night skiing covers a large portion of the terrain. If you have a child who is either in grade 4 or 5 you can buy a snowpass for $29 and ski here 3 times as well as 150 other resorts in Canada

Beatrice Lee

If you get there early before the lift operates (830ish), you are lucky to get to the mountain top without long lineup. The view is just jaw dropping. Did not get a chance to try the sunset golden hour. Must be beautiful as well.

Nat S

I’ve been on numerous hikes on Cypress now and it’s become one of my favourite destinations in the Vancouver area to get out and get some exercise. Overall, it’s very dog friendly and there are both popular trails and quiet, less travelled spots as well.

Joe Kan

Looks it's not whistler but they do a great job for a local mountain

Gayan Sampath

Jonathan Lai

Snow boarding, ski and cross country, Gondola 30-40 mins from downtown. Depends on traffic

Dunk

Staff is rude. One guy was cussing at me for my parking. I filed a complaint and never got a response back. I attached an image of my parking job to show how unreasonable that guy was being. It was parked improperly, and I would’ve gladly moved it (for its own protection, obviously). But that certainly did not justify this guy’s behaviour, nor his behaviour after I complained. He came storming into the office saying I was a repeat offender lol! I’ve moved on to another local mountain and I’m really loving their terrain so far. So I guess it worked out for the better. Thanks rude dude!

Stan Lee

Sadly won't be coming here again. I've been a season pass holder for 4 seasons and luckily did not buy one this year. My brother and I took the day off work and paid $115 each to ski today. Cypress sold out all their prebooked tickets the day prior. We arrived at 8:15am (to line up before opening) and only one chair lift was open from 9:00 until noon. We were only able to get in 3 runs over the 3 hours due to the massive lift line, so we left to go home. Clearly the mountain does not have the staff to run the mountain and should not be selling out lift tickets if they are only able to open one lift. We were notified the other lift was still being dug out (however they only had 10cm of snow overnight). The volume of people up there for one chairlift is insane. Asked for a refund at guest services and was offered a 50% rebate in 'cypress bucks". I feel a full refund is in order over the massive waste of time. So disappointed in what used to be my favourite local hill.

Ray Gee

Big fan of the Nordic area. Going up to the top of the power line run is a fantastic view.

Francis Burns

Just learn how to ski first time but been there for the last 15 years for snowboarding, everything just got better and better

Jiawei Gu

Nice big area for skiing and boarding. The main resting area have several fire pits where you can warm yourself up or even BBQ some marshmallow. They are selling hot chocolate next to the pit for $2 per cup. I believe the fire pits are only opened during Fridays evening. A great open area next to the Olympic logo where kids can play with snow or even learn skiing. Awesome! Do take note car parks are quite limited though.

jasper de bie

Beautiful drive up the mountain leads to the ski resort and clearly mapped and marked hiking trails. Took the trail past Yew Lake, Cabin Lake, and Black Mountain. All beautiful stops. The trail is obvious and there are clear markers at intersections. It is very steep loose rock for the first 20 to 30 minutes of hiking. Then the trails become dirt, tree roots and planks. Can be very muddy. Views are beautiful. Lakes on the mountain are peaceful to see.

Herman K

Best place in winter ski skate and fun

Lorne Haveruk

Great place for skiing and snowboarding for starters and more professional folks. There is separate area for kids. Gear rental is great (could get stuck in a long line on holidays) but totally worth it.

deri kinsey

First time here at cypress, horribly disorganized system of getting to the parking and tickets. What was the point of booking online if we have to stand in a line one hour long to get tickets before we can actually get to skiing? If the management knows that this season is going to be extremely crowded then they need to implement a better distributed way of parking and ticket management.

Lorenda Calvert

Been there on Jan 2016 did snowboarding and falling in love with this place, it wasn't beautiful as whistler but I love the snow here and the way they organize trail, beginner, intermediate and expert. And all staffs are super friendly! !!! Go back this winter for sure!!

Alberto Sanchez

Most expensive one downhill run ever experienced. Restricted access, I don't know, all parking completely packed, 1:10 hours waiting in line to pick up pre booked lift ticket, social distancing in endless line ups not happening. Line ups for lifts 50 minutes on Eagle Express. To sum it up : 30 Minute drive from West Van, 20 Minutes searching for parking spot, 1:10 hours to get lift ticket, 50 minutes lift line up : almost 3 hours from West Van to get to the first ride in very uncomfortable, crowded conditions. Total waste of 218 CAD for one senior and 2 adults

Lisa Chen

Wonderful Ski Area next to Vancouver. Try to book your Tickets in advance and save money. Also, try to avoid Skiing at 10-12 and from 1-2 as it is quite crowded. They also offer great night skiing!

Yvonne

Shout out to Crusty for plowing the snow on the roads in order for all of us to get onto the slopes safely! Also, thank you so much Crusty for giving both a complimentary Cypress toque and a Cypress hat — we really appreciated it! As a Silver Pass holder at Cypress, I am pleased to say that the customer service is just wonderful and I always feel welcome and taken care of when snowboarding!

I R12

They only have one bunny hill open and still charge the full price ticket. And the bunny hill is so icy and slushy. Ridiculous!

Thanh To

Very satisfying hike. Trails are well marked with a variety of different terrain and views.

Callum Thomson

Best place out there to go ski or snowboard!! Awesome staff and amazing slopes????????

Catherine Byrdy (Byrd)

Short trip from downtown Vancouver. Great for snowboarders and skiers who wanna play the sports after their work at night.

Bernie Koestlmaier (Coast Precision CNC Ltd.)

Visited in Aug, 2015. Beautiful greeneries, association with nature, bay view, different trees - all combine to form a attractive atmosphere, soothing, feelings of life & joy.

Ruibo Cai

Great local mountain for ski and snowboard. If you need to rent any gears then better arrive early. They have restaurants and food court. Food in food court is not great and not cheap. They serve beer in the restaurant. Location is great for people who is living in Vancouver even if you don’t drive.

Nick Carere

Absolutely love this place. I think it's priced fairly with regards to variety and so on. As an intermediate snowboarder I feel there's plenty of runs here to challenge me and help me improve. In terms of amneties the food is pretty good and not too expensive, and the store has good variety but is very overpriced.

Derek Shin

Great place to hike, ski, and more

Bob Zhou

Awesome place to snowboard and ski. 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver if you catch traffic right. Nice after-ski lounge. Sea to Sky at its best!

Prateek Tandon

Had a really bad experience with the booking system, it tells you there is rental equipment available for the day but then when you book it, it says it's only after 4pm, and that's of course after I purchased the lift which I was unable to cancel. Customer service was zero helpful. Then they had only 2 lifts operating, ONLY 2, which created massive queues and very little action time. On top of it they appear to have no regards for COVID and sell as many tickets as they can, which they are very successful at and that would explain why they care so little about their customer service. Very disappointed with Cypress.

Tiffany K

My first time snowshoeing on Cypress Mountain and I loved it! Fantastic trails, well groomed and (thanks heavens!) well marked. The rental shop is well stocked and the staff were friendly, funny, and helpful. And the best part is the price!! So reasonable! Or maybe the best part is how ridiculously close it is for us Vancouverites!!

Hal Lee

Beautiful day! Amazing Mountain! Thank you Cypress

Hallie Ralls

Super busy on weekends. Expect to park very far away. They need better parking coordination. It's the best of the local hills though. Expensive, but your looking into skiing, so you can't be poor. As a rule

Posy Au-Yeung

Great place for snowboarding. Nice and soft snow and not too crowded.

Jelena Vuk

In the past we have had seasons passes at a different local mountain. We are very happy with the decision to move over as this mountain offers more terrain and challenging my kids to try something a bit more difficult. They only real issue I have with the mountain is the lack of organization for the lift lines. When it is busy on a Sunday afternoon it is pretty much Armageddon... People cutting lines, no organization at the back where it isn't roped off, at the front where lines merge no one cares about line order and generally have a me first attitude.. You really need to extend the roped off area further back, and have some one at the front keeping things in order.. I get frustrated by about noon and go home.. Update: 5 Star Since last year I am happy to say that Cypress has taken some of the feedback and implemented changes to improve the lift line organization. When it starts to get busy they do rope off the lines further back and things are generally more organized. I would love to claim that this is all my idea but reality dictates that likely many people may have suggested this change..or maybe common sense prevailed.. With that it appears the drive up to the mountain this year has been a disaster.. at 815 in the morning I have been stuck in lines well over 45 mins, and have had to park in the lower lots, this is totally different than last year where I could arrive at 830 and park in the upper lots.. This of course isn't Cypress' fault and won't deduct stars as a result. Plan to arrive early, or wait in lines or just come up after 1pm it is a little less chaotic.

Trinity B.

Waste of time, line ups are insane, 3hours 3 runs. How is this place rated 4.4 starts when ever second review is a complaint ? I grew up skiing this hill and its totally wrecked, I feel sorry for people who have to experience skiing like this.

Mohammad Okasha

Great place to ski but some of staff are not very nice

Dariush Malekirad

In the last two weeks I've spent $220 on day pass lift tickets to only have one chair lift open on both occasions.

Yisroel Feigelstock

Fun mountain. When tubing but had to wait a long time for the tube lift and to go down the runs. Slot booking was 1 hour 50 minutes and my group did a total of 4 runs. Wish they booked less people during the slot

jacob domenico

Exciting moments while skiing.

Dale Clark

We went for the hike up to Bowen Viewpoint. Well maintained trails and the view was superb.

Yamaha R1M

I had a chance to visit the Cypress Mountain today and it was amazing. Even though the weather was wet and cold, we managed to make it inside. One thing they may need to improve is the assessability between the lodge and the parking lot. We had lots of fun there, the upstairs area is big, and very well lit when there was sunlight. The food there, even though it's not unique, but there are enough choices there for you to choose from. Skiing there, in general, is very good, not a very long lineup for the chairlifts (it depends) and I could see why so many people go there. Tip: arrive there as early as possible so you don't have to park very far away from the ski area. Very popular place, and I really liked it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jen Pea

This place is seriously overcrowded. They need to expand the lifts or stop selling passes. The queues are too long, especially during the weekends. However, the views are unprecedented and they make it well worth a visit

We visited the mountain for snowshoeing. Picking the most hard trails, it still was possible to finish in a 4-hour period. The view was magnificent. Some sections of the trails were so tight or too slippery. More experienced people said it might be due to people walking without snowshoe on it. The path from upper parts of the lake to the lounge area was the hardest of all.

Kyle LeGrow

It was beautiful and way not touristy, there really was not a lot of people there. The hikes are not for the faint of heart, besides the Yew Lake Hike they will kick your butt. The view from the top is pretty but not worth it if you are not in shape or prepared.

Rob Livingston

Good day, grate service. Only wish the snow was better and that's coming from a guy who grew up in Revelstoke...... I do have to say though everyone I talked to in service was more that exelant.

Jinhai Lei

The tubing staff was so fun! We loved them. But the conditions were poor and there was zero regard for social distancing. I can’t say we’d ever go back.

Sean Mooney

Great snow in 2020, plenty of fresh powder, good value lift tickets.

Ryan Olson

Website is broken and impossible to use to buy tickets. The mountain is great. The reason I am leaving 1 star, is that their website is complete trash and not usable. We spent 2 hours trying to book the tickets on the prepaid cards. The navigation system is broken. I cannot buy a second set of tickets without an RFID Card number which wasn't provided to me after I purchased it. I will have to call in to figure out what's going on. I am buying tickets for a guest, it's extremely confusing, and I cannot verify at the checkout the names on the ticket. Instructions provided on the ticket are not readable and trimmed because they don't fit in the window frame. I cannot view what's in my cart, until I do the waiver. The terminology is confusing and not consistent when they refer to different cards and fees. It seems as 10 different people were writing the content for the website without interacting with each other. After I have completed the purchase, I cannot see in my account what I have purchased. THIS WEBSITE IS UNUSABLE! I strongly recommend spending some money of your multimillion $ profits to upgrade the website and improve the customer experience!

Chris Vallance

Snowshoed up to St Mark's Summit, away from the crowds on the slopes and above the clouds shrouding the city. Glorious!

Keaton Ambridge

Love this mountain, for hikes or snowboarding, especially if you come on weekdays, the staffs are helpful. However, sometimes snow condition are not good for snowboarding, icy and only a lil pow. Be aware that you will need your winter tires if you want make it to the top unless it hasn't been snow for days.

Darian Wickstead

Probably one of the better local mountains in Vancouver. It is also a reasonable price for their Seasons Pass.

Daniel Lopez

Staff is always friendly and excited for beginners to hit the slopes

Rodrigo Martin de Oliveira Hodorigo

Hard to believe there is any ‘limited tickets’ sold to help with social distancing. An hour to get into a parking spot (from East Vancouver). 45 mins line up to get my ticket. 30 mins line after each run. What a waste of time!

Khang Dang

Had terrible experience trying to reserve online where I was charged 16 times due to an system error message. Went to guest services and was very happy to receive best service. Thank you Natalie. It's good to acknowledge the good things people do to make your day better.

Aaron Brown

Called 3000 times. No answer. Very disappointed with their customer service. Will update further when I get my refund for the day they cancelled on us. At this point can't provide much detail

Michelle Gaudet

Service is non-existent. We needed to make a change to our ski lessons but no one answers the phone so I had to drive all the way to the mountain and I was promised that someone would get back to me....nothing for weeks and weeks and weeks. Very poor customers service.

Виктория Прудникова

I lost half of my day to get in this mountain (traffic), to rent my equipment (1 hour line) and had just a half day of ski... the thing is, they don’t seam to care about you having a good experience. I ask a staff guy about the line to rent a helmet and he told me that some days people wait 2,5 hours.... for sure this place allows 10x the amount of people that should get... but the mountains were nice and the ski were good! BUT 15 min lines to get the lift...

Michelle Ricketts

There is no way that cypress is limiting purchasing tickets properly, ticket line to grab your ONLINE TICKET was 1.5hours long, and then a 1hour wait to get up the hill for a 5 minute ride down! There needs to be less ticket available to keep the customer satisfaction up. I would much rather be able to have to book a week or 2 in advance, than be paying to wait in line. Cypress was never like this is the past years.

Robin Page

Very beautiful place, stunned views! But!!!!! : I leave today at 7:15pm and the gate is closed. A staff was extorting from me and my pregnant wife $ 20 or she does not open the gate !!! She was referring to some non-existent ad. My choice was paying or waiting till the morning. I have paid!! And they gave me instead of bill , some paper written by hand. Does their boss know what their employees are doing and how do they extort money ??? Does the tax service know what bills they issue and whether they declare them ??? Is it legal?

Felipe Briglia

Spent more than 30 days on the mountains this year. Kids learnt to snowboard and it was a good quality tike

Sarah Lord Ferguson

The chairlift equipment felt safe, the cafeteria has enough room to accommodate guests and visitors. The runs were good enough for most levels. The only downside is that there's a lot of people going to Cypress Mountain, go there during weekdays.

Geoffrey Stamp

Great local ski resort with great views on the city and the Howe sound

Rik Morel

I miss snowboarding... I truly hope that the place will be open next season if the covid disease has died down. The picture was taken in March, one of the last days that the place was still open.

Hooman Rezaei

The Eagle coaster is worth visiting during the summer. Not overcrowded and good for kids age 5+

Solen Yagihara

It's my second try to come to Cypress this winter. I haven't been able to snowboard so far. Their system of "buying online to save" might be true for money, but definitely not for time. I am an early bird kind of person, and even arriving 10min before opening, there is only one booth that is open for people who bought online. Last time I gave up after 30min waiting, let's see how it goes today. It's 2019, an I am not asking for a scanner at the lift that could identify myself through my cell phone, all I am asking is for a different system that allows me to arrive at the ski resort ready to go up the mountain and not spend most of the time I have to ski on a line for a booth to get a ticket

nhi hoang

Nice ski resort and area, great views, and a cool family area with XC skiing, tubing and snow shoeing. -parking was chaotic, snow wasn’t properly cleared before people arrived, so traffic was backed up due to cars parked half in the shoulder, half in the road -lack of garbage cans around hubs, so there was more litter than mountains like Whistler -snowshoe/XC trails had a cute warming hut halfway down the trail, which was an awesome idea! -snowshoe trail could use some love with a few overgrown sections (I had to bust my saw out at one point), and tacky looking signage (old chemical bucket lids with neon duct tape)

Cameron Fazli

Intermediate hike to Eagle Bluffs was worth the effort through the mud. We saw a lot of visitors with all kinds of gear, ranging from girls in yoga pants and bikini tops to random people in shiny white running shoes and a guy with a baseball bat just in case he runs into a bear.

Stanley Lin

First time up to Cypress, staff was friendly and I enjoyed the variety offered by the two slopes.

Cameron Coatta

Nice place to ski

Dana Sliman

Good selection of terrain. Weather was amazing.

Victor Shvets

Good skiing, fairly priced, quick loading on lifts during the week. Can be busy on weekends.

Steamworks 604

Love Cypress mountain I'm a new driver without any experience in driving in a heavy snow and the truck there made a really good job in maintaining the road clean from snow. Staff are friendly, NO SMOKiNG,a lot of parking space. Bring shovel for your car's windshield because when u get back from snowboarding car will have a lot of snow. food are expensive but that's expected.

Raphael Titsworth-Morin

This ski resort is amazing. The views on a clear day are stunning. Best views of Vancouver from the peak of Mount Strachan. Totally worth it.

Ryan Sabiniano

2021 is my second year as a season's pass holder. I went up for a day of snowboarding on Jan 7th, 2021 and in the process lost my cardholder which had my driver's license, credit card, debit card and season's pass. I found out when I came down from my first run and the staff wanted to check my pass. Of course I freaked out but every single staff was super helpful and guided me to check in with guest services. There, the lady printed another season's pass RFID card and didn't charge me the $5 replacement fee and encouraged me to check with the run I did. I went to to the staff at Lion's Game, and they haven't seen it but allowed me to bypass the huge line up (at least 20 mins line up) to go up and find it myself. At the top of Lion's gate lift, I thought I saw a corner of my card holder near the drop off so I spoke with the staff there. One staff asked everyone that came off the lift chair if they had seen my cardholder, and walked down and didn't see it and radioed their patrol staff, so 10 minutes later the mountain rescue patrol lady came and skied down with me inch by inch to find my missing card holder. It turned out to be a corner of a plastic bag stuck in the snow. So she encouraged me to snowboard down to the base while she will go through my first run and look for it. I snowboarded down and went to guest services and someone had returned it! I'm beyond thrilled with the kindness and compassion and professionalism displayed by every single Cypress staff. I'm also very grateful to the good hearted Samaritan who returned my cardholder. Thank you! I would highly recommend this ski resort for their friendly staff, easy parking, great facility.

GURMEET SINGH BHURJI

Spectacular views and great skiing.

Anant P

Although the mountains served their primary purpose-to provide a place to ski, the overall quality of the place was dissatisfying. The customer service varied wildly, with the lift and rental staff being friendly and accommodating. However, the staff in the cafeteria were not up to standard, kicking us out of our seats when a group of young males came along and demanded a seat. The overall quality of the institution was high, but the prices were higher. All in all, cypress was enjoyable every now and then, but left a lot to be desired.

Olivia Wang

Was an absolutely Amazing time on the mountain. Great runs Beautiful views and great people!

Alexander Lurye

The hike up to the top was very rewarding! Must need good preparation for snow covered trail & weather. I enjoyed this time so much because I had micro spikes on.

Jesse Deol

First time skiing. Had a very good time here.

Heath Delzer

Awesome place to be. My bindings broke thretimes in one day and I never got charged for repairs on my parsonal snowboard. Staff are super helpful

Kevin Willemse

Not sure I get the hype. Honestly nothing too special as resorts in the area go. Arrive at the wrong time and it's a very long walk to the lifts.

jon mullaly

Good amount of parking, reasonable quality of food, and runs for most levels of skill. Id say its a great mountian for your every day casual winter sports enthusiast.

Joe Lorenzo

the best. you can waking in more trails . amazing ....

Stuart Goode

Best of the North shore mountains, make sure to get there early. Always go for the closest line on the lift, they account for the extra capacity and all lines end up taking the same amount of time.

Victoria C. U.

Went for 5 Peaks Trail race. Challenging up find on the way down. Beautiful scenery at the top.

Chris Taylor

Some awesome back country in a close proximity to downtown. I didn't have the right gear for all the powder at the very very top so I stuck to the lower elevation groomed runs. But nice runs, and in the evening not long lines in the chairs.

Carla Angerer

Cypress offers the best skiing out of the 3 local mountains. It can get busy when the snow is good. #northshoreblower

Taliesin River

Coming from the ice coast, this small but beautiful mountain is a godsend and only a 30 minute drive from Vancouver. If you don't wanna pay ridiculous prices at Whistler and wait 45 minutes per lift ride, try Cypress! It's local, it's got good lodge food, and it definitely has powder.

Anthony Zylstra

One of the worst websites I’ve ever had to navigate, impossible to book lessons for children or find information. Wouldn’t allow me to purchase lessons for my kids despite me having all their information on their system. No one ever answers the phone when you call, no email responses either. Cannot believe it’s 2022 and this is how they operate.

Josh Yook (WinterBox)

Decent price. Website not too bad and you can get rentals and tickets all together. Prices are acceptable for what you get, especially compared to whistler. Some dudes at the rentals probably high, kinda slow, but adjusted my skis for the skis correctly and didn’t mess anything up. Tickets can be printed from machines which is fast and convenient. Just have your email ready. Lift turnstiles are rfid controlled which is also great. Can’t complain really.

Lauri Frausell

We had a great time riding the Eagle Coaster. Lots of fun for me and my 4 year old

Michael Montgomery

Mountain is great BUT I need to complain about the gift vouchers they sell at Costco... The voucher is unusable until you physically go to the mountain to covert it into a gift card. This policy is absolutely ridiculous when it's mandatory to book your tickets online due to Covid. There is totally no reason they couldn't have just made these full gift cards this year. I was given these as a gift to go skiing but in order to use them I have to either drive all the way up there to convert it and then book online to ski on a different day, or it unknowingly forces you into purchasing another day ticket at full price still.

Charmina Malanay

Over priced, over packed, and the online ticket system is garbage. Almost wasn't able to buy a pass due to it.

Michael McCaffrey

This mountain is extremely poorly managed and organized from the the beginning of your experience all the way to the end... The MTN itself has great terrain, it's too bad it can't be represented the same way. Terrible parking, rude staff members, long lines at every venue, poor chairlift maintenance, and the list goes on....

Ed

Great place to ski and wonderful staff members, best place for ski school and amazing views of Vancouver on clear days ???? if only we could tune up the temperature down by 2 degrees ????

Chris Kouts

Great mountain for snowshoeing and skiing

sam A

has the best runs of the local mountains yet suffers from oversale of tickets and long lines on popular days. Would recommend but i'd also recommend checking out grouse as well. Overall a good local mountain.

Reimar Goetzke

The biggest local ski mountain in Greater Vancouver. Weekend and holidays can be busy. Weekdays and night skiing is not that bad. Price beats Whistler for sure.

Rosa R

They no longer answer the customer service phone lines. Nor do they reply to emails. Even if you have a family's worth of seasons passes. They closed the lockers (other mountains didn't), they fired majority of last year's staff with less than a day's notice, so this year's staff are largely inexperienced and are not very aware. There a few senior staff holding the place together but the lineups are long, food quality low, bringing your own food and eating it is impossible since they took away all the picnic tables, and there is no shuttle to the very far away carparks.

Ben Pun

One of the ski resorts in Metro Vancouver with a number of hiking trails along the ski path. One can go hiking in both summer and winter. Generally speaking, it's an exposed area so sunscreen and protective gear are recommended. Need full winter safety gear (e.g. micro spikes). Be aware of avalanche in the area.

Peter Streiling

Great resort and despite the weather this week (wet) the runs were in good condition. Great eating facilities but they should make an effort to turn over the tables in the chalet more frequently. It seems that many families come in for the day and camp out at tables making it challenging to find a place to sit and eat during breaks. There should be a limit to the amount of time and the saving of seats. Otherwise, great mountain and excellent ski program (Raven Riders).

Arlez BB

Their website glitched while trying to buy two day passes and charged me twice. Probably called about 20 times in the span of 3 days and left a couple voice-mail with no response. In the end, was told there's no refunds, only gift card. What a joke. Love this mountain but never want to give them any money again.

Allen Chan

Snowshoeing maybe my new winter activity i think. Was alot of fun for all ages

Samantha Flesh

It was an amazing experience, I could see bears and breathtaking landscapes, I'll definitely go soon. ????

nitish kumbhar

Such a nice spot, being many times and still my fave mountain around the city

Kui Pan

Great place... Lots of snowboarding terrain parks... Friendly staff... Love it!!

Greg T.

Great runs and close to the city! Get there for sunset for some amazing views. There aren't many places you can see the ocean from the chairlift!

Roman Slaytanic

Great for snowboarding in the winter and many excellent hikes to do during off season! I've lived here my entire life and had never done St.Mark's summit or Eagle Bluffs until this year. What a gorgeous hike and well marked trail!

Devansh Babla

the mountain coaster was really fun. Saw a bear from the chair lift. Beautiful mountain

Roogdoog

I go to this ski resort every winter/spring season. It offers a large range of runs suitable for all levels of skiers or snowboarders. It is only 1hr drive away from most area of LMLD. Convenience is one of the success factors. It is kids friendly. Parking and long line ups at chair lifts may be a problem especially on holidays.

Jennifer Stanley

Worst local hill ever. You line up for 40 mins just to do one run.

Richard Gee

Lovely trails in the fall if a bit difficult to find from the parking area. Sadly our visit to a viewing area was limited due to cloud cover on our visit.

Sanee Iqbal

Typically I’m someone who enjoys skiing at Cypress, but after my most recent experience I am appalled at how they operate. Cypress has the audacity to charge $110 for a day pass when they only have 1/3 of the mountain open until noon. Even after noon, the Raven and Sky chairs, which service huge chunks of the resort and the vast majority of Cypress’ more difficult runs remained closed. As a result of this, we were made to wait in huge lines, with wait times often exceeding 30 minutes per run. This is utterly ridiculous, Cypress should not be promoting itself as “Vancouver’s biggest ski resort” if they can’t even open the majority of their runs. Moreover, Cypress shouldn’t be charging $110 to unsuspecting customers when they can’t even follow through on what they claim to provide.

Mohammad Emami

Pretty nifty ski resort close tot he city. A good variety of slopes accommodated by amazing views of the surrounding park. I would recommend arriving early, however, due tot he long lines for rentals and tickets.

Ryan Phillips

Love our annual family trips to Cypress <3

Sukhman Sidhu

Very fun place to get down to snowboarding or skiing. The cost is pretty fair as its not too high and lessons are very affordable and well worth it for starters. I think its only a dollar or fifteen extra for the lessons if one is going to do rentals since the lesson package comes with rental for the shoes + ski/snowboard and ski lift ticket. The lifts are fairly good, with a few running slower than usual. The Lions Den takes you up to a mountain with multiple paths for a good variety of difficulty. This is the one park which is open till 9PM for night snow paths.

filmmehappy

Such a great mountain for beginners. Chairs are easy to grey on and off. Not the cheapest ski hill, but still one of my favorites

Adem yılmaz

Amazing views, great trails and decent infrastructure for skiing. I have a beginner level of skiing and I felt completely comfortable learning to ski there

Amit Thakur

Hiked St. Marks Summit, it turned out to be foggy once we reached the top but Bowen lookout still had a great view near the beginning of the trail. Be prepared to slide unless you wear proper footwear as some areas steep and narrow

Mark Kamner

Horrible Customer Service!!!! I purchased two full day tickets online in advance, due to my personal reasons, I couldn't make it to the mountain on that day so I emailed them to see if I can switch to another day. First reply said no, all products are final sale, no refund no exchange date. I asked them nicely again, second reply said no again as it's against company policy. I mean, what could you possibly lose to switch my lift tickets to another day??!! Seems like they just dont care their customers, well, you can keep my $200 dollars, but you lose me as a customer forever, I guess they dont care anyways.

prerna saha

First time coming up this season and it was so much fun! We went snowtubing on a beautiful day and it was unforgettable! For covid, they have time slots that you can pre-book online, definitely recommend for the least amount of hassle. Also, bring something to eat because a lot of the food amenities were closed. And dont forget your mask! They're mandatory and keep your face warm!

Alex Rampage

Best place to go skiing from Vancouver, less than 1 hour drive. I'm a regular season pass holder.I just wish we had more snow last 2 years. I recommend not going at the weekends (especially from Dec to Feb),as it gets very busy. That is why you should disappear before 11am.Good times are during week days or night skiing - you can consider this as a great getaway after work.

JS L

Great mountain to learn to ski or snowboard with 2 really good green hills to use. And a nice sized bunny hill. I always love coming here. Had an issue with a mean old lady when I was getting my rentals, she just wasnt sure how to use her computer system and was getting frustrated at me. But other than that it was great!

Saiwan S.

One of the best mountains for winter sports and activities. However, I find the runs to be catered more for skiing. So if skiing is your thing, then this should be your mountain. There are tons of amazing hikes with incredible views. I recommend st. Marks summit or eagle bluffs.

Mohammad Alharbi

Still the best place for one day skiing/snowboarding. The rental place is clean and convenient with great staff helping out. Has awesome view at the top, with really nice slopes and turns. Will definitely visit again the next time I went to Canada

olim82

Excellent family ski resort. Best of the three local mountains with great long runs from easy to challenging. Would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the lack of healthy food options.

Anita Jordan

Went for snowshoeing, be sure to get a ticket at the/near the washroom, or you will not be allowed to the trails. It is a bit of a walk from the ticket dispenser to the skilift/trail entrance. Btw, the ticket is free. Well marked trails, easy hike to Bowen island lookout, not too busy early mornings on weekends.

Andre Nutini

Too expensive for a small ski mountain, a lot of people, even on mondays

Adam Wilson

Great mountain and terrain. However overcrowded and under patrolled. The green and blue runs are full of snowboarders and inexperienced skiers paying no attention to safety. If you have young children this is a huge safety issue. Forget about talking to anyone in guest services...they dont seem to answer the phones (not the way to run a business) I tried for a week with a simple question, phoning numerous times a day and still have not spoken to anyone. For years this mountain was tops on the North Shore but is now severely lacking in many areas.

For a Whale

Always a blast snowboarding here. Not only is cypress scenic on sunny days, the hills are pretty good and the restaurant food is great (poutine). Can get pretty pricey and dont expect to get pay parking on peak days even if you arrive by opening time. You gotta go extra early for that. However, on weekdays and non holidays the mountain can get pretty chill while everybody is at work. Perfect for repeated runs.

Rich Aguiar

Not sure how to rate a mountain, but there are lots of things to do here, so I guess it's pretty good. Huge points for being only 25 mins from downtown Vancouver. Snowboarding and snowshoeing are both solid for local mountains at a more affordable price than Whistler. There are also great hikes here, including Eagle Bluffs, which has awesome views of the city and the surrounding area.

Christine Davison

I've tried calling the customer service lines 7 different times over the last two week, sometimes multiple times. Inquiring about a stolen rental board and they never answer. Why have a line to call. Why have no voicemail. Terrible customer service.

Joban Badyal

Great runs 30 min from the city. Gotta love it!

Denny Pagtakhan

Hiked from Cypress Bowl all the way to Unnecessary Mountain. Snow approaching St. Mark's and on the way to Unnecessary Mountain but worth the hike for the experience and the amazing views. Stayed overnight to catch the sunset and sunrise.

Leon Lee

I have only been here in summers. Best part is that one can drive up to the base which is again at an elevation and it offers some great view points along the drive. I still have to try hiking up the mountain.

J Healy

It worths visiting only on super windy days with frozen rain drops. As it would be less crowded even with one chairlift open, and the wind will help groom the slopes. Of course, if you managed to get a ticket from its awful ticketing website.

Finnie FangLing Xu

Huge mountain. Some of the runs get a bit icy, but it's not too bad. Perfect for night snowboarding.

jengson

The parking lot quite hectic during skii/boarding seasons but during the summer for hike the lot is super empty. I recommend going early during the winter months to get better parking.

Nicholas Wennington

Cypress Mountain is a great ski hill and it is very well run. They have efficient covid 19 protocols and their Sky Card system is awesome.

Eloho S. Sido

It was a tough hike up to the top but fun to do and definitely worth it once you get to the top. The Cypress trail is clearly marked and easy to follow, it’s heavily trafficked and has walking trail for a significant portion of it. The trails were currently being fully covered in all the way. There is a “downloading ticket” option that is $79 per person and allows you to go up via the Chairlift which was beautiful. Note there was no social distancing in the cypress. At the top of the hill the no chalet and you have get snacks and some drinks.

Smallstudio Design

I come here for hiking in summer snowboarding in winter, it's a nice mountain to go for locals, closed to the city, it can be busy but they got big parking lot.

Evan Kim

Tubing for family of 4: $135 Value for money: 1/10 Would I return? Definitely not. We ended up leaving early because of excessive lineups, and it was kinda boring. Kids' exact words: "Dad, do we have to stay?" They clearly oversold the time slot - in an hour we got three runs in, each lasting about 30 seconds. The runs were heavily groomed so it wasn't fast, and the hill isn't particularly steep. Arrived early but parking was a gong show. Do yourself a favor and spend your family-activity money elsewhere. I wish I had.

James Plant

This ski resort is awesome and they have very good trails and some very good green and blue trails and this is very close ski restaurant to downtown Vancouver. I would definitely recommend this place if you don't want to travel long to Whistler.

Zhenia Poet

Natural and beautiful places, the colors and views are incredible!!

swerk26

Enjoyed my ski day! Got great weather, service and parking! Would recommend to stop in!

Alex Kong

Very nice place to ski with reasonable pricing and breathtaking views. You should watch the sunset!

Yiqun Chen

Wish we had more time

Jiří Nečesaný

Place keeps going downhill (not in the fun way). Absolutely atrocious communication with customers. Lifts not opening until 11:30 while continuously telling customers "half an hour" from 9am. Criminally bad management. Please stop blowing so hard. This was 2 years ago, far too polite: Accurate snow reports would be appreciated. I've been a passholder here for years and it is the best local Vancouver mountain, but liberties are taken with words like "pow day" and the reported base is a lot more like entire annual snowfall considering you can scrape up grass at mid mountain.

J H

If I could give a 0 star rating I would, bought a lift ticket and didn’t end up going as cypress emailed me stating the mountain closed due to weather which is fair. The unacceptable part about this situation is them stating they are issuing a refund within 10 business days and then not receiving that refund. I contacted guest services and they are now stating they didn’t issue the refund on time and now I am to wait another 10 business days… at this point I’m now having to go back and forth with Morgan-Belle in guest services as well as my bank. The main issue with guest services is that I spoke to two different people stating two different things so at the end I’m very frustrated and will definitely be going to Seymour in the future as it’s not worth wasting my time or money on a company who doesn’t care for their customers.

Nhatnoon

Last Weekend Of January’22 Well Spent In The Back Country Of Cypress Mountains ???? Snowshoeing On Fresh Snow ❄️ While Enjoying The Quietness & Natural Beauty ! ???????? ????????????????????????❄️????????????????

Scott Johnson

Open 8-10pm now! Snow season is started! My favourite ski resort in GReat Vancouver area! 25mins drive way from Downtown Vancouver, and 35 mins drive time from Burnaby! Love it!

Jehezkiel Eugene

Cypress is good, and easly accessable from Vancouver, however this time round the visibility was so poor and road conditions not the best. However the slopes are slopes mehn you gotta enjoy them ????

Kevin Black

Bring your own gear up to avoid the long rental lines, but otherwise my favorite of the North Shore mountains. Free parking, good range of runs for both beginners and experienced skiers, friendly and helpful staff, and great views of Howe Sound and Vancouver.

Marina L

Great place to ski, hike or just groove on the view.

Tim Inglis

Just been there for a quick hike with the dogs. Sunny day, not much snow yet. Gotta go back

Shauna Y

Eagle Coaster was a lot of fun. Takes about 2 1/2 minutes from top to bottom. Apparently they shut it down if it's raining quite a bit as the brakes becomes ineffective. There a restaurant called Crazy Raven so you can have some food or drinks and there's plenty of hiking trails from easy to hard. We even got to see deers on our way down by the side of the road.

Paul Craig

Impossible to book a lesson plus rental on their booking website. In January/February, I have tried many times on different days. I have sent emails: no replies. I called them on different days/time slots: no answer. I left a message on their voicemail (their voicemail's message assuring they would call back): never called back. What a loss of time for me and deep frustration! Zero stars to the customer service.

Gabriele Toffoletti

Really great hike in the summer. Beautiful reward at the top (maybe not quite as beautiful as the winter but pretty darn close)! The trail has a lot of unique features as you go along... Roots, trees, waterfalls, steep parts, lakes, views. Definitely worth it!

Ray Ho (HorayISO)

Great at enforcing social distancing and lines aren't too bad for wait times - perfect place for a local ski day!

Niveditta Mittal

Really nice in the winter. Great for cross country

Susan Heimsoth

The ski hill is pretty good considering proximity to Vancouver. Extremely suprised and frustrated with the way the mountain is managed. Seems like the owners are incredibly greedy and don't care about the customer's exeperience. What should be a fun day turns into what feels like a disaster due to overcrowding. I wish the owners would get a grip on reality.

Dave Hurst

4 lifts, and a pretty decent variety of runs. I really enjoy it! And the views of Vancouver and Howe Sound are pretty awesome. The also have some pretty reasonably priced passes.

Darren Potts

Excellent place to ski in Vancouver. Lots of terrain open at night. If all you want is to ski terrain park this is not the place for you, the park is average. This is my favorite local ski hill.

Jenny Seu

Great place to ski and snowboard.

Mauro Varas B

Awesome place to go. You can spend the day off up there for hiking or snowboarding in the winter

Joe

I didn’t arrive yet and I’m already feeling disappointed! I talk to Abby from “customer Sirves” and when I wanted to book my ticket she didn’t had an answer for nothing and every time she keeps me on hold , so booking a day trip took me half in hour and this is after 3 days that I’m trying to call them and no one answering! after she booked for me I needed help with rental ski and every question that she didn’t had the answer for it or she felt she answering twice she just let me know that she gonna hang up the phone on me ! But I explain to her that I recorded the conversation and she can’t just hang up on me after she took the money and I'm trying to talk as will! and I need some explanation! Just like that, she didn’t mind explaining over and over again and not in a nice way. It took me 3 days to be able to book with them because they barely answered the phone or hang up on u!!!!!! And then she explain me that if I gonna be late for the rental ski that I paid for it i may not get it at all , it’s didn’t make any sense and I tried to get more explanation but again other then repeating the same word over and over again she that this is how it works and if it’s not enough she will hang up the phone because I don’t understand . Customer service treat u nice before they get the money and hang up after or stop answering should be recorded !!! We deserve a nice explanation for our money !!!!!! And patient for those who don’t talk English fluently!

Beautiful place, Fantastic for skiing/snowboarding

Orri G

Very beautiful place for hiking! There is also a lookout spot with birds that will literally land on you!!

First off: its the name of The Provincial Park & the privately run ski resort, yet in fact there’s no actual “Cypress Mountain” - it’s really known (by locals) as “The Cypress Bowl” derived its geological bowl-like valley shaped features nestled between 3 peaks: Mount Strachan, Black, & Hollyburn Mountains – The downhill runs are built on slopes of two Mt Strachan 1,440 m (4,720 ft) & Black Mountain – 1,200 m (3,900 ft), w/ vertical rise of 610 m (2,000 ft) Cypress tends to be less expensive option than Grouse Mtn. & can drive up switchback road only a 30-40min. drive north of downtown Vancouver - offers spectacular views of Metro Vancouver-Lower Mainland & across Salish Sea to Vancouver Island. Cypress has 53 named alpine ski runs (most offer night skiing) & 19 km of cross country trails. Snowshoeing tours are popular. Snow schools & rentals, Food venues; • Cypress Creek Grill, • Gold Medal Cafe • Crazy Raven Bar & Grill Retail: • Big Bear Sports shop in the Cypress Creek Lodge. Cypress Mountain hosted the Freestyle Skiing & Snowboarding events during the 2010 Winter Olympics, incl. SkiCross as a demo. sport, & 1st run of Snowboardcross as Medal sport. Cypress Bowl Recreational Limited Partnership, owned by Boyne Resorts, after several sales flips always ran the operations yet finally repurchased the resort in March 2018.

Odmendon Blacksmith

Vancouver is blessed to have 3 ski hills less than an hour drive from downtown. It's pretty tough to beat that convenience. I love being able to go night skiing after work. All of them have some fun skiing but Cypress is the biggest of the 3 and has the most variety. The snow quality here isn't always 10/10, it fluctuates a lot. The snowline tends to be right around the same elevation as the resort, so it gets cycles of snow and rain. And the lift lines are sometimes long. The skiing here is not going to beat other places in BC like Whistler or Kicking House. If you are a tourist here for skiing, you can easily skip it. But if you live here in Vancouver, the convenience is well worth getting a pass.

Anmol Ahuja

A bit crowded in the weekend but a very nice place for skiing. There are a lot of slopes of different level of difficulty and some ski lessons for the beginners. Equipment rental and return is very well organized and the quality of the equipment is very good. I would recommend booking your tickets and your equipment rentals online. There's also a nice restaurant to have a lunch break during the day.

David Reimers

Had a great series of lessons with Joe Weston who got me skiing down greens after being a complete beginner in just three lessons! Five stars for him, four stars for cypress as they never answer their phones or emails, but the staff are incredibly friendly, accommodating and kind in person

Neba Jorgacevic

Great skiing they should really consider revamping their website, it's a terrible mess.

Darren Li

Best mountain in Vancouver, with a great mix of run difficulties for a mountain that’s just 30 mins from the city. This is a spot that can accommodate the first timer all the way up to Olympic hopeful. Looking forward to be new season!

Vitali Stolpner

Roads are not icy. The mountain is pretty big and the runs are fantastic. Did here is also very nice and not too expensive.

Daniel Tanner

Not only you hike ski but you can also sit back relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee. This place has everything one can wish for.

Ashley D'Souza

Mountain is pretty good but be prepared to walk over a kilometer from park to ski lift on an average busy day. Doesn't make it very kid friendly.

Amanda Lim

Love it! Great experience here, I took ski lessons and was fortunate to have the instructor to myself. Rob was super patient and understanding, fun and energetic to be around. My first time learning to ski downhill and I chose the perfect place for it. The rentals were all clean and maintained, was very organized and staff were all pleasant. Food in the lodge upstairs was pretty good also, you must try the chocolate fudge cake, nice little treat after burning off some energy. I'll definitely go back next season.

Sally Parker

A great place for skiing and snowshoeing. I would not recommend their new eagle coaster. Had to wait an hour and a half in the scorching sun for one ride. The management is all over the place, and the way they operated the coaster was not efficient. Fun, but it’s not worth the wait and price.

Lesleigh Stanley

My favorite local mountain. I wish they would figure out a way to expand or otherwise reduce the lineups though. Going there during a busy period is a waste of time as you will wait in line at least 20 minutes between runs, sometimes twice that.

Mauricio Drelichman

My local. Largest ski area on the north shore. Food is reasonably priced and filling. The repair shop also deserves a shoutout, they made a valiant attempt to repair a small split on the nose of my board.

Song Bai

Lovely snowshoeing experience. Must book in advance but worth it. Fresh snow, it was amazing ❄

crossriver.

Ok Mt Seymour, I love you more, but Cypress Mt shaked our relationship...

Josh Smith

The primary ski resort, not as big as Whistler, but closest to Vancouver, has many different ski runs, skiing in winter, climbing in summer, very recommended

Rimardo Martinuz

Cypress is a great beginner mountain. Easy parking and friendly staff!

Erika S

Website is complete garbage. Please fix this. Took me a good hour to purchase ticket and rentals.

Peter McLorg

Absolutely atrocious customer service. Line ups an hour long with only 1 chair open (when their website states “all chairs scheduled to open at 9:00.”.) This was our second visit over the holidays and it was the same story both times. Avoid this ski resort at all costs.

Constantin Sirbu

Fantastic winter season! Loved the addition of the outdoor seating and burger joint! Staff helpful and Thanks to the Cypress Team for keeping us all safe!!

Fang-Wei Liu

nice place for local skiing. Very well prepared for Vovid-19

Kanupriya Sharma

Best of the costal mountains for views and sport. The staff are professional and fun. Food is great. Price is fair

Amanpreet Randhawa

The best skiing resort, to me at least ( i know it can be arguable) This has a variety of great runs with stunning views and reasonable prices

Kevin Guo

This is the best small ski hill in BC. For the price of 2 day tickets at Whistler you can have a season pass at Cypress. I rode 65 days this year for 300 dollars. That's insane. Amazing views, wildlife everywhere, night riding 7 days a week, almost every year they get the most snow fall off any hill in BC. I freaking love this Mountain and they give lots of love back. They reopened the hill for one extra day last season just cuz it was so awesome out. When had a ski hill ever reopened after the end of season? Monday morning to Friday afternoon you'll have the hill all to your self and never wait in a single line up. Whistler sucks. Seriously and it's only gonna suck more now that Aspen owns it.

Richard Pang

Great ski hill in the city. Has 4 big lifts Wich are awesome. Prices are good as long as you buy ahead of time. The food in the cafeteria was surprisi reasonably priced and tasted good too. If you don't buy your tickets ahead of time, it can get pricy. Also the snow is usually good but it can rain here often.

Vincent Mok

This place is going "downhil"... haha... and liking an antivaxxers tweet is a clear reflection of the ineptitude of their staff.

Guillaume Boisset

Best ski resort in Vancouver with ease PS. When I broke my back on the slope Ski Patrol was very nice and helpful

Ikvinder Brar

PLEASE HIRE MORE TERRAIN PARK WORKERS THERE SHOULD BE MORE JUMPS AND THEY SHOULD BE OPEN AT 9AM NOT 12PM. ITS OBVIOUS YOU DONT HAVE ENOUGH WORKERS. their customer service is very good, they aim to please, and they are the best of the 3 local mountains. the ski repair is excellent, better than sport chek. none of the local mountains are 5 stars, whistler is 5 stars at best. i dont like how we have to scan pass everytime going up the chair lift. social distancing could be better in the ski lines.

FeiFei Han

If you have kids that need to learn how to ski DON'T GO to Cypress. They do not have sufficient resources to teach apart from a handful of kids group classes that sell out in August. The only option are private lessons at about $150/hour or kids classes that are offered during the week which is no help if your kids go to school. Also if you are considering a silver family pass and work during the week be aware that in addition to the black out period in December (which I knew about) all weekends in January and February are also blocked out. This essentially means that if you have kids that go to school and you haven't already skied you'll need to wait until March to utilize the family pass. I contacted guest services for a refund a week ago and have not had a response. Very disappointed!

reb lee

Ryan was an amazing ski instructor! Beautiful mountain!

Scott Cadwell

1st day of the season, cars got stuck in snow, no help from the resort; 2 times we arrived early to enjoy the new snow and twice the lift did not start loading till at least 15 minutes after 9:00am and all early birds are stuck there waiting them to finish whatever they should finish before claimed opening time; charge each car $10 on supposed to be free parking area , and the area is getting bigger; no matter how busy the lifts are and how much they are delayed to open, they close a couple of lifts at 3 or 4 pm without considering the sunset time at Vancouver is almost 6pm; we were removed from the eating area because of some activities and when we came out of the dinning area, my daughter told me the reserved sign was not there when she took the spot. This definitely the worst service we received as season card holders and we are moving to other mountain for the next season.

Matt Beckstead

Hiked to Eagle Bluffs. Steep climb, amaizing views. Funny miss cabin lake and the the sides views from black mountain. The round trip to Eagle Bluffs took us 5.5 hours. Wear good hiking shoes, no need for poles. Was very crowded on a lovely Saturday.

Sampson Low Real Estate

Good snowboarding place, great food options too

tony wan

Very open and big ski place. Great run variety. Biggest and best ski in metro van

Dhanaji Suravase

20 minutes away from Vancouver. Has multiple different level slopes for all levels of Skiers and Boarders. Awesome restruant for wine and dining, or a grill for a fast grab and go. All in one boarder and skier dream.

Paddy Nicol

Decent ski area, very busy and the hill is typically filled with beginner-level skiers and snowboarders, but that is expected. The staff here are friendly, restaurants and food is decent.

Robert Watts

There are many trails and beautiful views on Cypress mountain for hikers to enjoy. There are public washroom and parking also. There is a viewpoint, a couple hairpin before the very top for everyone to enjoy also. The picture capturing the view of the city was taken on our way back from hiking Mount Strachen. The rest of the pictures being shared on this post was from the hike.

Oleg Sannikov

Outstanding. Best (local) ski hill in BC from Vancouver. The equipment was brought to you as quickly as possible and the equipment comes with everything you need to have a great time! If it's sunny then the ski hills become soft and lumpy (and much more difficult). It was great for practicing cuts but more difficult to gain speed without falling over. If it's not sunny then you can expect an easy hill but a painful fall. I loved the service there. Thank you Cypress!

Ahmed Coutry

Recently I had an issue with their 3 weekday lesson package and was unable to contact anyone from Lessons for several weeks. I honestly thought it was a lost cause but was able to get in touch with their manager and the problem was successfully resolved. For anyone else dealing with issues and having difficulty reaching Cypress staff, be patient. It took me a while but the end result was good for both of us. Afterwards, I did feel as if Cypress did care about my business and I will continue to use them in future seasons. Way to go Cypress!

Andy Liu

Great place to ski in the winter and hike in the summer.

Jade Nicole

Amazing as always. Staff are trying really hard to reinforce health orders and remind people to always wear their masks. Follow the rules and we all get the continued benefits of the mountain for the season!

Sahar Khajeali

Went before Christmas, December17th and 23rd. Line ups too long due to Covid 19 and parking was a nightmare and chaotic! Some of the runs were closed as well. So be prepared to wait in the line up an average of about 25 to 30 minutes per run for Eagle and Lion Express Chairs!

Cody Mclachlan

Small mountain, crowded place, the lion express lift stopped for 20 minutes. Do not go when it's raining in downtown, since it won't be snowing up there as you expected, and which will wet you completely and ruin your day!

Alex T

There are free parking and paid parking. Raven Lift is open, that is good for intermediate level skier and snowboarder who can play blue and black runs. Less people, no waiting, more social distance.

John K

Was there for the Eagle coaster ride. That was fun, though I would appreciate more shade spots. Maybe those cheap plastic car tents would work.

Sim Bal

Great experience. Friendly staff and fresh powder.

sajedur rahman

My daughter and her friend who had never ski before went to Cypress Mountain's Raven Riders Spring Camp. Their coach Tomas Z. had done such an excellent job to help them learn and improve, they are able to go on ski with so much confidence. They had so much fun and think this is the best camp they have every been to. Thank you, Tom!

navataru

Wonderful place to walk, enjoy extreme sports and enjoy nature

Tristan Gau

It looked pretty dry. Coaster ride is amazing. Have some trails to enjoy.

B Scholz

Very badly run place, would advise stay well away

Ann White Law

Good variety of terrain and different runs. Best ski hill on the north shore. Great deals for silver seasons pass, quick drive from Vancouver for a few hours of skiing. Lodge has reasonably priced food and drinks.

Georgina Worsley

Really convenient to the city and some pretty decent skiing. There's not loads of runs but enough to enjoy for after work or a weekend blast.

Gus Silverio

Went to the tubing park here recently. It was quite fun but they only had two hour increments and we got there 15 minutes late and they made us leave right at the end of the time. It would’ve been nice if they let us stay for an extra 15 minutes.

mark smith

Nice place to go for a walk ????‍♂️

Gypsy Rose

Cypress worker is good. I dropped my glasses from lift Patrick tried hard to find out.thanks again

Jes Vid

Loved it, lots of different trails and the views are amazing.

Nicholas D'Amico

Do not buy GIFT CARD , unfortunately their system does not work. I was planning to go to Cypress tomorrow and their Guest Service is not helping at all despite my 6 calls, 4 emails and 1 facebook message. Impossible to find a solution to use the giftcard to buy lift passes and ski rental.

Frank Kaminsky (Frank K)

Big mountain experience, but too crowded and busy. Not sure how they can manage the crowds better (they do a pretty good job already), bit if you don't like line-ups, don't go on the weekend!

Beverly Williamson

Easy online booking. Staff was helpful. Trail was beautiful! Tried cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Would definitely come back. Snow was so soft I loved it.

Monika Herrmann

AWESOME local mountain for all outdoorsy activities- hiking, boarding and skiing, sightseeing.

Karen Lizeth

I go skiing here, great place. They have many cool programs for learning to ski, racing and freestyle. Many lifts, two expresses. Probably the best ski mountain in Vancouver. My favorite part is the awesome parks and tree skiing. I have skied here for quite a few years, and hope they decide to upgrade Raven chair. ^_________^

Wyatt Anton

This is my first hike of 2020 and I simply love it very refreshing ???? I recommend it to everyone who love hiking, cabin lake is 2 miles from cypress parking and eagle bluff is 2 miles more from cabin lake. Hopefully will go again to explore more ????????

Brayden Gunnarson

Amazing views. Hopefully there are no clouds or fog when you visit

Ryan Cutting

Great time as always!

Tim Nguyen

Best local mountain I think for skiing and snowboarding, but crowded with extra long waiting lines on weekends and evenings due to COVID19.

Ann Asal

Mountain is great, website is pretty poorly set up. Two different prices for RFID cards depending on if buying alpine ($5) or nordic ($2.50). Unable to use alpine RFID to reload with nordic passes (at least I was unable to with either number on the card WTP or P). Unless you really dig into the sky cards, it's not explicitly clear what the benefits are, and even still there is no price savings on a per visit basis between buying 2 days or 3. Further, there is no afternoon or evening sky card deals so you can just ski for cheaper if you buy a one day pass later in the day than buying a 3 day sky card... not entirely sure what the 'deal' is here. When trying to buy for a guest, you can't buy/pay for a guest that already has a login. (ie my wife has a profile on Cypress' site but I can't buy her a ticket s my guest because her email is "already in use") Payment information is rife with redundancies - I have to sign in using my email, and then reconfirm it twice for billing purposes while checking out. While trying to fill out my CC number to pay, the cursor kept moving around so the digits didn't appear in the sequence I was entering them. Thankfully I had a card saved to file so I was able to select it. Overall, the mountain is great but I can't believe the same problems I encounter time after time (have been having these issues since last year) for a pretty prominent local mountain. This is not meant to reflect poorly on the resort or staff but they need to fix these issues and I'll happily give a 5 star because it's a dope mountain.

Adam Taber

Wonderful ski area to hangout all day long! Food is nice and has reasonable price. There are a lot of parking space. You can ski back to the car park. We always have a fun to come here!

Cowzzz -4Life

Spent a wonderful day skiing with my son.

曾維多

Some of the best hikes close to the city and it has EV chargers, I wish it had more than 2 chargers though, at least 10 to start with

SHALEN DHINJAL

Two days in a row that they only open one lift. The tickets were sold out, the line was a 20 minutes wait. Totally not worth it. I’m not buying pass next year. Would like to go for Seymour or grouse.

Stuart Olley

Been coming to the mountain for the past 4 years, (The runs are fantastic but keep reading). unfortunately over the seasons there has been a massive increase in pricing, a drop off in customer service. Mountains are being closed regularly for weather conditions which have seen worse days and remained open in previous years. THE MOST FRUSTRATING PART is the false communication on the cypress website. Everyday they state "its a great day to hit the slopes weather is looking good etc." yet, the Howe Sound area weather reports state otherwise, cautioning for blizzards, storms etc. It would be nice if they could be genuine with how the conditions actually are up there. Wastes every riders time commuting up expecting a full day of riding, taking Cypress' word for it and being given lousy night boarding tickets as a parting gift lol.

Adam

Our go-to ski/snowboard resort. Tons of parking with a very nice facility providing food, washroom, rental, lesson, and guests service. A huge variety of runs with different levels and their dedicated snow making in the early seasons makes it attractive for early-goer.

Michael Turner

Gets a point for just being a mountain- but otherwise the epitome of what makes horrendous customer service. I believe they are just a company camped out on a coveted mountain top taking in money because they can but not because the company skill set deserves it.

Ali Zekri

Way too expensive. 99 for a day pass. ???? I get this industry may be hard to make money, but if you don't have the whole mountain open, you got to give the customers something back. Can't ask for full price and not deliver the full service. Even a 20 percent off at the restaurant would have been nice. People might actually spend more money with less services!

James

It was a lot people today.I thought Covid-19 is over.

Aria Varma

Just another beautiful day at Cypress Mountain! The views are spectacular!!

Rob C

Don’t come for any park riding

Kyle Rogers

It's no wonder that Canadians outlive their southern continent counterparts. The amount of winter activities you can do here just 30 - 40 minutes drive from the downtown area is amazing! The trails are free for snowshoeing/sledding which is what I came up for. If you want to do cross country, I believe it is about $15 or so for the trails. I didn't see how much the ski rentals are. Restrooms are small, but plentiful. And flushing! The hot chocolate here isn't bad, at least it doesn't taste like a chalky made-from-powder type of beverage. One tip: if the cafe area is crowded, check out the trailer connected to the outdoor tent set up. It isn't marked and it is usually for folks waiting to go for lessons. However it is much less crowded and you still have a small view of the slopes.

Randy Plett

Decent up-down-up hill climbs. Couple bears. Great sun.

Mike Ruddell

The new Eagle Coaster is a great ride and lots of fun for kids of all ages.

Adam Y

Hardly worth the drive to find that you have to park way too far away. Time to consider skiing elsewhere.

Nikhil C

Been a skier myself for over 10 years. This is by far the best mountain for skiing in the greater Vancouver area. Food is good, prices are fair, interior is cozy for a cold winters day. Top notch mechanical team helping you service your skis at anytime quick and at a fair price so you can enjoy another run on the mountains yet again!

Rajbir Manhas

Had a blast at this local mountain, food was amazing staff was great ????

Andrew Baranowski

Best local ski resort by far

李叙衡

Great multi mountain night skiing! Beautiful views and easy access! Will be back again.

Masha Rademakers

Just got off the mountain, it was terrible experience. It is so warm, they should just close the lanes. The snow condition is really bad, grass and rocks are exposed everywhere. Very dangerous.

Gina Yuen

Conditions were pretty decent. Some choppy spots but still really good conditions. Probably the best local mountain of all three of them.

Mydhili Furtado

This is the best ski resort within the 100 mile radius of where I live which is Victoria. It is affordable yet fun filled with 2 mountains to ski. The only downside is that It is always overcrowded with wait times for lifts up to 30 mins.

Derek Shi

Night snowboarding is an epic experience and we loved going! It's almost worth getting a night seadon pass for as it's so cheap in comparison to Whistler! The snow quality isn't the best but a great time nonetheless

H W

Fell 30 times but it was worth it, limitless funn

Spencer Stubbins

I anticipate our experience will be good but the online booking system is by far the worst experience I've ever had. I'm speechless.

Phused Raise

The best slopes in the all of Vancouver that are always an amazing blast to go down. Unfortunately everyone else knows that too, it can get very busy during the day. I recommend going by for some well priced night skiing, it's especially affordable with a Downhill Gold Medal card.

Nick J

Waited in line to get on the mountain for thirty minutes to find out the chair is down so we leave ask for a refund and are not provided it because the chair was only down for a moment. During this moment guest services told our friends on the hill that they don’t know when it will be operational again so best to not come up. Called in spoke with guest services and am turned down immediately and met with basically zero sympathy or understanding. Will not be returning unless this is rectified.

Kunal Lugani

locally, worst costumer service for mountains. not very helpful what so ever. pretty much on your own for figuring things out. highway robbery

Hudson M

Whole experience was awful!!! I spent over 100$ on a full day ticket, arrived early and they only had 1 chairlift + the bunny hill running until 12:00, when they opened 1 more lift. People were straight up walking up the main runs because there was a 45min wait to get up the 1 lift they had working. I asked for a refund, and they said no, without even blinking, and said it's not even worth emailing the mountain because NO one will respond! Love a staff that actually cares about costumers ???????? . Laziest mountain crews and staff I've ever seen, including the people who are supposed to be helping others. Everyone looks like they don't wanna be there.

Trevor S

Coolest mountain, with the hottest dudes.

Elena G.

Great for skiing, snowshoeing, etc. in winter and hiking in summer. A lot of amazing trails that lead to breathtaking views of Vancouver and Howe Sound. Be bear-prepared and don't get lost!

Антон Кожуро

Great but quiet chellanging trail, especially when warm. To first viewpoint you hike about two hours long. Beautiful views. Recommended to hike early morning of end of the day, few hours before dark. Especially in the morning you can see beautiful cloud view. One of the nicer st hikes in west canada we've made

Andrew Doyle

Good for summer hiking, winter skiing/snowboarding and snow shoeing! I love the variety of hikes at Cypress without having to drive too far.

Yu Chieh Chang

First weekend of the season. Frustratingly crowded, only 1 lift running half speed. Staff did not fill lift chairs. One hour wait in lift line.

Alisa

It has good view on the peak about the horseshoe bay. Foods in food court are delicious. Good to practice snowboard/ski for people in Vancouver.

D H

Cypress Mountain makes no effort to modernize any aspect of going skiing, it is the same old long lines and high fees as usual. Sad to see an incredible mountain stuck in the 2000's. As a millennial I value my time and waiting 30 minutes to fly down the slopes in 5 minutes is not one of my priorities. Not sure if its possible to open the other chairlifts, but it has to be done eventually as wait times were terrible. They also charged me FIVE DOLLARS for an RFID card which I found to be a joke.

Jacky Lau

St. Mark's Summit is part of the Howe Sound Crest Trail that spans over 30km from Cypress to a point along the Sea to Sky Highway near Porteau Cove. The section of the trail that St. Mark's Summit is on starts from Cypress Mountain which is the first mountain along this route and offers spectacular views of Howe Sound on a clear day. - vancouvertrails.com

Raye McAvoy

It is such a beautiful place. Well maintained and the personnel so friendly and helpful!

Liam K

Best local hill IMO. Although the snow conditions vary from day to day, I find it more consistent than the other 2.

Aleks Efremov

Always go there for snowboarding, they have switched to a new kind of chip ticket, no more hassles with the sticky paper

Andreas W.

Hiked to Eagle Bluffs and it was amazing... very muddy though as it had rained a couple of days prior to. Worth the hike... the views are amazing.

Leslie Lowell

A fantastic local Vancouver attraction that offers activities no matter the time of year. In summer, there are an array of different hikes for different levels of adventurers. In the winter, there is an amazing ski resort with a variety of ski runs for all level of skiers and boarders. There is also tubing available for those who dont ski. The chalet is large and inviting, along with options for food and coffee.

Jenny

Cypress is the better of the local three mountains (IMO) for terrain. Operationally, Cypress can be extremely frustrating to deal with. The Customer Service division is non-existent; do not even bother trying to call the mountain, even on a weekday. We have been season pass holders for the past three years and they have managed to mess them up two out of the three. This year they issued us new passes but kept the old passes active. Our new passes wouldn't work at the lifts. It took the customer service team multiple attempts to rectify. For the past few days we have been trying to renew our passes for next year. This has created a need to contact customer service...we have called many times throughout the day (at all different times) with no answer. We have left multiple messages with no answer. Also, if you have concerns regarding COVID procedures, this is not the mountain for you. At the very beginning of the season, Cypress was quite diligent regarding enforcement of COVID safety protocols. I have not seen a Cypress employee walk the lineups at the chairlift to enforce mask compliance any of the days I have been up since December (many). Although most people are respectful of the rules, it appears that Cypress no longer cares. There are many people who are not wearing masks and I have observed zero enforcement at the lift lineups where the risk is greatest. Perhaps they feel the extra expense (minimum wage per hour) to have someone ensure Public Health Orders are followed and their guests kept safe was cutting into their profit. This mountain is not worth the frustration. It's marginally better than the other two but you're going to be irritated with all kinds of garbage for service.

Brenda A

I took the snowboarding lessons at cypress in February. Thank you to all the team for organizing these lessons. The whole process was smooth. Special thanks to Bruno for being an amazing instructor. He really understood the requirements of each and every member of the group. Worked hard to teach, was always punctual, prompt in replying to any queries. His knowledge and skills of Snowboarding is greatly appreciated. Would definitely recommend Bruno to my friends and family for snowboarding lessons.

Raymond Chan

Beautiful mountain with sick views and runs

Rayblipdar

Way too busy recently. It's very apparent they've oversold themselves and can't handle the numbers when everyone shows up. Communication is mediocre and usually too late (lift updates at 10am not helpful if already stuck in the parking lineup). Not sure if I'll get a pass again next year...

david adams

There isn't a lot of variety of slopes and they aren't groomed. The cafeteria is crowded all the time and the food is expensive and doesn't taste that good. The beginner slopes is a waste of time because the lift takes at least 10 minutes to get to the top and it takes a minute to get back down. The real slopes are more for intermediate level skiers and some advanced trails. The lifts can also sometimes really crowded and the lines can be 10 minutes long. They also say that it's a quad chair but it should be a tri chair. But the price of the tickets aren't that bad.

Emily Sax

The mountain itself is by far the most playful, adventure packed, and nicest place to visit out of all local Vancouver mountains. The staff suck though. No one seems to care, why should they though. You only spend hundreds of dollars to come up for a day. Things like keeping the snow makers off on pow days would be nice. Making the line ups easier to maneuver by putting ski poles and rope up. Basic things even smaller mountains around the world know how to do. I know that some experiences are better than others. Although for the people that come more than a handful of days through out the year. We see the lack of ambition. Make Cypress more than a good mountain to ride. Make it somewhere people want to come and enjoy because of the thoughtful staff. The attention to detail. Consistency is key for a solid foundation.

A K

Best local mountain around. Lines are not the best but whatta you do.....

Ted Williams

I don't write negative reviews, but Cypress Mountain customer service is beyond horrible. I called several times to deferred my season passes in mid December because I did not want to visit due to covid. I left couple voice mail and no one from Cypress Mountain called back. I later tried email and only got a response 2 weeks later simply rejecting because of deferral program ended in mid November. I tried to offer different ways to settle this and no one at Cypress mountain seems to care. There is not a sigle person at Cypress want to take care of their customer when it comes to concerns or trouble.. Spend your hard earn money else where.

Joanna Harkness

The mountain is local accessible and has runs ranging from beginner to expert. I love going to Cypress but over the last few years it has gotten much to busy. I find myself waiting I line for a day pass for nearly two hours every session. A new lift and more ticket vendors would make Cypress the perfect mountain for servicing the Lower Mainland locals as well as tourists. But as for now it is only OK. Although it is still much better than the rest of the North Shore.

Jason Arya

Beautiful and fun snowboarding experience at a very reasonable price!

Paul Julian

Great mountain, beyond terrible website, disorganized lessons, very frustrating to book and seemingly impossible to rectify issues. Why offer lessons at all if you don’t have the staff to run them properly???

Nana Liu

Such a great place with just a few minutes drive from town. Good trails for all kind of people.

Robert Keyser

Hill reasonable, gear staff good. Great time new years. Nice fireworks display! Thank you :) The restaurant and bar has the worst service I've experienced in recent memory. The menu says to be patient as staff are and training... fair enough, that seems like a management issue.

Keegan Lloyd

The largest of the local resorts and a host site of the Vancouver winter Olympics, Cypress has 3 main chair lifts, an on site cafe, restaurant and gear store, and a wide range of slopes for different abilities. While it doesn't have the same views of the city on a clear day and is noticably more expensive to get to than other options if you don't have your own car, it is nonetheless a great slope to have so close by! Note that both the shuttle bus and parking are cash only ($25 and $10 respectively). Worth a visit imo if you have the chance

Rob B

Awesome local hill great views

Gunnar

We went skiing in April which isn't the ideal time (only about 1/2 of the mountain was open) but it was way cheaper so I still feel like I got my money's worth and it wasn't busy at all so not too much waiting around. Highly recommend going even out of season!!

Peter Lee

Great place for scenic rush driving experience, all the way to the top of mountain meet up and discover Aliens lol.????㊙

Evie S

Great local mountain with lots of snow (26 snow guns). Short lift lines if you go early. Mediocre grooming compared to other ski hills. New rentals setup is much faster. Lots of seating in overpriced cafeteria. Raven Bar and Grill has excellent food, drinks, and service!

Maria Hehr

Great city mountain to access on a day off. Great options between the two mountains and always a green or at least a blue in every place for the beginners. Some directions could be better placed as there was a section in which you had to go further past some trees to see a blue run among the blacks.

bruce rowland

Bit far and traffic going up is bad at times, but the snow here is pretty decent, there are a lot of choices for runs, and lifts, according to personal experience, aren’t that bad of a wait as long as you avoid the two largest, main lifts.

james sommerfeld

Awesome place ,cozy restaurant . Food little bit expensive but it’s worth it !

N C

Great day..plenty of snow...facilities are perfect for families, beginners and experts

Ravitej Singh Cheema

Nice downhill ski place close to town. Not too busy on a weekday. Beautiful view of the city from the top!

Peter Couch

Best local mountain ski resort in lower mainland. Close to the highway. Night time ski/snowboarding is not too crowded. Offer ladies nights

ekkehard goetting

Awesome mountain for riders of all skill levels. Check snow conditions before you go and order tickets online in advance to receive the best price.

David W

Took a wonderful hike up the mountain… A bit challenging and steep at the beginning but leveled out and was worth the amazing views at the end

Ryan Pan

Beautiful area to go all year round. During winter is one of the best ski resorts around Vancouver. During summer, lots of hiking trails and wildlife. I haven't tried their ragle coaster yet, but it looks sick!!

Leo Rimanic

Had a blast

Jason Yang

I grew up skiing here and it's amazing. The staff are always great and helpful and the hills are well groomed. The chalet is warm and cozy.

Lukas Koenneke

Went to Cypress mountain for the first time to ski and had a blast! Staff is very friendly and the resort is very well maintained. Paid $180 for a full set of skis including helmet, skis, ski boots, poles, snow pants and the all day lift pass. Definitely recommend if you’re a beginner like myself. It’s important to also bring your own waterproof ski gloves and ski goggles.

yimin yuan

Great access to entry level backcountry! Great place to run beacon drills.

Kay M

It was amazing the mountain was not open but still had an amazing!!! it was so nice to get out to have a snow day!!!! We are planing to get a sled and going back all winter long it's so nice to be in the city that o e minute can be at ocean and half hour after can be in the snow.

J

Great place for an easy hike. The last 10 minutes are uphill, but overall is super easy. The wow at the end is completely worth it.

Adrian Siqueiros

No masks/vaccine required for lifts. No social distancing in the line. Definitely not a safe place to go during covid. And they sold too many lift tickets without considering the wait time in the line. And their guest service never answered the phone call. Oh and their online booking system. Who made it? Did you hire a high school student to develop it? My friend couldn’t even get a single ticket when they were planning to go today. Looking forward to see them getting shut down again.

Ruveen M

Looks awesone, first snowing, cypress time coming soon

R R

Went up with a full day ticket at 2pm and they closed the lifts at 4pm. Took a day off work and spent $90 for two runs. Would have been nice to know my full day ticket was a half day ticket at the time of purchase. Customer service did nothing about the situation and simply said "our hours are on our website", which they were not at the time. Wonder what would have happened if I purchased the night owl ticket they were also selling? Looks like Seymour has my business this year.

Karen W

Snow tubing scheduled at 10am. Sat in traffic attempting to park for over an hour. Called the Nordic section of the mountain asking if there was any plan to allow guests to be able to stay longer due to the inadequate job managing traffic and parking. The manager told me in a very snippy tone more or less we were out of luck. Once we arrived at the parking lot we were informed by the attendant the lot was full and we would have to turn around drive down the mountain to find a place to park alongside the road to park and walk back up. Absolute mess of a ski resort and after speaking to three different "managers" no refund was offered and no extended time was given so we left without ever hitting the slopes.

nick butler

Took the day off to go skiing, got there, tons of fresh snow was stoked. but.... they ran 1 lift the entire day... said there was to much snow to handle to open the other lifts? Is that not the point of the ski mountian??? To get lots of snow??? Lines were out of control, this resort has gone way down over the last couple years Asked for a refund as we only got 2 runs in as the line was a good 30-40 minute wait and couldn't make sense of paying $120 for 1 chair to be open, but was denied a fill refund. Very disappointed

Slava P

Great hiking area. Well marked trails but be aware of wildlife. Saw multiple bears

Mina

Really beautiful. We went up the hikers trail. Instead of going to the snowshoeing exit, follow through to the skiing point. Parking is free, but parking by the ticketing booth is pre paid parking or so. For hiking or free snowshoeing or with crampons walk towards the ski lifts and you’ll see the hiking signs, just follow the red poles. There are two options of either 3.5km (eagles bluff lookout) or 7km (black mountain). With about 435m of elevation gain. The views at the top (black mountain) are amazing. We caught the sunset. So beautiful. And there are birds that will come play with you: perch on your hands/head with/without treats for them.

peter pan

Friendly staff and nice smooth slopes!! A bit busy but I went on family day!

Blair Hardman

Love night snowboarding...

Tyler G

Fun mountain close to Vancouver, so easy to make an afternoon or evening ski run. The lifts seemed reasonably fast, and the runs were fun. Don't expect Whistler, this is lower elevation and much smaller. The one gripe I have is the mess the parking lot can be. Was there with 5-10cm of fresh snow (lots of wind, so depth varied) and the was a layer of ice under that. So many stuck cars! Before you comment, yes, cars with good snow tires were stuck. It wasn't a high centering problem, it was an ice problem. The mountain needs to do something to either keep ice from forming, quickly remove it once it is formed, or help people out in the lot. In the end, people helped people, but lots of time was wasted both by people needing to get pushing help to get moving and by people waiting for cars stuck in the way to get moved. Just be careful in the lot.

Kyan

I stand in the Cypress parking lot waiting for my friend to return from his 40 minute hike to get his car from their distant lots. Could have been easier if they had shuttle service like a professional operation. But they don’t. We arrived to discover one lift operating along with the bunny hill. Their app says three. The wait for the lift is 45 minutes. Cypress could have their lot attendants let us and all the others know the situation. But that would have been way too simple and respectful. At that point we would have turned around and gone home. Instead it's now two hours since we arrived and we’ve yet to have a run. We are going home. Disappointed and vowing never to buy another Cypress pass. Congrats Cypress on sub-par customer service, communications, management, and marketing.

Shoshanna MacQueen

I love this place so much, and I wish I could live closer !

Raymond Yeung

Cypress mountain resort is the worst rider experience by far out of the three local hills, would not recommend Cypress to anyone. Grouse Mountain and Seymour Mountain are much more rider orientated resorts and provide a more welcoming atmosphere.

Daniel Castrell

Nice place to visit. The staff overall was very dedicated and happy with their jobs. You will only be allowed to go up the gondola at your alloted time. There is no sight seeing up, its only the coaster ride down hill. Do not take the ride if you have a bad back because it is a bit rough at turns. Ample of free parking, clean public bathrooms and restaurant is available.

Frank Hui

Amazing staff! The hill can get very busy on the weekends. Only tip for people who haven’t skied in the West Coast- it will rain so come with extra gear and make sure you are wearing a waterproof suit.

Corey Fehr

Snowshoed here. It was so nice. Gorgeous trails well away from the skiiers. The view at the end of the steep hike was well worth the sweating and panting. The slopes here look awesome too but the snowshoeing trail is free so if you are just looking for views. Go do that!

Justine Jawanda

Must go in Vancouver! Mountain air and ocean breezes…. Nice view over West & North Vancouver up to Downtown & Stanly Park.

Alexander Shcherbak

Great ski mountain with powdery slopes. Free parking. Expensive food options at the cafeteria but quite cozy.

David Carr

I’ve been coming to Cypress for a few years and always love the experience. It is a great local mountain to get up after work and always fun on the weekends when the snow is fresh. I learned to ski here and would recommend the pass to anyone who wants to go throughout the season as it just gets cheaper and cheaper. Conditions are often spectacular although they can be icy and rainy but the weather isn’t their fault. Best sunset place I’ve ever been to.

Chris Wright

Went for the first time and love it.

Ashkan Asgari

Sometimes very crowded it, specially weekends, expensive, but I would say it's the best mountain in lower mainland. So if you do snow activities, this mountain is a MUST!

Kyle Hutchinson

Cypress Mountain is a great place to ski in winter and to go birding. When going up cypress mountain to ski or snowshoe, consider leaving on a weekday, and leave in the morning to avoid traffic. There are good places to see birds, such as Eagle Bluffs in summer and First Lake at Hollyburn Lodge in winter.

Jay Secord

Awesome. Did the St. Mark Summit. Went for the Bowen lookouts and the Howe trail.

Raff The Reviewer

Most know that Cypress is the best ski/board mountain in the lower mainland but I'm posting to give kudos to their amazing ski patrol staff. I walked in to first aid after busting my wrist in the terrain park and their staff were already treating other patrons. But that didnt stop them from attending to me asap with the most professional and courteous service. All of them were super thorough and caring with a great sense of humor. Chelsey who was the main person to treat me did a fantastic splint job and made sure I got the best treatment they could do. On top of that I had only 3 runs before my injury and while sitting in the lodge awaiting my friends, she took the liberty of looking for me to provide me a new pass with rentals for next time since my day was wasted. I never in any way asked for this and it's this kind of going above and beyond customer service that will keep me returning as a loyal customer. Her and her team are truly heroes on the mountain and Cypress is blessed to have them.

Robert Lilley

The ski runs are the best in the local Vancouver area, but the management is just terrible. The queues this year have been enormous, mot weekday evenings it is a minimum 15-20 minute wait for either Lions or Eagle. I often see people skipping the huge lines by using the ski school entrance, with no lifties or anyone calling them out. The app is atrocious, you would be better off flipping a coin to determine if the lifts are open than checking the app. I don't know why it is so hard for Cypress to provide some kind of lift/line/weather updates on their app or twitter. I've spent evenings there where it has snowed all night only to have the app show 0cm for the last 7 days.

Awesome view. The quality of snow varies in different weather conditions.

Gavin Burgess

Hiking in the summer (not all trails are dog-friendly), skiing in the winter, Cypress offers something to do all year round. There are a couple of nice (and popular) view/picnic areas on the drive up - the better views are at the first lookout, the nicer picnic area is the second one. Some of the lower level trails (back towards British properties and Grouse) start from the area of the first lookout. From the ski area parking lot at the top there are more hikes, some with spectacular views out over Howe Sound. It is a very busy ski hill and nordic skiing area in the winter, although quieter areas can be found if ski touring is your thing. Facilities for skiers are good in the winter and the prices are pretty reasonable. Waxing is done for a great price and the ski techs are very helpful. You can get into serious back country terrain quite quickly from here. Stanley Park it isn't, so come prepared if you are intended to fully explore the more challenging routes.

Rose Ga

Awesome experience. Absolutely worth spend the whole day here.

SHIRLEY Leung

Wonderful ski area. Lifts are well run, lots of lighting for after work skiing. It is expensive, but they have good discounts for evening skiing. Definitely the best ski mountain in the area. Lots of parking available. Just wish the ticket sales were a bit faster - as it is you wait in line for a good 15 minutes to buy tickets.

Courtney B

Did not try skiing just walked around. Nice place.

Garret Conlinn

Very good place

H Max Wu

Big corporate company destroying the reputation of this local ski hill. This year they have had major staffing issues and they haven’t been upfront about it. A lot of the time they open late and can’t get all the lifts running making it extremely busy on the lifts they do get going. Parking is abysmal due to people coming up for the scenery but not actually accessing the resort itself.

王冰

Hiked the st marks lookout and it had amazing views at the top. Make sure you go on a non cloudy day to see the best views

Moe Heimour

Great resort with a variety of terrain. A good choice for beginners or advanced riders. They have a good lift system which usually keeps the crowds moving even on the busiest days. The Lodge i was updated during the Olympics so it's good a good atmosphere. Try the chilli and poutine. Prices are a little more that the mountains around the area but you do get what you pay for.

Kyle Bousfield

Perfect weather for snowshoeing. Challenging "hike" as a good portion of he trails can be done in boots which is typical for most trails. The outback trails were beside one of he ski runs which allowed some interesting light so getting back late was not a problem.

Amir Roghani

Amazing views with beautiful trails. What a great experience.

Rohit Suri

Snow is just dependent on the weather - but it's been pretty icy this year. Good range of terrain. The line for the lifts are just ridiculous this year - anywhere from 20-40 minutes of wait time. It is just super busy on the slopes as well; lotsa beginners and people that just zoom down with no 'etiquette'.

Marco C

Lots of ample parking with access to multiple parks. It can get quite busy so arrive early if you don't want to wait for people to pass and get a photo op. Gates close 6pm in the Fall now. Make sure to double check the time if you plan to stay beyond 6pm!

Sarah Steckly

One of the prettiest places in BC, whether it be summer or winter.

Randie McCready

Has a great view points and ski resort. You can see downtown and stanely park

Marty Mcfly

One of the best ski resorts in BC and part of winter Olympics 2010. It’s half an hour drive from downtown and is pretty well maintained. The number of chairs is limited compared to Whistler but the pass price is reasonable. If sunny, take the Lions express and then sky chair and see the magical view.

Ada Hu

Nice place for a hike. Lots of trails. Unfortunately the smog clouded the views on the lookouts on the drive up but i imagine it would be beautiful if it was clear

Carson sanders

Great evening we went twice was a little icy the 2nd night bit what a gift to have this in our back yard

Robert Greer

Update (Janurary 8, 2022): Staffes were late opening the equipment rental. Most seems to have many technical errors which delayed receiving rental equipments and causing a long line. In additon, the lifts were delayed in opening for past 30 minutes because 1 of the lifts where "malfunction". Even though all other lifts were fine, the attendants didn't let people go to the working one and made everyone wait to realize the broken one is still broken. Furthermore, guest services at Cypress Mountain is terrible. I called them on Janurary 5 and 6, all day, within an hour each, and nobody picked up. I couldn't get a hold of any help from a Cypress Mountain employee. Will not recommend Cypress Mountain to any friends, family, or colleagues. Changing my review to 1 star as they have gotten worst since last year. Will not return to Cypress Mountain again. Original post: With COVID-19, skiing/snowboarding at Cypress Mountain is not ideal. There are some precautions that they have taken to make sure people are following the rules. They make sure your masks are above your nose at all times and they force you to wear a "real" mask when entering their cafeteria. Also in the cafeteria, they have plastic boards between tables and good amount of space between each table. Another good precaution that they have taken was making sure that each chair has only people within the same party. However, the main problem was the number of people on the mountain. The lines up took at least 15 to 20 minutes to get on the lift. Because of the precautions, they're taking, most chairs only have 2 to 3 people. In addition, social distancing seemed like it was ignored in the lines for the lifts. The workers didn't bother to keep people 6 feet apart, they only ask people to put their masks on properly. Some people behind in the line up were close enough to breathe down my neck. Might not be Cypress Mountain's fault but social distsncing clearly something they don't care when lining up for ski lifts. Overall, the workers of Cypress Mountain are trying their best to follow COVID-19 rules but they can't be perfect and things can get slip through.

Jamal J

One of the best local mountains, tons of runs and beautiful views! Can get really busy though.

Hezron Lum

I come here like every year and the staff is amazing the food is good (a bit over priced but worth it) the hills are really good for all riders. Organized staff too. Also a very good view and really awesome tarrain parks. really good for experts but also pretty good for beginners and intermediates. I JUST HAVE TOO MUCH FUN

DT604

Their new online booking and reloading rfid system is horrible. Not user friendly at all. It's like using an outdated system from win-95.

Cassandra Sura

This review is only for today's ski condition. I came early afternoon, found a parking spot not too far from the lift. The lines to ride lifts weren't too long, but there isn't a time I ride the lift it didn't stop at least once. The surface is very icy. I can hear the scraping sound every time I make a turn. The price is good, $70 allows me to ski from 2pm until 10, but the icy condition turns me off, so I didn't stay long, not worth it. The view is always beautiful though

DotaKid Tan

Breathtaking views! Loved hiking this mountain. Probably my favourite one I have hiked in Vancouver. Better than Grouse in my opinion. I think Grouse is overrated. Cypress Mountain isn't that hard to hike either, so you can enjoy your way up.

Leo L

Amazing views of Vancouver! Good ski slopes about 25 mins drive from Vancity

raymond huang

Great place for snowboard lessons and the best local mountain!

Sayali Sheode

Lines are long and lifts are often shut down. Parking is a pain as well.

Ryan butt

Snow was mediocre and was cloudy, not the mountains fault, runs were well groomed. The online ticket machines did not work and apparently never work. Had fun skiing!

Teresa, Ying Collins

It's a very good place to ski/snowboard. If you are an intermediate in either of those sports, you are going to enjoy it the most. It still provides good runs for beginner and advanced, and there are so many amazing views!

Michel Pothier

Booked and paid for family lift tickets, drove 2 hours to the resort only to find out that we had to book ski rentals in advance as well (everyone had their own gear, but a child could not fit into their boots, so we needed to get 1 rental to ski last minute). The rentals has to be done online prior to coming up (how are people suppose to know this?!?) Everyone had to turn around and leave because 1 person in the family could not ski. Ruined holiday for everyone! Thanks Cypress team, you win the award for the worst management of the year!

Jeff Szeto

Facility is great. Just too many people gathered compared to last year...

Nick Rodd

Where adventure meets fun. Great place to enjoy the snow and try your hand at some skiing. We were amateurs and still were able to enjoy the easy to mid slopes with some good space around. The rentals were easy and clean and the staff was very helpful. Good parking area too.

GA Better

Mostly rains when i am there but closer to vancouver than the good mountains. Just tried to book extended family 10 tickets on their website. Took me 45 minutes before website timed out. Had to phone around finding everyones emails , birth dates , they even demand everyones phone #'s. Tried using my email for all but no good, "email address already used" Grouse is a better ski mt. anyhow, I guess we will be there.

yasen zhang

Skied at this mountain the very first day it opened on my birthday in 1975 still on it 45 years later. The lifts and facilities have come a long way the hill is just the same old gem.

beau sametz

It’s a place where you love to go during winter time

J C

Wonderfully maintained trails for hiking, snowshoeing and exploring the beautihul North Shore mountains.

Jon Lopes

Amazing experience. Staff was friendly too!
