This place is great. I've been there a couple of times and it's always a wonderful experience with all of the butterflies in the conservatory. Definitely recommend them. The photo of the Bee is outside so don't worry about being inside with him lol

The Botanical gardens were wonderful. But... What was once a magnificent Rose Garden featuring many old roses not available any more has been allowed to deteriorate into a sad mess. Empty beds in some cases and others the bushes aren't growing because they're almost buried. Looks like they've just kept putting mulch on every year and they're being smothered. It was so sad and was the specific reasons we went there. The climate here should produce fabulous plants with little care. I expect more from the school of horticulture. What we did like was the variety of trees and I learned of a new one cashed Silk tree. Such an interesting species.

There is a lovely garden, but I usually visit for the butterfly conservatory, which my daughter loves. It's better to go on the off-season, as you don't need to pay parking and prices are lower.

Beautiful place ! Stop by for a visit, parking is cheap I believe, we used the wego bus system so we didn't park there. The store they have there is expensive everywhere you shop is highway robbery in niagara falls. But the butterflies are beautiful!

This garden is so beautiful both winter and in summer. Our close friend proposed here in the garden this winter. Thankfully no one there because of the Pandemic, just the four of us wondering around. Some parts are closed: Butterfly Cafe, Butterfly conservatory, washrooms and the courtyard.

Amazing staff. Our daughter and son had an amazing time. John, Lane and Ryan were fabulously helpful. There's nothing more precious than having your toddler's play gently with butterflies. Wonderful family memory making experience. Today was our third year anniversary of bringing our son to the location for the first time.

There's something deeply unsatisfying about giving a botanical garden a three-star review, but here we are. The reasoning is simple, though: the gardens are in desperate need of upkeep and maintenance. There are weeds in most (if not all) of the plots. Plants are overgrowing. You can imagine a version of the gardens that are tended would look like. I guess times are tight for Niagara Parks.

Beautiful gardens. The best part is after you pay $5 for parking it's free to roam around the gardens. If you're a nature lover it's a great way to spend an afternoon on the cheap in Niagara. Just bring your own drinks cause the cafe charges $4 for drinks. Very overpriced.

This is an interesting spot to visit. They harvest their own butterflies as well as ship in butterflies from around the world so there are always 40 + species on display. We had access as part of the Niagara Falls Wonder pass which provides free transportation on the WeGo hop on/hop off bus service. You can get through the exhibit in an hour or less. In the summer you can also see the botanical gardens.

An absolutely well maintained and very beautiful garden. It is definitely one you must explore while in this area. The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. The floral clock is wonderfully planted. The tiny bird houses were absolutely adorable. It was very pretty to see the butterflies feeding off the flowers. There are many exotic and tropical plants that would usually be hard to come by in this environment, so it was cool to see them. The admission fee to the conservatory area is reasonable. Admission is not required for the garden itself. Very peaceful and tranquil to experience. Excellent for those picturesque moments. Definitely recommend.

Lovely botanical gardens just 10 minutes from the falls. Almost 100 acres of gardens and woods. Come through the different seasons to see rhododendrons, azaleas, bulbs and roses (over 2,400 roses). They also offer horse-drawn carriage rides in the summer. And best of all it's free (but parking nearby is $5). A lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Gardens were not fully staffed during the pandemic and as a result the gardens did not look their best (lots of weeds, sections became overgrown and the Botanical Gardens sign had no flowers). Overall a beautiful place to visit that will only get better.

Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens is always a beautiful place to go for a walk. The vary large grounds offers many beautiful gardens and a Copy Pond. A large Art Display at the entrance, and the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory. It's all very well maintained, and always a pleasure to visit.

Mind you for obvious reasons it's humid I the butterfly conservation but still worth doing. Staff are knowledgeable and very nice. Make sure not to step on any butterflies

If you're a plant geek or just love nature walks, this is a beautiful place to visit. There's so much to see and explore from all the different and unique garden spaces to the amazing butterfly conservatory. If walking isn't your thing you can relax on a horse drawn carriage for a tour around the gardens. There's also a little cafe with food and beverage options.

The Botanical Gardens we're beautiful. They also had a Gnome Village and Train Garden. If you visit Niagra Falls you should include this in your itenerary . I would rate this a 5 star however, the Gardens themselves are a bit smaller than expected. The gnome village is cute and quite imaginative. Something kids and adults will enjoy along with the Train

Nice garden, and it's free. We went in early fall but would recommend going in the spring or summer when there's more flowers. We spent about 30 minutes here, but I'm sure you could spend longer if you came for a picnic. There are public bathrooms and a cafe closeby

Absolutely beautiful. The only downside to the whole experience is the limited capacity thing. We kind of rushed it. I would say a visit after the pandemic is over is in order. Bring a high quality camera if you have one. High end phones work well. A SLR with a telephoto lens will let you pick off some really nice shots from one location. I unfortunately didn't bring my SLR and had to make do with my phone.

Nice place thou in need of some work as it's a bit sparse in some areas currently but it does not take away from the beauty and splendor enjoyed. Benches scattered thru the area gives you the ability to sit and enjoy the lovely plants and open scenery. The covered tree grove was a joy to walk thru and the creative grounds delighted to stroll. Will be back for sure.

This is not the first time I have come here. We went into the butterfly greenhouse. A most enjoyable ex0erience for young and old. To see butterfly's exit the crystalist and expand their wings, and then fly out and travel from flower to flower in the greenhouse. A most enjoyable way to spend the with children or grand children.

Not busy during Civic Holiday weekend. Parking $3/hr. Pay for 2 hrs and enjoy the horticulture. Just nice place to sit down and enjoy the company you’re with. Apart from the butterfly exhibit, there isn’t much to really see other than enjoying the scenery.

Hadn't visited here in a few years and decided to stop by. You now have to pay for parking which used to be free. Extremely disappointed in the gardens many of them looked unkept and were full of weeds. The Niagara Parks Commission used to have standards and this used to be a world class facility. What happened?

This was another item a part of our Adventure Pass that my husband and I got. There wasn't alot in bloom in the main garden area at the time when we were there, but they do have a Butterly Conservatory inside that was amazing. One of my favorite places we stopped. Many different beautiful varieties of butterflies flying around you and some of them will land on you too. Really neat experience.

We were there in November and it is not a perfect time to visit there. However, I think if you are in Niagara falls and you visited that, you should see this place too???? Also you can use benches and tables to have cup of coffee or a snack ???? As my experience, there is one of most beautiful 0laces in Niagara falls ???? If you are there, you can visit butterfly conservatory too????

Was there about 10 days ago. You are outside so it is a little safer but at least bring you mask and sanitizer wipes because none are provided and if you want to sit on the bench or use the bathroom you will need them.

Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens are certainly worth a detour. It takes at least an hour to visit the gardens. The flowers are well-maintained and look absolutely stunning. The only issues are the expensive parking fees that should be replaced by a simple ticket booth with an actual person inside.

Disapointed that the restaurant was not open. We were hoping to grab lunch and take photos in the garden. Thought this would be a great way to celebrate a birthday during this pandemic. The parking machines also only took credit cards. The gardens however were beautiful as usual.

This was wonderful. Short video beforehand was very informative. Huge numbers of butterfly's that land on you. Opportunites galore for picture enthusiasts. While we were here there also a reptile exhibit with an adorable baby sloth.

You’ll love taking friends and family here of all ages from learning something new to appreciating nature at its best. Open all seasons so you can have a warm humid day amidst the cold of Canadian winters. Nearby to Niagara Falls too to make a day or weekend out of it. Worth the drive in the summer if you like hiking surrounding areas or even bring your bike! Good location with plenty to enjoy in the surrounding areas! We started the tour by visiting the Butterfly Conservatory and it was such a neat tour. It's packed in the summer I would believe but since it's off season, the number of visitor is nice so not too crowded. The pricing is on their website but I think I payed for cad18 per person if I'm not mistaken. The butterfly conservatory started with the brief movie about how they perform their job in daily basis and it was so educational. The movie is shot perfectly. I had fun watching it, in fact, it was too short for me I want morrreee. The conservatory was nice and warm and there's so many butterflies literally from various species. I wish they could give us more info about the name of those insdie the conservatory may be with banner or something attached on the wall probably. The whole attraction is huge so you can walk around to the other side to check other one. I went to check the Rose garden and the botanical garden. It's such a relaxing beautiful location. Worth your money and totally recommended.

We stopped at the butterfly house and it was impressive. There were many more butterflies than the place I visited in Key West. The butterflies would land on you and you saw many different kinds. The staff said there was over 40 species of butterflies in the house. The grounds were clean and looked nice. The WEGO bus can drop you off easily and is worth doing. During peak tourism times I'm sure finding parking could be a challenge.

Wow .. what a beautiful place ! We stopped there on the way to Niagara On The Lake. If you want to take a relaxing stroll through meticulously kept floral gardens & a spectacular arboretum, then this is the place. There is a butterfly conservatory that is on premise but decided not to visit because of time constraints. This is a place where you could spend just a few hours or spend all day. Up to you. We spent about three hours walking around the gardens and felt very satisfied with our experience.

Beautiful place. I enjoyed everything about it. It is free. Parking is $3/hour - if you want to visit the butterfly conservatory ($17pp) and the botanical garden, then 2 hours should be enough. If you want to have a picnic after that, you should probably get a parking ticket for 3 hours. They have a beautiful open space for picnicking.

It's a wonderful place! Highly recommended to check here in spring and summer time especially when tulips are flowered. Very amusing and relaxing place and it's one of the bests botanical gardens in the area. Maybe it's not everyones top priority when they check lots of tourist attractions in Niagara Falls area but it should be! It's my favorite place and I'm eagerly looking forward to be there as soon as possible!

Very beautifully maintained gardens. We were here for some tulip watch and we're not disappointed. There was a stretch of red and orange ones an were very fresh and beautiful. The garden is located in a convenient place and ample free parking. Nice place to go with family day trips.

A unique experience for the kids and they loved it. Not every day the kids get to watch the butterflies land on them. It was very educational for the kids and they got to see many animals they don't normally see. This was great because we picked to go on a rainy day but anytime would be good.

This a beautiful locations for gardens. It sets next to the river and next to the golf course. The floral clock is just past it. Definitely worth your time. Remember that flowers bloom in there related seasons. Plan to go for your favorite blooms.

This place has amazing spots to take pictures. We have always wanted to go and finally got a chance this weekend. Parking payment $3/hour which is a great deal to park there, is a must they patrol the parking and give tickets to those who haven’t paid. The butterfly conservatory is open, admission separately. They also have a horse drawn carriage that takes you around the whole garden and costs $25/person.

My wife and I have enjoyed going to Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens for over 45 years. Last year we couldn't go because of COVID-19. We're now vaccinated and decided to make a trip to see the Botanical Gardens. What a shock to see the poor condition of the gardens. One of our favorite things to see is the Rose Garden. As we entered the Rose Garden area we couldn't believe what we saw. All rose beds were left unattended. Weeds had taken over most beds and the rose's were infested with bugs and had their leaves stripped. Many rose's were dead or near dead. In all the years of going to the Botanical Gardens I've never seen anything like this. The lack of attention to maintain all their gardens was consistent. We were so depressed seeing how the Niagara Parks had let these amazing gardens go. Now, we all know COVID-19 has made our lives difficult, but I'm not understanding why the staff couldn't still maintain the gardens. The fact the work would be outside and social distancing would be easy to achieve, why would these gardens be left to degrade? The cost to restore these gardens to their former beauty will surely cost a significant amount of money and time. Unfortunately, I won't be going back to Niagara Parks for the rest of this year.

Beautiful flowers and plants. It will take anyone probably less than an hour to watch what's on display, but the scenery will likely make it worth your time. It was nice to slow down and appreciate the beauty of nature. Recommended for those visiting Niagara.

Many prepossessing botanical gardens such as Shade garden, Vegetable garden, Herb garden, Rock garden, Rose garden, Parterre garden, and Woodland garden are spread in an about 100 acre area. It, also, encompasses a horticultural college. The gardens, in the proximity of Butterfly Conservatory, are attractive, educative, informative, and exhilarating. Depending upon your interest and availability of time, you can easily spend 2 - 4 hours. Surprisingly, not many people know that Niagara is not only about the incredible falls, but it is also a house of a lots of gardens and other attractions.

They have little village of miniature houses that’s a very unique idea! Very enjoyable experience just don’t expect it to take up a day. It takes like an hour to go through.

The botanical gardens are really lovely and the nature is so relaxing. It is easy to walk around here, and when we went it was the summer time so all of the plants were in bloom. They have lots of trees, flowers, and bushes to walk past. The garden is well-kept. There is parking available nearby, and there are a few food places. It was very pretty and if you are in the area it is worth it to come here. The Butterfly Conservatory is nearby so if you come here I recommend seeing both attractions at the same time.

Wonderful place! It is warm and kept humid for the butterflies, so dress accordingly. If you have little kids that hate bugs or flying things this is not the place for them, we saw several kids have a melt down over butterflies getting too close to them. Restaurant, butterfly pallivion and washrooms were closed due to covid restrictions. The pagoda inside the rose garden had a riped roof. Weed grew in flower beds. The place felt derelict and under maintained. Sad.

Beautiful park that is free to access. They have all different types of gardens in bloom during the spring, summer and fall and looks like a winter wonderland when the snow falls. There are over 2km of walking trails but they are not cleared during the winter so be prepared to walk through snow.

What a beautiful place at the falls - about 10 Kms away. Lush green premises and the range of flowers was awesome. Very well maintained and serviced.Entry is free and a nominal parking charge of 5 bucks. There's so much to see and discover - you will need the full day to see everything. Runs parallel to the American border and the roads approaching are really scenic.

Such a nice and relaxing place to visit. I can't begin to imagine that amount of effort that goes into keeping this place open. They had a type of butterfly with the most beautiful blue color on it's wings. I am not a big fan of butterflies but this place made me one. I have always found them to be pretty but little more than that. After seeing them eating, watching how the people go around looking for babies, and seeing the tress.... We weren't even planning on coming here today. We finished inside the conservatory and started aimlessly wandering. There are watermelons and kale grown here! I got chased by a gigantic bumblebee. It was hilarious. The gardens are very well-maintained. It's a very quiet area too as it isn't crowded like inside the conservatory or Clifton Hill. Highly recommend if you've got an hour to spare.

Parking was $5 - not much shade to park in so if you go on a hot day be ready to leave your doors open a bit when you're ready to leave LOL! It has a variety of trees and flowers and even some vegetables. The grounds are very well maintained and on a warm day its a real pleasure to take a nice leisurely stroll and unwind along its paths. The gardens are free but you can also visit the Butterfly Conservatory which is also there for a reasonable and worthwhile fee. A good place to enjoy.
