This Park is classified in the category of State park.
It is a great provencial park and very close Saskatoon. People don't care social distancing so there should be more signs in the park.
I've been here couple years ago with my family vacation, this is a good place and clean water,
Lots of things to do. Rent (affordably) canoes, paddle boats 2or 4 seats, paddle bikes, kayaks. Pool with water slide, or small beach area on the water. Lots of grassy picnic areas. Close to Saskatoon, so it usually has lots of people, but it was very friendly and fun! Didn't get a chance to check out the trails, but explored the lake by paddle boat for a couple of hours. Only draw back is the lake is very weedy. Lots of birds on it who are used to people so they let you get close... Loons, mallards, etc.
Fantastic place for you and your family/friends spend the weekend. They have have a lot of things for you to do. Pool, golf, canoe, bike, camp... the list is long... They are constantly updating their establishment, improving the camping area. They should have more opinions for restaurants. If you are in Saskatoon this is one of the things for you to do in summer time. ⛺️????????????♀️
If you want to have a lunch by the lake or just watch people as they play or walk the shore or maybe just sit and rest on a nice warm day, this would be the place.
Great beach and ample grass area! Water is clean and not too cold, nice and shallow for a long time which is great for kids. Concession place is nice, however a little pricey. Mini golf is good. Park area for kids is great. Rentals for kayak and things also a little pricey but I guess at least it’s offered! Beach can get a bit busy. Camping spots are terrible tho- that’s the only huge complaint I have. Not private whatsoever and very close together. Some are pretty tiny as well. Overall a great lake for spending the day.
Always fun for a quick relaxing place to visit with the family or by yourself. I almost prefer it more in the off season when nobody is around.
Great place to spend the summer. They have great events for kids to get crafty, have fun and make memories. I have been going there every summer since the age of 1 and love it every year.
a good getaway from Saskatoon, lots of picnic spots, beach is often crowded and campgrounds can be loud and the washrooms aren't the nicest The hike is alright, lots of birds for birdwatching. The lake is alright for swimming with the occasional leach.
Between the pool, campground, lake, tennis courts, golf course and trails, this park has it all. Parking is a bit pricey
Great little beach area, pool too. The playground is modern and large. Lots of green space to let loose. The mini golf was super fun and ice cream treats weren’t far away for after. If you like bird watching you’ll have a blast here.
No more wood fires in the day picnic grounds, propane fire bowls may or may not be allowed, depending on which conservation officer you ask, as some of them are quite pretty, especially if you go into the park after 9:00 PM, they will try …
Cross Country Skiing Went to Cactus Hills to cross country ski today (Jan 4th, 2021). After the warm weather the past few days, the track is super icy and uneven and looks like it hasn't been groomed in a good while. I would not recommend anyone who is not a seasoned cross country skier to try this course- it is extremely challenging with many smaller hills that are pretty treacherous in these conditions.
Came for a wedding for the first time. We rented the Night owl cabins. Super cute area. The site of the cabins were beautifully kept. Very clean cabins, bathrooms, and grounds. Cabin renters have a group area where you can have a group fire a picnic shelter lots of picnic tables and seating. There's a bbq but provide your own propane. I give the cabin area a 4.5 only wish there was a in ground fire pit to have better fires. Otherwise I would give it a 5 for Night Owl. The man that runs the cabins is so nice so that made it a good experience too. So helpful. The lake was a good size. Food swimming area.
Kinda like suburban camping. Camping spots don't have much privacy from your neighbours and it's not like you're really in nature. Prefer going further north however, the pool is a great feature to have access to.
Very dirty beach. Do not recommend.
$10.00 per vehicle to enter. $15.00 per 1/2 hour to rent paddle board, kayak or pedal boat. The lake is like a large slough. The beach is small for the amount of users. The picnic area isn't too bad. The food is also decent.
This is a very good place, I have visited here three times.
Love it here! Camp here every year. So beautiful. Just wish the would try to develop some of the land on the opposite side of the lake
In time of covid-19 no supervision and many people without social distancing. we entered and immediately left
I watched a baptism held there on this Monday. It's really cool.
The Night Owl cabins has awesome shower facilities, plus is very quiet.
Nice lake, kinda weedy, has a swimming pool and camp grounds.
Nice place for enjoying the nature.
Close to Saskatoon. Lots of shade. Pool is nice
Not a complete package. The lot sizes, staff and parks are the best but the water is very dirty and there is NO fishing. My camping trip is not complete without fishing.
Nice spot close to the city. Except for the line up in Summers at their check-in
Close to Saskatoon. Nice and clean, Well kept washrooms and a bunch of good families made the three days remarkable. Good Bye BBQ was the best. Just before leaving we all had a wonderful time beside the fire and the food came out to be the delicious most in a long time. Thanks Corona.
We were enjoying our vacation at Pike lake. The cabins are good, has barbecue. Only complaint is for swimming pool. On the weekend they allowed only 65 people to go inside. Lake beach was crowded but nice.
-july24.2020???????? A well maintained park????,if you're looking for a place to relax????,its just nearby city????. You can rent a kayak????, paddleboard????,pedalboat???? to enjoy your day. you can also do fishingan ????????????????
Good location....far from hustle bustle of city...lush green scenery....
Park is a good place. Everything is cash only which doesn't make sense at all. The huddle store which is located in the beach has the worst manager ever. She is a racist piece of sh... . We found a fly in our ice cream and even though I was sure that it was inside the ice cream, she refused to refund or change the ice cream. Just because we are not white, does not mean we are not HUMAN!!!
It's ok for a quick day trip to the lake. The beach often has mounds of trash left from the night before. Bathrooms might get once cleaned once every couple weeks. I wouldn't recommend camping there with young kids. Parties tend to be loud and late. No one enforces the quiet times at all. Sad really. I would classify it as a Regional Park at best. Defintiley not up to provincial park standards.
It was good swimming n barbeque was delish. The whole fam had a beautiful day.
Had a great time, didn't use the water park but did go for a swim in the lake and then back to a friend's lot for a BBQ and drinks. Can be very busy up to about 4pm at the weekend.
We went to Pike Lake as a family.... Every part of the outing there was good except one...When we were sitting on the beachfront of the lake we had people come sit in front of us that were both smoking and drinking with out caring at all about other adults and children. Other people smoked cigarettes away from the beach including my adult children. I think they should have some No Smoking signs displayed right before people enter the beach area... after all it is a public place.
Small but good for a day trip We went there with friends just like a weekend escape. Nothing much to do there, not many restaurants, but very nice picnic spot if you bring food and stuffs. Never try during the winter, cos not worth to resist the cold and stay there. Riding the paddling boat is nice but pricey. Overall, it was ok.
Pike Lake Provincial park is a nice close park and a great change from the city. I have been at the Huddle and my experience has always been inclusive and welcoming. Thank you staff and Management for making my stay a great one.
We spent the afternoon with our dog enjoying the many shaded walking trails, lots of space and pet friendly areas they are just not allowed on the beach. The food at the concession was decent as well.
Decided to stay at Pike Lake PP, it was a very odd experience. The beach was absolutely awful and you had to pay per person to get into the pool. They also had a clean camp ground and bathroom/showers. During my stay they had a fire ban, understandable but no where on their site did they mention before we booked. The site was awful, definitely only meant for RV and trailers. TLDR; awful beach, hidden costs, and mediocre site
Very good times! Bathrooms were clean, we always had wood at walking distance. Cabin and location of it was perfect!
Our family has always loved the amenities Pike Lake offers...great beach, swimming area and pool, paddle boats, hiking trail, mini golf, playground, shower facilities, concession has fast food, ice cream, basic necessities and arcade games. So close to the city makes it a great go-to camping area or a nice day trip for the family. Although in this day and age, they might want to consider security for the beach to enforce social distancing...these measures need to be in place for the safety of all park goers.
Had a really good time with the family. Pricing was fair. They clearly can do a better job with cleaning the place. Yesterday's pistachio shells from the inconsiderate guest should not be today's problems around the pool.
Nice place close to the city to get away to. Nice walking trail, swimming pool, cabins and campsites.
Our family loves Pike Lake! We take our trailer out there during the summer and spend a few days at a time. Great facilities for the whole family to enjoy and only a half hour outside of Saskatoon.
Everything that you need for a fun day(s) with family! Nice space for camping. Well kept area. Nice little beach. Love the pool, and lots of space for BBQ. great location for weddings as well!
Great Lake for overnight camping or a drive out for one day for the pool/lake! Closest lake to Saskatoon and very beautiful and well kept.
Very annoyed and not happy at all. We are here just today, May 30 Sunday. There is a very long line up of vehicles. There was no one who informed us of what is going on or at least inform the visitors of the reason for this long line up. We are still waiting as i am leaving this review. We have already waited for almost 2 hours. I could give 0 star if i could due to poor customer service. A little info would help and comfort visitors especially the kids who could not wait but to be at the lake..
Very nice amenities, excellent mini golf, huge group site but one group site doesn’t have power.
Clean, big and convenient parking lot, well organized
Waited over an hour to get through the gate on Sunday!! Come up with something more efficient, you know May long weekend will be busy.
A wonderful place to camp, close enough to city in case you forget something or can go to forestry farm and berry barn
So much groove, so many places to make fire for barbique, all you need I Chaco or firewood grove has started, a place to enjoy your weekend and holiday with your loved ones.
Nice sites, fun for the kids. Quiet at night. Nature trail could use a little work in spots and people could use some work on refraining from thowing garbage wherever they please.
I go there every weekend in summer. Mainly for families
First time experience of the beach. We were set up close to the pool/rental station. Lots of picnic tables available, canteen/store, atm, and cash only rentals. $10 per day per vehicle. I give only 4 stars cause while the beach and canteen are great. The equipment we rented (2 seater paddle boat #3) seats kept coming out of its position. It was $10 for 30 minutes. And 3/4 of it was fixing my seat and spinning in circles. They had a variety of things to rent, and they provide life jackets (mandetory) but all in all a great place.
This was an awesome little drive thru light display. We didn't even do the Crokicurl and it looked great too!! Definitely on our list for next year!!!!!
So we came dor the winter festivités.... They charged us $10 to get into the park. No batgrooms were available! My 4 year old had an accident. Because tge batgrooms were all locked! When we FINALLY found a bathroom to change his pants there was no doorhandle on the inside door! They have no business charging park admission for this service! We were regulars here but i cant say we will be coming back any time aoon! I am so dissapointed!
Great Family Afternoons in sun here. Our kids love the playgrounds and the beach!
It is so much fun just to visit the beach and have a camp fire for the day.
