Not worrh the confusing trail system for those with disabilities. The maps do not show your current position and do not align with the directions. (NESW)

Deborah Lounsbury

Arisaig Provincial Park has lots of picnic tables, washrooms and a beautiful view of the Northumberland Strait and lighthouse view. Taking a drive down to the lighthouse is a must as they sell delicious ice cream and the view of Frenchman's Barn is photo worthy!

This is a signature Antigonish visit. It's a bit of a trek down to the shore (head for the interpretive centre for parking, then take the well-marked, tended trail down; it is not wheelchair accessible). There are ultimately two exits from the trail to the beach, either is fine, you're heading a little further up the beach, away from the wharf. You'll exit by, or cross, the brook. Another 60-80 metres, and you'll have a nice sandy bottom into water that slowly gets deeper. Up on the beach, back against the cliffs, you'll find fossils, both on the beach and often by pulling out the rock.

Nice short hike, a little hilly in some spots, but not too strenuous. Stairs down to the shore, you can walk along the beach and do fossil finding. There's a little waterfall off the beach side. We saw fish trying to jump up the falls. Great spot for kids, but not strollers. Picnic tables for snacks or lunch.

A stunning park great for camping and hiking. The terrain here is most anicent silurian rock pokes out from the earth. Beautiful is an understatement, there is also a waterfall.

Quaint park, well constructed stairs and boardwalks. A picturesque view of Arisaig Point Lighthouse (replica), Wharf, Northumberland Strait, Pictou Island, and Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada's smallest province. . Along the shore, active eroding cliffs, visible in both directions, with a tiny waterfall at the end of the trail and empties into rocky beach without a visible entry into the ocean. Great day-parking, easy pull-through spots for RV or Trailer rest area, trees to provide shade, while you explore the park. "I recommend you dip your foot in the ocean, or walk a kilometre of eroding banks with your camera" Thanks to a nice local lady (with a wet black dog) for her helpful suggestions, so we didn't miss the best parts. Love the view, particularly Sunset.

A beautifully well maintained walking and picnic park. Wooded trails are gorgeous and offer a great place for both nature lovers and fitness enthusiasts to enjoy. There are sections of the park that showcase educational information on local geological history, for those who might be interested. Beach access at the rear of the park is an added bonus. A great spot for those who enjoy exploring the hidden gems of Nova Scotia.

Meticulously cleaned, spacious, nice large day-use spots with picnic tables. Lighthouse area offers a couple benches and picnic tables as well. Hiking trails are plentiful for all user levels.

Gorgeous park. Nice trail above the beach alongside it. Saw some birds and a hummingbird. Looked for fossils in the stones. Skipped stones too. Lovely spot. Clear water for a nice dip on a hot day! Rocky shore ♡

Arisaig has nice trails for walking and some interesting geological features. We even found a few fossil containing rocks on our last trip. Remember that you're not supposed to remove fossils when you leave.

Riley Kellock

One of my favorite places to walk and take pictures in all of Nova Scotia

Aldon Brewer

Low tide visit is a must! We walked the beach and combed for rocks and treasures, saw the waterfall and lighthouse and enjoyed the ABCs of Canada along the trail. Great hike with easy to moderate difficulty. There is stair access to the waterfall.

A hidden gem in Nova Scotia off the beaten path from most. There is an extensive trail system, fossil combing, and great views of the Northumberland Straight. Nearby, there is a great little beach with an ice cream stand inside of a lighthouse

I've always loved going to Arisaig Park. It's a beautiful area with even more beautiful views. Not to mention, it's where my Beautiful wife said Yes! And side topic...there are more fossils on this beach than you could ever look at in a day. So much fun!!

Very nice view and very pretty

Donald Mac Fadyen

Spent a lovely day there...walking trails, the shoreline walk was interesting found a few interesting items including a piece of beach glass. We brought a picnic enjoyed the view. Only negative comment there were no garbage cans in the picnic area. The evidence of empty cans and bottles plus wrappers may not have to be picked up by staff were the proper garbage cans available.

Great place to go for a hike down to the waterfall. Hike is low difficulty and takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to get to the waterfall. You can also swim in the ocean here but Beach area is rocky.

Love it ! Well groomed trails!

Beautiful park with great spots to find real fossils. However, pay attention to the tide as you don’t want to be caught by it. We were her before and found great stuff. This time the tide was high so we couldn’t get to the best spots but still found small ones. Jus be patient when turning over the many shale pieces. For the geologists under us, this is a very important spot as it highlights a relatively small sliver of time, only four million years.

Michael Williston

Easy trail and beautiful waterfall

Nice park that reaches the water of the Northumberland Strait. We walked in a group of folks led by my daughter and a friend. They took some courses to be nature leaders, made available by local government. In return they have to lead some hikes for locals. We had a group of 15 I think, including my grandson 6, and a few classmates and some parents and friends. The trails were a bit icy in places, as it was March 16th. I had picked a stick from a pile of cut brush near the park entrance. Useful walking stick for the few bad places. There were outhouses at some spots on the path, & a roofed picnic area with benches. We got to the waterside, not the waters edge as the trail was too slippery and steep there. The ice at the edge formed a heart-shaped hole I tried for a picture of. Hard to get close enough for a good angle. Nice hike, nice day, nice people!
