REVIEWS OF Sea Lion Trail IN Thunder Bay

Evething is good exept the trail. Nice view, nice rock the nature is amazing but after the sign of "sea lion 500 meter" the is no sign. Even no small trail track signs! There you can easily get lost. Make sure you are always on the right way.

Lovely spot to hang out with friends and family. Hiking this trail is easy to medium. Depends on season you are hiking. Have public toilets in the parking lot. Please make sure you get a parking ticket as the park officers are very active. Enjoy

Katie “KJ” Jackson

A short hike to a really cool view. A bit of climbing on large rocks and lots of roots to get to the view.

We felt quite adventurous having completed this "easy" trail. The first half mile is all down hill, therefore the final half mile is all up hill! Uggh! The middle part, which is 1km there and back, had a few places to climb rocks, duck around trees and under branches. I needed a hand up a few times. I'm glad we did it despite the drizzle and cool fall day. Kept repeating, "This is soooooo easy!"

Gorgeous little gem on the North Shore, my dog and I thoroughly enjoyed hiking along the trail in Mid-October a few years ago. There were only a couple other people on the trail/in the area and it made for a very nice and secluded hike. Definitely recommend going early in the morning to get an amazing few of the sunrise on the surrounding area. The warm light in combination with the fall colors made for a spectacular view. Highly recommend checking the area out!

Keep in mind it's a pretty good hike and will take about an hour -1.5 hours. You will scale rocks and the trail is poorly marked so make sure you use the bathroom, bring plenty of water and wear good shoes.

Beautiful trail and sea lion lookout

Sea Lion Trail along Perry Bay of Superior Lake is perhaps the most stunning trail in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. It's not a round trip and you have to hike back the same trail. It only takes about one hour to hike it. However, the scenic views you will get are second to none. The numerous bays, beaches and the stunning rock formation are absolutely outstanding.

The view was breath taking along with the cold breeze and turquoise water..

Well worth the hike. Bring some snacks and enjoy the view.

Shares the same parking lot and ~750 meters of the same trailhead as Sleeping Giant and many other routes in the SW region of the park. The trail itself is about ~400 meters long (one direction) and passes by a nice stony beach area. Park staff should expand the guard railing as too many fools think they deserve the right to climb out onto the rock formation.

Probably this is the best trail in the Sleeping Giant park - it's fairly short, and you can make it in an hour, but better make your stops and enjoy the surroundings, take a rest at the crystal clear water beach and check diversions to multiple lookouts. Of course, the reward is in the end of the trail as you can watch the natural wonder of the the Sea Lion formation. A hint - there is a different small path from the beach, more challenging, but closer to the water and very picturesque.

Easy little spot to get to and well worth it. Small rocky beach is the best when the sun has been on it and the smooth stones can warm your aching body to health.

Very nice place to visit very beautiful views of the back of the giant and the seal lion of course!!

Matthew Brown

A pretty cool sight to see for such a short and relatively easy trail.

A highly recommended hike although it’s a jaunt to the trail from the main highway. There are two trails. A more challenging one and a nice flat one. The people who say this is medium in reviews probably took the more challenging one. I did a mix of both. Gets the heart rate up but not too bad. What a magnificent view. Have to pay for parking as it’s in a provincial park but worth it. Also tons of other trails to check out

Johnny Zhang

It's one of the shortest trail to have a very nice view of the lake.

Sam deZ

Nice trail but no clear markings. We took 20 minutes but our neighbor with two young children said they took 2 hours. Around 1 km one way. Moderately hard but nice views.
