Good modern park, close to downtown. The community centre hosts lots of clubs and activities.

Large enough for Dog's to be able to run and play.. Small enough to be Able To: pay attention to, get to your dog, if Anything Starts between them. This Are is One not Two area's. Small and Large dog's are Together.. Running water, garbage can for baggie's, picnic tables, chairs, access to some shade. City drops loads of Wood Chips a Couple of times a Year. Great help with Mud. Good place to Meet People in your neighbourhood/community. The Children get to See Dog's. As Playground is at the other end. (north) Next to the Russell Ave Community Centre. On the Down Side of this Big Area, Not Enough Trees in Playground area by Splash Pad. So, You Will Be in the Sun in that area. Also, There is NO Public Washroom.

Nice little splash pad and park. Small but the kids enjoy it. Rubberized play area. No shade nearby for kids. Dog park is next to it causing a couple issues: 1) Smell of dog feces and urine on hot days or just after light summer rainfall. 2) Lots of owners with strange dogs wandering near by raising risk kids can be bitten. Kids like to go to the fence of the dog park to talk to/pet the cute dogs, thereby raising risk of being bitten etc. Corner store within 100 feet with slightly higher then usual prices, a other about 2 blocks from there. Community centre on same property and on bus route. Less kids then larger parks.

I like the park for the splash pad. I also like the splash pad is set on a timer. There is not a lot of shade available for babies or children. I went on a Sunday morning and park was empty for our entire visit. They have a play set for older kids and young kids and toddlers. Overall good park. Garbage was not an issue and I did not find any drug paraphernalia.

Burgoyne Woods dog park is 1000x better - especially since there are separate small and large dog sections, but this is one is okay and conveniently located. In the winter the frozen wood chips suck tho.

Some people don't know how to clean up after themselves, but discounting this fact, the park and it's splash pad have been the highlight of my kids' summers for nearly 17 years.

My kids and I had such a fun time here today! The soccer field was great. It had beautifully maintained green grass. This park is clean most times we have been there. There is public indoor washrooms which make it very accommodating for parents and their children!

My kids play here all the time, I love it, however city staff does need to come out a few times a day for clean up of unsafe materials, though they dont, so parents are left picking up potentially harmful things.

Splash pad and playground for the kiddies. Leash free dog park on south end. The only detriment to this park is that a great deal of it is fenced off and is now part of the adjacent school. No public washroom. Located in a quaint old growth neighborhood. The site of the park is somewhat historic, being the old General Electric transformer factory. Subject to some controversy, the site was slated for use as a subdivision. However the land proved contaminated from the previous industrial use. So the city remediated the land and designated it a park.

Great park with a playground, splash pad, full bathroom in the community centre during certain times. My little one loves it. Only downside is that there is not much shade.

Smaller playground, love the blue rubber ground, small splash pad area. Lots of benches and a couple built in picnic tables. Not a lot of green space but located right next to a school that also has a playground. This park is located next to the Russell Community Centre.

Splash pad is awesome!! There's shade and places to sit close to the splash pad....the playground is amazing also!! Water was on at 10:30 when we arrived. Excellent place to go with your little ones????

Great park for the dogs im there everyday almost people and dogs are great the gates could use some maintenance I would have fixed them myself for the dogs but I can't find the hardware anywhere hopefully the city fixes them soon before summer.

I have loved coming here with my dog but this morning I had two very rude ladies with Huskies look at me entering the dog park and ask "oh are you bringing that dog in here?" I get that my dog isn't large but it is a public dog park.

It is in a great location; easy to get to and close to downtown. No shelter from the wind. Not a lot of shade in the summer. Gets very muddy after it rains.. In the summer, it has gotten pretty poopy. Watch your step!

It was great for a 3 year old. There are some splashing buckets. We stayed for 2 hours before I the parent got bored. There are dry parks as well. So we bounced back and forth between them. We went two times. The second time was way to hot for the dry parks and we stayed at the splash pad for 45 minutes before my 3 year old asked to go home. Great water park. Not too crowded.

Frequent the leash-free dog park almost daily. Clean, well set-up, with picnic tables and lawn chairs, a hose and kiddie pools and buckets for the dogs to drink out of. Gates r never locked and no city staff lurking around policing the place. Good place to socialize your dog (and yourself) and let him/her run around while u take a break. To amend this a bit now that September's here.....since people fill the kiddie pools for their dogs and then keep emptying them in the same spot to refill them, the whole area has become a big puddle of mud that u have to skirt around into the trees to avoid in order to reach the hose. I guess the city doesn't check it much or they'd see this and put down more mulch!! Also, someone had provided a 7 spray attachment to the hose which was great for bathing my dog....this was promptly broken and not replaced which really sucks!

There is plenty of space at this park including a multitude of things to do here. Not so much in winter, but I guess you could cross country ski. Two dog parks one for large breeds, one for small breeds.
