Beautiful place, full of life and comfortable walk. Small cafe with only outdoor seating under a shade that offers quite a few options of snacks and food like sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips and icecream.
There are comfortable benches which give a nice view of the river and one can observe the usual activity of tugs and/or boats.
There is a fixed-rotateable telescope to see distant areas too.
On one side of the park there are two hammocks in place next to open, non-grassed play area and on the other side, there is only on small swing for children and may be one hop on exploring kind of slide.
It is a nice place and I often go there on a daily basis, but, sometimes, other people smoking weed and marijuana is what bothers me too much and spoils the entire feeling of freshness that a nice evening brings with it.
Teens play basketball in a small court. There is a lift that takes you down to the park from the parking lot above on Columbia Street. The stairs go alongside the lift too. But no access from up there for strollers or wheelchairs, so when the lift is not working, you will either have to walk all the way down on Columbia street or simply stay there for a few minutes and then walk back home. When the lift wasn't working; I stood up there (see picture), enjoyed the basketball game the teens were playing downstairs and focused on how long people have to wait on a railway signal- as a railtrack is right beneath. :)
