REVIEWS OF Mono Cliffs Provincial Park IN Ontario

We enjoyed our day out at the cliffs, didn't realize how steep the trails are on the one side, it was quite the hike. It was quiet and peaceful, and there were so many things to see if you keep your eyes open! Some flowers and butterflies or moths are smaller than a dime!!

J Kim

Enjoyable hike with one small part of it being a nice and a little challenging walk up the zigzag hill. Would've given a 4 star if it had nicer views. Overall a pleasant hike

There are limited booking for the parking. The Town does not welcome road side parking anywhere close. It was quite a security issue and nuisance to the locals. Tickets have been issued heavily all the time. Please try other countryside having facilities better managed catering to the wide populace thirst for leisure getaway.

House of Michelle

It’s a nice place for trail, very easy for beginner level. If parking at the west of the park, it only takes minutes walk to the cliff top viewing platform, but might take longer time lining up if you want to take a picture there.

Lapsy Kevreki

Nice park , with easy hiking trails but slippery due to light snow. This kettle lake was formed as a result of melting glaciers.

Yuri Sheptikita

Right place to burn calories. Hike, bike or horse ride trails available. Some little lakes and waterfalls along trails. Be ready for some elevation during hike. In the woods you will get warm greeting from mosquitos. Do not feed them! Portion of trails has fence protecting wildlife from invasion species such as humans. Park is very clean and well maintained. Picnic area at parking lot.

Timothy Weatherall

Easy to get to, great parking, nice views. Would need more scenery or amenities to increase rating. Pay machine for parking taked 5 mins per transaction, so was very irritating on a busy day.

Ed Opitz

Similar to Mt. Nemo, a walk along Escarpment cliffs; unlike Mt. Nemo, fewer vantage points but more "developed" IMHO with stairs and such; also, more varied trails in the forests and reclaimed farmland down below. We enjoyed it.

Sehrish Rizvi

Beautiful trail and beautiful drive along the way! But to get to the lookout scenic views the hike is a bit rough and steep for elderly and toddlers. If you're into hiking, definitely recommend this trail!

jane Li

There are many side trails besides the main trail. It has lots of varieties, one of the trail called South Outlier Trial has one challenging steep path, it's fun to hike indeed. Overall it's small elevation while going up, but coming down the cliff is quite easy. Many children and dogs came to the trail when we went there. I'd say it's toddlers-friendly trail. Coming during fall season is the best, as you'll be able to see the changing leaves, and consider the drive, it's about an hour from GTA, it's easier to go here than to Algonquin (given you have young kids). It's pretty to see the Mono Cliff too. If you don't go on the stairs, strollers can be used too but it may be muddy if it's a bit humid there.

Kim K

Good 4 hiking and amazing views , jis not properly guided though & very small paid parking

Kaloyan Bankov

This place is simply amazing! There are easy to moderate difficulty trails, it is kids friendly place with amazing views and plenty of small lakes. The parking for a full day is $15. There are washrooms next to the parking and about 30 mins into the 'main' trail. It is super easy to trasspass into private property so please respect the signs.

Gorgeous park with a wonderfully lush forest to explore in between lovely cliff-top views. We saw lots of wildlife: garter snake, frog, snapping turtle, and 10 - I repeat, TEN - hawks circling overhead at once. Be sure to arrive early. We got there at 10:00 AM on a Monday and there were only 8 cars in the parking lot. By the time we left around 2:00, there were easily 50 cars. We also noticed many more people on the trails towards the end of our hike. Also be warned that there is terrible cell reception in the parking lot. I don't consider this to be a bad thing, but it's worth noting. With the close proximity to Toronto, easy hiking trails, and the dining views, Mono Cliffs is an easy recommendation for anyone in the city looking for their nature fix.

vipin kv

Multiple trails, good for walking and hiking..didn’t find anything extraordinary..the usual..went there during Victoria Day long weekend, had problem with car parking. Cars parked outside were fined $50, fortunately we got a space inside. Trials can be a little too much for kids..

Amanda Santiago

So far I've visited Mono Cliffs during the Summer, Winter and Fall season. I enjoy the walks here every time. During the Summer season the insects are intense but bug spray is helpful. It's beautiful and peaceful during the Winter because it isn't super busy, especially during the weekday. I'd recommend going early in the Fall as the leaving are changing colours, to enjoy the Fall scenery.

Nandan Vaidya

Decent place for a leisure hike. It has some nice view points on the way. Make sure you book the parking spot online before going here(phone reception isn't that good here). And they're working on fixing the parking ticket booth (doesn'twork currently). Keep in mind to put mono cliffs parking when you are using google maps for directions (3rd line EHS road); if you put mono cliffs provincial park, it'll take you to wrong spot.

Brenton Richards

There is no clear mapping atbthe park. So finding specific spot you may want to go to is very difficult. Unless your up for walking my the entire park. Nonetheless, like many provincial parks, the environment is stunning.

Fel G

Lots of walking but not much to see compared to Singhampton, which was very adventurous.

William McPherson

It was a great place to take the family for a walk. We all enjoyed the fall colors. Trails were well marked and very clean to walk. Granted we only did two trail loops still would highly recommend this place.

Zarak Nadeem

A lovely place filled with picturesque scenery! Theres multiple trails and usually takes around 50 min to an hour to get from the bottom to the top so be sure to pack snacks and water!

Dalton Moreau

Lots of fun trails and beautiful sights. Very easy to get lost but sometimes you find cool stuff when you do.

Maria M

Spectacular and beautiful ????, I’m happy that I visited there at the right time, as I came back one week later and there was no leaves on trees ???? The parking payment machine was very slow though, it took almost 10 minutes to connect and print the ticket.

Kuljot Grewal

Nice park with multiple trails and stunning views, specially during fall season with colors. The main spot is the lookout point on the north side of the lookout trail. Pls note that the cell phone reception is not there in most parts of the park, it could be a good or bad for some people. Also as there are many trails and they intersect each other many times.. so pls keep map with you (take picture of the maps posted in the park)

hayhay ?

Large Park with lots of trails. But the trail names are not clearly displayed and you can get lost very easy.

Zeno Ben Sunny

You cannot call it the best, but an average park to spend time and to walk. It was overcrowded when I went there first (I think it was cz of the hype from the Instagram reel), but was totally deserted when went their after almost a month. The guards in here are so friendly and guides us well through and are well aware of the routes in the park. Be careful if you have any allergies of worm ???? or insects! Will encounter many en route! Also, if you are planning to visit and has no parking spots available, DO NOT park on the street/road, parking enforcement is in effect!

Trina M

Beautiful, well kept trails. Be sure to bring $7.50 for parking for 4 hours. (No less expensive option as it is a provincial park) in change... or they take Visa/MC (no debit) at the pay and display machine. Trails are very well marked.

Ainsworth The Musician

Great trails very well groomed and marked. Beautiful and diverse landscape. Would recommend highly to anyone who enjoys an easy to moderate level hike. Even has washrooms mid trail. (A first for me personally) I could see parts being buggy earlier in the summer or late spring but in August this was a perfect morning to early afternoon activity. Dont be lazy, go check it out.

Simon Howe

Beautiful winter scene. Very gentle, nice and flat walk. There's a 5k bruce trail side trail, one of the best winter hikes we've taken.

K W

Nice area with long trails. Suitable for horses as well, so becareful where you step in certain cases. The overlook it's nice and there's a lake and streams. Large basic path, but also some challenging paths that you can take. Overall, decent, but can be crowded during the fall.

Bardia Sanati

Nice lookouts and cliff pathways. Yet, maps and signs along the trails could use some more clarity.

Colin Dickie

Gorgeous nature walk. Lots of shade. Not a difficult walk but bring water. My 7 yr old hiked an hour and a half with us. Lots of place to stop and enjoy the views. I recommend this place and I will be back.

Surya Arun Kumar

Very good spot to see fall colour, if you are searching for some place near Brampton. Its a 50 mins drive from brampton and its a little bit difficult hiking trial. A total of 5 kms hike starting from parking lot, up the lookout point and back to parking lot. Definitely worth going up there. The entire way if filled with fall color so you will enjoy a lot. There is no signal once you go inside so better download the map before you start. Washroom are worst.

Dileep Reddy

Beautiful place, lots of trails. Could Be a perfect full day outing.

Swetha Murari

A great place for hiking with little bit of challenges. Parking spots ($7.50) available that can be pre-booked online. Washrooms are not that great and is available only at the Parking entrance. Visiting this place early in the morning is better to avoid crowd. The trails can be a bit confusing due to lack of clear directions. Best advice is to download the All trails app during the hike to avoid getting lost.

Leeran Markizano

I really loved these trails. There wasn't many people. The trails were clean with no garbage around. Many maps to help show you where you are and overall a lot of easy to moderate hiking trails. If you do the full cir le it's about 8.7 km but you can enjoy and do many different ones if your with your dog or your kids. Would highy reccomend this trail.

Alexander Daunan

This provincial park is free to use, no admission fee. But you have to pay for the parking lot. The parking lot can take about 100 cars. You can pay $7.50 for 4 hours or $12 for a day. There's 6 public washrooms in the parking lot. This park is only for day use, not for camping. There are several hiking trails, but the Clifftop trail is very recommended. Almost all of the trail has medium to hard difficulty. Be sure to wear a proper hiking shoes and some water/electrolyte for replenishment. A bug repellent also good to bring. In some trails, there will be a steep route or a lot of steps. Be prepared.

Lidia D'Onofrio-Saieh

Great trails and great for hiking but they need to map out their trails better. It's easy to get lost

H

Great trails and they're well maintained. Follow the "viewing platform" signs if you are here for a quick photoshoot that you see on social media. It's located on the Green trail/Cliff Top side trail. If you want a longer hike, you can keep going north towards the grey trail/Lookout trail then come back south towards the viewing platform. 2 washrooms, one at the parking, another in the middle of the park. Not the cleanest so bring water/sanitizing wipe/hand sanitizer. Google would take you to a dead end on the 2nd Line E but the actual parking is located on the other side of the park on the 3rd Line E. Follow the signs on the road when you get close to the park, not Google map. The officers come by often and saw many cars getting tickets. Also you need a reservation to get in during covid. **Edit** Edit on the location was approved by Google and Google map should take you to the correct parking now. Just make sure that you go on the 3rd Line E.

T. Lee

Great park for hiking and biking. Well worth the time to explore and take in nature. The trails look well maintained and wide. If your going for the scenic cliff section ..... just a heads up so there is no disappointment, it is just a small section.

Felix L

Fun place to hike and to check out the unique cliffs and stairs that its famous for. It’s a little easy to get lost if you’re not sure what you’re looking for though, so a map is useful especially if you’re trying to find the stairs area

Jen Vaughn

Great spot not too far from Toronto. We did the South Outlier Loop trail with a 7 and 9 year old and everyone did okay but we were tired by the end. The trail was great, a bit rougher than what you get somewhere like Rouge Valley but still easily passable in sneakers. It was beautiful but you'll be looking at forest, not scenic vistas. Not too many bugs either. There are restroom near the parking lots (paid).

Lexi Sheng

Love the view there! This place to me is so much better than Algonquin

Sana

Came here Thanksgiving 2020. Easy hike - good hike for the whole family. Great fall views at the top! Highly recommend!

Goutham Peepala

Was a great place to spend an evening with friends hiking. Couldn't finish most of the trails but should've started early and knowing the place is so beautiful will be definitely planning a second time.

Rachel Cheung

Would recommend that you reserve online to avoid crowds. Easy to navigate as almost all the trails had markers and a map. The different incline and decline made the hike interesting and challenging. They had a beautiful viewing platform in the middle, worth a visit!

A T

Visited on weekend.. we had a Park pass but had to also book space online.. which we did from there .. (the cell reception is poor there. so we decided to have lunch while we get the cell service for registration). Lovely Park for trails, wish there were more signs. Huge tall skinny trees on trail.. good for hot day. The drive from Mississauga to Mono Cliffs was relaxing.

Raluca M

Beautiful place. Definitely you need to go early in the day, otherwise it gets packed. The trail is pretty easy. It's not flat, there are some ups and downs but overall easy. The trail is pretty good quality. If you have a small child in stroller, you can't really use the stroller, better to use soft carrier.

Kate B

The place where everyone goes to take pictures is beautiful, but not worth the hype. Instead, get there early in the morning and get lost in the woods. You'll stumble across lakes, beautiful quiet trails and plenty of great places to stop and have a picnic.

Jay Dave

It's a nice getaway just about 45 min from Brampton East. Beautiful route during fall. Free parking. The only downside being that the signage on the trail is not enough. Don't forget to carry a picture of the map. Easy trails overall.

Naureen Jalaluddin

Cons: VERY crowded during the weekends. And the crowds may spoil the fun of you trying to connect with nature. And you'd have to wear a mask all the time. The lines for the lookout point will eat away 30 40 mins of your time. Pros: Very big park and has multiple trails. Child and dog friendly. Washrooms and parking available on location

Our very first time at Mono Cliffs Provincial Park and we expected to park and walk around a small park. What an eye opener this park was. First off the parking lot is huge and the place busy on a Sunday. We made almost a second trip around the lot and then found a spot. Someone leaves someone arrives. We should of packed snacks or a lunch. Trails are just amazingly huge and well worth the trip. We took a few trails and finished 2.5 hours later. So many enjoyable areas with fall views, maple leaves lining the trail floors. We walked up rock steps, walked across wood board walks, down hills, over grass covered trails, relaxed on large rock surfaces, seen incredible views and amazing heights. As I mentioned the parking lot was packed. The trails were so distant with others. We rarely met up with anyone else. Occasionally passed another couple. The area is great for young and old, kids and dogs as long as leashed. Our little dog was so tired out after an hour we carried him but again little, 4 pounds. Loved the stairs going down the cliffside trail. Loved the pond and trees growing on a center island. That was picture perfect. Try these trails at Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, you won't be disappointed. Reading an article of my next adventure and read this paragraph. Make sure to respect the rules of the area during your visit. Adhere to social distancing measures by visiting with a small group and pick up your trash to leave the area just as beautiful as you found it.

ELITE GAMINGZ

Great place to hike. It was clean, and the views are amazing. Person working the parking was nice and explained how to book a parking spot.

Tina Sun

Believe me this is one of the best hiking places in town that will suprise you. My friend wanted to go to Dundas Peak and I suggested to go here. Less people and more choices of trails. All trails are labeled clearly, but remember to take a picture of the trail map because you may lost signal at some places.

Jeevan Rissam

Pros: Amazing trails, scenic views and well labelled Cons: No shelter for rain and less places to sit.

Saifullah Ali

Wonderful place. But pretty confusing where to park and which way to enter. Thats what i have experienced: There’s a “T” inter section near The Mono Cliffs inn. Left of the “T” you will get Town of Mono Community center. Locals suggested to Park here and then enter through the blue gate opposite to Mono Cliffs inn. Another option is to go straight towards the right of the “T” (second line Ehs) till the road ends. You can park there road side and enter through the gate. Enjoy ????

Alejandra G

Went on my second winter hike of the year. It was beautiful!! The stairs where slippery, I would recommend using crampons. Trails were not bad at all. Came across two icy spots. Would definitely do this again!

Lily C

Great trails. Easy hike

Polina Karasova

Pretty close old place, but I didn’t find this place extremely interesting. We came in the evening and explored just some main trails. It wasn’t bad, but as it was getting dark it became extremely scary. The good thing is that there are picnic tables, so we managed to make a bbq.

N.W.

Beautiful in the fall ! Nice trail not too challenging but not flat. Just need to avoid peak hours... was packed when we left, besides parking some waiting in a loooong line to go to restroom too

Pamela Apillanes

If it's your first time, I recommend hiking the trails Carriage > Spillway > Walter Tovell and Cliff-Top Slide, beautiful scenery and you'll get to see the popular spot "Jacobs Ladder" for its massive greenish rocks - it's small but cute for pictures. ????

Atelier Ritz

Was very slippery when we got there. Better to wear hiking boots if you want to visit in winter.

Mariella

Went super early in the morning and it wasn't crowded. Even when we left it wasn't crowded. I appreciated that there was a ranger when you come to park to ensure that you've booked your slot time and stuff, buuut if you're going here because the lime covered rocks and stairs on social media, don't bother coming because there isn't much to it. I was excited to see what the hype was about, but when I finally reached it, it was over hyped and there was literally nothing to it. However, if you're an avid hiker, this park offers at least 20km of different trails so you'll never get bored just walking around and taking in your nature surrounding. Also, fun fact! It's about a 10 minute drive to the Rosebud Motel (for those who've seen Schitt's Creek). And if you see a sign for an Antique shop (but more like a house) that serves pumpkin muffins, go check it out! It's an elderly couple who sells AMAZINGGGGG shortbread cookies, pumpkin muffins, and other cookies for $2!!!

arun koshy

Monocliffs is a beautiful place to hit the trails. There are multiple options available depending on your preference . It also links you to the fantastic Bruce trail. Plenty of parking available. During tourist season, you may have to park the cars on the road. If you are planning to grab a bite, you may want to reserve in advance at the monocliff inn. Otherwise you will have to drive to the highway to find restaurants.

Amanda Ditner

Beautiful trails and lovely views! The trails are sandy and soft, and there are a couple well maintained lookouts and platforms.

Brandon H

Amazingly beautiful in the Fall. Trails are kept clean with many signs and markings to keep hikers on the right path!

Rafuishan Dsa

Easy to moderate hike. You can choose to either walk or bike. There are quite a few different trails you can take but I recommend taking the carriage trail which begins at the parking lot/park entrance, go up the stairs and take a right onto the cliff-top side trail, pass the viewing platform and get on the McCarston’s Lake trail. The lake is beautiful. Park is well maintained and clean. Have fun hiking!

Summer Mckay

I love coming to Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, I have come a number of times and I still feel like I am finding new trails. There is different levels of terrain for all levels of hikers. The Cliffs are easy to get to if you are not wanting to complete a hike as well. Lots of view points available. Highly recommended!

Dhany Hariman

An awesome hiking place. Online reservation required to get in, and if you are here for the first time, make sure you download a map so you know which trail you are going to follow. Wifi signal is low in this area so do your research ahead of time

Kereth Collard

Pretty vistas on the cliff-top side trail at the look out. Make sure to venture down the stairs near the lookout out on the cliff-top trail to walk the boardwalk between the rocks. Interesting rock outcroppings. Beautiful colourful leaves in autumn.

Meet Bhavsar

We went to Mono Cliffs in October and the fall colours were decent. We wanted to go around the whole park so I drew a custom trail on the downloadable map which we tried to follow. If you see a wooden gate at the north end of the Spillway Trail it’s actually an entrance to the Walter Tovell trail which leads up to the lookout point. We missed it and ended up on the road... Overall we had a really good time. Would definitely recommend going here for a nature getaway from the city - make sure to come early!

Solange

It's sad that there is now "no parking" signs on the roads around the perimeter of the park. I have been hiking in this park for quite a few years and in all seasons, but not anymore. There is one parking lot, the fee is $15.50 for the day, but unfortunately there are no picnic tables within the park and only two benches that are overlooking the same pond. The washrooms are outhouses, which is fine, but make sure you bring your own hand sanitizer because there is none provided. There is one washrooms facility within the park and one at the parking lot. If you just want to go for the four hours (the cost is $7.50), make sure you are there at either 8am, 12pm or 4pm. The park closes at 8pm

Lijo T

Into the nature. Great trails with proper direction boards, which connects each other. We walked around 13km and explored all of them. 2 parking lots are there, though it's busy during weekends. 4 hr parking would suffice.

Sean Abraham

A provincial park with some nice lookouts and a hiking map positioned in a few places. The map is easy to read and the trails are nice for an evening walk. The GPS took me to the other side of the entrance rather than the main one. So check the map!

Arpan Patel

Really good place to visit within 1 and half hour of drive from Toronto for hiking and viewing points. Need to pay for parking and register your car to visit. That's all you need to do to visit this beautiful place.

Guillaume Couture-Lévesque

Really nice place, gorgeous views and varied trails. Absolutely packed during weekends and afternoons, and I would say about 5% of people wearing masks when they get close to you. A nice place, but maybe not worth it, there's other nice parks nearby.

Nima Dehdari

Very good place for a long walk. Many different trails with different view. Clean and clear water. We will go back again!

Adam D

Parking fills up quickly so get there early. Nice hike nonetheless. Trails are not that busy and provide interesting viewpoints.

Mary Martinez

My husband and I went for a walk in Mono Cliff and took pictures of ponds and the lookout.

Edman Lau

Easy hike, great Fall colours, near GTA.

Michelle K.

Nice trails. The best views require a bit of an uphill hike unless you enter from a different area other than the main parking lot.

Tristan Stanic

This trail is 5 stars normally. Minus 2 because of the crowd. Even though I did my best to avoid. Free parking along 2nd line road at 44°02'27.4"N 80°04'33.0"W which is closest to the lookout platform. In my opinion, coming here for the lookout is a waste of time. This place is OVERCROWED 1km radius around the lookout. If you want to enjoy the hike here, comes early before 9:00AM weekend) to enjoy the lookout where you won't need to wait inline. If the timing of your hike overlap with peak tourist hours (around noon time), you should avoid the main trails which are on the map. Mono tract forest, 2km west from the lookout (or just west of 1st line EHS road) the trails are nice when there is nobody,Because you'll need GPS to find your way there. I use Locus Map. Or the south outlier trail (as named in Mono Cliffs trail map). Avoid the Bruce Trail during peak hours. There are as many people on the trail as in a Toronto street. In general the further from the lookout point, the less crowed the trail is. Cool small cave to visit at N 44° 02.452', W 080° 04.235'

Arthur Krzycki

Great place for a winter walk. Don't forget your snowshoes as there are plenty of great opportunities to use them.

nadia ali

This park is not worth one star. We drove 2 hours to reach disappointment. Online address is wrong, GPS can't locate it and directions around the park are even worse. All visitors were lost roaming around in their cars looking for it. Moreover, the park has worst amenities. No picnic tables, poor washrooms, no clean water, no maps, even some trails are in bad shape. Trees need to be pruned; so that it feels secure to walk in this park. There was just one park ranger checking tickets. He was turning people away to go back, buy tickets and come back because the area does not have internet coverage for mobile phones. If you need help or guidance, there is no-one to help. I did not even feel secure there. Overall, I would not recommend anyone to waste their time and money going there.

John F

Super walking trail with high elevation viewpoints and paths between high rock cliffs.

Adrian Nalundasan

Main trail is closed. Parking is free but ticket booth is closed in the parking lot, but you can get it online or by phone. Unfortunately, there’s no phone signal there, you’ll have to drive somewhere else to unless you have a booster. The park ranger there is going to give you all the chances to do it if you don’t, the parking ticket costs more than free - genius. The hike was just fine, bring extra water and some snacks if you’re taking the longer trails. There are patches of thimble berries in the first few minutes of hike. Though on my way back, there’s a weird smell coming from all over the place, not sure what it was.

Alex S. Carter

We finally made it to Mono Cliffs for the first time today and we were totally blown away! (Check out the photos below ????) We parked at the Clifftop entrance and spent over an hour in the park but only managed to see a very small section. This park definitely has many more hours of adventures waiting for us!

Roopa Shekar

Beautiful place for hiking. There are 8 trails, it's not a well marked place and only intersections has guide pole with trail directions, so be sure to take a photo of trail map. Trails are easy to hike. A fun family day out kind of a place.

Sierrah

Great place for a leisurely walk, a scenic hike, or even just a run! Many different trails available, but I would suggest getting there early on weekends or really nice days because parking can get a little hectic. Overall, had an incredible time and will definitely be revisiting many times this summer!

NR Rider

Nice trails. Well marked even in winter with free trail guides. Will visit again in the Spring.

Viral Jani

Absolutely amazing place! Great colours in fall and the lakes are breathtakingly clear and beautiful. A wonderful place to hike and spend the day with nature!

Aicha Hassani

A great park! Went for an easy level hike during the winter, however because of ice I would say it was moderate level. The views were lovely and the calm was definitely worth it

Hasan Master

Amazing hiking experience.with cliffs lakes ponds and all. A great time for the family.

Amy N

The park needs better signage to get to the actual parking area. The washrooms were absolutely disgusting. The trails are amazing.. beautiful scenery.

Pete Kameka

Love this place in the winter, enjoying fat biking, and some hiking , check out the caves .

Lindsey W

Came here during a weekday which was very quiet. It was cloudy and drizzling so the fog build up in the forest made it extra picturesque. We were hoping to catch some fall foliage, some trees were still very green, some have changed colours. There are 8 hiking trails and the signage is quite minimalistic. The hike itself is straight forward, but with the ground wet, you need to be extra careful especially around the stairs. Be sure to reserve for parking online. If day pass is sold out, any of the 4-hour day use parking pass would be sufficient for a good hike. This place is quite literally in the middle of nowhere from a city person's view, best to bring your own snacks for the hike.

Deepak Sharma

If you are coming just for the photos then please note that the mono cliffs that you see on Instagram is around 100m area with 4-5 cliffs, although it’s very picturesque. The address for mono cliffs takes you to an area where parking is prohibited. Please use Google maps and search for mono cliffs parking and park there to save yourself from a parking ticket. There is a also a lookout point. Trails are good for walking and cycling. Enjoy.

Drake DeJesus

Very cool place to visit with your family or friends. Great views of the foliage during the Autumn months. Hiking took about an hour and a half to two hours. I wouldn't recommend brining a stroller or wagon as there is many elevation changes and the paths are rough.

Nisha Aryan

You need a good pairs of shoes while trekking on the cliff especially during winters and the beginning of spring. It’s worth visiting the place. You will notice beautiful farmhouses before reaching to your final destination “Mono Cliff”

Rihanna

Visiting it in Fall, awesome. Don't forget to take photo from the lookout area (which has a line up there, and it took 20 minutes for us) , and also visit the cliffs side.

Souvik Kar

Great place to go for a casual hike. Lots of well marked interconnecting trails.

Donya Stubbs

Brilliant place to hike!! Bruce Trail and several blue side trails all intersect here!!

Jeremy Bart

Very cool mountain bike and walking trails. Definitely some single track in here but the double track was perfect for gravel/cross bikes we brought.

Mahad S

Lovely trail and lookout. Highly recommend.

Sona Poulose

One of the best places for hiking. There are so many trails in this park which leads to different directions so you may get confused. Good place to hang out with friends.

Fiona

Overall a nice park that’s worth the visit! As it’s so busy lately, reservation is recommended and can be made online. Parking costs $7.25 for four hours (which I find is enough time if you’re visiting just the main popular trails) and $15.50 for the full day. Seasonal permits also apply. There’s a couple trails that are all fairly easy, a lot rocky ground so it’s not best for a stroller. The popular stairs within the cliffs location is nearby the viewing platform further back in the park. When I went on a Sunday afternoon the viewing platform had a line so I recommend going earlier in the day or on a weekday. Signage is quite confusing within the park depending where you’re trying to go but the white viewing platform and parking lot directions attached to the direction posts are very useful. I recommend taking a picture of the map in the parking lot for your reference as service can be spotty within the park. It’s mainly forest and cliffs, and overall is a nice walk. Some field portions that can be quite sunny but otherwise within the shade. It’s also dog friendly.

Good lovely trail, connects at points with the Bruce trail, not a lot of spots to sit but it's clean, could spend half a day doing all the trails, recommend it if you are around the area... Sun sets are the most beautiful though

Arash A

Booking require through Ontario Parks website. Trails might be hard for children. Very well signed and marked

Mona GS

Beautiful, serene and good trails for a few hours of hiking. A couple of natures cool treasures: Jacob's Ladder "caves", cliffs, pond

Allison Rodrigues

Gorgeous place for a short or long hike! Lots of beautiful spots.

Jim Kang

Nice walk along the South Outlier Trail in October 2019 for the fall colours at Mono Cliffs. Not really any overlook views along this trail and there's a bit of a cliff side hike up before the loop. But it's a quiet trail even on busy days. When I got to the park for my weekend visit, the parking lot was completely full and cars parked for hundreds of metres along side the road to the park. Best to get there early.

Jenn Hunter

If you're headed to this spot come early. The parking lot fills up quickly on the weekends. There are compostable toilets throughout the park but no running water so come prepared with bottles! Also the parking takes credit or cash- no debit!

Anthony G

Great park with a variety of trails and views. You can do most of the park in about 4 hours, which ended up being 12km of trails for our group. While the trails are well-packed, and the steepest portions have stairs, please leave Grandma at home, the Elevation climb is significant. If you plan on doing the South Outlier Trail (yellow) it's a steep climb up and down (not for young kids), hiking poles recommended for this portion. Parking is $7.50 for 4hrs. We arrived at 10am during the peak of Fall on a rainy day. When we started there were lots of spaces in the parking lot, but by the time we ended the parking lot was 75% full.

Eric Westwood

AMAZING hikes and MTBing on the trails! Great spot to tell people you claimed the whole height of the Niagra Escarpment! No horses on most of the trails FYI

kevin chen

The yellow trail is super nice after a 10 min climb up pretty steep cliff. A lot of people visit the other trails because of this cliff. Go early because it can get extremely busy. It is a hike into the park if you can't find parking in the designated area. Lol $7.50 for 4 hours parking. Oct 2020 Please pick up your damn mask(s) if you have dropped it. It was infuriating seeing masks everywhere on the floor!

Ankur Shahi

Amazing trail. I spent the whole day exploring various trails within the park. Well maintained and properly signed so that you don’t get lost. Best for group visits as you can have a better outing.

Bhanu Suresh

Love the trails. Beautiful and serene. No crowd, ample parking! A great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city!

JD BHATT

Beautiful trail with high cliff and multiple options for different trails.

vaishnavi natarajan

Amazing hike.... There was a wonderful river and cliff is the best part. Just remember to have a map in hand..way is bit difficult to figure out. Must watch place in fall.

Rebecca Ke

I found this interesting hiking place from Pinterest. It is actual more fun than I think, and I believe the view will be even better once the fall colour comes. It is a one way trail with so many side trails. You can have lookout view, cliff trails and really convenient stairs going up and down! About 1h drive away from Toronto and they also have bike trail and horse trail. Parking is very convenient. Will definitely come back in fall season!

Jesse Jee

Beautiful place to hike amazing scenery very well maintained trail's highly recommend for outdoor enthusiasts

johann isopp

I truly enjoyed hiking here in every way. Great views. Interesting terrain. Perfect afternoon. Great for families too. Love the outdoors, take a hike.

Brian Neufeld

An excellent place to walk with lots of different winding trails. Even in the winter the paths were easy to walk along.

Soma K Rajesh

Wow. Good place to see Fall colors

Guvanthi Abeysinghe

Mono cliffs provincial park has a network of trails through lightly densed woods with diverse topographic features. Several lakes can be found alongside the trails. Hiking routes as well as cycling and horse riding routes are available. The stairs starting from Cliff-top side trail is laid through rocks creating a picturesque view. Another set of stairs through the cliff are found along Carriage trail. Make sure you flow the park map (better to have a photo in your hand) to not to miss the stairs and lakes in the side trails. A huge parking space is available, but it too might be full on weekends. However roadside parking is also allowed.

John Luu

This place was a great experience. I would highly recommend it for everyone looking for good photos and a relatively easy hike. The main highlights of the hike were the journey to the cave, the actual cave and top viewing point. The lake is not too impressive, however it is great for a leisurely stroll. Overall the trails are very well maintained and there are plenty of maps located on the trails so getting lost should not be a big concern.

Lee Lee (LeeM)

What a beautiful park! A couple of trails for varying degrees of difficulty and length. Can’t wait to return and explore the other trails. Fairly big parking lot and bathrooms onsite.

Nicole Bi

Very beautiful place for an easy afternoon hike. Not very far away from Hwy 400 so it’s easily accessible. Good thing is that (maybe for some) there’s no reception in the park area so no snapping no IG story finally you’ll have some peace and quiet away from your busy life - finally have some time to connect with the nature! A standard loop is about 5K. Be aware that there are a lot of intersections so pay attention to the map and the trails you’re following. There are maps everywhere so you won’t get lost. The viewing platform is EXTREMELY busy. The lineup to get on to the platform is VERY LONG. Not sure it’s entirely worth it but you’ll get a sneak peek of the view if you just step away from the crowd and look out to the cliff. The park is very busy now in early autumn. Families are everywhere so masks are necessary. Overall it’s still recommended.

Aanand Amin

Wonderful place to visit to see the fall colors!! Has great hiking for all skill levels and amazing lookout points!

Jason Tang

Great place for a hike. Most of the trails are covered in shadow, makes it great even during a hot summer day. Make sure you visit all the stairs.

Sayan Pal

It’s a beautiful park and hike trail by the river. I would suggest you go pre book before visiting because it gets busy.

Theodore Hua

Great place for a hike and some nice scenic photos. I did see some presumably poisonous mushrooms and a snake.

Harsh Patel

Nice hiking/group-hangout place, in GTA. One less star for the bad washrooms at the parking. Rest the area is gorgeous with the small ponds and a look out point. You would enjoy even driving north of Hwy 10 on the way to get there. Loved the spot!

Guido Ciardullo

Enjoyed hiking the Bruce Trail through here

Vipin Pulyani

An excellent winter hike on nice trails. The trails are not too challenging. Great place for kids. Trails are long enough that you can spend multiple hours. It’s just 50 min away from Brampton.

thaina a.

Parking available Washrooms available The park is beautiful, get ready to walk a lot to see the features but, the trail is good . Not good for a stroller. Just in my point of view. Very kid friendly .

tammy davis

Ok I've been planning since spring to go here and do the full walk about...the hole trail from start to finish. We got there at 8am on a misty day, thinking it wouldn't be busy. Didn't think it was that much to park there, found price bit high for the trails. Would be great if that had flat fees for all the walking trails and parks. I myself found $17.50 for the day and they offered 4 hours $7.50 (we took). With taking the 4 hour parking, we where always watching our time and rushed a bit to see the hole trail. Now I could of spent the hole day there if not for the cost of parking. That aside... the beauty on the trails at fall time was without words really. Great place to walk with the kids... that said - parents, kids will get dirty as it's a nature trail (as asked on the way out by a mom) and a misty day. Look at some of the photos we got... going to do a girls trip there again! Maybe spring time for new growth. My walking partner has some pretty nice over the edge photos that are stunning as well.

Jainam Shah

Beautiful place just outside GTA. There are so many trails and every trail is interconnected. The good thing is slot booking so there are very few chances of the place becoming over crowded. There are very less few view points but the place is itself a paradise. I would suggest to book at least 2 spots of four hours.

S

The short hike up to the viewing platform was worth it. Amazing view

Jim Ghimery

Best 2 hrs hiking experience. Easy walk with lost to look around. It is an experience you need to be there to feel it. Parking is paid so plz be prepared for that. When we went there it is jam packed fully booked so had to wait for few minutes. But it is worth the wait. Btw don't take a long trail .. it is a drag getting back to the parking lot. Drop you phone and explore the outdoor.

Kee Yu

Not far away from Toronto. Beautiful trails and pretty ample trees. Go there at end of the October to see the leaves. Believe me!

Xheij Jayy

It's a nice place to go for a walk and expected a lot more. It was a bit plain for it's mostly woods and just a few stairs. Nothing exciting, but if you're just looking for a stroll with friends and family this would be a nice place.

Vilius Zigmantas

Very nice trail, good with dogs. Hiked during rain, a bit challenging but doable. Suitable for kids. Plenty of varying trees, forest, ponds.

Miki Adachi

Great view with well maintained trail. Parking fee is required and there is an automated machine to smooth out the process.

JM L

Really nice park. Great view great varieties of trails you can choose from. Kids friendly. But not stroller friendly.

Ashley Labadie

Good hike. Not worth a long drive. Cliffs are not as impressive as the pictures make it look. Just a hike up a moderate size hill.

Gayan Amaradasa

Very nice place. There are beauful trails inside the park. The scenes are very beautiful in the trails. There are three small lakes inside the park. It is one of the best place if you want to enjoy a greener location. There are different locations to enter the park except the main entrance. Full of natural beauty and there is a connection to Bruce trail. The are is crowded and sometimes it may be difficult to find parking spot. The parking space is limited. So other people park beside the road. It is ok.

Muhafiz Ali

Nice spot , must visit. Multiple trails. Could take short cuts or take long ones. Rough trails likely depending on weather condition. Washrooms on the way and in the entrance.

Harmandeep Singh

Place is amazing but the authorities have put different colors on the map and actual trails... Get's pretty confusing. Many people complain they were unable to reach at lookout point instead they got lost and ended up outside the park and left with a feeling that they gotta come back and explore again.

Malay Dave

Mono Cliffs is a great place for a hike year round. It is especially popular for fall colour viewing. It offers hikes for all levels. Most trails are not accessible.

Steve John

Nice trails, click a pic of the trail map before starting your hike. Whichever trail you choose you will ultimately reach your parking spot.

Zalak Patel

Good place which will make you feel more closure to nature. And the view point from different spot is amazing. Loved to spend time at Mono Cliffs park.

JAIN SOJAN

A beautiful park with a long path to conquer mountains. View is absolutely stunning and refreshes our stress. Forget the tension and feel free to enjoy the original environment. Be there early if you have a good weather and explore as much as you can. Go along with your loved ones to make it as a memorable day. You will ever after remember the golden days.

M D

Beautiful trails, extraordinary fall colors. The only downside is that it was very crowded on Saturday. With the Covid-19 travelling restrictions it is expected. Visiting on a Friday was a much better experience a few weeks ago.

Lana Belle

Was pretty busy when we arrived. Parking lot was full. Once we got in the park, we veered off the main path and found more seclusion. A nice 2 hour morning walk!

Sushmita Srivastava

Wonderful experience. Make sure to reserve the parking. They have two slots 12-4pm and 4-8pm. For $7.5 . Check out the antique shop on ur way ❤️

Rucha Dalsania

-Great great for fall -location 5 star-one hour from etobikok, Milton, Barrie -I didn’t see any authority on the site so super super crowded on the weekends -have to visit early at 8 Cons- have to park on the road but still accessible (unlike those No entry boards) -paid parking -somewhat weird washrooms at the parking site -trail map doesn’t have distance mentioned But, easy hikes -very well directions ???? everywhere -mostly beginner level hiking -didn’t visit southern trail(which was seemingly moderate hike) but rest were mostly dog/kid/horse friendly -lookout has East view -beautiful fall colours

Himani Bhasin

It was really crowded on a weekend, so try to go here on weekdays or early morning. Easy Hike if you follow the spillway Trail. It’s bit confusing to find the mono cliffs. Once you find the clifftop trail, you will know you are close. There is a parking near clifftop trail which can save time to do the whole hike if you just want to see the cliffs and a lookout.

Matthew H

Trails are well maintained and marked. There are some steep rocky parts, so wear good footwear. Parking lot can get full, but people were parking on the road

Murilo Romulo

Beautiful spot, nice well maintained trails. The parking not is not huge, but recently so many cars are parking on the road. I had been a couple of times and it was amazing, super quiet trails. However, last time I went there it was insanely busy, so my friends and I could not enjoy as much. I wish they had some way to control the amount of people that can get into the trails. Some people were not very aware of social distancing and respect so that everyone could enjoy the place. This is very unfortunate, because it is definitely a great spot.

Mani Bhandari

Beautiful place and great hiking of 2 hours. No trail for strallers.so avoid little kids for this hike. Awesome experience with my family and 2 teenagers.

Eileen Pan

Good size park. Lots of visitors during the fall

Raquel Gonçalves

Amazing trail! This Saturday we went to visit the Mono Cliffs Provincial Park! So far it has been the best trail we have done !!! Well signposted, easy to walk, has a cave and lakes! Perfect for adults and children! The park is approximately 1 hour from Barrie. Parking costs $ 7 and has a bathroom right at the entrance. We look forward to seeing you in the fall! It must look amazing, but absolutely will need repellent!

Jeanne Romero

-Parking is limited - there is a public washroom (porta potty style), use at your own risk. It smells, but Tissues are well provided. - trail map directions are confusing - there is only blue markings - actual cliff is very short - best to be there is at 9am

Robert Cochrane

Great hiking trails, easy going with some hilly spots, very scenic ???? Parking limited, but some available at the community centre!!!

Seokki Min

I went here on weekdays. Great trails. Try to avoid weekend, parking will be limited. Fall color, long enough easy trails, fresh air and great exercise. Parking $7.50 per 4 hours. Full day $15.50.

Nick Kidd

Nice park with some pretty good trails and scenic views. I wouldn’t say it’s spectacular but was very nice and definitely worth a visit. If you can, get your parking in advance as that’s a little bit crazy!

Gurpartap Kalra (GP)

1 hour trail. Bring your water bottles and food. There are public washrooms ???? at certain point as shown in map below.

Par Nmv

It's a nice trail, will come back in summer for sure

Sam Bortman

We had an awesome time on the various trail parts. We spent about 3 hours hiking but only covered a part of some of the main trails. There's plenty to choose from: the park offers different trails with different difficulty levels. It is well cared for and clean. The maps are relatively good. Make sure you apply plenty of bug repellant and wear very comfortable hiking shoes. You can also access a nice portion of the famous Bruce Trail, from this provincial park. Visit the observation deck - on a nice day you'll have a beautiful view to marvel at. Regardless of whether, you'll get a good glimpse into unadulterated nature, and it's awe inspiring.

Sada Rao

It was a really nice hike. The drive is around 1 hour from Brampton. There is nothing around to eat so would suggest to take something with you. Won’t advise to go during winter.

Barbara Patterson-Smith

Well marked trails and great views. Provincial parks are currently free to visit Monday to Thursday

Rudi Waller

Beautiful place for a hike went in the fall was super busy but really nice place to see fall colours

Jia C

Very large park with multiple trails. You can enter from east or south side. There are many parking spaces. The hikes have a little bit up and down but totally manageable. It has a little creek, a view deck and some grassland. Interesting place to go. Do recommend.

Jay Vagh

The park was beautiful. It was really worth seeing. It took about an hour and a half from start to finish (from the parking lot to seeing everything then back to the parking lot) the cliff part is also nice to see along with the view of all the nature from the top. I didn't see any animals but we were told there could be bears around so it would help to be careful of your surroundings. But overall I would recommend checking it out

gia obr

great hiking spot for a day trip!

Mariana Matsiuk

It’s a beautiful places, but parking is just ridiculous there. Such a huge provincial park and such a small parking. Better to go there as early as possible. If you park on a side of the road, be ready for a ticket. Trailers are rather hard for small kids, impossible for strollers or bikes.

Kenneth Andres

This place is beautiful, however there is a limited parking spot so once it's full, you will have to try again next time. I just left this place today, April 15, 2021 and we were parked on the road side because the parking was full when we got there at around 9am. We got lucky and left at the right time because the cop was giving tickets to all the cars that were parked on the road side. So if you plan to go there, make sure you go there early. I mean super early, and try not to park on the road side. Ps: If you decide to park on the road side, please still pay the parking fee to help fund this beautiful place.

Rajbir

It was nice, but it was very overcrowded and people lining up to visit an overlook at the top of the hill was a sad thing to see since all they needed to do is go a little off the trail and see the same view. I think people just come to take pictures of themselves than to have an adventure and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Peace on Earth

It's a hidden gem for hiker if you love discovering the nature along the cliff and some panoramic views. Majority of the trails in the area are in the shade so it's quite enjoyable to walk on a sunny day.

Joe Savino

Amazing park! Great hiking. Lots of incline climbing. The staircases were fun to climb and cliffs were amazing! Beautiful colored trees everywhere and fallen leaves throughout the forest made for amazing photos and great walk. So quiet as well. I'll definitely visit again! My favorite area to hike and walk!

Maksuda Hafeez

A beauty in itself. Went during labor Day weekend. It was cloudy. We waited at least 30 mins to go to the lookout point.

Ananth Koovappady

An extremely well marked and well maintained trail, this stretch of 10 kms we did gave us a good workout. With steep inclines, downward slopes and flat paths, the moderately difficult trail was an enjoyable one. At some of the highest elevation, the lookout points offered a fantastic view of the surrounding areas. A welcome green spot not far from the crowded city of #Mississauga, this is a place to go for some peace and quiet. Remember to book your paid parking spot BEFORE you get there, otherwise you WILL be turned back. And, don't even dream of parking on the street. Enforcement officers are very active handing out $250 tickets, like they did to some of the cars we saw. All in all, worth visiting and completing all the various sections of the trail.

Husain Campwala

Very good place for outing. They multiple trails intersecting each other. They should have route maps at frequent intervals.

Jacqueline Buck

Dog approved! Beautiful scenery. There is many trails you can take so it is best to keep a map with you. Bathrooms available in parking lot.

Los The Bear

Parking Fee: 7.50 for 4hrs (or 2hrs - Can't remember) helps with up keep. LOTS OF BUGS - so bring bug spray. Unless you don't really care. Key Tip - Take a picture of the trail map. But it will be posted along route at most/every fork to let you know where you are. Beautiful view, you can do a loop of the trail or take the specific one that leads to the look out point (grey trail) but you'll miss out on other parts. Can take you anywhere from 50mins - 2hrs of hiking depending on pace and route.

melissa roelofsen

Beautiful trails, with lovely lookout points. Peaceful, serene, setting. We had a great time hiking here.

Amir N

Good park for hiking long trails. Be sure to keep yourself hydrated. No spots to sit or have a picnic. Purely for hiking. Due to the pandemic and rising population, this park is getting busier and busier. And they now close at a certain time.

Ray Li

Would have probably been better if my girlfriend's roommate didn't choose an absolutely horrid day to visit. I'm giving it two stars for benefit of the doubt. Absolutely wet the day we went, the snow had just started melting. The entire parking lot is a dirty mess of puddles and mud, and I'm expected to pay for parking? A little annoyed by for peace of mind of my car getting towed while we're stuck in the gross middle of nowhere I paid for the hefty parking fees. The public washrooms were both primitive and unsanitary, you'd have to bring a lot of tissues/toilet paper yourself if you wish to use it. For the sake of your sanity at the expense of your dignity you could do your business in the wild, at least you'd smell fresh air. There was no clear or official entrance into the park, we were self-doubting ourselves as we stepped up the first ramp. The paths are a dirty muddy mess due to the snow melting, shoes and jeans were absolutely ruined. There was no clear signage at crossroads to guide where we would go, and not really any benches along the paths for rest. There are a few detailed park maps scattered across in remote locations in similar fashion to video game save points. Because of the poor crossroads signing before I find myself backtracking a lot of my progress to try to get to where I wanted to go. I've only visited a place similar to the Ashina Outskirts where Sekiro fought Genichiro and Isshin the Sword Saint. That was the only memory of this place on my visit. Under too much frustration I turned my back and left. I never saw the cliffs, and all that that made the park what it was. I was neither patient enough nor willing to get dirty again to revisit this dungeon, so I don't plan on coming back.

arun jose

Nice hike where you could take your children pet , bike or horse ????. Its an easy climb you can choose a short walk or a long one. There are multiple entries to the park and two or three parking options. The main lot is usually full on weekends , cant park on that side road.

Tom Wilson

Even on a rainy day, visiting Mono Cliffs was nice. A lot of tree cover to hold off the rain. Mosquitoes were not bad at all for autumn. Not much wildlife, but it was so overgrown in the fields, it would have been easy to hide. A lot of bikers and runners on the paths.

Karen M

Very crowded on weekends during COVID! Nice park with a looping path around a stream. Very flat, easy walk. The lookout had a line of about 100 people. Most people wore masks, many did not. One group had a 20-person picnic right on the pathway. It was impossible to social distance. The province really needs to put in place some access limitations. It’s out of control.

Eldho Paul

Great hiking! Amazing views.. friendly worms!

Macchinie Logronio

My favourite place to hike for all season and usually go there like early as you can as its getting crowded...❤

Sammie Reid

Beautiful park wit many different trails to walk. Not crazy busy with foot traffic so social distancing wasn't a problem. Didn't get to walk the entire park, so I will definitely be making my way back soon. Can't wait for all the leaves to change colors????

Andrew Deegan

Mono Parks was great! Arrive early to beat the crowds of people to avoid parking on the street and eventually getting a ticket. Parking is $7.50 for 4 hours or $14 for the day. Lots of trails you can do, with various difficulties. The "cliffs" themself, while nice, would not be worth it with the crowds, and it can be difficult to find as very little signs exist. Walking the Cliff Top Trail, you'll see a metal staircase headed down and that's where you should go. It's relatively short, and I would not have liked it if we got there late as it's very easy to bottleneck down there. Hidden gem is definitely the yellow trail.

Tabitha Taylor

Beautiful trails, caves were amazing

Gurinder Saini

I went there this past weekend with my kids. Hike was good but wish there are more signs about distance of the hike. There is no information center. There is a map of the site which is not helpful at all. We were on yellow path, but all the trees had blue marks. If you want to climb up the mountain (yellow path) it's a long loop for more than a hour. Nothing to see there. Nice walk for sure. There is lookout point but it was so crowded, 20 mins wait. We didn't get to see it. If you are looking for nice walk and fresh air it's really good place. Not too friendly for 70plus lots of up hill.

Felipe Ribeiro

Great place for hiking. Very peaceful and beautiful nature. Make sure to get early for parking. Do not park on the streets or you will get a ticket.

Shorty Goofy

For those of you coming here to view the big boulder rocks with the wooden staircase let me help by telling you where to find it. Take the carriage trail all the way until you see a second map, go straight past that and when you get to a part where there is a straight path and a path to your left take the left. Then go straight u till you reach another part where there will be a straight path or a path to your right take the right get to the first wooden staircase which you go up and follow the path. That path will take you to another trail - cliff top side trail(hang a right) and go all the way straight you will pass another map (cliff top trail & McCarstons lake trail) but just keep heading straight. You will eventually hit the viewing platform and if you follow the path a bit more you will see metal staircase going down. That is where you have to go, the Boulder rocks and wooden staircase are down there, that is also a dead end which nobody tells you that it’s a small section. I highly recommend going during the weekday because the weekend is crazy packed even the parking on the side of the road is crazy. For those with small kids make sure they go to the washroom before arriving, even though it says there are washrooms these are worse then portable washrooms - the stench is horrible! The park was very nice and the trails are well maintained, we weren’t able to go to all the trails because it was getting late but my main focus was that classic picture I see of the boulders.

Cathy Barrer

Awesome hike but hard to stay on trails due to snow/freezing rain. Lots of spots had no tracks & fallen branches blocking the way. But was worth it, magical day last Friday there

Luna Liu (Lunaismoon)

You can’t find a better place for your Autumn trip

Tashfin Awal

Beautiful location, I would say it’s a medium difficulty hike. Even on a hot day it was fairly shaded which was nice. Beautiful views

Nilam Savani

After seeing picture in Instagram, I went to this trail with my friends for hiking and we had a great time. As it is in provincial park, we need car parking permit. Trail is really beautiful with lookout point & cliffs. You can get a great photos for your social media accounts for sure here.

Anmoal Gill

Nice trail, went on a weekday evening so it wasn’t busy at all. Had to pay for parking, bummer. The viewing points offers a great lookout, would suggest doing it earlier in the AM- we did it around 6:00 pm and half the trees were covered in shade because of the setting sun. The trails are pretty muddy so beware. Also, the fall colours while nice, are not the best as there is still a lot of green.

L Cla

Many paths to walk along. Forest, to clearings, to swamp areas. If you enjoy horseback riding, you can ride here. Dogs are permitted as long as they stay leashed and you pick up their poo. Plenty of Trillium along the paths. FYI very poor to no cellphone service in certain areas.

Jim Deveau

Very nice trail. We went in late December so it was quite icy at the start. Make sure to wear good shoes/boots and get a walking stick. There are some good hills to go up/down. It's a category II trail so expect to be a little physical. The signage is OK, but a little hard to understand. Suggest you take a pic of the trail at the start so you can know where you're going. We are average hikers and we did 5km in 2 hours. That's with a stop at the top for some hot chocolate and candy canes. Yummy... I would for sure go back. Oh... I was happy to pay the $15 fee. I don't feel the insane amount of taxes I already pay is enough. I wish I could pay more. The park nark was there checking for pay stubs so I'm glad we did pay. There are lots of free trails around so if you don't want to pay, check out alltrails.com... Happy hiking... :-)

Alison Wonderland

Such a beautiful trail for a fall walk! The trail itself is pretty easy and wide (with the exception of the path right at the parking lot) but can get busy later in the day. We arrived around 9:30am and the parking lot was completely full before 10am! When we left a couple hours later there were tons of cars lining the road leading to the lot, so just be wary of crowds the later you arrive.

Da Ria

Amazing place, caves are small but really beautiful <3 There are a lot of trails around, some of them with a hills. I really like all forest ponds here. The parking lot is really limited((( If you decided to park on the street, you can get a ticket ( This park is huge, great for bird watching, hiking for hours))) I recommend to visit this awesome place on weekdays, not on weekends.

Mohamed Said AMAKHLOUF

Very good experience. Multiple Trails, shady the most of time. N.B. Parking lot at the entrance costs $7.5 for 4 Hours. Not much compared to the benefit you'll get from hiking through such a piece of heaven

Antonio T.

A small size provincial park, close to Toronto. It offers a lot of thing for such size. Beautiful Pine trees, Maples, Ponds and very cool cliffs. No need to be super hiker to do it, just take it easy in some slopes. Definitely recommend to all ages. Please keep it clean and try not to disturb nature.

Jeremy Anderson

Nice hike on a sunny Saturday. The loop of the trail furthest from the wooden lookout bridge is actually the nicest section of trail. Less foot traffic and still very nice scenery. Worth checking it out once you've seen the lookout.

mehreen durrani

Great trail to enjoy with your family. It is moderate to hard, won’t suggest to families with young kids as it is uphill, steep hill and stairs. Stay on Carriage trail, it will take about good 2 hours to finish this trail. Just make sure with new rules, you need to book parking in advance, they would not accommodate any walk-ins.

Junaid Ahmad

Great place to spend an afternoon. We went on Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. The park was scenic and trails were nice. Difficulty level was easy to moderate for the most part. I had bought a half day (4 hours) parking permit and we were able to finish in 3.5 hrs which includes a half an hour break for lunch as well, which we had packed from home. They don't give any trail map but I had already downloaded and printed one from Parks Ontario website. I agree with many other reviewers that trails are not well marked, but since we had the print out of the map, we were able to navigate through the trails with not much difficulty. A bit of drive from GTA so I'll return but perhaps not too frequently.

Jenny ROWE

It was so beautiful and air was filled with the scents of nature. The multiple trails are well marked and easy to follow. The look out and other scenery views were captivating and breath taking..... Totally would do it again, approximately a 2 hour drive and well worth it...started at 9 a.m. and was there just over 5 hours... we completed a few of the trail and the water we came across was crystal clear...

sara hofsteede

Beautiful trail! The caves were really cool to see and just a beautiful area all together! The park wasn't busy when we went at the end of May. Can't wait to go back.

sirus zahedi

Colour full fall, relaxing area without any noises just birds song. But so sad some people didn’t care about taking care about the environment and they throw away bottles and masks..... on their way.

Ken X

Nice trails... Just too long and up and down and once you started, you just can't go back via the same route (that's too boring, right? ! ) for a city guy who would drive the car to the coffee shop at the end of the street for a cup of coffee... ???????? The trails mostly covered in the forest, with shades and breeze, very cozy to walk.

Christa Love

The park offers many looping trails. There are cliffs, forests, and lakes which makes for lots of variety. You could easily pick a length of hike that suited your hiking level. Beautiful fall colors.

Suman Sinha

Nice trails in heart of nature. The trail markings can get a bit confusing, so best to have a map handy. Otherwise, a nice easy walk.

Michael

Was pleased that there are trail loops which provides much variety for hiking. Level of difficulty varies from trail to trail so there is choice for different abilities.

J Qi

Very nice place for a family weekend trip, variety of trails, decent workout, definitely coming back in a month for the fall color...

Shanieka Johnson

Omg! This place is amazing! So beautiful my kids loved it, I loved it! Nature in its purest form. If you are a lover of nature go! You won't regret it!

Siddhartha Tembe

Not much of a picnic area but the trails are really great. Must visit if you love nature and want to spend time away from the hustle bustle of city.

Andrew Reid

Really nice place with lots of trails and very well taken care of. For sure a great time to spend with family and friends.

Amit Brahme

A decent hike, easy and good for all ages. Ample parking. Washrooms on route and at parking base.

Elena Poon

The leaves mostly fell when we went or else would have been a really nice view It was still a good hike. The map is really clear and there's many signs along the way so you won't get lost for sure The two stairs are good places for pictures

Thejo Kumar V

Perfect place to visit during summer, you will really enjoy the trail walk.

Anastasiya Potapovych

Nice place to visit if you’re looking for a new hike. The trails are easy to navigate, very little elevation except for when you reach stairs. The rocky formation is not a big part of the hike but is still nice. The lookout point (pictured) is nice. There is lots of parking but make sure that you reserve a time slot online first.

Binndi Suvarna

This is a beautiful place for hiking! The drive to Orangeville is also scenic. However, parking could be an issue as the parking lot is really small and the huge number of cars parked outside were getting were getting parking tickets when we were just about to leave. So best to reach here early and find a spot in the parking lot to avoid tickets.

Sunny Singh

Great place to go for a hike that's challenging but beginner friendly. Don't miss the Lookout Trail which is easy to overlook, it had my favourite view in the park!

Katie Morewood

We saw some really neat pictures online of this place, however we did not find them on our walk. We did find the lookout spot, which was nice but very crowded. Neat walk in the woods but I wouldn't trip out there just to visit it. Costs money to get in and when we went you had to have reservations.

Monish Comar

Great trails. Had an amazing time hiking.

Mark Wild

Back to normal ,.....great job by the township of Mono and bylaw enforcement ...also can't forget the job the Ontario parks people did also during the last few years which have been a challange to say the least..

Katrina Cameron

Husband had one year-old on back, I'm four months pregnant and held our leashed 85 pound dog and it was an easy little walk. We parked near the TDSB property and walked to Jacob's Ladder. Really neat! Rocks and roots can be tripping hazards for those who are visually impaired. No garbage cans on the portion of the trails we took, so carried dog waste bag around.

cody daoust

Great place for a day hike. Lots of different terrain from flat and smooth to steep and rocky. Seems like an awesome place for mountain biking. Paid parking but lots of other places to park and walk in free. Caves and cliffs all around not far off trail but watch your step!

d897 d

Good hiking place. Maintained trails. Very well signed. Combine few trails ( carriage trail- spillway- Lookout trail-bruce trail- cliff top side trail- carriage trail- to parking spot) and you can make it 10k approx/3-4 hours.

Cameron Sinclair

I loved visiting here. Some very beautiful areas. I took the yellow trail seeing on the map that their is lots of class and expected some lookouts, their is none.. it was all forest. Still a great day and hike.

vivek puthran

Came back Here after my last visit in the summer and the fall views did not disappoint. The day was fantastic with plenty of sunshine and lots of people ... lol... did the Mc Carston lake hike which was pretty good with good views of the lake. Always good to be back here.

Mary Chatz

We spent a very short time there only because we didn't see anything other than the hiking trail. No attendant there. You purchase you ticket from a machine. There are better trail around the area. The bathrooms were in horrible condition and they didn't even had a faucet ti wash your hands. More up front info should be privided about this park. Luckily we have a season pass and did not spend any money on buying a ticket. We might go back there in the Fall to explore it more.

Andra Lo

Beautiful provincial park with a variety of trails for all ages! We were looking for something more challenging, so ended up hiking just over 10km.

Armaan Ladha

Great hiking area in the fall with a lovely lookout view with beautiful rock formations. Make sure to buy the park pass online before hand as a lot of people were getting turned around at the gate by security.

Bronwen D

Went in the fall for the beautiful autumn colours and wasn't disappointed. Excellent hiking with varying degrees of difficulty, and you will need to hike up some stairs if you're going to reach the lookout, which is absolutely worth the work. Plan to spend a few hours here and bring snacks. I took away one star only because the bathrooms were horrific: people were choking on the smell outside of them, and the extremely old parking machine was rejecting everyone's credit cards that day. Good thing we had coins.

Taufiq Alibhai

Nice trail overall. Went a little late in the season hence all the leaves had fallen but i can imagine a much better experience if someone visits at the right time in the season. Well marked with easy to follow signs. Lookout point was very interesting though small. So wait for your turn. Washrooms were in pretty bad state when we tried to use them at the end of our visit. No cell service (at least for Fido)

Bobie D

Beautiful park to hike. We took the Lookout side trail via spillway trail loop last summer. Lots of incline to get your heart pumping... and with great rewarding views. Would like to visit again.

N Mc

Great park with plenty of different trail options. Probably popular with the Instagrammers - lots of good photo spots.

Nikita

Hiked 10+km of trails in this provincial park. Had an amazing time, and it was not that busy on a Thursday afternoon.

Francis Lynch Merto

Simply amazing trails. Must come if you love a long hike and beautiful sceneries.

Levin Joseph

Has so many beautiful trails with some nice views. Nice forna day hike. Lots of shade depending on which one you do.

Joanna F

The hiking was great, very long trails and a lot to see. The only downfall would be the lack of maps and there was a lot of poison ivy and no signs indicating any was on the trails. No cell phone service so you can’t check your phone to look at the trail map app, or to show your parking permit.

Henry Dang

Great place to visit for new and experienced hikers. Fantastic destination for a day trip. I have been here at various times of the year and it is always a good time. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to escape to nature.

Avijit Sinha

Amazing place for hiking with connections to the Bruce Trail. The stairs are bit steep but overall easy difficulty. Definitely a visit for fall colours.

Denis Meilleur

Very peaceful walk in the trails. Always a new trail to discover.

E L

Nice park to see foliage (though not too many red leaves when I went). However, it was a bit busy on a Friday and almost no one wore masks. People are respectful though, and there was a line up at the viewing platform. The signage was decent although trails are a bit confusing. To get to the rocks, you need to go to the stairs in the north side of the cliff.

Anirudh sharma

Nice place for a small hiking Photos on google are edited Its just a small track which has these kind of stairs Also have a view point up the cliff Good place for 4-5 hours only

Ryan Wyatt

Not too many people on the trails even at some popular spots. Everyone very polite. Booking a parking spot and time was pretty easy too via the provincial park website. Can't wait to go back I the fall when the leaves turn colour ????????????

Cathy Russo

It was a good hike with different trails that you could loop around. Some trails were just a straight line and didn't loop around so you're seeing the same things on your way back. The scenery is basically all the same but it's still beautiful to see. I would go again it's a nice hike overall.

Brent

A great place to spend the day. Parking is cheap and there's over 10 kilometres of trails to be discovered. There have a few ponds and a lake on the property. So fishing is a go. Great place to take the family for a day of nature. This place gets really busy so getting here early is a good idea. Just one of the many provincial parks that Ontario has to offer.

Gary C

Beautiful Provincial Park that your whole family can visit. We also saw many dogs along the trail so it's a great exercise for them too. Paid parking lot gets full easily. Parking for 4 hrs is $7.50 or you can pay for full day which was $15.50. I suggest arriving early on a busy weekend as the lot was almost full by 11am. The alternative is to park for free on the road but the road is tight once cars are parked on both sides and may be a cause for concern for some. Lots of trails and side trails to hike through with varying degrees of challenge. Can be steep in some parts as there are stairs to take you up. Unfortunately, not all markers were easily found. Note: There is hardly any cellular reception once you're there. If possible download your maps before hand or be stuck with the trail maps throughout the park.

Vanja

Lots of smaller trails you can explore which make each hike a new experience. Love it!

S H

We did the 10.6kms Lookout trail. The lookout was just a big disappointment. We went on a Monday late morning, only really saw people the first 2 kms going in and last 2 kms coming out. It was a peaceful hike.

Tania Doyley

Great place with many different options for trails. Pet friendly, and some trails allow horseback riding and bikes. Really easy to follow for beginner hikers. Also, beautiful views. Lookout point by Carriage Trail is stunning.

Monica Ma

Website said 70% color change but when we went yesterday Oct 2, its not the case. I would say less than 50%. It takes 1 hour from parking lot to cliff top viewing platform. The trail is not interesting n not scenic. I dont think its worth the hike. Not much to see.

Aditi N

Good trail. There are a variety of trails, you can select based on length and difficulty. Staircase has a good view. Can be crowded during weekends.

Clarence Chu

One of the most popular provincial park in the Orangevill/Mono area. Has a big paid parking lot. But in the weekends, many cars has to park by the streets. The park has very nice trails and a nice Lookout to see fall colours of Mono area.

Parabhjot Deol

Beautiful park with great trails. There are lots of trail options. The lookout point also offers an amaIng view which is best in the fall.

Ai Na Lim

We visited Mono Cliffs Provincial Park yesterday. There are many trails with the combination among easy, moderate & tough. But it's so worthy for spending your relax hours at this park. We enjoyed the peaceful lakes and walking wooden path. Just a little tip: Please go to this park around morning hours in order to find a secure parking lot.

Aldo Clausi

Don't bother. Who knew you had to have a permit and reserve you time because of Covid to take the family on a trail walk. We drove an hour with the kids only to get there and have the park warden turn us away. You can have 19000 people in the Rogers Center and 49000 people in the Scotiabank area but a family can't enjoy a trail walk. Really, who are you trying to protect. Not going back there and will recommend walking trails in the King/Vaughan area

A.D Raw

Loved the hike here. Definitely reccomend it. Wide smooth trails, (good for mountain bikes too). A few stairs and lookouts, ponds with a bench to sit and relax. Just love it.

Jenny Zhang

We came to Mono Cliffs Park today at 10:30am. Parking lot was full and many cars parked along the road side. There are many trails in the park and they are connected to each other. We hiked Cliff top trail and Lookout trail. Both are great and have beautiful views. Trails are moderate to hike.

Tauseef Ali

A great place to go with family. The hike isn’t very difficult. You can do it with young kids as well. Going to washrooms is not something I would recommend, but it’s there for emergencies if you really need to. Please keep in mind that cell phone reception will be very choppy.
