Skaha Lake is by far the best lake in Penticton! There's tons of space if you want to be on the sand or up on the grass. A great place for the entire family! There are basketball courts to choose from and a concession if you get snacky!

There is much to do in the summer. Ice cream, lunch, beach and playgrounds. There's even a 1k walking path right down the middle. Lots of parking and fun all day!!

Something for everyone. A playground next to a water splash pad. Paved walking, running and cycling paths. Basketball hoops, street hockey court, work out equipment, concession stands and more. Not to mention the sandy beach, great for swimming, paddle board and boat rentals available. Another great natural playground for kids and adults near the tennis courts and main concession. Check it all out!

Best lake in the area. Always a nice breeze blowing in the summer. Sand is of good quality on the beach and there are plenty of trees to lend shade and snooze under on a hot summer day. Not the cleanest of change rooms and snack shop doesn't have very much in the way of healthy items. Tennis courts, basketball courts, outdoor theatre, body weight exercise machines and children's playground all make it a great place to relax away the day. Great place

My family and I loved this beautiful place, nice hotels, the view and calm you get sitting on the benches front of the super nice park is amazing.. the beach is so clean golden color sand with no rocks in it, makes a very pleasant walk. Can't wait to go back. ❤ it!!

Best beach in Penticton for families. The sand was nice and relatively smooth, there was enough space (during the week) so that it didnt feel too crowded. There are nice park benches, playgrounds and delicious ice cream shops.

Such a beautiful area! There’s tons to walk around and see, get nice and close up to the lake and even boat rentals! If there is an event going on around or at the park, parking can be hard to find and you pretty much rely on street parking.

This park is beautiful with something for everyone. There is a sandy beach, fresh water lake, work out area, kids water park, baseball diamonds, a basketball court and beach volleyball. There are many picnic tables, shady spots under the trees and a beautiful gazebo (?) built by local Rotarians.

The beach in south Penticton is amazing!! Beautiful white sand (not Rocky at all like most bc lakes) water was the perfect temp for a cool off in mid August. Very similar feel to Lake Huron for all the Ontarians out there.

Very nice beach, splash pads for the kids, lots of playgrounds nearby. Water was warm and shallow enough for the kids to wade out fairly far. For a Saturday, there was a lot of room.

One the nicest lake beaches ever. Very clean and very few commercial places. Launch your paddle board or kayak anywhere in the area. Swimmers have a bouyed safety zone. Lots or parking in lots at both ends. Very family oriented.

A beautiful lake and a well kept park. It's often very busy and can be hard to find a spot to park and set up on the beach but it's worth it. There is well highlighted drop offs and lots of shallow spots for children. The ducks are very humanized and will walk right up to you if you have food.

Love this park, I just can't help think it just needs something more. Good activity and recreation area. Some real sketchy people around after 10pm. Worth hanging out on a nice sunny day. Good for Pokémon Go.

Big playground with a variety of structures for different age groups. Also has a spray park that kids can activate on a switch. There are also paved paths surrounding the entire playground that are ideal for any new bike riders to practice their skills. The only downside is the concession nearby has an extremely limited selection. The ice cream is nice but if you’re planning to spend a good part of the day here make sure to pack a lunch.

This is a great beach area. Good sand, lots of activities for kids and adults such as little slides in the water, tennis courts and beach volleyball areas. Also good walking and biking surfaces. It is a very long beach which helps it seem not crowded aven though it is quite popular.

This is a beautiful beach red sand as well as a grassy area. Lots of picnic tables, a couple of concessions and places to rent boats, SUPS and kayaks. A couple of vendors there as well as pub at the far end. Family friendly with washrooms and change rooms. A great place to enjoy beautiful Okangan lake!

Nice park with sandy beach on lake Skaha. There swimming area is well indicated. Although I did not see any lifeguards on duty (I might be wrong about this). There is also a large grass area for a picnic. No BBQ areas though, not sure if this was intentional.

Beautiful Park very well maintained. Great sand and water access for young children and good facilities all round. Penticton has done a superb job in building the parks and waterfronts and cl Has parking close to the beach. The beach was full but there was still larking to be had. The only negative I found, there is no inside or outside foot shower to wash sand off feet.

Maria is a wonderful host. The site is adequate. We've been coming here for years and were disappointed to learn that they are selling after 35 years and townhouses will be replacing what was a long running traditional camp spot for us and many other families.

Always a lovely time at Skaha beach.There's two parks to play in, large open grassy areas, the splash pad, board walk, two ice cream shops, two sets of public bathrooms/change rooms a couple open year round, picnic benches, benches, Pavillion, sundial, lake front sandy beach, docks, fire pits, basketball court, boat marina, beach volleyball courts, outdoor exercise equipment, baseball field and diamonds, gated hockey/lacrosse court, gated tennis court. Free parking which isn't terrible to find a spot. The park is big enough that you can find a private space for your group, but still be close to everything. The park is also smoke free.

This is a favorite place to walk along the lakeshore. The views change hourly and the wildlife is interesting at times. Best beach to be at if the wing is from the north. The trails are all easy and you can walk a short loop or even a 3km loop. Kids love the waterpark and play equipment.

Haven't been to a nicer beach since San Diego! The beach is immaculate - all sand and no rocks! The water was a little on the cool side consider it is the Okanagan but it is crystal clear! Amazing beach!

A must see for tourists. At Okanagan lake in Penticton you can float down the Channel in a safe flotation device and arrive on Skaha beach. You can just drive to the park as well.

Beautiful lake to go to. The parking situation there is very confusing and I wouldn't believe tourists have an easy time maneuvering in this mess. Either way once you find parking you are good to go. The public bathrooms are clean.

One of the best beaches in the Okanagan. Nice light colored sand (not quite white but as close as you will get in Canada), there is a concession stand called Tickleberries, and there is the best ice cream there too. Nice park area with benches, a marina with rentals and a new restaurant with a patio on the water that should be open by now. Definitely one of my favorite places to spend time in the sunshine in Penticton.

I love the location of this park. It's close to beautiful Skaha Park and Beach, at the quiet end of Penticton. Close to swimming, a kiddy park, marina, snack food and drinks. Also a grassy area with picnic tables. The hostess is excellent, the park and the bathrooms are clean. Sites are a little tight.

Beautiful park. Right on the beach! There is a huge spread out play ground with lots of swings and slides and a toy house. Also tight ropes (which is both fun for child AND adult) great place to hangout on a spring/summer day. My wife and i love this park! We walk our dog here yearround. Several nice beaches, lots of green space for picnics, a small marina, 3 tennis courts, 7 really great sandy beach volleyball courts, and several area for kids. We moved to the south end of Penticton just to be near the park. In my opinion it is the best place in town for a variety of free outdoor activities. As an added bonus you can fish for bass just a few minutes walk from the park! A few large wind storms knocked down a lot of big old trees a few years back but the city did a nice job replacing those with a variety of trees that are maturing nicely.

This is one of the most pristine, functional lakefront parks you'll find. It offers a large clean, red sand beach, fire pits seasonal, public washrooms (handicap as well), dog friendly areas and free doogie-doo bags for the convenience of walking your dog and picking up after its duty is done to keep the park clean. A vast area of green space, including picnic tables, volleyball nets, tennis courts and kid's playgrounds. Ample parking, including handicapped spaces, a concession stand during summer months, a very large gazebo for local musicians/bands for music in the park, trees beautify the area as well. It offers a wide, paved boardwalk (with many park benches and streetlighting) that extends from one end of the beach to the other, covering the entire beach front and is used extensively and also allows evening walking. You'll see many ducks, Canada geese and seagulls in this area, so bring along some mixed grains and seeds to feed them. The only reason I gave this park a 4 out of 5 stars is because the concession stand is only open in summer months, so if you plan to spend an afternoon in the park, you'll have to bring your own hydration and food.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. Very well maintained, the facilities are always clean and the rangers are easy to get along with. To new visitors: please keep your dogs on leash! The park is considering banning dogs altogether if they continue to find people with their pooches off leash, and that would be a shame for everyone. Also, a huge thanks to the skaha park watch society for providing security for the lot and preventing theft.

What an awesome place! There are TWO great playgrounds - one that has been nicely set up with natural components and the other with LOTS of equipment for all young or young-at-heart ages!! Loved it, and so did the kids. You can do so much all in one place. I was impressed. It was awesome. I love the nature feel of it. The natural park, earthy climbing structures, slides, swings. They even had one of those cool baby-adult attached swings. A place for scooters, bikes, huge areas for soccer, tennis courts, the beach, bathrooms, seasonal conssesion. Lot of space and places to picnic on the grass, bench or table. Parking is really close in case you need to make quick trips to the car and back. We will definitely be coming back.

Well manicured and cared for by the City. There are fire pits on the beach but only a couple of them so good luck, the city has a fire ordinance and only propane fire bowls are allowed. There are lots of ducks that eat the grass but there are also lots of duck droppings. The play park is nice.

We've been going here for the past 3 years. We even got the opportunity to see a doe and a set of twins late one evening as we walked back from the other side of the lake. And the campground we stayed at was fun. Could've done without the kids playing Marco polo though.

Beautiful public park, on Skaha lake plenty of grass area for picnics safe sandy beach playgrounds and waterpark for children. Boathouse and boat launch concession stands plenty of parking at both ends and in middle. Quiet walk during all seasons although quite busy June to September Don't go in winter if South wind blowing.

This is a quiet, clean and beautiful sandy beach, which is wheelchair and stroller friendly. There are paved walkways, trees and shaded grass areas, picnic tables and benches, a concession stand, and public washrooms. The water is clean and perfect for swimming. Comfortable for everyone on a hot, sunny day!

Such a long beautiful beach with soft sand, even in the water. Lots of room to space out even with lots of people being there. Picnic tables are available and playgrounds for the kids. And grassy space for games. We love an afternoon there.

Use to be very pristine. Now docks are littered with bird poo in morning and bandaids and garbage in water. Penticton use to take care of this beach....... now not so much anymore.

The marina boat launch is a gong show, some people know how it works, line up launch boat go park ,depart quickly, have your boat loaded, straps off ,don't diddle around and be unorganized wasting all the other people waitings time. On way out of water go get vehicle and trailer, line up ,back in when its your turn, have your boat driven in by a second person if you can ,get it on trailer pull out, dry off and diddle around away from the ramp area and approach! I witnessed near fistfights between tourists and locals ,hot heads swearing at each other ,as the procedure is not really well posted, common sense prevails amongst those who are courteous . The warf needs to be longer so a boat can hold while the other boat is being pulled out ( like Okanagan Marina) I talked to several people who all felt the same ( unorganized gong show!)

Wonderful sandy beach, children's waterpark and playground, lots of space for laying out your beach towel, clean water, volleyball nets, restrooms, relaxed atmosphere, perfect location for all ages. In my opinion, a better option than the northern beach.

Lots of trees and grassy areas. Picnic tables are shaded and spread out so you can enjoy yourself without bothering others. The park is right on Skaha beach. There is a concession stand nearby with change rooms and full service washrooms. Plenty of parking as well. There is a promenade that extends the length of the beach. There are play structures for kids as well.

Big wide open Beachs. Tickleberrys ice cream is set up on the beach in two locations. Beach is sandy, shallow for quite a ways out into the water

Great place, nice beaches. Has boat rentals and ice cream shops. The sand is very dusty though, and you don't want to get stuck on the beach when the wildfires are active as the smoke will be pushed towards you by the winds and have a unhealthy smell.

Great park for a hike but primarily used by climbers. During the summer months there's an "anti car theft" attendant to put your mind at ease. There are outhouse but no other facilities to speak of. BRING LOTS OF WATER!
