It's a very nice walking trail. In the beginning of the trail their is alot of Goose poo but after that is very nice. U walk along the trail with view's of the water. Biking, walking, running, it's the perfect trail. I took my dog their for her walk and we both had a good time ????

It is accessible to everyone. There is a public washrooms, historic plaques, playground, pavilions, exercise areas (4), side trails, portals/pokestops for virtual reality players, and benches placed along the trail to rest or just enjoy the view. If you are so inclined, instead of returning the way you came, for hikers and cyclists, leave the trail to head to the shopping plazas after you pass under the bridge. Or take a longer journey up the trail until you reach the train tracks where the official trail ends. There are signs of wildlife and birds.

Love this green space in the heart of welland. Lovely riverside trails with lots of trees, picnic tables and just enough garbage cans. They even have exercise equipment (balance beams and chin-up bars) along the main trail. Relatively quiet mid weekday afternoons.

Beautiful place between the Welland Recreational Canal, and the Welland River. There's a lovely paved path that runs from the park all the way down to where the recreational canal meets the new canal, or a lower path along the river made of mostly gravel. Upper path is well maintained even throughout the winter.

It’s a Man Made island which developed while making the welland canal to separate the Welland river and Canal. You can see the river in the right side and Canal in the left side. Perfect place for Fishing and Water Activity. If you love kayaking or rowing then you can bring your own Kayak as the Canal is no longer use for ships . You can find small fox, Ducks and a lot of Birds and squirrels. Activities to do 1. Children’s park 2. Family Get together 3. 4 km Walking stretch 4. Cycling 5. Rowing or Kayaking 6. Fishing 7. Amazing spot for daily walks. Actually it's our most favorite spot in Welland. We made friends with a chipmunk here so we see her every time we are here. We feed the birds and the ducks. All the animals are very friendly because they are fed by humans all the time. You can run, bike, walk, have a small picnic, small fishing here. You need to check this place out if you haven't.

It was a pretty park but all the dogs ruined it. There were so many dogs that didn't have leashes and they all tan around sniffing and getting into people's food. My little cousins were afraid of them so the entire they were screaming or crying. Someone really needs to do something about the dogs.

Nice Park with long walkways. Food Festival is held here at the end of the summer. Food prices were ridiculous though. Sometimes good entertainers perform. On most days it's a quiet place.

Everyone says good morning or gives a friendly nod. Paved path is smooth and clean, with very few cracks or bumps. I've only made it to the 3k marker so far. It is such a peaceful, pretty place to get away and with waterways on both sides of the path there are plenty of places to explore.

one of the nicest parks welland has to offer. it has a fairly new playground that is in a nice shaded area. there is a long path that loops down to the end of the island and back for people to walk along or go riding on. it is fairly well lit at night time aswell. there is also many different spots along the shoreline to go fishing and swimming if you choose to do so.

My family came for the playground but found a few components of the structure semi unsafe from the hard packed gravel base, the spinning wheel that you can smash into metal posts or fall on your neck, odd teeter totter, zipline that even some adults couldn't reach, a slippery ladder. Sigh. The park is in a great location and needs some $ to make it the jewel it can be. The canal trails do look nice.

Great place to take the children to enjoy the playground, burn off a few calories on the wide paved path or just taking a relaxing stroll. Weather there's a lot of people or hardly a soul, there's lots of space to feel comfortable. Also, there are bathrooms.

This is a great park where you can have a picnic and go fishing. There is a 3 km paved trail good for biking. Took about 25-40 mins round trip riding the bike depending on your speed. Plenty of free parking available consider it was a weekend. There is also a playground for the little kids. Clean air-conditioned washrooms are available.

Great place to connect with nature in the heart of the city! The only reason to deduct one star is the amount of dog poo revealed by melting snow, including a lot of poo in bags abandoned all over the grass instead of in the receptacles.

There is a quiet and serene sense to this place where you can have a nice nature walk on the path, or bring a cup of coffee and have some solitude. Or you can meet a friend there and have an enjoyable chat while overlooking the still water. You could bring the family for a fun picnic and the kids can enjoy playing in the playground. There's even a couple of fishing spots there. There's lots to see. Lots of clean fresh air to breath in. A terrific place to contemplate life, love, self, whatever.
