What a great spot to stop and enjoy the water, sunset or sand. Caution though the current can be strong I suggest if you have children to not let them go where they cant touch the bottom.

Great park for walking, running or events. Lots of grass and paths to take good for all levels of activitys. The park even has a animal farm which is great for everyone to enjoy, there is lots of parking all around the park so depending on where you want to start/end you will have a good spot to park. The beach in the summer is busy but its because it's nice - and its it's normal for it to be clean and well kept. They have have a bandstand here which the city often uses for events, as well as other groups within the city.

Awesome as usual...Even though park equipment is off-limits to kids, park benches and picnic tables are available. Lots of animals outside today, great to be outside again ???? ???? Stage 3 update: Equipment and Pavillion and beach areas all open again...Beach was beautiful for swim & sun. My daughter loves the "new" children's equipment playground. Lots of interesting stuff!...Also new softer spongy ground instead of concrete, easy on legs and prolly much better if you fall...Way to go Canatara groundskeepers!!...Props for that & also washrooms are open and available in middle of park. Clean and working!! Well done!!! 5 Stars

Eccellent its a gr8 beach for older people but for the younger they need too be careful of the current and wear water socks as it gets very deep and rocky .just be safe in watching at all times xo

Very nice beach, plenty of parking. We enjoyed this beach on a trip to Sarnia on a hot weekend. I would suggest water shoes as it has some rocks right before you get in the water. They aren't sharp, just a bunch of tiny rocks. There was a food truck in the parking lot when we were there which provided us with some food. I would suggest to bring your own though. The water was cold, but refreshing, nice clear water, and overall a clean beach free of garbage!

A HUGE absolutely gorgeous park!! It has a playground for all of the 'Littles', also a lot of space to bring your own outdoor activities for you & your Family to enjoy!! ???? The beaches are absolutely STUNNING here, as you walk along the shoreline you can also grab up some sea shells (One of my FAVORITE things to do while I'm there!!♡) or some colored glass or weird/interesting rocks (if you're a collector!!). I would recommend this place to EVERYONE, as there is a little something to do here for EVERY SINGLE AGE!! ???? Great place to bring your Family to have a picnic or BBQ, a Family Reunion or even Birthday parties!! ???? If you're ever in Sarnia you absolutely NEED to take the time to check out this AMAZING park!!! ????????

Another must-visit tourist attraction in Sarnia. The beach isn’t long but has pretty views. The shore is very rocky so be careful while entering the water. It gets better (sandy) when you are about 10ft in. Good spot to spend time with family and friends. Lots of families and tourists hang out here. Free parking.

The small trail also known as Tarzan land was terrible, no wildlife to see. You could see houses traffic and here the traffic as well. Every time I try going through this trail it's worse. I use to enjoy going through this trail in Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter before they changed owners. This is not a forest anymore.

Nice park and beautiful blue water. I gave it a 4 star cause the Beach has lots of stones and the water is usually cold. Also life guards are not present all over the beach so u swim at ur own risk. The water is deep so be careful for ur young kids.

It was it was a very beautiful beach and waterfront with a harbor to the left by the bridge that was pretty for pictures. But there was no snack bar there was no drink station there were no washrooms nor any garbage cans and it was not wheelchair accessible

Though not as popular as Grand Bend Beach, Canatara Park has a very nice sandy beach with clear waters, and is always not too busy. It is a perfect spot for families, with a life guard on-duty and 2 washroom buildings at both ends of the beach. Sometimes, a food truck will park in the parking lot as well. In some areas there is some gravel on the beach, close to the water, so a pair of aqua shoes could be very useful. Observing the sunset there is stunning!!

Lovely beach! We went on long weekend and it was not extremely busy as we found parking spots and a great spot to sit. Just carry water shoes as in the water there are small rocks and pebbles which hurt but the water was nice! We went in the start of September so I believe the average temperature of the water was already up.

Very accessible and never busy during the week even Friday for Sunset. Don't let the number of vehicles in the parking lot put you off. Lots of breach here and some shade from the poplar trees that line the southern most parking lot near the condos and yacht basin.

This is a wonderful park. Beaches, walking trails, bmx bike park, animal farm, summer movie nights, and play equipment. The list goes on. The parking near the beaches need repaving as they are very bumpy and deteriorating in spots. The speed bumps installed has helped slow down traffic too. The city should invest in some WiFi infrastructure for the beach area IMO. But otherwise you'll have fun doing the various activities at this park for any age.

This beach is really clean and has great amenities like a family change room, showers for washing off the sand, and a adjoined petting zoo. There's also a walkway down to the beach for easier access for the disabled. All in all this is a spectacular beach to go to with family.

This is a great big park with lots to see and do. It has washrooms picnic tables enclosed areas . It also has great trails for hiking running and biking. The beach is sandy where you can play volleyball and build sand castles. The children's animal farm is also popular among the kids.

Restrooms are clean, well maintained and stocked. Easy access to the beach including wheel chair accessibility. All in all a BEAUTIFUL place to watch the sun rise and set! This place is a so stunningly beautiful..yet maintained by City of Sarnia with overwhelming and complete ambivalence and incompetence. The Owner of this place is the equivalent of a horrible Landlord. Go visit.. but lower your expectations.

I’ve been going to Canatara Beach since I was a baby, it’s always a lovely place to be with a beautiful sunset view (I strongly recommend going for sunset) I’m sad that the cove has become a party destination but that’s not the parks fault. They’ve kept it very clean and nice otherwise.

One of the most clear and clean water I've been to so far. We love this beach much more than grand bend or Port Stanley. It has nice waves. The washrooms aren't crowded and most of the times are clean. Bring everything you need because there are no place to buy anything near the beach. There is a park also with playground and BBQ areas and picnic tables.

A beautiful, clean beach. Decent parking. There are a few small trails to walk through. I’ve seen a couple different types of waterfowl and plenty of ducklings, and whatever baby goose are called. I recommend this for a nice picnic in the grass, forest, or on the beach.

The beaches have a really nice view over the water. Nice waves and a great place to bring the whole family. Only down side is that the beach is covered in rocks! Basically there is little sand on the surface by the water. Water shoes is recommended!

This was the cleanest beach I have ever been to. The water was super clean. There is also a good trail to walk on. It is really far from Brampton but it is worth the wait. (3 Hour Drive) I recommend this place.

Worst beach you can go to. The rocks are so bad, you can't even get in the water without hurting yourself or cutting your foot open. It's also hard to get out of the water because of the tide and rocks. Never coming back! Definitely a safety hazard!

Huge beach with cristal clear water. The beach is separate by sections. The beginning (1st mile or so) there is lifeguards and bathrooms. A bit more down further, there is no lifeguard but there is bathrooms, at that section you have to be careful because there is fast moving water. Reaching the end of the beach; there is a party cove where the water is shallow and warm. The only drawback are the numerous boats parked where we swim ????

We found this hidden gem in Sarnia. It is a beautiful beach to enjoy a whole day with friends and family. The water is crystal clear and found a colourful stones as well. It is easy to find a parking as well as it is in the park area. One can enjoy amazing sunset as well.

Walked in to the beach Canatara...nice walk but the windchill was -9... I think I overdid it as my 13 yr. old Sheltie was limping and lagging behind, but she enjoyed our outing, just the same..Took some photos of the lake through the trees.

Beautiful all year round! During the summer the water is crystal clear and in the winter time you get these amazing giant ice/snow dunes! And don’t get me started on the beautiful summer sunsets!

A rock hunters/lovers dream!!! We could have spent hours let alone a full day, but our trip was short & sweet. Extremely clean! We can’t wait to return in warmer, sunnier weather. The trails that we walked a short bit, that led to the beach, were super tidy & seemingly well maintained. Definitely the perfect day trip destination. Definitely saw many parking lots, so parking seems plentiful. Garbage cans all over, so not much to little to no garbage to be seen.

Nice and Clean, Easily Accessible Park! My family and I made a brief stop last summer (Aug 2021) at this place to have a glimpse of famous clear bluish waters of Lake Huron. Everything I read about was true. It's unfortunate we didn't swim because of time constraints and weather (very sunny but cool & windy). I marked this place on my itinerary for the next time we visit.

Perfect beach to relax at. Feels like being at the ocean and the water is perfect for swimming. Great spot. Parking is free, there is a walking trail in the park area and usually there is a truck selling burgers and fries and sausage on a bun. Love this beach and has become a summer favorite.

Beautiful park and beach. We went on Labour day, and parking was no problem. It was also Free. There is chip truck near the beach area and washrooms are regularly being cleaned. Also no biting flies on this beach! Unlike all other beaches I've gone to this summer. The water is warm, with bearable waves for swimming.

Solid beach park. Good for a small picnic or a sandcastle build. Can get busy at certain times. The terrain is very rocky so sandals are essential to keeping feet safe

Such a great park! It’s very large, with many pavilions and one very big one by the beach. Also an animal farm with train rides nearby. We have family gatherings here two times a year. Great place for it.

Canatara park is beautiful, right on the water with a lot of shaded picnic areas and playground equipment, animal farm and trails. The beach where we swam was very rocky though, hard on your feet. Very beautiful scenery though on the lake!

Great beautiful beach here, but it often can be Sarnia's coldest option due to the closeness to the river. Park is also beautiful and has so many options like playgrounds, a petting zoo, swings, open areas, ect. Parking can be an issue on the weekend as the park does get quite busy!

Very beautiful and clean sandy beach. America can be seen on the otherside from the beach. An animal zoo is in the park as well with some rare species of animals. Also a six kilometres trekking track. A big parking lot and showers for the people who swim in the beach to het cleaned. Also life guards are there to keep an eye on the people who are swimming.

One of the best fresh water beaches within a modest sized city that I know of. Erosion and high water have taken a bit of the main Beach away, but it's still a great place to take the kids.

Beautiful park down by the lake. This is the jewel of Sarnia. Long sandy beach, huge open spaces, walking paths and a nice little animal farm for the kids. The park is full of oaks and maples, a few play structures, a bike or skateboard section and a fitness area with built in machines.

It was amazing for how long the beach was and to see the port Huron water tower from afar but the the stones were tough on the feet when you went into the water but it it was nice to see their was enough beach to enjoy and lay down and relax compare to other beaches along port huron espically in the Grand bend area with very little beach.

Overall very good beach and park. Very clean and lots of areas for you and your family to relax. The water is clean and clear. I am taking away 1 star two reasons: one, because the whole beach isn’t sandy. Closer to the water and in the water are stones and rocks that can be hard to tread if you don’t have water shoes. If you go prepared, it’ll be more fun. And two, because it isn’t a very long beach. It can be crowded on weekends. Parking is very accessible but limited.

The park is beautiful and free. There's an animal farm, bmx bike trails, workout equipment, good washrooms and great picnic areas. The beach is really rocky though, so not great for swimming.

Whatever the season always an opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery in Canatara. Trails for a long walk, or sit and relax overlooking the waves as they crash the shoreline . Best part of a winter visit? Most of the seagulls have followed the french fry trucks south.

I always enjoy going to Canatara Park. There are lots of nice picnic spots, the beach is decent and they have a little farm for the kids. There is a great playground right beside a picnic pavilion right when you enter the park and washrooms right there as well, so great for families.

Really nice clean park with bike / walking trails, and lots of beaches . Close to food trucks and restaurants in Point Edward ( under the blue water bridges) Also a a nice children's farm that has lots of picnic areas. Take note that no dogs are allowed at the farm. Great place to spend a beautiful summer day !

Need to maintain the Public Washrooms more regularly. There is a nice rubber carpet to the beach for disabled people & the elderly with walkers. The sandy beach is beautiful.
