Bannerman Park, recently updated, has something for everyone. It is a jewel in the midst of the city, with pleasant walking areas, a memory garden for quiet contemplation, a play area with summer splash pad for kids, a pool and newly refurbished facilities, a baseball diamond, and an incredible skating loop for winter activities, among other features. Throw a frisbee, relax in the sun, check out the gardens, or head to the nearby Hungry Heart Cafe at Rawlins Cross and pick up a take-away "Loop Bag" picnic lunch, and enjoy a stroll and a delicious meal.

Beautifully kept and well manicured park, the design is non linear, with smoothly curved pathways that invite for a stroll and conversation. The playground area is covered on brilliantly colored rubberised tarmac to prevent injuries on young children and keep the magic going while playing,a touch that I found particularly thoughtful. The kiosk with sanitary services and food dispatch is conveniently placed near the parking lot and playground, doggies are allowed but are expected to be keep on leash at all times and that the owners are attentive when the doggo reliefs itself, just common courtesy ????. It was drizzly when we visited but it was rather pleasant, we'll be looking forward to strolling around when the weather improves a bit.

A beautiful park full of amenities for all! A pool and splashpad, the loop (which is great for kid's scooters and rollerblading in the summer), a baseball diamond, the bandstand and beautifully upkept grasses and gardens throughout the park make Bannerman a special place in the heart of the city.

Great municipal park close to downtown area. Over the last 5 yrs or so major work has been done to upgrade the park which includes a Playground, Splash pad, Softball Pitch, outdoor swimming pool, Bandstand and an amazing outdoor skating loop. The park is well lit and we'll maintained and includes a number of sculptures and memorials both old and new. The park first opened in 1891 so as you can imagine it has lots of large mature trees. The park is located adjacent to the newly restored "Colonial Building" which was the site of the Newfoundland Parliament before Confederation and the original house of Assembly after confederation. Across the street is the location of Government House the home of the Lt Governor and it is a very short walk to St. Thomas Anglican Church an amazing old wooden church that predates the St. John's great fire that destroyed most of the downtown. On a person note as a young boy who attended Bishop Field Boys school on Bond St which is close by I spent considerable time in the park during school lunch break... playing tag on the monkey bars, collecting chestnuts from the parts trees and playing touch football. Bannerman Park is worth the trip so check it out.

This park has had quite the new upgrades over the years. There is a splash pad that runs after Canada day until just before labour day wknd along with a free-of-charge swimming pool with change rooms; a fully accessible playground; a figure-eight ice rink that is lit up and has radio music playing that is maintained during the winter months, and becomes a great spot for scooters and bikes when there is no ice; Beavertails is on site; and there are extensive grounds for lounging, and tossing a frisbee/etc. --mature trees, flower gardens, green grass, absolutely beautiful. Great spot during any season, for any age!

A nice place to go in the summer if you don't mind hammocks and the smell of weed. Also quite nice in the winter. Pack a pair of skates and head down to the loop for some casual skating. Though the trails can get icy as well, so mind your step on the way in.

Visitors should be careful in buying drinks and food as I had a bad experince with an expired orange juice bottle. We were lucky enough to check the (five months after expiary) bottle before giving to my kid. Check the expiarydates before giving to your kids! This Applies for everywhere! :)

This park is excellent for picnics as well, with plenty of areas to set up a picnic blanket and soak up some sun. Bannerman park is a great place to visit in any season. There are quiet spots, but the focus is on the busy centre. In winter, there is an outdoor skating loop available, in the summer, visitors can use the splash pad and pool. Families can use the newly installed playground all year round. There are spaces for hanging out, playing frisbee or sunbathing. In the 1st weekend of August, a 3 day folk festival takes over. Always worth a visit, the park is a gem in the heart of old St. John's.

It's a beautiful park that is mostly gated in. It has a pool, splash pad, playground with slides and swings, washrooms and even a snack bar to buy food. The park is quite big and enjoyable to walk around.

The Bannerman Park is a very well organised and beautifully green oasis mid in town. Full of history, the first crossing the Atlantic with an ordinary hot air balloon was attempted from this green spot on earth (sadly, it came to nought just a few seamiles ashort off the French coast). Starting from the park, one has plenty of possibilities to start breathtaking hiking routes (to Signal Hill or the Pippy Park).

This is a great park that I go to with my brother all the time. I rated it 3 stars because the pool smells really bad and sometimes had hair and other things in it. You also have to go 3 hours in advance to claim a spot. If you go to the splash pad, bring sandles because the floor of the splash pad is not clean

The changes to this park in the last several years has been amazing and a wonderful place both summer and winter. The Loop is one place that my family spends a lot of time having fun. The playground is always somewhere that my children like to play. But it is the Rotary splash pad that has really been used a lot.

Large, spacious park and open (no roof, or canopy apart from shade provided by the trees). Good for relaxing and having fun. Very busy when there are funfair events taking place. The grass and trees are very nice. The trees provide good shade from the summer sun. Good for family outing. Very friendly for little children. Children can ride on bikes and just have fun. Live music are available on funfair days. A little restaurant and fast food center for buying snacks, sweets ice-cream and drinks is available. Pets are allowed here. And the pets truly have fun too. When there are no funfair or events, it is really a serene and quite place for relaxing and calming the mind to think. The picture I have here shows the park but doesn't really capture the large space or true beauty, it's a lot beautiful than tge picture I have.

One of the nicest parks in St. John's. During the summer, it's the home of the folk festival, which brings together some great talent. In the winter, there's a skating rink that is very popular. There's also an outdoor swimming pool here too.

Awesome park year round. Lots of grassy space to hang out, throw a frisbee around, or have a small game with friends. Lots of trees on the East end and more open space in the West end, and climbers for kids in the centre. In the winter, the walking paths in the centre are frozen into a figure 8 skating rink, with a BeaverTail kiosk and benches for taking skates on and off. As of 2019 there was nowhere to rent skates in the area, so make sure to bring your own. In the summer, there's also a great gelato shop across the street.

This park is absolutely beautiful! It is hard to believe we are in the centre or the city... surrounded by trees and flowers. Amazing art, structures, a swimming pool, a softball field, playground for children, a skating loop and beavertails for poutine and treats!! My favorite piece is the bannerman clock that was donated in memory of a loved one I believe by the Reardon family. Terrific spot for pictures as well!

Take a stroll through the parks trails and discover memories placed on the bricks which has been placed on the ground as you stroll around the water fountain and some history reguarding the park and who left a little something to add for future generations and visitors from everywhere In the winter time the park is turned into a beautiful outdoor skating loop for the public to use free of charge and is also well lite . it's a great place for a romantic skate date under the stars which is well lite up. Great fun and exercise for all ages. This is a great place that is a must visit place..for all tourists alike!!!!

It is by far the cutest part in all of Saint John's that you can go to. It's not as big as Bow ring Park but it feels like it has so much more going on inside of it, with all of this little detail and monuments all over the park. It's just so beautiful and fun and you'll see a lot of families having a great time there!

Absolutely disgusted in the system they have in place - for skating at the loop. Was stood in line with my daughter for 1.5 hours and still wasn't allowed it because they were at their 40 mark. I counted the line a 640 pm and we were 28th and then at 650pm we were almost 60th. People saving spots for other people or people skipping the line. Should be a better system in place.

Bannerpark is great. It a beautiful, smaller park with a free skating loop (in the winter), a community pool (in the summer) and a place to grab food (Beaver Tails). It is full of mature trees and just a all around lovely place to go for a walk.

Beautiful place for family to go hang out for the day. You have waterpark fun, regular playground fun with soft ground everywhere. State of the art place for kids to play. Busy place. There are areas to find a grassy area and chill away from the crowds. Also beavertails is here!!! Need I say more!

A beautiful park to relax in after a long day if work. I went here to eat my supper. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, most of the time you can hear the music of children playing and all the excitement in the air. I arrived just after a big rainfall, and I was surprised to see most of the special turf near the canteen was already dry. There was a lot of foot traffic even though it had just been raining. People seem to love this place for it's beauty, the good amount of attractions for kids, places to sit with family and enjoy a park picnic or just simply spending time with friends.

It's a great place to go swimming !! You can take the kids to enjoy the splash pad on a hot summer day. The scenery is beautiful and relaxing!! Take a stroll through the parks trails and discover memories placed on the bricks which has been placed on the ground as you stroll around the water fountain and some history reguarding the park and who left a little something to add for future generations and visitors from everywhere In the winter time the park is turned into a beautiful outdoor skating loop for the public to use free of charge and is also well lite . it's a great place for a romantic skate date under the stars which is well lite up. Great fun and exercise for all ages. This is a great place that is a must visit place..for all tourists alike!!!!
