Quiet little park right next to a mountain. Day use area has picnic tables and fire pits next to the beach and a hiking trail. Campsites are not all level or big enough for long trailers, but are private and clean. Every campsite also has a fire pit and picnic table. Rates are reasonable. Worth a stay if you can deal with the long drive to get here.

Had my favourite hikes in NL!

Stayed in the overflow; not regular site. By choice. Tha water on my doorstep, the fire burning and the wildlife abundant. Staff at park helpful, laid back and downhome kinda people.

Tyler Temple

Solid little hike

The sites are private with mature trees and we had no trouble with our 21' trailer. In the area, we went to Bottle Cove as well as the beach on the campgrounds. You can get WiFi at the check-in point, but there is no cell service. We had to drive to just outside of Frenchman's Cove. There is a restaurant in the area (Myrtle's) and a chip truck (Big Tom's I think). There is also a comfort station, and throughout the park are the cleanest outhouses. The area of Bay of Islands is breathtaking.

Beautiful view of the sea.

The ground is Rocky and isn't the best for tenting, but it's a quiet and relaxing place with a fantastic walkway to the top of a nearby hill.

Robert White

Great place for overnight camping or if you just want to spend the day with the family for a BBQ. Check out the Governor's Staircase if you're in the area, it offers a gorgeous view of the surroundings.

Jennifer Holmes

Rocky beach with a trail and well kept sites.

Michael Taylor

Stunning, quiet and secluded. My new favorite spot. Perfect for campers looking for the natural experience who are using tents and small trailers.

Robyn Latta

We arrive pretty late to the campsite but the manager had said since we're already paid up that we could jsut right to the site and no worry about a thing. Pretty great site (#10), no neighbors right on top of us and close to an outhouse. There are real bathrooms with showers a bit down the trail/road from that site that we found the next day. Once we had packed up in the morning we went to explore the park since we heard it described as "mystical". I wish we had more time to really check it out but the trail we took from the beach was spectacular. The beginning is a stairway for about 1km that's super cool, then there's a trail through the woods on the mountain that I can easily see as being mystical. I felt like I was in a storybook.

The park is nice overall. The hiking trail and hills have great views. The beach is a great place to visit and swim. The camp sites are ok. Where the trees and shrubs are lacking in between sites so privacy could be better. The comfort station is the biggest disappointment and needs to be renovated. There was no hot water and pressure was lacking in the showers.

Camp sites were surrounded with lots of trees for privacy. Comfort station was clean and showers had plenty of hot water. Outhouses were also clean. The surrounding area (Lark Harbour) is absolutely stunning. Highly recommend doing the Bottle Cove, Cedar Cove and Copper Mine Falls trails/hikes.
