We went here for the first time to check it out and have a picnic and we were not disappointed. It was worth the drive!
This Provincial Park features a rare combination of a nice white sand. Beach with hiking trails on the side. There are picnic tables, and lots of places to lay out a blanket for a picnic. The beach is not rocky but does have some remaining seaweed on the shore which is normal when the tide changes. It seems to be well sheltered as well as there was no wind howling into the shore like a lot of other beaches we have been to.
There are a few different trails you can take. We were on a bit of a time crunch so only had time to do the beach trail, but we will be back to do the other longer ones.
There are washroom facilities near the parking lot which is an old style outhouse. You can expect this to be no different than any other old style outhouse, so not the most pleasant, but gets the job done. It is better than nothing even if it is not pleasant, but if your realistic, what can you expect out in the country side? Certainly not indoor plumbing! ????
This park also has a very unique layout geographically. If you do the beach trail you will notice on the far right side there is a wall of land and rock that seperates the ocean from a fresh water lake which is the first time I have seen this in a Provincial Park.
In addition there is also history to this park which was quite interesting. Overall, a great place to visit and spend the day. I know we enjoyed our time here and will be back ????????
