This Park is classified in the category of Park.
This is a great place to do some relaxation while the young ones unwind. It is accessible and the huge trees make room for plenty of birds. Plus they offer plenty of shade and areas to cool off on a hot day. This is a gem every neighborhood should have.
Seats were pretty good but God help you if a tall person sits in front of you.
Awesome festival of arts. See a couple plays. Have some drinks. Enjoy the little lake and swans
An oasis of calmed natural beauty, relaxing and refreshing all in one.
Excellent park. Lots of picnic tables.
A MUST walk! And some of the banks have been rebuilt beautifully- a nice bit of engineering against erosion. It will be great when the 'full circle walk' is rebuilt.
Amazing park. Beautiful fall colors, also has a very nice play ground. Toilets were very clean.
Perfect place for family picnic..
Nice park with swans.
Beautiful place to walk, have a picnic, take pictures, read a book, etc. Love this park!
Beautiful, well maintained, clean. Perfect for a stroll, reading, or set up your work on a picnic table and settle in to ypur work surrounded by the sounds of various water fowl and gorgeous vegetation.
Do beautiful and willing to go back.
This green space is right beside the Festival Theatre. There is a winding pathway across the road that runs along side the river. There are ducks nesting in the area and of course the Stratford Swans , coast through once or twice. It is a tranquil breath of fresh air. Art in the Park is an annual event where local artists get together to sell their work.
It's always nice. I'm a photographer so there's always lots of good photo opportunities with the butterfly garden and the gallery and festival theatre close by .
Very nice. Good place to relax and enjoy the fall colors
What a place. So open and nice and clean.
Very pleasant and natural landscape. Perfect for get rid of the tiredness of daily city life and also have local cuisine and Beautiful architecture buildings.
Peaceful. Beautiful. Lots of birds. Great place for a picnic before the theatre , but they could use a few more picnic tables ????
Quiet place to stop in Stratford. Beautiful scenery. Hiking trails. Lots of birds. Free parking. Exceptionally quiet during the winter. Great place for kids.
This park is beautiful and the swans are nice to admire.
Not always friendly staff.. decent food.. but the attitude overall feeling I get ..is..blah...3.5 out of five
A really nice and peaceful walk along the water with lots of benches (some engraved in honour of Stratford citizens) and lots of fowl. Honestly, the geese cheered me up significantly -- standing on the ice as if in commemoration/salute, or crowding the sidewalks and then hurriedly scurrying to the water once you come near them.
Good place. Highly recommended. Ample parking and large enough for a decent walk. Water ponding is excellent. You may do Kayak or Canoe. North side, you can park for free. Close to all other amenities.
So beautiful. A great spot to disconnect from it all, relax and recharge.
My grandfather used to bring me here when I was a little girl for ice cream and the playground. Now, the playground equipment has a lovely bouncy rubber play surface, and was easy for both my toddler and kindergartner to play with. The old slide and swing sets are still here, and my kids loved them!
Beautiful park to walk along near the Stratford Festival!
Very pretty and calming. The only thing is I wish they would find a way to reinforce the posted rule of not feeding the birds because of it being bad for their diet and the delayed migration. There was a group of people still doing it. :( Also I don't recommend buying the ice cream from the boat house, cheap but not very good. Go to one of the nearby local shops instead then take a walk over to the park. :)
It's a lovely park. Not much else to say!
Very beautiful park with a ton to see and do.
Lovely. So much beauty in the water and trees and wildlife and it is the absolute perfect space to take a walk, either by yourself or with company. Stunning.
This park is hands down my 4 year old daughter's favourite park in town. Big, sprawling equipment and plenty of space to run around. It also helps that there is an ice cream shop right by the playground... ????
Lights on Stratford running until end of January 2022
Arrive at Stratford a little earlier to take a stroll along this park. We were there on a Wednesday and there was a small craft sale just across the street. Watch the swans or just sit and let life flow by. Turn off the phone - you'll enjoy it a lot more. ☺️
Love this park. Definitely something worth visiting. We were scared away because we were surrounded with wasps! Was trying to have a cute picnic with my kids by the park while we waited for our cat to be spayed. My one child still had a McDonalds cup of apple juice. We abandoned our apple juice as we were packing up our picnic because the wasps broke through the lid and were INSIDE- I counted 7 inside or on it and more were swarming!!! I couldn't even get close to throw it out. Kids were so sad but... Hey... Other than that it's beautiful! Just... Don't bring food. ????
Nice quiet gardens with a river running through.
There is a public washroom here right across from the Festival theatre. Great for picnicer who cant manage stairs well. Playground is usually deserted. Parking van bean issue.
What are you doing if you're visiting Stratford and not visiting this park? Its a must see with the river nearby, and the theatre! There are museums and galleries in the near vicinity too.
Always well maintained, large trees for nice shade and park atmosphere, public washrooms are clean and maintained, and the playground is nice. You might find it difficult to find parking around theatre time, because theatergoers typically park around the park, but there are usually a few spaces at the bottom of the hill or in the surrounding neighbourhoods that aren't too far a walk if you're looking to drive.
Love walking through the park and spending time near the amphitheater and walking in the open areas. The washrooms are clean and well managed and people are respectful to one another. Very family friendly park and a nice place to relax.
Great picnic spot... Tables with umbrellas available or just throw down a picnic blanket.... Lovely view of the water.... You have the option of renting a canoe... If you feel adventurous... Enjoyable outdoor experience...
Awesome park with a lake inside it. We can see swans and duck in the lake. Plenty of space to relax. Washroom facilities available. There is a football ground inside the park.
Gorgeous gardens and theme based plant gardens. So much fun to guess which flower bed represented which play!
Absolutely gorgeous place. Great spot to sit and declutter the brain.
If you come to Stratford than you must visit here. This place has an awesome riverside view. Moreover, you can see The Royal Swan. Also, there is a park near to river. So, you can play there with you children's. All in all, you can spend you day here with your family. Thank you have fun.
Gorgeous place to play with kids, have a picnic or you can even rent the pavilion for a family event. I will stop and eat at the many picnic tables in the summer as it is such a peaceful and beautiful place to relax. Plenty of garbage cans make it easy to have a quick lunch. Summertime also will have food vendors open.
Great paths for walking green space for picnic'ing and playing. Lots of free parking. Gets busy, but it's a big area.
Nice walk. Geese and swans are trusting.
This is a great day trip place to come for some food, scenery and culture. Come for lunch, dinner or ice cream. Take a stroll through the city and window shop or step inside one of the many delightful stores and buy something fun or fancy. Take a walk to the water and watch the ducks and swans swim by. Ssmee a play at one of the many theaters in Stradford. Lots to see and do in that leisurely I don't have a care in the world sort if way.
Beautiful place to visit , never had a problem parking, boat rides available and fishing not bad as long as you don't mind catfish
Love going to Stratford Theatre! The park is beautiful and the Shakespeare festival is always a blast!
Absolutely beautiful place for walking and kids playing. Will be going again and again!
Great place for a walk along the river. Lots of ducks, geese and swans. Very busy at times but a must visit.
I like this garden. There's different flowers in different season.
Such a beautiful place for a walk along the river. Love looking at the ducks, geese, and swans. Perfect spot for a picnic.
Summer moon ???? festival in Stratford! Something to do in the summer days!
Great playground for the kids! Fun equipment, lots of space. Climbers, swings and slides.
Went for a nice walk with the family to see the ducks\swans... Surprisingly clean considering how disgusting most people are, kids had fun overall positive experience
As with all of Stratfords parks it is stunning.
I spend most mornings here feeding the Swans, Geese & Ducks. Such a friendly place to sit and relax or go for a run around the river. The Swans are such an amazing site to see swimming along the river side. They love to be fed wild bird mixture too!
Beautiful spot for picnics with family & friends. Lots of majestic swans, friendly Canada geese and cute ducks wandering the park & floating on the river. Lots of space available here, most days
Grandkids love the playground Great spot for a picnic too
It's very nice there's a fountain and a playground, most importantly bathrooms! They closed the water fountain due to covid.
Great place for a walk, read a book, sit and take in the view. Close to downtown shops and and eateries.
The most beautiful park in Stratford. Along the river with bridges and islands and mature trees. Ducks, Geese, and White Swans live in the water. Boat tours are available in the summer months. Especially nice to visit in the fall to enjoy the colors.
Great place for a picnic or walkabout.
So many little paths and things to photograph. Nice nature walk.
Best park in the area for last minute picnics. Spacious, clean and very friendly patrons.
Pretty, no bustle and the people look you in the eyes and say hello.
Beautiful this time of year in the season of fall
Beautiful park / spot to spend time during your visit in Stratford. Visit Shakespeare gardens as well.
Beautiful park, quiet and peaceful, has a small island where they protect swans.
Nice to walk
Beautiful fall colors, town of stratford is quite picturesque and worth a visit.
Awesome place thaks for everyone who keeps maintenance it ???? ????????
Wonderful park surrounding the internationally renowned Stratford Festival Theater! Beautiful old growth trees dot the landscape and the Avon River runs just below the Theater providing excellent opportunities for large water fowl (I.E. Swans)pictures! Nice little playground next to the theater also but be wary of the metal slide in the sun!!
Nice place to visit and maybe have lunch.
The planets on the island were beautiful
A nice place to visit, however . . . is there a way to clean up the water in the pond/lake ?? With the large amount of water foul that live in the park, what are the levels of dangerous bacteria living in the water and on the grass surrounding the pond/lake? Is this or could it be dangerous to the many small children and adults who frequent the park? I am wondering if a water pump, with a water sprinkler head would help to make the water safer for those who visit the park. What do you think? Please add your ideas to help clean up the water.
A pleasant stroll, glimpses of beautiful architecture on the far bank, swans gliding gracefully on the water with the occasional duck flitting by, and music wafting in on the wind from time to time.
We were actually on our way to the Stratford theater to catch a play and walked alongside the park. I didn't take any snaps but I'm sure other people have contributed. My own personal take is that it would be a wonderful place to take your significant other on a nice walk along the Avon River (yes, they renamed that too!) under the magnolia trees as you whisper sweet nothings. ???? A lot of park benches and it simply beckons one to spend an afternoon of laziness along the shores...
Our Stratford park is beautiful no matter the time of year. We have great theatre’s here also. Thou Covid has presented the whole world with many challenges, Stratford has managed to hold on. This is now my home and I love it. If I do need to leave Stratford, it will always remain in my heart. Come visit us sometime. Visit our local shops and take a show. You won’t be disappointed…if you are, you’ve missed something!!
A nice and quiet place to enjoy in the evening sun, or even on weekends. There’s a playground. And also visit the little island on the lake. The place has the most tolerant geese in Ontario perhaps ????
Nice short stroll along this quiet body of water with many other friendly strollers is bound to pick up your spirits. Only if the icecream shop was closer, mmmm
Wonderful spot for a late summer picnic, overlooking the lake. May be the last of the summer.
A very cute, quiet spot. Pretty little lake with swans. The ducks seem a tad aggressive but the swans were approachable enough. Parking is abundant and mostly free. Well maintained grounds and a very quiet crowd. Visited after 14 years and still adorably European feel. Worth a visit!
Beautifully maintained by our city, great place for a walk or a picnick
Beautiful area. You can tell the city cares about making it a nice place to spend your day. Free EV parking was also appreciated.
My favourite place to chill and romp with my beauty dog!!!
Very enjoyable on a warm sunny day walking along the water, passing by grand old trees and seeing birds and other nature near by. Saw a good lot of the royal swans. Pretty much everyone else who had the same idea - out for a walk - seemed cheerful and greeted me while passing by. It all made it seem like a nice place indeed.
Natural paradise, wooded, nearby river, there are always people and dogs having fun walking the path while enjoying the scenery. People who visit this area are respective to each other and their natural surroundings. The city maintains the paths impeccably. If you are seeking peace, solitude and nature, this is the place for you! I highly recommend this natural beauty!
Beautiful grounds. New modern playground. Lots of picnic tables. Really enjoyed our picnic here. Could be more garbage cans, we took ours home.
Great place to take kids, and they have places your family can BBQ and enjoy the beautiful scenery
Beautiful space in Stratford with so much to enjoy!
Gorgeous!
Wonderfully clean and orderly city park with plenty of a activities to suit multiple tastes. Easily walkable or just a great place to hang out and rest. Paddleboats, kayaks, and other light watercraft are available to rent. Pontoon boat tour is a nice option for a brief rest on the water.
Great place to just relax and enjoy beautiful Stratford.
Very pretty for a pre theatre stroll
Quiet, peaceful walks around park and river
Beautiful sunny day, very clean park,an abundance of benches and seating for picnics, lots of fowl wildlife to see
Lots of space to remain distanced, while enjoying a picnic. Playground should be open again..in Phase 3 of pandemic reopening. Some picnic tables and lots of shade from large mature trees.
Spacious park. Apt for fall colors and plenty of space for children to play. Free parking no entry fees. Two play areas for children.
Great place for families don't miss the water feature over by the the old train bridge. Come to the theatre and bring a picnic. Summer music in the Bandshell.
Beautiful park Concession stand is closed early this year because of theft
A nice neighborhood park with a Shakespearean gate on Water street adjacent to a river. Lots of playgrounds. Free to enter and Free parking spaces. The lawns are manicured and there are ample washroom facilities. This is where you park when attending a play at Festival theatre.
This is a beautiful park right in the heart of a very special city! The walk around the little Avon lake is lovely
A beautiful place to go for a relaxing long walk. The kids can get to see swans and ducks. Just hang out, relax and let that stress melt away!
Lovely park with very calm swans. I would like more signage for walkers as we were walking along the water to the festival theatre, but all the signs were for drivers.
Pretty park with parking all around
This past winter they were open through Christmas and while we wanted to go, I couldn't set aside time from work to go before my planned vacation out of the country.
Beautiful spot for a picnic or just to sit and read.
Located outside the entrance of the Festival Theater: A beautifully well maintained park & botanical garden. A design mix of perennials, grasses, trees, shrubs, turf and water gardens. The name cards identifying the plants are a nice touch. Statuary dot the landscape. The whole garden is really pleasant surprise. A return trip is in order even without taking in a play.
Nice place to go to with family (even friends). So many ducks, geese and swans also other little creatures. Watch out though as the swans will come right upto you and may bite. There is a path to walk around the whole pond, unable to drive all around as currently a building is under construction.
Beautiful flowers in the garden with a walking trail and benches. A playground for children. There is an outdoor pool nearby. On the other side of the water is a bigger playground with a seasonal food shack and a large patio with seating.
Beautiful and gorgeous place. Love this place. The only issue is finding parking slots specially in weekends. Very recommended for photography. Amazing landscape with different flowers.
Beautiful park right on the river. There's lots of place to walk, run, and sit around. There's also several playgrounds around so there's lots to do for kids as well. The Stratford Festival Theatre is here as well only adding to the picturesque scenery around here.
Nice place for a picnic. Not crowded this year, so very peaceful and quiet. Washrooms are open, but no concessions.
Very beautiful. Lots of Canada Geese, ducks and a few swans. Would love to retire here.
Nice shaded river front park and walk way.
Lovely place. Love seeing all the swans.
Beautiful park. Great place to walk with a coffee.
Awesome park for a good walk in the summer
A great place to take wedding pictures. Beautiful walk bridge leading to the island captures an element of elegance to view the swans swim. Need inspiration to read or write? Sit under a tree and breathe in the fresh air. Walk the path for an enjoyable conversation with friends. Lots of free parking. Rollerblade or ride a bike or take the kids for a picnic.
Cl an areas all th time as well as a Bandshell right beside the theater. Every now and again a busier will perform there
Fun park for the kids, but always super busy. Wish it was bigger to make spreading out easier.
Lovely, serene and family friendly park along the water. It is also donned by nice cultural centre's with shows.
EV parking, a park my 3 year old daughter loves, a quick walk to the river. Beautiful and green. Parking can be a little tough if a show is on at the festival, but it is honestly my favourite part of Stratford since moving here.
Good lake with approximately 3 km of perimeter run. They have boating. Surrounded by lush green gardens and theater with lots of things to do. Do not dare to kill the swans they belong to the queen. You can jog or walk around the lake. I believe that it has playground as well because of the fact that my friend goes at this place to play cricket.
Great place for a nice walk or stoll
Beautiful. Must do while in Stratford. The swans are awesome.
Delightful venue for the World's most prolific playwright. Gardens manicured along with a statue of the Bard.
This is a great place for all people. The park is great for the kids. It's so nice to have washrooms we can use , and Dukes is there for food and drinks and the service is amazing and the food is so good. ????. Highly recommend
Wide open space. A bandshell, updated playground with some classic slides and swings, recycled rubber surrounding the equipment, sand below the swings and slides, a concession stand, and washroom. Not to mention the view of the river and festival theater
Something magical about this place.. the birds, the trees, children playing and laughing, couples walking.. this list is endless..
Beautiful nature, lovely garden with a great variety of flowers and plants.
Very clean, nice scenery, playground for young children. Enjoyable for to walk, bike or jog
You will never know what you'll come across with
Great space for spending time with the family. Plenty of picnic tables, bandshell for the performers and playground equipment for all ages.
The city keeps it so nice and clean up there with lots to do for the kids.
Toilets are closed now and no change table in the men's room.
Beautiful area. Went here with my girlfriend and there was lots of great areas to explore. We saw a swan!
We love coming into this park. You can walk around it and have a full view of the water. There are lots of parking. There are benches for you to sit on and have a rest and enjoy the scenery.
Amazing park and green space
This park is awsome not close to a busy road wick is nice. There are public bathrooms in the summer along with an ice cream shop right next to the park. They have a bunch of swings and slides. Lots of fun equipment or kids. There is also many benches and picnic tables, making it perfect for a picnic or to spend a few hours before a show.
Awesome place to hang out with the family for a nice picnic! And walk around the river.
This is a great place to go with kids and family. Has multiple playgrounds and a swing set with infant swings. It is right along the river, we were able to see the swans.
Beautiful, but watch where you're walking. The ducks and geese and swans are very friendly and leave lota of presents all over the walking path.
A lovely park and gardens in Stratford
The kids love it, especially the swings. They go higher than some because the chains are longer. It's a short walk to the river, so it's easy to pop down and see the birds. An excellent afternoon adventure.
Gorgeous property along the Avon River.
Beautiful, swans, geese, ducks and a nice walking trail around the waterfront
Awesome, nice to see the swans
A great place to walk around in on a sunny day. Clean and lots of parking spread out all over. Grab a hotdog from Erie’s Famous Footlongs on the way back!
Peaceful and pleasant area to walk around.
Nice place to walk along the river and see all the birds...
Simply beautiful. Perfect place for spending a day with family
Beautiful, clean park, swans, ducklings, peddleboats and boatrides can be booked. There are 2 icecream shops.... very cute and a small restaurant by boatticket sales shop. Very serene and relaxing place to go with family and friends. Park, and bbq area too. Cant ask for more
Beautiful theatre and a phenomenal show. Not a bad seat in the house. Beverages are a little pricy, $10 for a bottled water and a cranberry juice.
Always a nice place to find a bench and relax with a good book!
Nice, lots of people walking their dogs
Quiet and nice!
Gorgeous multi-level riverside park with a big playground, Rotary bandshell, cafe.
Absolutely loved meeting my special guy for lunch and an afternoon in the park ... very scenic and relaxing .. when not being surprised by an ornery swan! ... lol
Lunch at the Boathouse and a Timmy's in Upper Queens Park. Fun watching the kids play. Nice day!
Had a family reunion here. Was beautiful place to spend the day here. Their is a fish 'n chip, burgers and soft ice cream stand here. Small children playground with a rubber mat padding on the ground to minimize injuries for kids. Also if your lucky there is a stage here to enjoy listening to bands playing.
Beautiful place right on the water. On Saturdays there are artists out selling their work. You can just walk through and look as well. There are so many swans as well on the water. It is just a beautiful place and Stratford has lots of shops to walk through as well
Beautiful park area to visit and relax. No amenities there. Just great feeling of peace.
Gorgeous park, I love the swans, and definitely recommend this park for a nice scenic walk and lots of lovely wildlife. Plenty of places to sit near the water and enjoy the company of the swans.
Nice but the Ducks have Left the banks pretty dirty!
A beautiful place to go for a walk in autumn and see the colours. Lots of beautiful sights with all types of different birds flying and swimming around. There was lots of parking on close to the trail and water. There were lots of people taking a walk at the same time that cause congestion at times. #localguides
I took a senior friend on an outing for her birthday. Unfortunately we stayed in the car as she would be unable to walk in the area. If there had been an easier washroom (the arena is not) to access and even some kind of wheel chair available I think it would have been much more enjoyable being the weather was perfect . I would need not to be so spontaneous with her. She was still happy looking at all the colors on the trees while we enjoyed our McDonald's ice cream sunday
Swans adorned the lake while children play on the huge landscape... Beautiful site!
One gorgeous park. I have had many picnics here. Walked along the river. Enjoyed art shows in this park. Watched the swans. Enjoyed the green open spaces & sat under the beautiful trees here. A must see while in Stratford. I find it baffling that there is mention that this park is "home to the Parliament Building of Ontario." There are also pictures with captions that it is in this park. If you go looking for this beautiful building you won't find it here. It is located in Queens Park, at University Ave & College St Toronto about a 30 minute walk from where I live.
Kids had a blast. Great walk. Great parks. Great place to picnic. Lots of parking. Friendly people. We really enjoy going there
One of my favorite places to visit while in Stratford. Had the pleasure of hand feeding the swans with Helen's guidance last time I was here. It was quite something to see her with them on her weekly feeding trip! I learned so much including that the swans are housed in Stratford during the winter season.
Beautiful place for walking, BBQ, bike ride, boating. Play ground for kids, theatre. And beautiful garden
Absolutely love walking this park & along the river Avon with my dog - she loves it too! The colours of autumn, the spring, summer or winter days - it never gets boring.
What a fantastic beautiful setting for a picnic lunch & a lovely walk along the waters edge !!!
Beautiful, tranquil, people in good moods friendly. Very long walk..I wasn't up to it but will try again. When you go if it's nice bring a lunch plenty of places to sit outside and eat
Such a nice park to picnic in. Lots of space and not busy due to no theatre right now.
Such a neat park, loved it
Went to theater the park was quiet .
Nice, clean and lovely ambiance
Lovely park great for stroll along river or picnic on nice days.
Great place for leisurely walk, had coffee break there and enjoyed the scenery
Beautiful park with amazing fall colors at this time of the year
Pack a picnic... watch the swans, walk through Art in the Park... relax & enjoy! This park has a great playground for the kids, & makes a perfect day out in Stratford!
Wonderful place to take a walk and admire the water, plants, and birds. You can also rent boats or take a boat ride. There are picnic tables near the Festival Theater, and there's Art in the Park on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays located between the Tom Patterson and Festival Theaters.
Great spot for sledding, especially for little ones.
Always love to be a part of this place. It's so clean and well kept and the grounds are beautiful.
Nice park sandwiched between the Stratford Theater and Lake Victoria. Lots of benches, but also lots of Geese and their deposits.
