We visited in March end..the season was yet to start. It was quiet and pleasing experience , a world of your own.

Hasan Bateson

We spent an afternoon, drawn by the birchbark canoe making demo, but unfortunately it wasn't available the day we were there. No matter; we visited a few other spots in this vast park, and it's wonderful: Mill Falls, a short walk from the info centre, that even the young grandchildren could manage... The beach at Merrymakedge... Jake's Landing, where you can rent canoes & kayaks... Eel Weir. That doesn't even scratch the surface of what's available, and it's cheap, under $12 for a family group.

Autumn is a most spectacular time in Nova Scotia. The leaves, the temperature, the trails. Keji is perfect for hiking, back-country camping, canoeing, and now for mountain-biking with some pretty sweet trails!

Marcel Lewis D'Entremont

Beautiful park tons of trails of various difficulties some are even wheelchair friendly. Jeremy's bay campground is awesome and there is no outhouses but actual bathrooms with flush toilets and running water. Well worth the trip it doesn't matter if you love just down the road or thousands of miles away you won't regret it. If camping stay at least two nights minimum. There is too much to do if you want to do it it can't be done in less than that. Or just sit and relax at your campsite. Some sites have power hookup with a 20a 120v standard receptacle and 30 or 50a camper outlet

Leila Bautista

Relative to other national parks in Nova Scotia this one is less of a sight seeing destination. Great if you're a newbie at camping and looking to do quite a bit of kayaking or canoeing.

Laura Goodhew

Beautiful! Love the trails and the river! Lovely walk in the winter ❄️

Keith Doucet

Serenity now!!! Trails are not crowded. Well groomed.

Brent Platt

The site is beautiful, the water was warm and the views were spectacular.

Very nice park. We were in a travel trailer at an electric site. Being novices we missed that we should have gotten water at the entrance; where the dump station is located. Who knew??:)) The park will be closed in 2020 for renovations. The end result will be fantastic; we saw some drawings.

Donald Howard

Spent 2 nights in an O-tentik. Would love to spend a week. Lots to see in the park. We rented a canoe and the staff was really helpful. I can't wait until the kids are bigger and we can check out some back-country tent sites. FYI - don't bring outside firewood with you.

T R

Very nice campground. Lots of greenery to explore. Bathrooms are clean, spacious and conveniently located. Stats at night were amazing. Firepit was a good size. Sites are a little close together but nice to go with a group. Lots of water access. Will definitely be back.

Looney Byn

Started going backcountry camping five years ago and going again this year! This was last summer’s trip to sites 21 and 22... poison ivy at 21 and three days of rain in the forecast sent us home a day early.

Sean Harrison

Had an amazing camping / canoeing trip at sites 5 and 6. One of my best ever. Weather was perfect.

The Great Outdoors With William

A wonderful park to explore.

Kate Harris

We went backcountry camping at Keji. We canoed to our campsite (rented canoe and equipment from the park). The campsite was incredibly beauiful and well put together (included picnic table, fire pit with grill, tent pad, wood, pit outhouse and lines to tie up our food/garbage). Very private - there was a good distance between our campsite and the next closest backcountry site. What we saw of the park was amazing. Can't wait to go back and explore some more.

Gregory Minacapelli

There is so much to see and to say hope those picture can talk about it. It’s an amazing lake. The islands are really nice to picnic, you can camp on them and the scene around you is just incredible. You fell so small in this vast water.

Roxy W

Always a great visit, I aways go back country camping!

D C

Keji will leave an impression on you that you will never forget. This special area of NS is one of the main reasons we decided to move to this part of the province. A backyard we could only dream about before!

Adrian Shields

We visit Keji a few times a year, but our favourite is always autumn!

Aly

Cool place with gool mushrooms, cool endangered turtles and lots of cool native history. Also cool astronomy spots. 12/10 would recommend

Carter Rae J

Kejimkujik is the best National Park; Bar None. I've been camping here for more than 38 years and I love it so much. Kejimkujik is my favorite place in in all of Nova Scotia. There's nothing like a big campfire on a chilly October evening!!

Joel Scott

Beautiful untouched nature. The 'Backcountry" they advertise is good for beginners. The lake is marked with buoys you can match to a map and the island sites are well stocked and taken care of. We'll worth the trip! Especially in 2017 with the free park entry!

Laura Vienneau

Keji is AMAZING. Saw monarch butterfly.

Cody McNeill

Kayaked to island 13 and it was an experience I will never forget. It was so amazing to wake up on my own little private island facing the water. My only complaint is that the designated tent area is very rocky and sharp. So uncomfortable if you don't have a pad or mattress.

Mike Kennedy

Superb! Glorious and soggy, full of lakes and mystery. Don’t miss the Sky Circle and the chance to peer into deep space with that amazing star filled sky. Spent two nights here and they are two nights I’ll never forget.

Raffael Link

The focus of this park is canoeing. However, I hiked the Liberty Lake Loop. The northern part of the trail is the most beautiful. The southern part is mainly on a forest road. The campsites are well maintained, always providing plenty of dry firewood. The only critic here is, that the Backcountry campsites are expensive in comparison to other national parks.

Ren Corvus

Kejimkujik is always a great place to camp! Been coming here for years!

Juliana Kühnert

Amazing place. Beautiful trails for hiking or biking. wonderful Washrooms, very clean. a lot of Showers and playgrounds around the park. kayaks renting for accessible price. the campsites are a little small than I expect, but with beautiful trees around.

Joseph Reimer

I thoroughly enjoyed the park. My group spent two nights there. We enjoyed a bunch of canoeing. We saw and heard some loons which was awesome. The campsite was very accommodating. The one complaint I have is the stench coming from the outhouse. If that was somehow eliminated or reduced, it would then be perfect.

Kai Leskinen

Amazing camping. The island sites are bomb. Highly recommend

Ovida Pinto

Beautiful place for kayaking and canoeing.. we were able to spot ducks..

Donald Reimer

Best place for camping. Beautiful lakes for canoeing and kayaking. White sand beaches. Good hiking trails. Pretty waterfall

Jason “Highrollinblues” Munro

A natural paradise for hiking, paddling, camping, photography

Barton Cutten

Excellent park to see some old growth forest. Being a dark sky reserve, Keji is perfect for star gazing! Also for some reason AM radio station reception is exceptional, literally some sort of station is present on almost every frequency. Most of the radio stations you can tune into are from the United States and they are as varied in content as you could imagine. It's a fun and easy way to explore the United States via radio.

Jeff Freeman

Absolutely stunning! A beautiful place to enjoy nature. Spent the weekend there. It was amazing we can't wait for the next trip!!

Parth Patel

It’s a great place for hiking, trail and especially camping. Camping experience was amazing, it has all the required amenities.

Daniel Settle

Atlantic Canada's only inland National Park. Do you want to get away from the Coast and enjoy every type of woodsy camping experience. Network of lakes, rivers islands to canoe on. Back Country, Front Country, Island, camping. Beautifully wooded bike, hike and walking trails. The water is dark like tea and warm. Swim in the lakes or by the falls. Bike, Canoe, Paddle Board rentals. Clean showers and washrooms. :)

Blaine Abbott

Beautiful camp ground! National park so for trailers they only have electricity at your camp site. However the sites are very roomy. There is so much to here though for the nature lover. If you like/love camping, make sure to put this place on your list to visit. Extremely relaxing and peaceful!

Bernadette Boland

Great picnic and drive. Beautiful scenery.

Joaquim Almeida

If you are in Nova Scotia this will be your place to get in touch with nature. Beautiful Lakes, but beware of mosquitos in summer!

Eric Blair

Wide open space with plenty of well maintained campsites. Scores of trails including a back-country route which circumnavigates the park. One drawback is nonrefundable fees without a three day cancellation notice, difficult to do when weather is a factor.

Loana Holzmann

Beautiful park. Many trails to follow or just paddle on the lake. The washrooms are clean. Showers are on another part of the park, you can go by car or walking, depending where you are.

Krista Whitehouse

One of the greatest parks. This park has lots to offer. The trails are incredible, the campground is large, and the things to do here is endless. We always have a great time. The waterfalls at Mill Falls and breath-taking. We spent a lot of time on our bikes doing the trails, which were all lovely, although some can be narrow at times. You can also rent canoes and take to the lakes. We did quite a bit of geocaching while we were there and the caches were all in great shape. We usually tent here, and this time we stayed in Slapfoot Loop, site 213. It was great, flat, and perfect for setting up tents. Camp site had a lot of people in it this weekend but it was still very quiet, which we loved. Previously, we have stayed before in the 198-210 range and all of those sites are terrible. Avoid those like the plague. They are all on a sloping hill, so if you are in a tent, you are constantly sliding down. And it's not just a gentle slope either, it's at least ten degrees or more. They aren't even sites really, and I can't believe they actually charge money for them. Make sure you read the specific site description online before you confirm your booking. If the slope says moderate or high, don't book it. You will regret it. Also, I was appalled that they charge $7.50 for a bundle of wet wood. We regretted buying it in the park. Despite what they tell you, definitely try to buy your wood from local residents. Most of them charge $4.00 per bundle and their wood is dry. (Note: As of 2018, the park is claiming they no longer allow wood to be brought in, even from local businesses, which I think is a crime. They should be pushed to provide better wood, AND to still allow at least the local businesses to sell it. I have heard that the local businesses get their wood from the same places as the park, so there is no reason to ban it.)

Chris Keizer

I have been going camping at Keji for over 20 years. This place is the perfect summer vacation spot for families and friends. There are loads of trails to hike or bike on, plenty of different playgrounds for kids, a variety of beaches to swim at including a waterfall. They have a place to rent a canoe or kayak. The main campground also has showers with a soccer field next to it and an amphitheater. If you're looking for more of a secluded camping experience Keji also has outback camping. Last year was my first experience with outback camping and it was a blast. There are multiple campsites you can hike or canoe to. Each site has access to provided firewood, a water source nearby a place to hang your food away from animals and a very clean outhouse. The people at Jake's Landing (Canoe rental place) are very helpful and friendly. When renting a Canoe for our 2 day trip they showed us everything we needed to know for portaging, how to set the canoe on the car for safe travel and helped us pick out the right canoe for our trip. 100% going again this summer and will for years to come.

Jan Willem

Beautiful park. You can rent a kayak or a bike. Or just hike :-)

Twin Oaks

We love Keji. Relaxing, lake is warm in the summer and so many outdoor things to do

Matt Parker

Friendly staff, well maintained and great new washroom facilities.

Afshin Sadeghi

Must see. The most beautiful place in Nova Scotia. Lots of fun. You can enjoy its camp sites, Lakes, trees, trails, river, kayaking and canoeing and ...

Nadine Bierworth- Bourque

Such a beautiful spot. So much to see and do.

Amy

Nice place. It must be very beautiful in summer.

Hanzala Qureshi

Amazing National Park, lots of facilities, well organized and maintained camping spots and an awesome friendly staff.

Amanda Copp

Clean. Friendly. Love the scenery.

Dyana Fjeld

Beautiful scenery! Even on a drizzly Easter day!

Kirk Fougere

Amazing beauty, great hiking, mountain biking, and adventure for all ages.

Stick To The Story Media Productions

This is a magical place in the Heart of Nova Scotia..The Mi'kmaw Indigenous peoples Stories and culture come to life here. The Storyteller Night under the stars is a highlight and Ursula Johnson did a fantastic Job. She also took us on a tour of the Petroglyphs the following day. If you can sign up for this as it is limited but a must see. There are lots of easy trails or more difficult ones. The staff was very helpful at the visitors center. It was a pleasure to learn of the Mi'kmaw peoples and thanks again to Ursula Johnson!

Ken Dabkowski

Fantastic park. Very clean, well groomed hiking trails, gorgeous lake, solid campsites. Come for the fresh air and fresh smell of Christmas wherever you walk! The old growth hemlocks are cool too :)

Fiona Currie

Enjoyed a great backcountry site, complete with firewood, outhouse, and a cable & pulley system to store wildlife attractants safely.

Andrew A

No better place in the Maritimes to get your paddle on. Backcountry sites are sparse and spectacular providing all you'll need to get a true camping adventure. If you're lucky you'll spot deer, black bears & numerous water fowl as you paddle to your site and go to sleep with the soothing sounds of loons lounging on the lakes. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the Park and its history.

Sebastian Hause

Always worth a trip. Swimming in the lake (kind of rocky though) kayaking on the river, playgrounds and fire pits for barbecue available.

Jason Quinn

I've probably spent around 50 days in the back country over the past 10 years at keji. Love the park itself, but staff seem to have given up on maintenance. In an entire year they havent been able to supply wood to most backcountry sites which causes people to start burning things they find in the woods which damages the park. In addition many of the less used portgage routes they seem to have abandoned doing regular maintenance on. The roof on w1 is also going to collapse if they dont repair it.

Raquel Chubey

Not overly impressed that after booking and printing reservation on my phone, which os difficult in itself. That I get my two day total $69.80 that I then have to go and buy a valid entry pass!! What! That was almost same as 2 day camping! So sadly I canceled. Minus $11.00 for booking the reservation????

Angelia Corkum

If you love the outdoors you'll love Kejimkujik! There is so much to explore and take in I cannot wait to go back next year!

Ryan Hartlen

One of our favorite places. Lots to do. Great new MB trail! Backcountry is awesome on a canoe/kayak.

J Thomson

Every bit of this park was a treat, and I can't wait for my next trip there. The bike trails, water activities, and the campground are all second to none. Definitely a crown jewel for Nova Scotia.

Mr.Stromeh

Beautiful spot to camp, visit, a lots of activities could be done during the stay, Hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, ... the staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoy spending weekends here to clear my mind and relax.

Liam McPhee

Great place to get outdoors, with canoeing, hiking, biking and much more!

Ken Martell

Offers so much... camping, kayaking, swimming, hiking, wildlife, nature at it's best!

Alexandre Parent

Great national park. Something for everyone. Easy walking paths for young families. Great canoeing and paddling. Lake beaches. Vast network of backcountry trails.

Rashed Enam

Stayed on Onentik and had the lost amazing time. Hike, Kayaking ad swimming was great.

Don MacKenzie

Amazing. Absolutely beautiful. A must experience.

Mary-Jeanine Ibarguen

Omg, what a beautiful National Park! We asked at the first gate what we "had" to do and she said the "Hemlock & Hardwood" 5k hike, so we did. ..it WAS magical, just like she suggested. After a picnic lunch, we rented a canoe & headed up river for a bit. Again, a piece of heaven on earth. We managed to get several Red Chair shots too. The park is well cared for.

the Carth

Stayed at backcountry campsite #5, great site and great hike

Vishakha Vaishnav

Awesome place for short visit , long stay , camping. Has many short and long scenic trails. Biking and canoeing us available. We recently stayed at Jeremy's camp ground which was near small beach . Had amazing view . Absolutely loved it. Wish we could stayed for more days. We were 3 families, Everyone had a great time. Will definitely visit again

Catrina Barnes

Had the pleasure of canoeing to and camping at backcountry site #24 this past week - it did not disappoint! Outhouse on site was in pristine condition and the woodstove was well stocked. My husband went for a dip in the lake before supper and said the water was wonderful. I would definitely recommend booking in advance as backcountry sites fill up quickly - the online Parks Canada portal allows you to reserve in advance and pay all fees with the exception of your day pass for park entry. Keji is also a dark sky preserve allowing for amazing celestial viewing, so bring your telescope and chill out under a canopy of stars!

John Hayward

Great park for hikes, and canoeing. Nice place to swim. Activity wise, great place and I'd come back for, just not a huge fan of the main camping area. The campsites in the main area have no privacy, the camp is incredibly loud until silent hours. Our little kids had a hard time sleeping with all the noise.

Mihir Joshi

Must visit if you are into hiking and trekking. The forest alone is worth it. There are couple of beach sites where one can go swim or see the beautiful night sky. Canoeing and kayaking are also there on under $15 rent and cycles for $10 for 1 hour. Another thing worth seeing is the grafton lake.

Matt Hall

Beautiful place with lots of places to stay, even if you don't like camping! Don't miss the kayaking or canoeing on the Mersey River and/or on the lake (which can be windy). Keji is also a great place for rolling single-track trail running — and a world-class dark-sky location for stargazing.

Mitchell Carroll

We went back-country camping to island #16 for one night. It was a long canoe out (~5km) but not that difficult in the calm waters. Well worth the trip! The island was perfect size for the two of us. You can stand in the middle of the island and see all the water around you. I didn't want to go island camping on an enormous island only to have it feel like regular camping. The camping prices are very reasonable, but the canoe rental was steep ($50 for one day).

Simon Johnston

Great place for hiking and camping

Philip M Howard

A gem in the crown of the Canadian national park service... wilderness hiking, biking, paddling over many trails & waterways. Wild swimming in lakes and rivers. Nature photography. A dark sky preserve and quiet environment. High quality services & facilities.

Stephen Condran

Always love my time in keji. Nice campsites. Great staff. Lovely beaches and hiking trails. The new bathrooms are incredible, though I wish they put the same driers that they have in the family washrooms as the singles. The new wood with the hemp bags are awesome as it makes a good tinder. I do not have to bring the yellow pages when I come to keji now.

Cheryl Anne

A very beautiful, well preserved national Park. There are lots to see and explore in this place, one night is of stay is not enough. Only thing is, our firewood we bought from the entrance was not too dry so we had a hard time starting a fire. My best advice is buy firewood from the visitor center as it is surely dry. We rented an oTentik and did not disappoint.

Lalith Cheekoti

I don’t know where to start about this beautiful National Park and Jermys Bay Campground! oTentik by the slap foot beach in jermys bay was the best place to stay overnight, I was thrilled by the Night Skies, Milky way and Galaxies!!! Sipping my beer on the slap foot beach shore with the birds chirping and tiny waves gazing the stars is a most memorable experience. The wonderful staff of Parks Canada really love their job, park and make it a pleasant experience overall.

Thomas Hewlett

Hiking trails were well kept, and never found myself feeling too far from my starting point. While some of the hiking trails weren’t the most exciting, I can’t comment on all of them. Camping seemed to be a popular attraction, and might potentially be a future interest of mine. Kayaking was a blast and I enjoyed exploring the lake. Some might find the lack of moving water somewhat boring, but it was interesting nonetheless.

Alex Hu

Easy to access and very nice park. The staff kindly helped us with our kayak rental and it was quick and easy. It was a calm and enjoyable experience.

Glenn Mason

What Nova Scotia looks like if we don't cut down and the trees!!

Kunal Gupta

Nice place for camping, blessed with natural beauty. Surrounded by beach and lakes. Good place for cycling , hiking and kayaking. Kayaks , bikes are also available on rent.

Brian Reid

Been coming here since 97 and I would be lost if I didn't get here for at least a weekend a year. When they say heaven on earth, they are referring to this place.

Ben Greening

This is a beautiful national park. With everything from camper camping to backwoods camping. If you like the out doors this is a must place to visit in Nova Scotia. I try and camp/visit at least once a year.

Matthew Overmars

I would live here if I could. We have gone two years in a row and am always leaving wishing I had more time there. What an amazing treasure to our province. Beautiful scenery, quiet and shaded campgrounds. Endless trails and nice little beaches. If you haven't been here yet, stay AT LEAST two nights. Go hiking, rent a canoe for an oir or two. You won't be dissapointed.

Neil Taylor

Closed due to covid for camping. Openfor day trips. Went on hike today little chilly but great fall colors.

Kye Glenham

Awesome place for hikes, camping and all sorts of other fun family and adventurous activities

Carrie Guo

My fav national park in east coast Canada! Me and my bf only spent one day and also was my first time here, it was definitely not enough! There’s so many place in the park that I can explore, everything is so gorgeous in the summer! We did canoeing ???? and hiking on #5 trail, and the weather was so perfect! We really enjoyed our Keji journey and definitely come back again! Next time we should plan on camping or even stay longer! Love this Kejimkujik Park so much!

Zachary Surette

This is my favorite place to go camping at during the summer, book early and you could be there for 2 weeks and never be bored. Plenty of biking and walking trails all throughout the park. Kayak and Canoe launch areas, as well as rentals of Kayaks Canoes, and Mountain Bikes all at a reasonable price. But in order to rent any of it you must have a credit card or I'D, and be 19 years of age or older. Camp sites have plenty of room and privacy of you position your vehicle and tent/trailer properly. As well as backcountry sites either hiking or paddling access. Plenty of wildlife including deer, otters, and various species of amphibians and reptiles. With the option of power or not, this is the best national/provincial park I have ever been to to date. And I've been trying to find good campgrounds for 18 years. Easily my favorite area and I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Keith Moores

I spent a weekend here in October 2017. It was closing for the season shortly, so the navigation buoys had been removed but we found our spot fairly easily. The landscape is pristine, services are top notch. Staff are very helpful and informative. We were lucky to have such nice weather for mid October, and we had a brilliant night sky. Check yourself often for ticks. They're problematic throughout south west Nova Scotia and Keji is no exception. We picked at least a dozen off the dog.

Jose Dias

A nice National Park with all the right elements. It could use a general store within the park but Caledonia is 20 minutes away with cute supermarket. Park staff is friendly and available. Campsite are level if not secluded but water is available nearby. Drainage is also very good after a heavy rain. Electricity is available on site but not all sites are electrical. Each site also has a fire pit and a picnic table with a stand(!) for a light. Check your listings.

Nicholas Beynon

make sure to rent a canoe to see more of Keji than just the campgrounds.

Alexander Elderkin

Great for family getaways with kids. Beautiful views over Kejimkijik Lake

Robert McInerney

This is one of Nova Scotia's finest parks in my opinion. The hiking, cycling, camping, and canoeing are superb. We have been coming here annually for many years now and marvel at the park's natural beauty with every visit.

Angie Romano

First time going back since I was child, and it did not disappoint. Highlights included the old growth forest trail (the Hemlocks trail by Big Dam- reminded us of an enchanted forest), and Mill Falls. I also recommend canoeing up Mersey River.

Mick Shea

An excellent campground provides easy access to beautiful beaches, great hiking and biking trails, a very affordable restaurant, and reasonably priced kayak or canoe rental.

Tony MacLean

Amazing park. I've taken my family there to the front country camping and they loved it. I also go every year with friends on a back country camping trip with canoes and we have such a good time every year!

Michael Locke

Absolutely beautiful. Rent a canoe and explore all the nooks and crannies (and islands and tributaries) of the lake. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff and rangers!

Cyrus Almeida

Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous experience entry fee 11.50 for 2 adult's for 24hours. One of the finest nature friendly National Park in NovaScotia. If you plan to stay for a day or two the tree houses in the park are the best option. There is a private beach ⛱ and the water is warm. You need a separate license if you want to do fishing here. Will definitely visit next summer.

Geri Barrington

A little piece of paradise not to be missed!

Vlad Chiriac

Great place to experience the outdoors. Outstanding place for astrophotography!

Kelly Mercer

This is one of the finest parks Canada has to offer. There are so many trails to explore and the scenery is amazing. My family spent about a week there and plan to spend another week there during the next few summers. It is only about a 2 hour drive from our home but it is worth it. I created a photo book for my family and friend and took nearly 2,000 photos during our stay.

Michael Anthony

Kejimkujik is the most beautiful place for camping in Nova Scotia. The area and scenery are absolutely unreal. From the front country to the back country you will never be displeased. We go at least once a year and we hit the back country sites with the canoes for several days in at utmost paradise type site.Highly recomend this place to anyone looking to have a nice family get away or go exploring the back country with a few friends. They also hold little workshops nightly for kids and adults a loke if thats what your into.

Breanna Marshall

Very beautiful park and the fact that it's a dark sky reserve automatically gives it 5 stars in my book. Plenty of opportunity to see deer, especially at in the evening and mornings along the main roads. I also saw a porcupine crossing the road at night (so be careful). There's tonnes of activities to keep you busy, such as going for walks/hikes, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, or just relaxing. The camping sites are pretty good

Kyle Bonnar

We went during the Dark Sky's weekend in an O'tentic and it was an eye opening experience ! Highly recommended. Park was clean, staff was great and theres lot to do for adults and children ! If you get a chance to arrive on the "Dark Sky's" weekend take advantage of it !

Adam Roy

Good staff, but the trails they recommended weren't super-amazing. We didn't plan a trip here, so that's maybe out fault. We were just driving the road that happened to m be then main entrance so we went through.

lilalex237

Washrooms and bathrooms were pretty clean. We rented a kayak and went on the lac, it was one of the best part of our trip. Each employee was able to speak fluently French and English. One of the most beautiful park we've done.

Anantha Sri Purnima

we spent one day and camped here for one night. the information handout given to us was very informative and helpful. it had suggestions for things to do in one day long exploring of the park. It included the must do and most visited spots of the park. the trails were well maintained for biking as well as hiking. the campsites had good bathroom and shower facilities. we had a good time at this park.

J. Ross Mayhew

Biggest park in the province, this INCREDIBLE place has a bit of something for everyone. The wilderness feel to even the tamer parts of the park, is a TRUE joy, and just knowing that this huge chunk of Nova Scotia is preserved more or less indefinitely, does my heart good. Wonderful for hiking, whether for a few hours or a few weeks in the back country... and it has DELIGHTFUL canoe/kayak routes such as the Frozen Ocean loop, which has conveniently situated huts to shelter in, and well maintained portages. WARNING: do NOT venture out too far into the biggest lake there, in little boats: just like on all large lakes, the weather can change in an instant and you could be capsized by the surprisingly large waves which can develop!! This is NOT a lake for newbies: if you want to go very far from shore, make sure you have survival equipment, wear your lifejacket even if you are a strong swimmer, and watch the weather like a hawk.

Domenico Lucinio

Clean new bathrooms. Nice trail system and river/lake Only issue is the missing privacy between campsites. Not enough trees/brush.

Al Filleul

Always a pleasure to hike here! Did the Hemlocks and Hardwood trail. It's that time of year, heated up to +13 so snow was mushy and a bit icy. No problem, beautiful day so just took our time.

Barry Milne

Our wilderness camping trip was amazing...great to get away from the busy day to day left and relearn how to be quiet.

Kelsey Elbazi

Always a great time camping here

Mike Kinsella

Did a quick stop and went to the falls. Easy to access only a short 100m ish walk from the parking lot and only about 1km into the park. Water was warm for swimming. Found baby turtles, frogs and fish. Nice bathrooms and day use facility.

Samantha A.

If you are just starting to camp or want it easy, go tent a few nights in Jeremy’s bay. If rain is forecast the lower sites closer to the water 148-150s get muddy so up around 98 is better. Take the kids 7+ on the bike trail to Jakes landing and through to Kedge beach and back is cool, 12.6 km return. Boardwalk sections right through old forest and water on both sides of the trail into the mangrove area before Jakes landing. Lots of mosquitoes at kedge beach so bug spray needed. It was a great activity to get ice cream at kedge beach and you bike on multi use a gravel with just a few odd rocks, easy hike/bike trail that only has one short steep part before you coast down to kedge beach. Jakes landing rent a canoe. Keji should make better or photo maps of the island for the canoe routes for the lake as the islands vs land points can be deceiving and some friends got lost.

Sean

I've been going to Kejimkujik for over 30 years and it's still the same Keji I grew up to love. The more you put into the park, the more you get out of it. Hiking, canoeing, exploring, and learning about the history and nature of the area are how you can really uncover what Keji has to offer. The recent addition of new facilities makes for a more comfortable stay than before.

We visit here at least once a summer and we love it more every time. The trails are very well maintained and well outlined on the maps. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and this is a worthwhile place to go.

The Gardening Astronomer

I have loved this place for 40 years. You can camp in a regular campground, or hike or paddle to the backcountry, but you need to reserve early in January to get the best sites. There are good trails for day hikes. Hemlocks and Hardwoods includes old-growth forests. The regular campground will be closed for the entire 2020 season for washroom renovations. Because if the skies, it is an RASC Dark Sky Preserve.

Damian Hall

Interesting overview, well kept grounds, v clean washroom.

Kenneth Carmichael

All Parks Canada sites are special in their own way. Kejimkujik is a great place to enjoy forests and lakes. Canoeing and kayaking here is excellent. October is a great time to come, as the fall colours blend beautifully with the tall green hemlocks and pine trees. If visiting in the summer be sure to book your camping reservations ahead of time, this park fills up fast!

Helen Larsen

I wish we could have spent more time here. Would love to have rented a canoe and explored some of the waterways in the park. We hiked the gold mine trail as well as the old growth hemlock trail. Beautiful views, nice quiet forest.

Sepali Samanmali

What a fascinating park... a lot of things to do…hiking, biking, Kayak, camping....The day we went was a heavy raining day but still, we enjoyed it lot...A must see a place in Nova Scotia and you need days to explore the entire park. Staff in the information center and the entrance were very helpful and the introductory video about the park will feel to explore the park more. We were lucky to see a Deer and some birds. Kids have a lot to learn and explore in this place and kids in our team were very hesitant to leave the park midst heavy rain. Park has several programmes for kids as well as adults especially camping, biking and opportunities to experience the night at the park. A very scenic place to enjoy nature and learn history. You can find a small gift shop in the visitor centre if you wish to grab something to memorized this captivating place. The day we went café wasn’t open and only dining area is nearby restaurant which is only 500 m away from the park. Only advise is to bring mosquito repellent as everywhere you go, you get covered by mosquitoes. You can contribute to the park by keeping it clean and staff doing a great job with that....

Leah Parsons

Beautiful park but there were so many mosquitos when we were there! Wasn't expecting that. We had to stay covered up and had to keep moving so we wouldn't get bit. It was gorgeous though with the waterfalls/creek and the lakes.

Erich Duff

Not bad. Decent campsites, except they're gravel. Leeches in the lakes. One shower building for the entire place (and, inexplicably, they close out for cleaning from 7:15 to 8:15 every morning - what a dumb time to do that). Park Rangers don't seem to patrol much, which means lots of loud people and loud music.

R Brocke

Love going to Keji and it's only 20 minutes away from my cottage

Thomas Wong

Nice view! Access to Beach! The trail is around the Lake, fabulous siteseeing walking trail. Wildlife such as chipmonk can be seen very closely. Worthy to visit!

Carl Mangali

Perfect for a weekend getaway :) hunted some shrooms!

Travel On Roads

Best sporting area for Kayaking.. Canoe ride is the best there these days... Good maintained park with Campsites.Campsite M30, Meadow loop, Amazing Facilities for Camping with Drinking water Connection & Fire hoses after every 15 sites.Clean & well established Washrooms. This Campsite has a pretty close access to the Beach.Jake's landing also well good for Canoe and bike rentals????????Merrymekedge Beach was also Fantastic ????

Ravi Canada

Beautiful place with lots of trails and scenic river side views.

Amanda Collins

A true gem in the heart of Nova Scotia. Wonderful for day use with lots of trails and available picnic tables. Public beaches. Public washrooms. A visitor information centre. We personally love to Camp here. It is one of our favourite national parks. Love the upgrades made to the bathroom this year. It is great to have showers so close to camp sites! Jake's Landing offers canoe, kayak, and bike rentals.

Helen Merlot

Backcountry campsites are gorgeous. You have the site to yourself, firepit - wood is supplied at the site! - and well constructed privy pit (aka not too smelly). Paddling is recommended, portage trails are well maintained. Backcountry hiking (perimeter trail) is NOT recommended. This trail is not well maintained. Expect to walk through boggy sections and getting lost is very possible (a lot of the trail is grown-over). Kayak and canoe rentals are available. Canoes are good quality. I recommend renting a kayak elsewhere if you are paddling any real distance. MEC in Halifax is recommended.

Kathryn C

Amazing staff, clean washrooms, friendly relaxed campers.

Joe Derrick

This summer was our first time at Keji. Being from New Brunswick our family was very familiar with the local national parks and wanted to branch out and see more of the Maritimes. I'm glad we did. We spent most of our time IN the park hiking, biking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, geocaching, and relaxing around evening campfires. We also took advantage of the park's location within the province and drove to Port Royal and Fort Anne National Historic Sites (our kids love collecting the Little Xplorer dog tags). All-in-all, it was a great week. Please note, the main campground is closed next year (2020) for upgrades but the park will be open for hiking, biking, canoeing, etc.

JammyHorizon17

Great camping spot first time i went we had a campsite with alot of hornets and it kinda freaked me out but its beautiful down there i like it so much that in a dream i dirt biked from westchester to the canoe shack there Will definitely go again.

Glenn Kinkaid

Great camping experiences here. Kids love it.

Night Star

We only stayed two nights. Next time I will be two weeks. Such a beautiful park. Quiet. Brought our Kayaks and launched from Jake's Landing .... stunning scenery. Staff was friendly as usual for a National Park

john jodrey

Too loud. Rap music, swearing loudly and being drunk makes for poor neighbours when camping . Not plamning on going back any time soon.

Mike Ou

The only National Park comes with National Historical Site. Nice place to know about aboriginal history. The huge lake is ideal location to canoeing/kayaking. The camping sites are tranquil and beautiful. The seaside park is gorgeous and spectacular. I saw some seals in the seaside park last time.

Aly Murphy

So many memories here! Amazing camping, wonderful trails for biking and hiking, wildlife all over and peaceful beaches scattered throughout the park.

Nick Macisaac

Breath taking views and lots of beaches. Even being careful we still encountered ticks. There was a spider the size of a mans torso on the ceiling in our otentik, thanks Evan for taking care of that. We saw a turtle that was fun. Did I enjoy it yes. Would I go back no just because of the amount of bugs and giant spiders. There are lots of campgrounds that are just as nice with less creatures and ticks.

Brett Balser

This National Park and Historic site is one of my favourite places to visit in NS. The scenery here is absolutely beautiful, there is an abundance of wildlife that you're guaranteed to see if you spend any time here. The recreational programs are very cool and informative also. The hiking trails are some of the best in the province. This is a great place to camp for a few days to get away.

Brittany Moore's i n

Beautiful park, very well taken care of. The facilities are around every corner and very clean. We're super impressed and will be back soon!

Samiah Alam

Beautiful and serene park with lots of trails and not many people. We went on a rainy day but still enjoyed ourselves. Will be visiting again for an overnight trip so we can try more activities.

Siggi Bauer

Beautiful nature combined with a lot of outdoor sports. Excellent for hiking, biking and kajaking. Excellent campground, but showers are pretty far away.

MJ Seager

There is so much to do in Keji! Camping, hiking, picnics, swimming and water sports of all kinds. It is a National park so there is the fee to get in. Beautiful part of Nova Scotia! Worth the drive. So much to do.

Richard Owen

Recent facility upgrades are great. It's a dark sky preserve, so get there for a meteor shower if you can. Mid-August the lake was very warm.

jimnewcombe2112

Beautiful park, lots of hiking trails. Bathrooms are in good shape considering how much use they get. My one concern is that the park advertises itself as dark sky friendly yet all the lighting fixtures in the park are not the uplight cutoff style.

Catlin Lemoine

Very nicepark with scenic walking trails. Otentiks are wonderful to stay in. All facilities fairly well kept. Small kids might get bored, unless they enjoy long walks. Beaches are great, some pretty rocky tho. Playgrounds are around some camp sites. Maps available give a good lay of the land.

Sherry March

Beautiful park. Wonderfully taken care of. Incredible night sky viewing. First Nation storytelling with Ursula was the best part of our visit. Ursula is a fantastic story teller and I enjoyed her combination of Native language and English.

Larry Lanthier

Well maintained with camping, hiking trails and canoe/kayak rental. The Yurt is exceptional. Total shame it does not have winter camping.

Dawn Palmby

I missed out on the walking tours but they sounded amazing. Really great info at the visitor center. Great trails the water Rapids and falls were amazing. I would go back for the stargazing in a heartbeat!

Jo Strickland

We had a phenomenal stay at Keji. My only regret is that it wasn't longer. BUT we WILL return next year. It is very well maintained. The staff is always out and about checking on things. Waste receptacles are very well locked to keep out the wildlife. Trails groomed and the campground host was terrific for info. Our ONLY downfall while there was that the campfire wood was as wet as the day is long!!!! So if I can give a 4.75 stars I would. PLEASE get some dry wood for next season!!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves the outdoors tho. GREAT stay!!!

Lyndy Taylor

Beauty and tranquility in a bundle! Campgrounds are well laid out. Would love to see water hookup on site. Hopefully the renovation will offer more showers in closer proximity. Love to have 3 way hookup for campers! We would stay alot longer!!

M D

Perfect except mosquitoes. Love the nature.

Chris Henderson

Great atmosphere and lots to keep you busy. Only thing to complain about is the lack luster camp sites, just a bit too close for my liking. Not very secluded at all, but overall had a good stay. Very nice swimming hole and had tons of trails to enjoy.

Brent

I'm going to definitely come back to explore. Way more to explore and offer vs Algonquin Park.

Jared Oliver

Wish they hadn't cut down so many trees around the campsites. Not the same as it used to be

Merin Ali

Beautiful park, able to rent kayaks, canoes and bikes. Nice campground.

Stephen Rievaj

Best campground in the province if you're looking to ride bikes.

Ess G

They're working on a project to regrow trees. Bathroom facilities are quite new with wheelchair accessible bathrooms and showers. Lots to do here! And great for families and adults alike. We rented a canoe( reasonable rates) and saw lots of deer. The wood purchased here wasn't great for burning but it did the job.

Joanne Miller

We couldn't believe how big an area the park is...we were only there one night and had arrived early evening. ..we intend on going back for a whole weekend so we can explore the park better. I believe the camping grounds are closing for major upgrades in 2019 ....but the park will still be open. Call ahead to verify.

Joe Dickson

Kinda hard to not like Keji. It is THE "outdoorsy" place of Nova Scotia. As rugged as you want it to be. We biked 20km and 15km, separate trails. The new trial Umet-k (I think) has some nice burms, rolllers and some rock obsticles for the experienced MTB'ers. First section from the information station is all uphill, then has alot of rock crossings (where water would flow to protect the landscape) and not for beginners. Beginners with us walked their bikes over them. We even went for a dip in the river 2/3 the way through our ride!

Betty Wiswell

The only complaint would be the cost of wood. Just over 7$ to get 5 to 7 pieces of wood per bag and kindling is dry but has glue in the pieces. Lots of dead wood could be used from the park. Understand the need to keep the invasive bugs at bay, but at the cost per bag people will smuggle in their own to avoid the cost for what you receive. Maybe lower the price to 3.00 or 5.00 dollars.

Ken P

Absolutely beautiful park. Did a three day backcountry canoe trip with a group. Nice padded sites for tents, several fire pits, an outhouse and a good abundance of firewood. Saw countless Loons and was able to get very close at times before they dove and came up a 100 or so meters away. Very cool. Tried some fishing requiring a park licence which was almost 10 bucks per day. Caught a couple very small perch. One thing of note, in areas of low level and low moving waters there will be an abundance of leeches. If you have any scratches/cuts etc around your calves or ankles be prepared to fight some off. Definitely going back to take in some regular camping, kayaking, and fishing.

Jeff Thibodeau

Experiences of a lifetime, one of the best parks in Canada.

Aldric Comeau

Wish there was a restaurant and/or snack bar in the park. Very quiet and clean place to go relaxing. Nice and easy walking/biking trails. Good chance of seeing some wildlife. Great place for camping as well, just bring some snacks with you.

Vikki Pink

You pay a fee to get into the park unless you’re a season pass holder. However it is TOTALLY WORTH IT. Not only are there over fifteen hiking trails and spots to stop and check out the beautiful scenery but you get a lovely map of the entire park, and it’s just worth every penny (which is a small fee not even more expensive than a couple coffees). I did the hemlocks and hardwood trail and checked out mill falls. I didn’t hike mill falls but I stopped at the spot where you can access it directly. The other hike took me 1.5 hours because I was so excited about the scenery I kept doubling back and forth on the boardwalk trail. Very gorgeous and worth it. I just wish I had better planned so I could do more than the two trails. Next time!

Lorne Peach

Amazing hiking trails. It would be nice if the sites had water hook-ups for their electric sites.

L Tan

Great hiking trails and lakes. A lot of interesting guided tours (if available at time of visit). Good bathrooms/showers for camping. I do find the camp ground not so private because the trees are so sparse.

Kim Looyenga

Enjoyed our itent and trails. Will be visiting again for sure.

YJIN

Amazing park! All the facilities are renovated recently and Lots of activities to do.

Hetal Chudasama

Beautiful fall colors. And kayaking experience in fall season is amazing

Sarah Crosby

What a great place! Lots of trails for hiking or biking, shaded sites, wonderfully warm lakes for swimming. You have the option to rent kayaks, canoes, etc. Playgrounds for the kids. It is nicely tucked away from busy life, but only 15 minutes from grocery, hardware, and pharmacy stores if you forget anything! Just don't forget the bug spray!!!!

May Zhagro

A beautiful park with abundant trails for hiking and biking. We were fortunate to stay at the new Oasis glamping accommodations that just opened this summer (2021). Outside of the Oasis, we were provided with outdoor chairs, a picnic table, a fire area, and a food storage locker. Within the Oasis, there were several lights available, multiple outlets to charge your devices, and even a small heater for those colder nights. There is a new washroom, shower, and dishwashing facility nearby as well as two shorts trails and a small beach with a playground. The Oasis can comfortably fit two adults, we even managed to fit in three adults (two on the bottom and one on the net above). I would definitely recommend this experience for those that want to do camping in-style.

Lincoln Carr

Amazing national park with great facilities. Park is quiet and serene, great for star gazing (with the naked eye or telescope)because it is far enough away from large cities. Lots of wildlife and and trails, and also backcountry camping is available. Helpful and knowledgeable park staff assisted in finding the best place to use our telescope. Even though we went there mid-summer(August) the bugs weren't so annoying. Camping fees are reasonable with the option of radio-free(no music or noisy electric devices allowed, regular, and electricity included sites.

Tyler Fraser

Huge park. Beautiful trees and lakes. Go there, and bring your dingy, tube, canoe or kayak!!

Dylan Carlyle

Lovely park, very nice facilities and beautiful sights.

Melissa

Absolutely beautiful. We went camping for 3 days and spent the time relaxing and hiking the many trails. Its mainly known for their backcountry campsites many only accessible by canoe. Book early they fill up fast! If camping frontcountry they sell firewood for $7.00 a bundle and ice for $3.25. The ice is well priced but ypu can head to the store just outside the park for $5.00 bundles. Check out the old hemlock forest but be respectful and stay on the boardwalk. They have great facilities which include dish washing areas and hot showers in a main area which are cleaned daily from 7-8am. It is also a dark sky preserve so check out the sky circle for an amazing view of the night sky. If you head to Jeremys Landing they also rent kayaks and canoes. Average prices for canoes are $12 per hour, $50 a day and $165 per weekend.

Hillary

So beautiful and peaceful here. Nice visitor's center and easy trails.

Darlene Hart

Staying in back country, sites 24 and 18. I have visited the park every year for 40 years so know it well.. The toilets for this season have not even been swept out and the seats must be at least 40 years old. In this age of sanitizing everything it would be impossible to sanitize those. I know someone has been to the sites as the toilet paper containers have been filled. Thankyou. I love this park but disappointed that a little more attention hasn't been paid to the back country sites this year.

Marc Robichaud

Beautiful place to forget your daily routine for sure.

Ashley H

We stayed in the yurt with two adults and two children. It was a great experience, was roomy, and loved the secluded privacy. The road to get in needs the large holes filled because our minivan kept bottoming out (we got to know which ones were worse, so could ride the edge of the narrow roadway). The outhouse was very clean and a short walk away, potable water supply was closer and easily accessible, flushing toilets, sinks, and electricity was nearby at Whynot's Adventure Outfitters. Unfortunately it rained our first whole day and the morning of the next but once it cleared up, it was lovely. Bugs at the end of July weren't too bad, though we kept ourselves dosed in bug spray. Mattresses on both the bunks and three larger bed, like the oTENTiks have would have made it much better. The futon was decent but felt icky knowing there was no way for it to be adequately cleaned between visitors (so glad we brought our own queen sized waterproof mattress cover!). We signed up and paid for the night skies walk and as it was raining, we were told we would be called if it was too be cancelled. No call came, we checked but there were no voicemail messages (in case service dropped), and the rain had stopped, so at 945pm we stepped out and could see the stats, so assumed it must be a go. We drove for 15-20 mins to get to the other campground in the darkness, only to eventually find a small sign buried in a parking, in a spot only visible by foot, that said it was cancelled. So we drove the 15-20 mins back to the yurt. Disappointed and frustrated would be good descriptors of this particular experience. Unfortunately, it was not offered the only other night we would have been able to attend. We attended a couple other educational gatherings about Kejimkujik and the L'nu people that first inhabited the land. The guides were easy to understand, spoke clearly, and seemed to have a passion and connection to the land and people. It was a very valuable experience. Thank you! We rented a canoe, standup paddleboard, dry bag, and an inflatable mattress pad from Whynot's Adventure Outfitters. Prices seemed good and the service providers were friendly and knowledgeable. It was a perfect day to be out on the water; calm, serene, warm, sunny, and no annoying bugs. Definitely a memorable and worthwhile experience for our whole family. We will definitely be back.

Frans Sanders

Beautiful park with great programs and of course lots of nature and awesome kayak and canoe opportunities. Somehow the lake is really warm at Jeremy’s which was great as it still provided some needed cooling from the hot days we had here not too long ago. And yes, the small animal on the picture is a swimming squirrel :-)

Glenn Balser

This was my first time staying at Keji in years. The place is great. We had a nice site for our tent and the new washroom and shower facilities make you that much more comfortable.

travis kendall

Best back country experience in NS. Cape chignecto a close second. Staff are super knowledgeable, always come to them with questions.

Darrell MacDonald

Awesome place! We go back year after year and have been doing that since I was a kid. Definitely recommended for anyone that has never been.

Jamie Hirtle

This park is our sanctuary! There are so many things to do here including hiking, camping, kayaking, geocaching and picnicking. The park is our absolute favourite place to visit!

Gordon Walter

Just had 3 great days a Keji! The new washrooms are fantastic! The weather was awesome, great to finally get back "home"!!

chris c

The best place in Nova Scotia to explore the wilderness...camp..and escape from daily life. ❤❤

shanee gomez

Such a beautiful campsite and lots of things to do. If you're just staying for a day, there's biking trails, you can kayak or canoe, there's a beach. You will not be bored. During the summer they've got a cafeteria to order food from. When night falls you can see the pretty stars. Just astounding views.

Matthew Wainman

Love Keji. Such a great place for star gazing. The air is so clean and they keep the place as natural as possible while still giving you all the amenities you need. The back country loops are a fun way to push yourself little further. Rent a canoe or kayak, paddleboard or bike and hit up the lakes, rivers or trails. There are many shows and events planned, so bring the whole family for a lot of fun. Love this place!

Crissy Adams

Such a beautiful park, and the staff amazing!!

Stephen LaLonde

The park is a gem of bio diversity. Even though half of the hiking trails were still closed due to the damage and clean up needed from hurricane Dorian, a number of beautiful trails were open and the staff were informative and very helpful. The park will be back to full operation in a few days and it is an experience you should not miss.

Ryan Yates

Massive park, nice campgroup which was maybe 30 feet from the lake. The trail was nice, only downpoints were their online page suggested outside wood was banned only to learn when we got in you could bring in certain wood. Also there shower stations weren't in the camp common areaa, which was a little off putting, also it took a while to get through the hate which issues your camp permit

Lianne E. Chang

Great for everyone. There are accessible accommodations. A place to relax or go kayaking, trail walking, and enjoy a campfire. When the night sky is visible its breath taking.
