This Park is included in the category of City park.
Great park and beach but for visitors the parking is $50 flat day rate no option to park for a couple hours.
Water is very nice, little bit of seaweed. Walking the trail around the park is beautiful with lots of hardwood trees, and occasionally you can see turtles.
This is how a small municipality does Waterfront RIGHT! Bike and walking trails, a clean sandy beach with guards, an awesome splashpad and playground, plus quiet picnic areas all along the way.
Very popular place right now for free parking, and accessibility to lake couchaching for some fun icefishing for perch, pike and muskie, OH YA !
Awesome place to enjoy. You have beach, park, food trucks, and lots of fun.
Beautiful park, beautiful scenery. Went for a baseball game and the town hasn't done any work to the park and then they gave parking tickets which makes no sense!
Pay 50$ For nothing! No cooking-No bbq-Dirty washroom, small beach, unclear water,... So charge 50$ for what?!! If you’re not Local you should park far from beach and locals react like you shouldn’t be there!!!Declare this prohibition on your website!!!
Excellent park for riding bike, picnic, fishing or swimming. Very clean and well maintained. The water was very warm in mid August. There is quite a bit of a walk from parking lot if you are picnicking and have a lot of stuff to carry.
Such a beautiful park! Fun for kids, tons of benches, picnic tables, and green space. There's a volleyball court and baseball diamond too.
Beautiful park by the water.
Nice park with playgrounds, splash pad, beach with lifeguards, bike pump and repair station, along the pathway system along the water. Has an ice cream and food store. Parking is a little confusing but we went during the week so it was free and lots of it.
A wonderful view of the waters of Lake couch. Good if you have small children as the beach and playground area is nice. Not a lot to do here otherwise. But pretty.
Paved walking trails, washrooms, supervised swim area and beach. Well maintained, cleaned up thoroughly after Mariposa Music Festival. Public camping would be nice, the space is available.
Tudhope park & splash pad, itself are pretty nice to play at, for the kids. The beach on the other hand... during the summer is mostly closed do to a high bacteria count.
City of Orillia is charging $50 for parking at these public parks for non residents. It was a pretty unpleasant experience for us visiting Orillia on 15 Aug 2020. First we drove around 2 hours early morning to find out we could not get into MacRae Point park as the park was full around 830 in the morning. We were 5 families with precooked food and everything so decided to have our picnic in one of Orillia's public parks. We found out that city of Orillia is ripping people off by charging $50 per vehicle parking. We paid and then later to our surprise we could not even warm our food up as there was no cooking/warming up of food allowed on flame. So we had to gulp down our frozen food somehow. Same time last year when we visited, we were able to do our BBQ in the same Tudhope park. Over all it was a horrible experience visiting Orillia so anyone planning to visit there as a non resident for a picnic should at least think twice.
I've been here the past 3 years in July for Mariposa Folk Festival. It is a nice clean park surrounded by water on multiple sides with swimming beaches. There is a brand new facilities building with washrooms and water fountains for humans and dogs.
Tons of parking, beach, playground equipment and trails. Amazing spot. Great fry truck on site too.
A beautiful park and bike trail.
Exceptional public park with splash pad, beach and playground. It has a little burger/fry truck as well as an ice cream shack that has many flavours, including some vegan choices. Also on-site is a kayak and SUP rental. The waters are shallow, which is great for kids as well as new SUP'ers. When you're done, you're minutes from downtown Orillia and all the amenities this quaint city has to offer (think Mariposa Market).
I could move to Orillia based on their parks..this one a little less crowded than the other one (couchiching?) and equally as awesome!
Nostalgia aside - lately ( last decade ) the city seemed to remember that Tudhope Park ( Moose beach ) exists. There have been some new playground additions but there is a certain kind of apathy and neglect that keeps this beach from being truly great. I dont know how else to articulate but it FEELS like second best or the fall back beach compared to dear ol Couch beach. The lightfoot trail is nice but doesnt end anywhere interesting ( a hotel ). Also the dead busineses along the highway are a little sad.
The children's park is much improved with a water oark and the water is great for wading. Lots of area to go walking, biking, and enjoy a nice break from the hectic pace of life.
Surprisingly but water in Couchiching is way warmer than Simcoe lake, clean and well maintained area, with splash work area for children, food + ice cream, and kayak rentals is also available. Huge drawback is the visitors parking lot is behind the baseball field which I find unfair and unwelcome, simply because if visitors pay for the parking then they should get a bit closer spots, considering that not so many are coming.
TUPHOPE PARK: A Very EXTENSIVE Park boasting spacious Lawns, Trails, Playgrounds for kids, Food Trucks with Tables nearby, Benches throughout, big Parking Lot, building with Washrooms, and OFCOURSE an Amazing BEACH!!!!! * LOTS to Do for the WHOLE Family!!! * • TRAILS: (run horizontal to waterfront) Any walk, jog, &/or bike ride, along their spacious TRAILS will be enjoyable!! • WATER/BEACH AREA: (swim area is roped off, has attached sandy beach). It's a GREAT place to enjoy a swim, read a book, relax, build sandcastles, &/or just play with friends & cool off!!
Parks great, I live 25 mins away and have been coming here almost 10 years.
Tudhope Park is a wonderful place to visit. We love going to Moose Beach as a family after supper as the beach gets the evening sun. Water is lovely. Sandy. Beach is kept clean. Precautions in place to help provide the ability to have safe social distancing.
Love the ⛱. Calm water not too deep where kids can fun without fear of drowning and big waves coming...throughly enjoyed our trip. Ppl followed the social distancing rule 2 life guards were there.
Was fun, nice water park. Beach is a little busy.
Best splash pad I've ever been to with the kids. When you add the park equipment, trails and the beach it's a no brainer.
Such a nice park! You’ll find everything there: play structures, splash pad, beach, green space, walking paths, volleyball court… and even an ice cream shop! The play structure for toddlers is AMAZING. I’ve never seen such a well thought and age appropriate structure. My almost 2 and 3 years old daughters had the time of their life playing there.
Beautiful park, great in the fall. Nice walkways, bike paths and plenty of photo worthy spots. Can easily spend a few hours relaxing here.
hostile local people against any visitors + $50 parking fee for any parks of Orillia for non resident of the town. You'd better stay away from this town unless you are resident.
City of Orillia is charging $50 for parking at these public parks for non residents. Flat rate
Very beautiful park for long walks in summertime
It's a most fantastic park in Orillia.
Very pretty and flat place to walk with my humans. Paved trails that wind around waters edge. See lots of runners, walkers, other dogs. Lots of benches and tables to rest.
Great park. We visited in winter for ice fishing. Lots of parking and close to the lake. Fishing went well and caught a few perch using minnows.
Nicely laid out park with nearby beach and ample parking. The trail-all flat- going around the park is paved, giving even those with mobility issues a chance to enjoy the park.
Following the stage two opening up of the province it appears that the Orillia recreation department has placed some picnic tables throughout the park for safe social distancing to happen which is a welcome sight. As always Tudhope Park remains a very convenient and beautiful location for not only baseball, walking or playground play but just sitting around the shores of Lake Couchiching in all four seasons. It may be a while before it’s back in full operation however the recent changes are a nice way to get back to normal.
Beautiful Park! Still confused as to why there's a Splash Pad 10 feet from the lake LOL
Great play area, close to the beach. Kids enjoyed it.
Perfect place with splashpad, beach, bike trail, kids play area, kayak. Kids will have lot of fun.
This place is actually bigger than it looks, with nice waterfront views all around, it's just hidden by a baseball diamond and a community centre. Lots of little animal friends like squirrels and chipmunks call this place home.
Beautiful now!
Fun park for the kids if your going for a cruise along the waterfront
A wonderful day at the beach. Nice sandy Beach, warm water. Washrooms clean and open. Splash pad was open. Parking took some time and patience. Wasn't too crowded so distancing wasn't a problem. Mostly young families like ours.
It's a beautiful park
A lovely and quiet family park with a nice splash pad for kids. If you think Couchiching beach park place is packed , then this is the best location in Orillia. Enjoy your icecream and spalsh on Water park
Nice little park by the side of a beach. Good for family with kids
I always love coming here. sunsets are great nice trail. Water is warm!
Nice walking path. Nice view along the lake.
It's a nice park, has a splash pad and water course. It has a nice paved path to walk or jog along. It can be buggy at times. It is a good park.
Love how clean this park is. My only complaint would be that when kids are playing in the park seating is a bit far. My almost nine month pregnant daughter was stuck standing most of the time. The splash pad is fantastic!
Nice big splash pad and a playground for the little kids as well as a nice sandy beach by the lake. Washrooms available. Lots of parking. A few more shady spots would be nice.
Beautiful day. Smobiles everywhere. Food shack was open. Best burgers we've had outside on a winter day. Busy place.
Absolutely the best spot to be with little ones as you can easily find them near you, near sand beach or splash pad
Great trails along the waterfront, playground and splash pad for the kids, ample parking and beach access.
The park is great, really beautiful view of lake Simcoe. Really it should be a 5 star rating from me, if not for the parking. Visitors from outside Orillia cannot park in the main parking. Fair enough, that makes sense. The visitor parking is paid, again that makes sense. What's the rate? A flat 50 dollars. You park for a minute or the whole day it's flat 50 dollars. Anyway once I parked somewhere else and was actually in the park it's beautiful.
It is a nice place, but please be aware that the municipality ticket every non-local vehicle on the parking lot, every if it's half empty, you can not visit the place. I've seen 7 of 10 vehicle got ticket on the parking lot. Don't go there 2021!
Orillia is closing facilities to people not from Orillia and Charging $50 for parking which is illegal price gauging - I will avoid all tourism to Orillia area (now and future) based on their prejudice against out of towners
Great park for water fun! A good size splash pad, a large regularly cleaned beach with a playground, washrooms, and plenty of shade if you need a break from the sun. Enjoy!
Excellent as always. It was a beautiful day for a walk. The sun was shining and everyone was happy to be outside. The leaves are slowly leaving but still look good. This is my go to park, when I need to clear my head and mind. ????????♥️????
Beautiful park with amazing views of the lake. Have seat to rest on one of many benches and picnic tables in the park.
Had a Great time out on the lake ice fishing. Didn't catch any fish this time but the weather was Awesome!
Visitors beware! Predatory parking practices, with ridiculously large fines for non-residents ($100 for 30 minute walk), make this town and the park unwelcoming as a destination.
Excellent park for kids. It has a playground, splash pad and beach all in one place. Plus nice walking trails around. Plus free parking!
Kids had a blast. Lots of fun. We will be back!
Good food, great staff. Nice place to go.
Always a beautiful place to enjoy a walk next to the lake. Or a quick swim at the beach. Or Bbq, play catch, bike ride... just get outdoors!!!
Great place for walking and just sitting and enjoying the view or a good book! It is a paved trail and loops around. Plus it has beautiful views of the water! Highly recommend this place!
One of the parks I went to frequently when i was a kid. Swimming was great and the playground is really nice for the kids. The walking trail is in good shape and beautiful as well.
Very nice park but the parking is so expensive for people coming outside the city , l got a 100$ ticket a minute after l parked my car. I didnt even get a chance to purchase the parking permit.
Fantastic park with lots of great walking trails. Be very careful as many of the cyclists are disrespectful of pedestrians. I was hit by one who shouted way to late that they were behind not sure why as the other path was clear however they prefered to cycle side by side! Sadly, during these times of COVID safe practicing is not apparent in the washrooms. In the gents all urinals are open but dirty and zero control seems apparent. Finally, if you are a "visitor" as opposed to a resident be very careful when you go there. There is $50 flat rate parking fee on Fridays to Monday plus bank holidays and to be honest there just isn't anything there to justify this extortionate fee.
One of the most beautiful and walkable and scenic parks you will find anywhere, abutting three Bays on Lake Couchiching beautiful mixed forest trees and a paved walkway to boot, all within City of Orillia.
Out of Town people avoid, they're not allowing parking for non-residents effectively barring tourism in this park. All the nearby streets also require a local permit to park as well. I heard there was some limited parking, but for $50 per day, a bit excessive.
Love this place in the winter and summer! Amazing for walking the dog and clearing your mind! Just watch out for snakes!
Park is clean an dwell taken care. However, they only like the local residents to use it. Outsiders have to pay hefty fine if you park there or $50 parking fee to park at designated parking spot for Outsiders. No Bbqing is allowed at the park, which I have never seen anywhere else.
Great park with trails for biking, jogging, roller blading. Pets welcomed if on a leash only. No pets allowed in the central/ main Beach but can go into water at other smaller beaches down the trails. Change rooms and washrooms. Great water park play area, climbing and slide equip, benches and tables for resting and eating. Very relaxing for families.
Beautiful little park with a huge monument of Gordon lightfoot
Great place to hit the snowmobe trails from. The Pattie shack there is a quick convenient place grab a quick burger.
