AMAZING SUNRISE!! The one thing I didn't enjoy was that the beach beside our campsite wasn't clean. However, the campsite itselft was fantastic! There is a 24/7 clean bathroom with a shower. In addition to an outdoor sink to do the dishes. Call a head of time and check if they allow fires. When we went there was a fire warning for the area.
A locals beach, Kildare
(Translated) Epic beach !! (Original) Epic beach!!
(Translated) wild beach and campsite very acceptable for nature lovers without artifice ...
Jacques Cartier is a great family park. We visit every year and enjoy the clean facilities, friendly campers and staff too. The mosquitos are quite plentiful and no amount of repellent seems to help! Perhaps next year I'll invest in a Mosquito Magnet!
Nice little provincial campground
(Translated) What a view! Complete calm. (Original) Quelle vue! Calme complet.
I loved it ! Very narrow strip of sand but truly relaxing if you like to read a book by the shore while children enjoy the sun sand water or the park.
Beautiful views. The park upgrades and expansion are coming along nicely.
(Translated) Great fun visited (Original) Super le fun a visité
(Translated) Very far from everything ... perfect if you want to exile ... less to visit the island.
Clean park and friendly staff. Mosquitoes are monsters. Lol
Wonderful place with a gorgeous view of Gulf of St Lawrence. Plenty of space. No fees to enter or park. Beautiful, clean beach. Red soil is so prominent. The area also has activity centre for kids with it's own schedule for activities. Mosquitoes might bug a bit. It is less than rest of the province. It is recommended to bring a mosquito spray with you.
We didn't stay here but just spent time on the beach. It is very rocky and narrow. Not one of my favourite spots on the island but not a bad spot.
Sites are very close to the beach, ensure your camping gear can withstand strong winds. Online map made it seem there was more shelter for some sites then there actually is. Would definitely go back but now know which sites we will choose and would not leave canopy up on quite windy days. Beach is beautiful and great for relaxing and walking. There are life guards and an activity center for kids with activities organized during the day.
I wanted an inexpensive vacation and decided to go camping at Jacques Cartier. One of the most compelling reasons to stay here is it is a mere 30 minutes north of Quebec City, so I was able to spend my days site-seeing in the city before heading "home" to my tent at night. Truly a best-of-both-worlds experience. The park itself - with its mountains, forests and river - is stunning. My campsite provided excellent privacy, although the gravel surface requires good padding for sleeping comfortably. I have camped in many state and national parks in the USA, but I was impressed by the "comfort station" at JC, which was modern and largely free of the nasty creepy-crawlies I've come to expect, and it was nice and clean; indeed, I observed that every morning a team of staff members came and cleaned it. I also had an enjoyable and enlightening conversation with the fellow working at the welcome station about the political and social environment in Canada vs. the USA. Canada remains one of my favorite countries to visit, and camping at a provincial park is a great way for an American to get to know the locals while enjoying the country's natural wonders.

Great spot but the mosquitoes and horseflies can be pretty bad. Bring a screened shelter to fully enjoy your stay!
The park was very simple. Tent camping sites are very close together and lack privacy between them (no trees or shrubs to hide your neighbouring campers), however the view of the ocean was fantastic! There are public washrooms, playgrounds for kids, and a beautiful beach to comb and walk along. Compared to other Provincial Parks, this one just seems bare bones, hence the 4 stars.
Calm, beautiful, friendly local people camping here on weekends
Such a beautiful spot
We stopped here on a day trip of local provincial parks and it was our least favourite of the day. There wasn't very much property to walk around and discover so our visit was over in 20 minutes. I'm not sure what other people have seen, but when we were there the beach was disgusting - and it smelled terrible. We did go after season, and the actual campgrounds seem to be well maintained but look small. Cool ship playground for kids. Would not camp here.
Nice beach to walk on.
Beautiful beach.
Our experience here was kind of meh.. There was not a lot to choose from for lots, and the majority were field-style. I like the more "back in the woods" kind of camping. Staff seemed friendly, however. We booked for 2 nights and ended up only staying one.
Beautiful beach side campsite. Some sites are 10m from the ocean. It's small so could fill up quick on weekends
I’d didn’t camp here but enjoyed a long walk on the beach and the use of the picnic shelter.
Really nice and small campground. Everyone staff and guests are very friendly and helpful. Get on the list if you want a full service site cause people love this place that much. All it needs is wifi and it would be a little bit of heaven on earth.
The campground smelled like sewage... we soon realized the smell was coming from the beach, which was rocky, full of jellyfish and ugly looking. The camp sites were very close together, zero privacy, and not respecting Covid19 guidelines. Overall a very bad experience — would not recommend.
(Translated) Despite our superb campsite located directly on the seashore with an exceptional view, our stay at the park was ruined by the bad services. The toilets are so bad and the showers even worse! You feel sick just to put your feet inside. Nothing to do with other low budget municipal campsites. Mosquitoes are voracious and in unlimited quantity.
A beautiful park. We would have loved to stay longer.
(Translated) Tree-less camping where some sites are big but others are very close to each other. No internet. A beach "nature" littered with debris from the sea. In my opinion, not veritable swimmable. There are lifeguards on the spot, paid to do nothing because we have never seen anyone go swimming despite the heat and a high number of children on site.
Love going there
Nice beach
Kitchen could be cleaner. Sites were very nice. Great long beaches. Unserviced sites are much nicer in terms of more 'tucked away' from others.
(Translated) Beautiful campsite the pitches are large with a few trees very close to the beach but the beaches are very rocky and you absolutely have to have a few things on your feet if not painful but the places are quiet and well laid out the people are very friendly, helpful, and smiling even if they gossip in English !!!!!
A hidden gem, small and cozy yet accomadating for camping or just a day trip. Showers bathrooms and laundry on site. Amazing beaches great bird watching and a terrific playground for the kids.
Never going back. So many jelly fish not a single person was in the water and it was a perfect swim day. Lifeguard said it's always like that. Unfortunate
Very clean facilities. I love that they have a drop off for garbage/recycling/composting/garbage. The beach was nice but lots of gross black seaweed that I wouldn't walk through.
Very nice staff, and great unserviced sites...near the water and spaced far enough apart for some privacy.
We van camped right on the edge of the beach line, it was amazing. Sadly there was a fire ban but not their fault other than that place was great!!
Nice beach but the sites are very open offering no privacy and no coverage from the wind or way to tarp to block rain. Also it's a bit out of the way from the rest of the island!
Nice quiet beach
Nice place
At the Moment it is very dirty lots of washed up seaweed and logs along with some lobster traps we also moved some wood off the beach that had rust screws in it other then that it's a beautiful place to just watch the water
The camp sites are fine. Beach is wonderful. Their washrooms are disgusting. There is only one womens shower and it was crawling with ants and dirty. We stayed at Linkletter Park in PEI. 100 percent better park for facilities and cleanliness. I will not say here again.
Loved camping right by the water and you meet nice people there too. We extended our stay.
Nice park. Beautiful beach. One tiny thing wrong is that the campsites are very small but well maintained RV peak
Beautiful beach. You can walk for miles
(Translated) Ordinary campsite, We expected more since it is a provincial park, coming from Quebec the SEPAQ are Bcp better compared to here. The toilets are dirty (it's been 2 days that there is plenty of sting in the men's room) and just 1 shower. On the other hand, some unserviced tent sites are good but we are only talking about 3 sites. . . Il y a rien à faire autours
Nice beach
Didn't like the facilities there. Needs an upgrade compare to the other P.E.I provincial parks. Beach is nice however the mosquitos were un forgiving. There was tooo much mosquitoes to the point i was going crazy ened up cooking in my tent. I was literally held hostage in my tent. looking up at the mesh of my tent it was covered in mosquitos there was at least 100 sitting on my tent waiting for me. i go camping all the time, i Never encountered something like this before. The night was beautiful, calm cool, nice view of the moon..however i didn't get to enjoy it because of the mosquitos.
Stopped in for the day to check out the beach. Staff was friendly.
(Translated) At the other end of Prince Edward Island, a natural and picturesque site!
Gorgeous place, friendly people and amazing beachfront camping spaces.
Favourite campground, except for the skunks......
(Translated) We have a small trailer so 2 services. No privacy, toilet and shower filled with mosquito due to the door always open, 2 showers only. They say toilet adapted but the only thing suitable is a ramp and that's it. No wifi, a beach always empty despite a full campsite. I am not seen any lifeguard in 2 days. Park for child with casiment nothing. I love being close to the beach but with a dead gull head right at the beach entrance which has drag along all the way so no maintenance. But very nice view between the big caravan on the edge of the sea ..
Very nice, had a wonderful stay
It's a great place to vacation and relax with many miles of beach to walk!
It was good the beach was ok .
