This Park is classified in the category of Park.
Amazing beach with nice waves. Lots of space and sufficient parking, toilets, changing rooms. ‘Daily vehicle parking permit’ is recommended to purchase online and required to carry and display proof of purchase when arriving at the park.
Been coming back here a lot because the water is great and its not too deep. It was conducive for amateur sup users like me and pros alike. Downside is that the washrooms and changing areas are bad ????
Love thjs beach. Two areas to swim Lake Ontario which has sand shoals and Pleasant Bay that has a drop off with a dog area.
Nice and sandy beach. Come early if you want a good spot as the park gets super busy in the afternoon. Washrooms aren't good, terrible smell and rusty.
I enjoyed this Beach went this past weekend with my family, beach was clean, it wasn’t busy, felt like i was in the tropics! Only thing we went on a windy day so the tide was high and the wind was getting to us , other than that beautiful clean clear waters . Its Not deep for a few meters out. Really glad i went , this will become our go to beach. I was told there was a calmer side called “The Bay” but my husband and i stayed at the lake side because it was empty, and we had a good stretch of the beach all to ourselves!! Felt calming and social distancing wasn’t a problem.
Very clean beach and beautiful. Can swim on the bay side with your dog or no animals on the lake side. Lots of sand and you can walk out fairly far before it gets deep.
Best beach of all 3 I visited!! Car parking close to the beach. Beautiful long beach to walk! Sand is white! Clear warm water. Who needs Florida when we have beautiful beaches here. I'll definitely go back here . Love it!!!
Its a really beautiful place to go, especially beach goers will love it, water is crystal clean. Kids can have fun so much. Downside is, the washroom /facility is dirty, uncleaned, not suitable for use. If you and your kids care about facility please think twice before you make a plan, otherwise its a nice beach, no doubt! Authority should be taking care of it, as people need to pay to get in.
Amazing beach with very strong waves, must see spot, only drawback is picnic area that has very less shade of trees, if u got gazebo it is the best of beach ever.. must visit and would highly recommend if u like strong waves.
A great alternative to sandbanks and a great spot for a quick swim. 14.00 vehicle entrance 2.00 walk in from the road, can't be beat. Obviously smaller than its big brother but the same experience, with both sides of the water accessible. Dog friendly, but patrolled much more thoroughly than Sandbanks.
Beach is good, but washrooms are terrible. Portable kinds with no running water. When you charge entry fee, please spend some of it on building proper washrooms. Staff was great, going around cleaning the beach, emptying trash cans. Crowded as everyone wants to be out after lockdowns.
Nice Beach. Great waves for Ontario. Wasn't too busy because of reservations required. The sand was very nice and soft. Careful with drinking, not allowed at the park and saw a group getting a ticket.
Very nice ???? and clean place looks great big area ???? most sand place ,clear water ???? kids like the beach ⛱.
Day pass required by reservation. Two sides of the beach. Lake side is calm and warmer.
This is our little slice of heaven. The water is warm and the scenery is amazing. I would say the best park and area in the golden horseshoe
Two nartow long beaches in one ... if you can get in. The photos are from the sandy calm dunes side,, but there is also a windy wavy rocky beach on the other side of the peninsula. A 2 minute walk gets you from one beach to the other. Sorry... forgot to take photos of the rocky side. Clear water with no weeds or rocks on the sandy side. 20 feet of shallow water then it drops off quicky. Not much shade... many were prepared with shade tents. The concession sells everything from giganric cheesy poutine to deep fried pickles and chicken tenders... icecream too. Lines in can be insane on weekends... plan to wait a while and watch twitter to see when the park has rrached capacity.
Love this beach, the water is always clear and it directly faces the sunset. it wasn't overcrowded because you have to pre register your vehicle pass which was free.
Great place overall! Though the beach was extremely crowded, we loved our experience here. The beautiful skyline, crystal clear blue water and the amazingly mesmerizing sunset were the highlights of our trip. The drawbacks were firstly, the lineup to the entry gate which was nearly 45mins for us - it seemed totally unnecessary and inefficient a process, with no special protocols etc in place given the pandemic. Secondly, the restrooms were absolutely dirty beyond words. It was disgusting to even stand near the washrooms 'cos the stench was unbearable and all receptacles overflowing with junk. But if you overlook these, the beach experience was awesome. It's a sandy beach and a great place to just watch sunset
I love it because i can bring my dogs to swim! We had a blast! Definitelh coming back.
Until last summer, the summer we all stayed home, this beach was ideal for the locals. But last summer it was completely ruined by those out of towners who were suppose to be staying home in their hot spots and did not. The lake Ontario side is great for jumping waves, but the Bay side is ideal for floating forever. Just mind the steep drop off!
Beautiful beach. I visited on Canada Day's long weekend and because this year you can only enter with a reservation, the park wasn't crowded and finding parking was super easy. There's a small shack where you can buy burgers, hot dogs, poutine, etc. A great park for a beach day, almost perfect except for the washrooms, which are disgusting.
The beach was very nice and clean. The water depth gradually gets deeper which was excellent for my young children. Parking was a bit lacking even with paying for a vehicle permit in advance.
Lovely beach to walk ... pretty windy today with waves, it's not open yet, very peaceful and quiet!
Great beach! Love that there are two sides to this beach. One faces Lake Ontario and the other a bay. The water is very calm on the bay side which was great for us. And we also had some fun jumping into waves on the lake side.
Would not consider this a dog friendly spot. Dog was swimming, minding our own business, leash was not in my hand as we were in water (together) and I was told to put her on leash at all times. I understand on the beach, but... while swimming???
Beautiful beach. White Sands. Sand dunes. Lots of space and lots of parking. 6 sections to set up your spot on the beach. Would recommend getting a day pass in advance from Ontario Parks to ensure entry. Propane BBQs are allowed.
The beach itself is really nice. When we went, there were no waits at all. Compare that to the much bigger, much busier sandbanks where you can wait 30-60 mins just to get in, if you can get in at all. The food was surprisingly pretty good too. The bathrooms and change rooms were absolutely disgusting and need to be cleaned much more often. They stink. There was human excrement on the toilet seat one of the times I went. Its a beautiful beach though!
The beach is nice. But....... The website food/restaurant icon was not greyed out (June/16/2021) yet the snack was closed... We had to leave early to get food. The washrooms are completely discussing.. It's a shame, not only for us locals to have to be subjected to such filth. But when considering the competition for the tourism dollar, and the money spent to attract it, Provincial Parks need to get with it.
Blue waters and white sand what more do you want in a beach! North Beach has awesome sunsets and on a hot day you would be tempted to dunk yourself in!! There are 2 parking areas and lots of out houses . On the other side of the parking areas is the lake which you can also swim in. North beach is approx. 20 mins off the 401 in a southerly direction. Great beach !!
Beach is nice, fairly large but doesn't have smooth, soft sand as nice as Sandbanks but the beach makes up for this by being significantly less busy (minus COVID times where all beaches are all busy).
This is definitely a mini sandbanks but with out the crowds. The waves on the day we went reminded us of the ocean. Beach is not guarded so swim at own risk. The only downside is very dirty washrooms and change rooms. Bring your cooler, your chairs and enjoy. Scenery is great and beaches are great. The lake beach is good for good swimmers and the bay beach is great for young kids (warmer water and shallower)
Beautiful park! We went here on a long weekend and the line up was about an hour. Thankfully we made in the park and there was enough parking. People were social distancing and there was enough space in the beach. The water has some rocks when you first go in but then it gets Sandy. Nice park overall.
Nice place to having fun with family and friends. However, the washrooms are not clean. Also, there is no place to buy some food and drinks. The nearest market is 8-9 minutes far away from the park by car.
Great Sandy beach. Beach is very busy on weekends and best to book ahead on the Ontario parks website. Parking can be a pain, but once situated, a place on the beach isn't hard to find. North Beach is just as nice as Sandbanks in my opinion
Beautiful and peaceful place! Spent a day with friend while visiting Belleville. Compared to Sandbanks this beach is smaller, but less crowded and peaceful. Some places it's rocky when going in the water, some is sandy. Try to go early to get a better spot.
Beautiful beach, not that busy compare to Sandbanks. A little bit rocky on the shore. The water is clear and not deep so it’s good for the kids. Me and my family enjoyed the beach. I recommend to come early to find a perfect spot. We paid for parking/entrance. Will definitely come back!! IG: adventurebott
Nice place especially if Sandbanks is full. Try your best to avoid using the washroom here.
Totally worth the road! Sandbanks was full for the day so we decided to reserve our place to this beach. We loved it. Calm and very clean beach. We loved our day and enjoyed the water. Little gem :)
This beach is SWARMED with bugs. Midges to be exact?? They would not leave me alone and although they do not bite, it is so annoying. There are a lot of rocks and, the water is surrounded with dead bugs. I went last year and the waves were nice, but this year there were no waves at all. I am not going back to this beach again. 0/10 would not recommend.
Lovely beach, not too crowded due to online reservation system. As many others have mentioned the only con to this park is the outhouse style bathrooms. If you can look past that it's a fantastic beach! Be sure to book online first and get there early if you can!
The entrance fee is cheaper than sandbank. It is not crowded as well. There are two areas for you to choose: beach allowing pets and dog-free beach. Both are great! It is nice place to enjoy sunset.
One of most beautiful beach in Ontario with its soft sands and dunes. Looks so lovely. It was very well maintained, clean and not too crowded due to Pandemic restrictions. Book ahead.
It’s always amazing to visit this place and enjoy the sunset! We love picnicking here and swim a little before enjoying the sun sleeps.
White Sand and Clear water. Nice long beach to enjoy with family. Beautiful sunset view.
Beautiful Beach! And there's another lake on the other side too where kids can play no waves and it is shallow. I just wish there are better washrooms.
Awesome sandy beach... As it is controlled by parks Canada, u need to pay entry fee ($18 for whole day) 8am-9pm. Wavy water, bit dangerous for young kids...as underwater stream ... No guards on spot, so you should care urself and family...Bit cautious .. u can N'Joy well. Beautiful sunset view
Awesome ????. Clean beach ⛱,less crowded ,Adequate privacy and Parking very near to the beach. Highly recommended ????
Beautiful beach. Smaller then the super popular Sandbanks, but just as great for a beach day. There is a nice sandy shoreline, with beautiful clear blue waters. There are multiple parking lots close to the beach. You can swim in lake Ontario, or if you have younger children/want calmer water, there is a small lake on the other side of the sand dunes with warmer shallow water.
North Beach is a gem. For just a beach day, it’s the perfect 401 east alternate to the better known parks like Presqu'ile and Sandbanks. The parking is shaped like a U and there are two waterfront options, one side is more stagnant and better for small kids and paddling. The other side feels more like a beach with good waves. Definitely order your vehicle permit before arriving to secure entry.
A day use only beachpark. Not many amenities or trails-strictly beach. Some shells and green weeds wash up, some large stone areas and decent garbage clean up,, can picnic but no bbq. All sandy beach, a few trees along road for shade.
Beautiful clear water. Need to book online to get into the park, fills up quickly. Lots of space and well keep grounds.
This beach is a must visit! A nice place to relax and soak up the sun. The sunsets are a beautiful sight to see.
Great Beach, not very busy. Shallow blue waters
It is unbelievable that a provincial park so close to major urban centers does not have proper decent washrooms for tourists. I have been to provincial parks up north and the washrooms are decent and properly equipped for tourists and their families. Besides this issue, the place is nice to visit.
LOVE IT. Had to reserve online prior. There's alot of parking. Beautiful and clean beach, lots of tiny seashells, so beautiful. Water was abit on the cold side, but beautiful and clear. Got there around 11am, barely anyone, by 2pm, beach was packed! Loved it, 5star beach hands down.
Experience would have been more pleasant, enjoyable and comfortable if it weren't for filthy washrooms/change rooms. In these times one would expect that these facilities would be kept clean round the clock
Water was clean. There weren't too many people. The water was on and off cold and hot. It was a nice place. The parking isn't the greatest it's small and have to drive a bit to find a spot.
Was and amazing experience water was nice beach was clean. Food at the store was really good and back bay was nice water was relay warm. Good spot for fishing.
Wonderful soft white sandy beach.. clean clear waters.. perfect for a getaway.
Love the beach but Provincial Parks Canada neess to revamp their new booking rules. You can't go after 4 anymore when the beach is quiet because it shows "booked" however, most of the people have left. Missing out on alot of business and really upsetting people that enjoy going for a walk or just a quick dip after work.
