DESCRIPTION

We have all the opinions of people who are buying the services and products of Sandy Lake Park (Park) in Nova Scotia (Canada).

To this day this firm receives a rating of 4.5 stars over 5 and that rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.

As you can see the average of ratings that it reaches is almost the best one, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may be pretty sure that the rating is very reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.

You know that we do not usually bother to set tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...

This Park is classified in the category of Park.

Great off-leash (October-June) forest park. A short path leads to a beach area and the rest of the paths are forest paths leading down to the lake. I was disappointed that there is no map anywhere at the park of the trails. Luckily, I had my phone and looked up the map. There are many trails that are not on the online maps of the park - probably desire paths. The signs showing where was off-leash sometimes contradicted each other. Overall, a solid 4 stars. My dog loved bounding through the forest. I went after heavy rain and the forest floor was very slippery but made the fall colours extra pretty.

Beautiful and clean space. The parking lot has a plenty of space. There are safeguards during the summer.

I love this walk for my puppy. It's not too busy and it has lots of different areas you can go. My only complaint is that more people need to be responsible and pick up after their dogs.

The swimming area is not big enough to receive all the visitors, which makes it crowded place in general. The lake has basic facilities and Baywatch available and showers and public toilet. The place is not perfectly maintained as toilets (For example) were not so clean. The waters were nice and shallow for little ones. The park is clean and in good shape. Parking was not close to the lake, but not far for a nice walk, however, this leaves a challenge to those who needs accessibility aid.

It is great calm park, have lunch seats and located at the front side of a small lake beach which you can swim either. There are restrooms and very beautiful picnic area, but the only thing that you should think about it is parking lot. The parking lot is kind of far from the park, it's located in a place surrounded by trees, out of attention which may lead to incidents such robberies or breaking car windows. Moreover, you need to walk almost 1000 feet walking to get to the park from the parking lot. Please press like on my review if you are agree with me. Thank you,

Raquel Chubey

Great park. My dogs enjoyed the walk. Met up with a few other dog owners and had a nice chat. Beautiful spot

I like this little lake for swimming on hot days. The only problem I have with it is how busy it gets.

Mark Williams

This park was a great discovery, only 20 minutes from downtown. The lake is ideal for young kids since it has a very shallow grade even more so than a wading pool. The beach and part of the water were in the morning shade. The park was clean, beautiful, had both a lawn and a sandy area above the beach to play in and it has washrooms.

Don MacKenzie

What a great little park. I have lived here for forty years and did not know it existed. Several clean washrooms. Great swimming. The water was high so we did not have a beach but it looks like there is a good beach when the water goes down. There is about a 500 meter from the parking lot to the grassy picnic / beach area. Easy walk in but a little climb getting back out. I is hard to believe that one can be in the wilderness and still be in the city. Lots of picnic tabkes.

Bri

Great place to walk the dog, love that it's off leash during the off season. Very clean but lots of bugs after 7pm

One of the quieter lakes in HRM, specifically in weekdays. Got a very good shallow beach, good for families and kids.

Great off-leash trail for dogs. Humans bring your bug spray because the flies will easily carry you away if it's the right time of day.

Jeeno Lee

great place to enjoy

Great picnic area! No beach to speak of, just stairs into the water lol, but the water was lovely.

Excellent park to walk your dog. We only did the first half today through the conifer forest by the lake to the beach then back via the road. Right time of year as the whole park is off lease as of Oct 1.

Traverse Davies

It's great for dogs from October to June, as most of it is off leash. Great for families and swimming over the summer. One of the warmest lakes in Nova Scotia

Absolutely beautiful park minutes outside the city. Great spot to walk or take the pups out to play. Beautiful lake, but there is no easy access to launch canoes/kayaks without a long/steep carry. One of the many Sandy Lakes in HRM :)

Warm water, best lake to swim with babies and kid. Stroller friendly. Only 20 minutes from downtown Halifax. Love it.

Shelbie Deyoung

great trails , clean environment and also an off leash dog park . What more could you need ? Also public washrooms on site . Awesome place to take the family for the day .

Shelley Purcell

Nice off leash park. Great walk in the woods with many entrances into the lake for both dogs and their people.

Robert Larter

Great little walk short tail , and awesome place to walk a dog, the people and dogs especially seem friendly! In summer time the lake is great for swimming in shallow enough to stand up far out but deep enough to swim.

Alexandr Belorukov

Dennis Kebaya

Beautiful and clean beach for a family. You can take a dip, fish and bask in the summer sun.

George MacLean

Not a bad spot to bring your dog as they have off leash trails which have water access for your dog. The actual beech area is underwhelming however and is not dog friendly most of the year.

Anna Sarty

Barry Efford

Beautiful spot. Great sunset, great people and awesome dogs! The wooded area is great for dogs to explore

Loved it..Our 1st time there!!

Lynn Morrison

Short through the woods and along the lake. Beautiful blanketed in snow

Michael Walker

A good little swimming area with lifeguards, and a grass area for sitting, eating, playing etc complete with washroom facilities. However, it is difficult to sit and watch children swimming due to the line of trees and rocks at the water's edge.

Will Nickerson

Catherine Delaney

Nice park. For dogs shubie park is better though.

Sybil Nunn

Great off leash park. Main trails are off leash October to June. Woods trails are off leash year round.

Nice quiet lake. Not much sand for laying out, but nice place, very clean water

Lynn Manuel

It was like bath water ????. Park area was nice. Dog aren't allowed on the beach or in picnic area

Abeer Aly

Lots of ignorant owners of the beach rules. No enforcement of the NO DOGS ALLOWED in and around the beach area. There were some rude people who could not care less about their dogs terrifying my kids who were playing at the water.

Dawn Gaudet

Love he off leash opportunity this park presents. Beautiful day to be there in yhe snow.

Terri Nehiley

Terri Rideout

Wonderful old growth forest nearby.

Zubair Ahmed

Top rated place to go for off leash trails hiking with Negan! If you go off the main trail, some areas are not well marked and easy to wander in the wrong direction. It is typically wet and muddy trail and sadly garbage has been left by others. There is no garbage containers in the off season time, except at the front entrance. Reminder to bring out what you brought in.

Lexi Lively

Do not wear $300 shoes on this trail #shouldaknownbetter lmao

Stacey Lyght

I thought it would have a better trail system

(Translated) I loved it ! (Original) Adorei !
