The Irving Nature Park is a beautiful location! It has great places to walk and explore. The trails are very clear and clean. Many of the trails are great for jogging and if you just wish to enjoy the views by car, during the summer you can do that as well. There are also some beautiful beaches which showcase the powerful Fundy tide. I highly recommend this exceptional location though I do need to advise anyone that the road can be in rough condition depending on the time of year.

The park is quite beautiful in the summer and still very enjoyable and peaceful in the winter ! The only thing I would change is pave the road that people drive in on and park their cars, then they wouldn't have to constantly resurface it and it wouldn't be so harsh on suspension at the times they haven't gotten to it . Great place to come have a family bbq or any type of celebration really. Plenty of wonderful trails to hike , and many animals to spot

You could spend a day at the Beautifully preserved Irving Nature Park. Go for a nice relaxing walk on the groomed walking trails, Go off trails to the foot paths to the most beautiful scenic areas of the Park. Take a picnic, pack a lunch, go site seeing and exploring. I found that the best time to see porpoise out in the bay was when the park first opens. I will make many more trips back to this beautiful Park.

Haven't been to the park in a few years since we moved away from Saint John and forgot what a treasure it is. Walked the complete perimeter trail and enjoyed every minute of of it. The trail continues to be impeccably maintained complete with the barbecue area on the north side of the penisula.

The Irving nature park is a beautiful spot for picnics, walking the trails or enjoying the beaches. You will often spot wildlife like chipmunks, deer, porcupines, cranes, seals and foxes. Just a short drive from city centre and just off the highway; this is a cherished spot by locals and tourists alike. If walking the main road around the park, expect it to take about an hour and twenty minutes (with no stops) but you could easily enjoy the entire day here if you wanted to enjoy the trails, beaches and more.

This is truly a treasure in New Brunswick. Great beaches, on a hot day Cool Breeze off the Bay of Funday. Easy Drive through wooded section with some nice scenic stop and view. If you haven't been there take the opportunity to pack a lunch and go enjoy some of New Brunswick wonderful nature.

Saint John's hidden gem!! One of the highlights of our annual trip out East every year. Scenery is stunning and it never feels over crowded and is the very opposite of pretentious. Our kids love walking the beaches, picking up shells/rocks and just sitting on a beach blanket. Highly, highly recommended destination for anyone visiting the area.

I LOVE going walking/hiking through the trails! It's a good long walk, and if you get bored easily then you can walk in the woods on the little foot paths they have set up. The foot paths are awesome! They have wood paths (little bridges) where its wet and swampy so you dont get in the water, and they have lots of wildlife to keep you entertained! Always a beautiful place ! Even in the rain/fog!

First time hiking at this nature park. We did the Seal trail, connecting to Heron trail, then looped back through Deer trail and back down Seal. With 2 boys aged 6 & 8, we did this in 2 hours. It was truly breathtaking! Seal trail leads you around the marshy areas of the park, then as you continue on to Heron, you get to see craggy sea coves with will, rocky beaches. We felt like we were on Vancouver Island! At the southernmost point, we sat on the rocks looking out at the expanse of Fundy, with tanker ships off in the distance. As we would back, we enjoyed seeing the different beaches, sea birds and kept an eye out for seal and dolphin, which we were told sometimes make an appearance during low tide (we didn't see any that day) We were surprised that such spectacular views and oceanside hiking was within St. John, and free, too. We will definitely be back to hike the other trails!

While passing through the area, our innkeeper at Fundy Heights B&B strongly encouraged us to visit here while. So glad we did. We went there after dinner and were lucky enough to enjoy the sunset. The views and photographic opportunities were fabulous. Watching the sunset while hearing the steady surf on the rocks behind us was memorable. Definitely worth making the time to visit.

This place is a gem! The children's forest features two living Cedar hedge mazes as well as a playground. The playground has an age-segregated portion dedicated to the smaller children. No one is overrun. Of course, the walking trails are excellent and offer views of the diverse environs. From marshlands, to woods, to dramatic coastal vistas, it's all there. A must-visit.

Well marked and skillfully made walking trails make this a great place to walk in all weather. We got caught in a little rain but there are several nice structures for shelter in this is generously designed and maintained place. Don't miss the luxuriously wide Boardwalk out over the marsh which is made to accommodate wheelchairs. This is the only Boardwalk I have ever encountered which does, and offers accessibility to the fascinating world out in the marsh.

The Saint John Astronomy Club set up amazing telescopes there, and as a stargazer, it was a privilege to see Jupiter and some of the dozens of it's moons, the Sun(using a special lens/filter, Saturn and it's rings and moons, Nebulae, and other Galaxies including Andromeda.

Information for out of towners: It's roughly a 6 km or 45 min - hourish walk around on the inner road and roughly 7.5 km on the inside trails. Dress for the weather, mosquitos and bring water because there's no facilities outside of portable washrooms on site.

This park/trail is a must for trail runners. Low to med skill levels. You go through so many different types of environments, beaches, woods, rocks, swamps, small bridges it's so amazing. Great for walking to. 7km-9km loop if you do both seal loop and Herron loop.

Beautiful place. I went there for a group tour with 25 children. They did an amazing activity with the children. I would highly recommend Irving nature park. It's just a beautiful park.the guides were very informative. They fed the birds and were able to hold crabs and touch baby fish. The guides too them to a marsh land area for the activity. This is my number 1 place for going for walks or jogs outdoors. The gravel roadway is fine for biking or walking on for a total of around 6.5kms. There are also several dirt/mulch paths weaving through and beside the roadway if you want to mix it up from time to time. The roadway is usually closed to cars on weekend mornings until noon to give joggers and bikers a chance to use it without having to worry about cars being in the way. There are also a couple beaches you can bring your dogs to (or swim in I suppose if you brave the freezing waters), different lookout points with binoculars, and a few shelters with picnic tables and barbecues you can have gatherings at.

A really nice park! The path system is quite extensive, and skirts the edge of the peninsula, giving some great views. The trails are not especially difficult, but some people might have difficulty as there is rocky terrain and some elevation changes involved. That being said, there is also a road system that runs near the trail, which could be walked on instead. We took our dog and saw several other people with dogs as well... there are garbage cans and bag dispensers in several locations throughout the park.

A Bay of Fundy nature park island connected by a beach road to West Saint John New Brunswick. It has good parking at the entrance at ocean vantage points and at an interpretation center in the center neàr the lookout tower. You can drive or walk around the circle road if about 8 km length or take the trail sections that circle the edge if the island or go out on a boardwalk inti the tidal mudflats. Expect to see sea birds seals and more nature. In season there are also nature and geology tours available.

Closed for the winter. Entrance was iced over so walking in isn't very safe. I tried but didn't get far as the trails were iced over too for as far as I could see. There were a few cars parked so maybe there was another way in

Beautiful natural park land. We explored the children's forest and the maze which is a great feature. The playground also has a zipline which the kids enjoyed.

The trails winding in and around the trees on the shoreline side are a great place to unwind and relax. Beautiful scenery along the coastline. You can take your time and explore along the way. Do take care we did spot what we think was poison ivy along the edge of the roadway.

This is a beautiful park with a nice driving loop and a great series of walking trails. There are usually seals in the surf around seal rock, just watch for a bit and you will see their heads popping up out of the water. We always stop when we are passing through St John. For some reason, people seem to walk on the road, not on the trails, so be careful when you are driving.

Check out ALL of the trails! Spend an entire day there with your family and friends. There is so much beauty to see at the nature park -including wildlife so tame I had a squirrel climb on my shoulder while eating a sandwich on the beach. You will fall in love with this place.

This is a beautiful place. There are lots of walking and hiking trails that lead you through woods and marshes. Nice wooden planking takes you over the wetter parts. The beach is completely gorgeous. There is also a new kids area. Lots of free parking. Great for dog walks too. Highly recommend!

Love this Park. The beach is beautiful. The walkway out to the marsh is magical. There are bbq areas for families. Lookout points on the trails. If you are in SJ and want to go on a walk or adventure with your family head here.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place to clear your mind! So many beautiful, well groomed walking and biking trails. It’s also handicap friendly, you don’t have to just walk or bike to be able to see the views, you can just drive around the park if you prefer! So many beautiful picnic spots with barbeques you can use for free!
