One of the best beaches in the area, (That I would disclose to the world on Google anyway) definitely one of our favorites, just a short drive from Nelson. Sandy with plenty of shaded areas, limited parking.

Clean beach. Soft sand. Fantastic, fun drive from the city of Nelson using granite road.

Possibly the best beach around Nelson...DON'T go to Lakeside! Just make the drive, it's worth it.

This is a great beach if you prefer less crowd. The beach is very private and surrounded by trees. The sand is very fine compared to other nearby beaches. This beach is good for adults and children alike.

Beautiful sandy beach and forested park that gets the evening sun. The regional park has basic facilities, outhouses, BBQ's, fire pits. It can be busy on sunny days between June and September but quiet the rest of the year. Dog friendly (on a leash). Water quality is monitored and can be a concern as it is downstream from Nelson's sewage treatment. If there are problems it is publicly posted in the parking lot.

Sierra Rose

Not very many shaded spots, but otherwise it’s a very nice beach!!

This is by far my most favourite spot to just stop and capture the beautiful beachfront. This spot has done good for me and my daughter. There is an change room / bathroom that locks. And BBQs to use with picnic tables right beside.. and also a valley ball net.

Beautiful sandy beach, warm water.

I'll begin by boasting, it's basically the best barefoot beach around. Bring your brats or your barking buds! Barbecues, benches and bathrooms are provided. Nice fine sand, dog friendly as long as they're leashed and under control. Relatively calm waters. Friends Family Kids and Furballs Taghum all along.

A great beach though in recent years has gotten very very popular so usually very busy parking is brutal at times and congested it can be closed at times depending on algae blooms, its located down river from the sewage treatment plant for Nelson which can be disconcerting for some folks. The current moves very fast the further away from shore you get so be aware of that and stay in the designated area especially if you're new to the area and unfamiliar with the kootenay lake.

We luckes out and got there when it was quiet, filled up pretty quick. Great sand, cool water, gets deep pretty quickly.

Roz Toft

Absolutely gorgeous! Recommend to anyone who likes water sport, swimming to just lazying on the beach catching some rays.

A small local friendly beach with amenities such as pit toilets, garbage cans and a fire pit. No potable water. The beach is soft sand and kid friendly. It's in a little bay just off the main current so as always, be mindful.

Amazing beaches, one of the best around. Has outdoor grills should you wish to make food. Has a volleyball net as well. Great for family/friend get togethers. This beach is down from the sewer treatment center so care for health risk warnings of swimming in the water.

Lovely beach, OK parking, can be crowded.

This is a great beach if you want to be a little bit social. The way it's situated means it gets sun later than any beach in the area so if you want to maximize your skin cancer potential then this is the place for you. Epic beach volleyball games go down here and there are good washrooms, picnic tables and bbq areas. Super good for the kids. Dogs are not as welcome as they used to be. Card on the table time - it is downstream from Nelson's waste treatment plant so you need to make your peace with that. Sometimes the beach is closed due to high fecal coliform counts which raises a difficult question - how long does it take for them to do the test, process the results and then close the beach? I say coliforms be damned!
