Ice hiking does exist?

(Translated) I put a chiringuito in an igloo and started selling cheap soft drinks, free ice cubes, but whatever it was, the business did not prosper. The final closure came from an unexpected robbery in the middle of one of those nights that last seven months. The mangantes in question opened a hole in my establishment, using a hair dryer, and took all the liquid active that they found, which, however, was not much when being at - 50 ° C, it must be said.

I cant begin to describe how gorgeous this park is. Be prepared to hike some difficult paths, but the rewards are glaciers and blueberries and the most amazing views in every direction.

In 1975 along with my father and his best friend, Jack Higgins and his son Glen, I helped to build the base camp for "Penny Ice cap National Park' (now Auyuittuq National Park) in Pangnirtung. I heard that most of it vanished in a wind storm shortly after we left. Does anyone have images or information on what is there now?

A beautiful part of Canada. It took us 8 days to hike the 100km Akshayuk Pass. Memorable experience.

(Translated) I never had the chance to visit this park, but I was lucky to see its beauty in an airplane from a bird's eye view. Very, very beautiful nature, I envy the people of Canada. Honestly, I have never seen such beauty before or after. To all tourists who plan to visit the American continent, I highly recommend visiting this park, and if you are currently buying a plane ticket to Canada, the United States or Mexico, then find out the flight route, if it passes through Oyuttuk Park, then you are lucky as I am))) .

Beautiful, quiet, secluded, mountainous landscape with river crossings, and fresh glacier water. I've done the hike twice up to Windy Lake from Pangnirtung Pass. To enter the park you must pay an outfitter to drive you in by boat. There are areas that are very windy, and the terrain changes throughout - from moss, sand, boulders, and sometimes icy - be prepared for wet feet throughout the hike. The Parks Canada staff are local Inuit who are very informative and you need to watch a Polar Bear Safety video prior to departure. An absolute great time!

Expansive park that gives you the truest feeling of insignificance and remoteness. The landscape is disproportionately vast compared to the human in it. Huts are cozy and the tussocks will give your thighs a work out. It's all worth it for the journey into this park.

Auyuittuq National Park Located on eastern Baffin Island between the communities of Pangnirtung and Qikiqtarjuaq, Auyuittuq (pronounced ‘ow-you-we-took’) National Park is the most accessible national park in Nunavut and the most popular for both short visits and extended ones.Visitors discover a landscape that is 85 percent rock and ice, dominated by steep and rugged mountains, with vast glaciers and powerful rivers. Most hikers and skiers follow Akshayuk Pass, a 97 kilometre (60 mile) traditional Inuit travel corridor that traverses the park. It starts at sea level and rises to 420 metres (1,378 ft.) at Summit Lake, a picturesque area framed by towering granite peaks. Skiers and backpackers can do the entire traverse starting at theQikiqtarjuaq end, or do a return trip fromPangnirtung to Summit Lake and back

Auyuittuq National Park is a national park located on Baffin Island's Cumberland Peninsula, in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, the largest political subdivision of Canada. The park was initially known as Baffin Island National Park when it was established in 1972, but the name was changed in 1976 to its current name to better reflect the region and its history. It features many terrains of Arctic wilderness, such as fjords, glaciers, and ice fields. Although Auyuittuq was established in 1972 as a national park reserve, it was upgraded to a full national park in 2000.
