REVIEWS OF Turkey Point Provincial Park IN Simcoe

Grace Lam

Decent place for camping with quite a few sightseeing places to visit during our stay. The staffs at the camp store are very nice and helpful. Although the level of privacy is below average, I would love to visit again!

Tim Good

Nice, quiet, well cared for by the wardens & park staff. Big, well treed sites. Good privacy. Good biking & hiking trails. Nice beach for swimming.

Lucy Staats (Lucy)

The water is absolutely beautiful. If your looking to have a beach day, this is definitely a go-to destination. The sand is clean, and there is plenty of shade. I highly recommend!

Alicia Kaspary

Defenetly coming back in the summer for a stay. Loved the beach. If you arrive early, beautiful trees ???? will give you some shade on those hot summer days ☀️????️

Ryan Benech

Great combo of shaded camping with power hookup and close to dog friendly beach with protected swim area. Washrooms were clean and easy access to quaint shop and restaurants.

Bob Bublic

First time here, and I heard positive things about Turkey Point. And it didn’t disappoint. The beach is amazing, the water is awesome for the kids and the people are friendly. We ended up staying late into the evening and had a bbq dinner …

Rina R. Wehbe

Beautiful park, camp sites are nice and big with lots of trees. Easy to hang ridge lines and hammocks. It's prepared for RVs as well. The recycling center is very organized! The camp store has reasonable prices and you can rent power hookups for RVs. The beach is very rocky.

Rehan Theiveehathasan

It's ok but there are ticks in the main park so be careful to not being them home! If you are looking for a beach just go to Port Dover or the main Turkey Point beach at like 10am. After 1pm just expect it to be completely full. There's good yellow perch fish and chips all around Port Dover so try that while you're there.

Mary Zandri Brown

Park was nice, Sites were spacious! The beach was perfect, water was perfect! The view is Breathtaking!

Nancy Bryans

I can only comment on how it looks in winter. It was great to walk along the beach with my dogs and have an uncrowded, safe outing, during the pandemic.

Hayden D

Went on a Monday long weekend. Arriving early afternoon. Obviously, parking is tricky and the beach is narrow in many spots so it's a bit packed and hard to do beach stuff, but the water is great, the beach is pretty clean and the parking is free. I would definitely go back over other beach places in the area.

Lisa Toohey

Campsite was clean and well maintained, bathrooms were kept clean. The hiking was a lot of fun, however watch out for ticks, I pulled over 20 off my dog.

shahryar Khan

Beautiful place. One of the cleanest beaches. Highly recommended. Be there as early as possible to find a good spot. Parking fills up fast.

Baber Khan

This park has positive vibes, great place to connect with nature. Visit the park on week days and early in the morning to enjoy the nature. Lookout Bluff trail is great for hiking, beautiful scenery. The only issue when we visited the park was gypsy moth caterpillar infestation. Kids were freaking out. Otherwise, great park for camping and hiking.

Carolina Miranda

One of my favorite beaches in Southern Ontario. The sand is fluffy and light, the water often clear and the beach is long and full of vegetation. It reminds me of some Brazilian beaches to be honest. Great beach vibe. Just watch for the levels of bacteria in the water, as sometimes it can be higher then normal. Lots of parking. Bring an umbrella just in case the trees are no longer available.

Toronto 4 Life

Loved the beach. However washrooms are so bad you will vomit for days. They need a cleaner looking after them during the time period the beach is open. For the value of the parking tickets the decision makers can make this beach the best. Poor organization. Cleanliness was terrible.

Sweta Srivastava

I loved this area. The nature hiking trails are very scenic and the town is beautiful. Great camping spot for anyone trying to get out of the city but not having to go very far.

the great CHEESE

No privacy, washrooms where disgusting commissary sold overpriced wet wood for the fire pit. If you read this your better off camping in your backyard, or one of the hundreds of beautiful camping in Northern Ontario. ONE more thing that bluff lookout is a horrible view with no beach access.

Cali Wiersma

If you can go during the week instead of on a weekend: do it. This beach is awesome for kids and parking will be close. However, go on a weekend and may the Lord be with you, my friend, because this beach is packed and people be crazy.

We loved visiting Turkey Point Provincial Park and all the areas near by. We drove all over the coast near the water and took in all the sights. Even borrowed a few front lawns for pictures as not many were actually at their cottages. Beautiful areas and park. Amazing waterfront homes and reminded me of South Beach Colors

Cruzer 250e

Nice, clean, well run park. Roadways are a little narrow for larger rigs (35'+) to navigate. Lots of shady trees!

Paul Mendes

It’s a nice park, if not very big. The playground in the campground seems like it has been around since the 70s or 80s and has lots of the really fun all metal playground equipment from that era (eg really tall swings and monkey bars). Camping sites are not very private especially in the pull through trailer area. However the pull through sites are not very thoughtfully laid out with very narrow lanes and tight clearances. Depending on the size of your trailer you may not find the pull through sites to be any easier to navigate.

Natalie E

Turkey Point Provincial Park has some nice larger sites but also not overly private. The park store is quite small and the washrooms are ok. There are some nice hiking trails and bike trails which can be a bit challenging. There are 2 dump stations and water fills along with one water fill site when going into the camping sites. The beach can get very busy but there is also some parking further down the main road for beach access. The water is warm, shallow and clear which is great for kids. Beautiful Burning Kiln winery only a 5 minute drive away and lots of great restaurants close by.

Ashraful Hoque Bhuiyan

One of my fav beach. It's shallow shores and sand banks. I would highly recommend anyone who can't swim not to try reaching the sandbars. They are always shifting. I love jetski here. Türkey point provincial park has the perfect camping location only 2km walk away.

K Perez

This place is a family getaway Gem... soft sand, no rocks.. shallow sand bars with clear clean swimming for your kids. I highly recommend this for all families to visit with a kiddie park close by..fun for all.

Paul McBride

Conflicted about this place...great beach, but extremely close quarters and at times could be loud late at night with parties.

Ryan Osburn

Great park very spaced out. Nice sandy beach.

Right On

This is a nice and clean campground. The spots are not very private and closer together than average. But they are large plots though with space enough for 3 tents and eating areas. Not enough of the nice toilet and comfort stations, the compost toilets can get gross fairly quickly. Friendly staff and helpful. Wood is wet to buy. But it's biggest attraction is that it is close to an amazing beach with flowing sand and shallow water. Can be crowded but stretch out to find quieter spots. Parking is free for park pass holders which is nice. Great park.

Catherine Sousa

Overall great beach , nice waves , great for kids ( not too deep) . A few years ago the shoreline was almost all gone due to high water levels however this year it seems to have returned to normal. Also nice that there are bathrooms all along the beach line regardless of if you go to the pay portion of the beach or not.

Matt Ziesmann

Comfort stations are about dated, but nice park otherwise. Or campsite had two picnic tables which is great. I come here for the excellent mountain bike trails nearby.

Jason Cripps

Great spot and location for camping. Laid back camp ground, with regular provincial park amenities. Washrooms can get dirty though, and floors never seem to dry but if you can get past that, it's a great place to go. We always have a great time here. Gift shop has a unique pricing system. When my wife went to buy a hat it had 12.99, 15.99 and 19.99 listed as the sale price and they charged 19.99. When my wife asked about it, she was basically told to take it or leave it - not going to quibble over 7 dollars. This being said, buyer beware in the gift shop, ha.

megan waslowski

Beautiful beach in Norfolk County. Large and usually able to find a spot to lounge and park. There is limited free parking, but also the option to pay for parking on the main beach. The water is usually clean and moderate in temperature. Love this beach!

Wisersum58

Quite private and good amount of space, which can handle 3 big tents.

Mista Jay

Great beach, miles of sand and very few rocks. Beach is close to food and shops. It was cool and cloudy when we were there but it would be a great place to chill on a sunny Summer day.

Vinay Paramanand

We camped for one night at the Whipperpool campsite. It was a pleasant experience. The check in was smooth, the site was nice, and the staff are super helpful and knowledgeable. The comfort station at this campground is worth 10 stars. Amazingly clean, hot and cold showers and clean washrooms. We couldn't find potable water source anywhere. The directions inside the park are confusion at there are no signs at intersections and along the park near the day use area. The day use area is not big but is decent. However, people using them need to grow up and clean up after and not throw their food near the tables. Each day use site has a water tap so make sure you find one. The beach is not inside the park and there is no access to it either from the inside. You need drive south for 5 mins to reach it. Campers do not need permit for parking. There is no sunset but there is an equally beautiful sunrise. It's amazing to watch the sun come out. The campsite and park are definitely a must visit.

Sahana Paramanand

Nice quiet campground for family...clean washrooms. No access to the beach from the park. We enjoyed the beautiful blissfull sunrise on the lake. I would have rated 5 if access to beach in the morning was much quicker. Get to the beach early in the morning as it gets busier especially on the hot days. Had great time overall

Elena Rotestan

Pretty beach, lots of beach area, parking get a bit hectic and 15 to 20 if nothing is available on the street. The water temperature wasn't bad, but it rained the night before our visit so the water wasn't as clear as I've seen other pictures.

Jigar Chandra

Couldn't explore the hiking trails, we exited the park after noticing bug infestation and switched to spending the day at Turkey Point Beach. Comfort stations were well maintained. Camping spots looked good; saw a lot of campers in tents and RVs.

Felipe Gonçalves

Amazing beach! The shallow water isn't too cold, although it is in a larger lake indeed. You can easily find public washrooms and the parking lot is super convenient. Speaking of convenience, did I mention there are couple restaurants across the street??? Must say, they ain't good as the beach, but it is handy. Arrive early to enjoy the sun and the sand.

Ana M

Great place to spend time with you family ???? free and pay parking. ???? washroom facilities need to be improved. You can bring your dog ???? food. The water is clean, a lot of bees ???? and flies

Sebastian Kluth

Turkey Point Provincial Park is only interesting if you want to go to the beach. The hiking trails aren't exactly spectacular. They are rather short, offer no stunning views and are not always properly identified. On the positive side, staff was helpful and friendly and the shop at the entrance was well-equipped.

Thomas Fischer

Great time of year to enjoy the waterfront. Early Sunday morning was a great time to enjoy a coffee by the beach. We have a provincial park annual pass so we parked right at the beach. It awesome!

Andrew Morden

I do really enjoy the park for that fact it's within a nice little forest around the campsites. As a tenter I try and stay away from areas with RVs for the sole fact that the sites are quite close to one another, and if you throw in a tent your in the middle of everyone. Sticking to the mostly tent area, where ever that is in the parks can give a more private experience. Big park, some trails. Comfort stations are small to be honest ....there are vault toilets about but, well, it's a provincial park. The beach isint too far a drive, the parking is easy, and the beach vibe is cool and quaint. Safe swimming by the shore. Simcoe for supplies is 20 mins away. Two wineries and a brewery also quite close....like ten mins....campsite to can. Gorgeous area, and you can day drive to long point for lunch easy enough. Ice avail. Wood $9 Friendly check in. This is site 122

Arty Nelyubov

Great., clean park with lots of amenities for kids. Beach is 5 min drive that's only downfall

Himani Bhasin

One of the cleanest beach I ever visited. It can be crowded in the summer time but I love this beach more than any other near Toronto. There is so much to do near the provincial park like brewery, winery, trails, and eco adventures for camping experience stay.

Nicole Maria

Loved it! Great for family's with children. No crazy walking distance to the beach . Sand on Beach is clean, water is clean. Parking is on the street and the beach is literally beside the street . Few food places and amazing ice cream at one of the shops on the strip .Enjoy !

Melissa Turcotte

Turkey Point during Thanksgiving Weekend is awesome! It was our first time and so much fun! Halloween decorations everywhere, trick or treating on the Saturday night. We stayed at Site 2 in Walking Stick Woods Campsite. Beautiful campsite with the woods all around us. There was a tree in the front middle of our site which made backing in our 26' trailer a bit of an ordeal! We hiked the Fin & Feather Trail as well as the Oak Savanna Trail and Lookout Bluff Trail.

Sunny *****

Great place for all ages. No caterpillars / bugs. Washrooms reasonably quite clean. Turkey Point Beach is great for families with children. Dogs on leash allowed on a part of Beach but on most part of Beach dogs are prohibited. Free Parking Monday to Thursday. Other days paid parking. There are free parking lots on road side but they get quickly occupied.

Sajad Rezakhani

The camp site is really peaceful and nice, but there is no place for children to play. And no beach inside the park.

Jerome Lesperance

1st time visiting Turkey Point. Great park, beautiful spacious sites(at least in our area) One thing I would like to see up graded is the vault comfort stations. We have been to many provincial parks and a the comfort stations have flush toilets that are cleaned throughout the day. Here they are NOT flush but a toilet seat over a hole which smells gross and it is cleaned by a power washer and left soaking wet. There are sinks with running water so how difficult can it be to add flush toilets ??!!!

Stephanie Cheng

There are three hiking trails inside the park. We went to the Lookout Bluff Trail and there are some up and down hills. There is a lookout point where you can see the beach from the top of the bluff. The three trails all linked to other shorter bike trails. Overall, the trails are pristine and serene. I didn't see many people even at a summer weekend. You won't feel hot in the shaded trails. However, I also got to see garter snakes (twice!) and lots of caterpillars. And I found at least ten ticks on my dog's fur. So just be prepared for the pros and cons of the natural environment that the park provides :)

Peggy Johnson

Beautiful big campsites! Lot's of privacy (esp if you request it) and gorgeous flora and fauna and trails, just idyllic place!

Liann Gayle

A nice quiet few days away from reality, surrounded by the beautiful trees and variety of birds! We had a camper so only used the showers in the ladies building, but the men's side was clean and both showers had warm water...which was a nice clean feeling. The beach was clean, white sand on shore and at the bottom of the clear lakewater which was a great refreshing temperature in 30+ degrees c. You can swim out a bit further from the designated area and stand up again in the water....almost like in the carribean. Worth a visit! I would recommend if you want a relaxing time!

Haider Alsabbagh

Although it's a narrow beach compared with others, but it's so quite and a cool place to spend the day. Free parking on Tuesdays, but very busy on weekends.

Yusra Khan

I felt it was a good place for family outing or camping however there was hardly any parking space! We had to move around so much and it's one way road so you have to get out and then come back hoping someone left. Our spot where we were sitting was not clean and the public toilet was extremely dirty. I would've given a 3 star if the toilets were clean and well maintained.

Luke Misurka

Amazing place. Stayed in the park for 3 nights and we were very impressed. The park was fully booked but very quiet through the day as well as the night. The roadways within the park are a bit tight (for a 30' trailer) but otherwise well layed out. Not too many trails in the park for biking and walking but the bigger draw was the beach area...which was amazing. The beach was quite busy but we had no trouble finding a spot for 6 ppl each time we were down there. The dog beach was surprisingly large, spanning several hundred feet of shoreline. To those who do not like dogs, please stay out of the dog beach area...there is probably a couple miles of it for you.

Paloma S

Beautiful beach with clean water and soft sand. The beach is a little narrow so you're pretty close to the water which is perfect in my opinion. However, the beach is very crowded on weekends so I'd suggest coming early in the morning to get a good spot.

Selina Woodworth

It's awesome Go there every year

Anokh Shetty

The campsite is really huge. You can play a game of baseball if you like. Power units are present at any RV registered site. Nice biking trails and connects to nearby trails too. This gives a beautiful biking experience. Not great for hiking as it is not very exciting or animals to see as you can clearly hear the vehicle noise from the nearby streets. Due to Covid restrictions golf was closed. Washrooms definitely need cleaning (1/5 ????). Ticks warning is in place too.

Brandie Mosher

The beach isn't actually in the park but it's about a 2 minute drive up the road. Bathrooms are clean and most sites seem to be a good size. The beach and the water is lovely not over crowded.

paul kort

We enjoyed camping at Turkey Point provincial park with our almost new trailer. The camp sites were roomy with easy access to hookups. We enjoyed the forested campsites which makes us wonder why travel for hours up north when there is such a wonderful park close by. The washrooms were cleaned every day and staff were friendly and helpful. We look forward to going back next season.

Mo Olu-J

Great opportunity to connect with nature. Lot's of trails. Short distance to the beach. Save the sounds of the cars which could be heard from my campsite, it would have been perfect. 1st camping trip, so I really have nothing else to compare it to, but I loved it.

Lisa Doyle

Turkey point is one of my all time favorite places to hike. So many trails , easy and experienced trails to choose from. Different types of forests to walk through, a creek and tons of different wild mushrooms and wild life. Spend an hour or spend the day. Great trails for biking as well!

Syeda Sadaf

Wear plastic or rubber slippers, take towels n extra clothes for kids, and explore the beach ????️. There is parking, restroom and places to sit with family. Boundaries are marked in the water, where you can swim freely.

Daniela Spinazzola

I love it! You just have to take care of the bathrooms and dogs on the beach, but I had a great time there!

Anne Kessler

One word: beautiful!!! Best beach in the area. Parking directly behind the beach, food and drink options available across the street. Public washrooms at the beach, water cristal clear and clean. Sandy entry to water, you can walk in the water for at 100 meters. Great experience.

ceazy ondabeat

two cons 1. the beach is a drive away from the park, 2. not a lot of privacy between sites. there are alot of bike and walking trails connected to the park, and if you have an atv or dirtbike a lot of public trails nearby so that was a big plus for us

Chris RSAM

I forgot how absolutely beautiful Southern Ontario on the shores of Lake Erie is ... the park is clean and we'll maintained... and a gem of of Ontario. Lake Erie water was warm and the beaches a nice sand tan colour. Parking was ample, and the people friendly and welcoming. The surrounding country side is full of things to do.. Additional parks, wineries and other attractions ... it's worth the drive. Until we meet again !!

D Paul

Braethtaking and beautiful.A perfect place to hang out and spend the day by Lake Erie.Glorious Beach and the water is so captivating. Only God could have created such marvelous beauty.Children having fun in the water.

Mukarram Ali

Excellent park, beach area. Not very much crowded and shallow water, good for kids.

Jo D

Nice place, great walking paths. No direct access to the lake, needed to take the car but despite the thunderstorm and briefly closed bathrooms due to rain puddles (mini lake!) we had great time

Genevieve Gee

Parking lot to beach proximity is a factor that's often overlooked when choosing a beach to hang away, but above and beyond the beautiful sand, warm lake Erie water and uncrowded spaces because of permit control - I really appreciated not having to carry my stuff a million miles to get to the beach.

Rj Siva

Turkey point provincial park is amazing. Hot days we had in the past few weeks, this place is simply the place to be at. Shallow level in the water for quite the distance is ideal for families.

Jason McCullough

Beautiful beach good food right there on the strip and a bar it's awesome

Genevieve Harry

Clean, spacious and fun for children. Washroom facilities need 100% renovations, they were terrible however it doesn't change the fact that the day we spent here was amazing!

Erin Zanier

Nice park and well maintained. Bathrooms were open, clean but outdated and therefore dingy. Sites were really nice but tight and extremely difficult to maneuver around all the trees. Best for tent or small trailer campers. Soil is sandy and drained the torrential rain were experienced quickly.

Mariam Yousuf

A lovely beach with shallow water but with seaweeds. There is a turkey point playground nearby for small children. Also 3 trails that you could enjoy. Worth it to visit. The downside was the bathrooms where portable and not any cleanliness at all. It smelled really bad.

Kevin Dynes

Loved the park the small down fall is driving to the beach but only 5 mins away. The trails and site sizes make up for it. Planning a week trip next year!

Sreeharsha Udayashankar

Decent park for biking and the beach. Not great for hiking though

David Morgan

Disappointed with the park warden. We are a group of families that traditionally camp together and then gather for a Saturday group dinner between 6 and 8pm. However, we were told to disperse right in the middle of dinner at around 7pm. …
