This Park belongs to the category of Park.
A Japanese garden located just south of Square One, named after Mississauga's sister city, Kariya, Japan since 1981. It has a lot of Japanese-style gardens, pavilion, cherry trees, rhododendrons and several sculptures gifted by Kariya City. It's like you've gone back to Japan for this brief moment. The park is really cute, lots of nice scenery and has a sitting place as well. Great to take kids to and walk around. Great place to stroll through the history of the partnership as well. There's also the mosaic given to Mississauga in 2011 which has 6,750 photos from past delegations and twinning events. Also to see is The Friendship Bell that was a gift to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the sister city partnership and the new millennium.
Too many ppl littering and feeding ducks when signs clearly say "do not feed ducks". But it is a nice little park in the city.
A beautiful Japanese inspired escape in the urban centre of Mississauga. A very popular park, not too far from Square one and perfect for walks and picnics.
This place is just gorgeous. I love everything about it. If you are a photographer or a videographer and have wedding clients or grad clients this is the place to go. Make sure you get permits online just to make sure you stay on the safe side of things, but other than that enjoy the beautiful views and live the the time of your life. There is a lot of greenery and very beautiful textures that make it very versatile and different and allows for different pictures and shot ideas. 10/10 would definitely recommend checking it out and spending some time here.
It's a cute modest little park. Supposedly known for its cherry blossoms during this season but unfortunately they are very late bloomers. Located in downtown Mississauga, it could get quite crowded and annoying since the park is quite small. So if you plan to visit, go during a weekday morning to get your visits worth. You have to pay for parking on the street too so keep that in mind if you plan to go. You could also park at square one and walk over but its inconvenient.
Favorite place but so crowded
Fun relaxing park this time of the year. Mother's day well spent. The park is not too big, good for a nice stroll. Next to square one mall.
Going to Kariya Park is like steping into a beautiful price of Japan. The flowers, the pond, the structures and layout take you to that part of the world without ever leaving your city. I lived in the area for a few years and always enjoyed going there for some peace and quiet.
Really quite and lovely park with a small lake and beautiful bridge. Great place for photo shoots. Heads up: It gets crazy during cheer blossoms bloom season!
Beautiful relaxing Japanese inspired park with a small pond full of mallard ducks.
Beautiful small park in near square one. Lot of peace inside the park. Many birds welcome you. Nice spot for a theme photo shoots and also to spend time with your loved ones. 1 of the must visits as per canada tourisms also in fall season. Nice Japanese theme park and a good trials to walk on. A very tiny one compared to the number of other parks of Canada but in square one a beautiful place to sit and hang out if you are not a fan of spending your day in the crowded mall. A perfect picture capturing place in heart of Mississauga one should not miss a visit to. But it's a small one just remember that...
It is a small park with distinct carecter of Japanese style of garden. Definitely a place for taking pictures.
A great small park for a stroll or to take pictures. A great spot for portrait photography
I love this park. Cute place for a picnic. The Japanese feel adds to the air. Its a serene and scenic place in the centre of the city I will recommend. You come shopping at square one and you are tired, pop in here and rest those tired legs. You want to have a romantic date with your SO, this grounds presents a beautiful location to show love. If you want to have an engagement shoot as well, this is one great location for the discerning photographer.
Probably one of the most beautiful and serene parks you'll visit in Mississauga. It's such a nice little piece of heaven. There was a large population of ducks in this park and its so nice how they're not afraid to greet you when you arrive. Also, it helps that visitors respect the wildlife and try not to disturb them and let them be. Would be a great spot for a wedding shoot for sure!
Kariya park is really the best urban oasis. This place has that heavenly presence in fall and is a great tribute to the Japanese Architecture ????????????
This place if beautiful all year-round. I often come to just enjoy the weather or to do some en plein air painting. There is an assortment of different plants and animals to see and also some beautiful statues and architecture.
Quiet , serene place so much like a little forest in between buildings.
Amazing construction and scenery The park is a quick and small experience so it’s recommended you visit if you already happen to be in the area.
A small park in a bustling downtown Mississauga perfect for a quiet Sunday walk. A great ambience away from the busy city life. Beautiful pond with Japanese-influenced architecture. Great dating spot for young couples, instagram bloggers alike. Parking may be difficult as only street parking is available. However, the park is within a 5 min walk from Square One. Alas, I wish there were more cherry blossoms to make this park complete.
Great park, great for photoshoot sessions, and meditation.
Had a great time.. A beautiful place indeed
Its a really nice park quiet. It's really small. Was expecting a bigger park. But ther eare places to sit if you didn't carry a blanket to sit.. 4 stars
Quite nice place spend the evenings with family
A beautiful serene park, great to go with kids and alone
Little park, but well maintained. Have pond, ducks and lot of trees. Have a little bridge. If you want to change your mood, please come here. This little park always makes me feel relaxed and energized.
Park is awesome but one suggestion there is no garbage bins so I can seen many plastic bottles on the ground.
Small clean cozy park. The cherry blossoms are beautiful..little pond with ducks. The friendship bell. Its a must visit.
This park is perfect for a walk and relax. It's kind of small but the view is amazing. The park is located in the middle of Mississauga downtown which makes the atmosphere very special. There is birds, fishes and ducks surrounding the park giving the sensation of their normal habitat. Lot of green vegetation, flowers and plants creating a Zen ambiance and refreshing air!Truly recommend it.
Beautiful small garden. Sometimes its over crowded because of the small space. However it is a nice place.
Beautiful Japanese park.
Small park with well designed layout and good Japanese feel. Great place for a quick meet up with friends with coffee.
Beautiful picturesque park walking distance from Square One Mall. So calming to walk around and enjoy scenery. Great for taking pictures. Pond has fish, turtles and ducks, it’s so nice to enjoy quiet time there. Lots of Japanese inspired sculptures since park is named after Kariya city in Japan. Park was built in 1996 to commemorate 15 anniversary of twinning between Kariya city and city of Mississauga. Wondering around beautiful greenery and flowers is so serene and relaxing soaking spirit from the nature.
The nice cute little park and peaceful environment!
Very beautiful. Great for pictures!
Beautiful little park with cherry trees. Many people come here to take wedding photos.
A great place for video/photoshoots. It’s about a 15 min drive within the Toronto area. Parking is free when you park nearby the residential.
Close to home. Enjoy the ducks, fishes and turtles in the pond. Best time is during Cherry Blossom season in end of April to May. Paid parking. Walking distance from Square One. Japanese Garden. Zen like!
Good, small park. A few cherry trees fully blossed on April 23, some just starting. Very crowded with wedding photoshoot or other people with cameras. A few ducks and geese. On a sunny day u may find turtles as well
This space is beautiful, clean and aesthetically pleasing. Wonderful way to spend your evening. You'll appreciate the Japanese design and aesthetics of this petite park.
Kariya Park is absolutely beautiful. It made me feel like I was in a Japanese garden.
Good place. Small park. Since, it is in heart of Mississauga, it is always busy. But good for a small walk or hangout.
Good Park with historical significance in the heart of Mississauga!!!
The park is tiny, had yellow caution lines everywhere around the trees and there were way too many wedding photoshoots going on, crowding the space. It's probably a nice place when it's not that crowded and when the cherry blossom trees are flourishing.
Its a stunning little park in the heart of Mississauga just steps from Square One. There is very limited paid parking. It has beautiful scenery and a very natural rustic feel. I thoroughly enjoy taking a stroll in this park as it's very peaceful. There are ducks and other wild life that one can also see at times which adds to the experience as a whole.
I am glad we came for a second visit because, this time, pink cherry blossoms have started to bloom, outside and inside Kariya Park, and what a pretty sight. For now, I will have to be content with pre-peak bloom as I doubt we could come back in a few days.
This is park is very beautiful and well maintained. However its a very small park, you can complete a round of the park walking in 2 mins. People mostly spend time watching the fowl and just relaxing on their mats and talking with friends. One can click good pictures here. Not really meant for jogging. Very green park.
If you love Japan, here is a tiny little park which will bring you to Japan. Great for taking pictures ☺️
Amazing place for families!
This place is awesome.. EVERYONE PLS KEEP THE PLACE CLEAN.. THE PLACE PROVIDED GARABAGE BIN.. unfortunately we have to pay for parking but its ok $1.00 per hour only...
Kariya Park is small but beautiful. There is a big bell ????. There is flowers. And also place to sit and watch the ducks.
To sum up my experience there, its boring. There's not much other than some ducks in a pond and a statue here and there. Most people that go there are for photoshoots, and the trees only turn that nice color in the spring time. Overall not worth it to drive far for. If you live near here or work near here, then it's not that bad. But overall dont go to this area just for this park.
A beautiful park paying homage to Japan in the heart of downtown Mississauga. Ducks and turtles can be found swimming in the ponds. The Japanese Cherry Blossoms are visible in the spring time which is when the park is at it's most beautiful.
Honestly so relaxing, definitely a little hidden gem oasis amidst the bustling city!
Small Park good to spend some time.
Small but a nice pond with turtles, ducks, and yellow/black fish. Probably better in spring with cherry blossoms but must be crowded too. More flower gardens would be an improvement.
Nice little japanese park in Mississauga which has its connections to sister city Kariya. gifts from the sister city can be found here. Very relaxing and reminded me of Japan. Fun fact: Kariya has a mississauga park complete with a mini city hall gazebo!
Named after it's sister town in Japan, this park definitely has numerous Japanese influences, from the bamboo fence to the sculptures and subtle engravings, it really feels like you walked into a tiny part of Japan. Of course there are cherry blossoms as well when they are in season! As well as a pond that is normally filled with ducks. My favorite park in Mississauga, it is quite small but I absolutely love the vibe and aesthetic.
Good place to chill, enjoy and have a nice picnic. Cherry blossom are great when in bloom.
I enjoyed a very comfortable walk this afternoon to view beautiful Sakura Japanese cherry blossoms. I parked on the side road across the park for C$3 per hour. The park was built in 1996 to commemorate the fifteen anniversary of the twinning between Kariya City, Japan and the City of Mississauga. The park carries elegant Japanese flavour by combining water features with stones and weeping flowering trees, and statues and a big bell. It is important to slow down your tempo, calm your mood, and avoid using electronic devices when you walk in the park. Reading a physical book will be a good way to reduce your life pressure. Hope you enjoy a quality life there!! Overall rating: 4.8 of 5.0.
Beautifully landscaped. Always lovely to visit.
Small but worth visiting for some yoga
Park is clean. Not too crowded in the day. Love the ponds. Such a nice place in the heart of Mississauga.
Tips: 1. Watch out when you park by the street. There is a lot of cars parking in front of the park but that is not for parking. I saw the policeman was issuing tickets when I get there. There is a street parking near by with 4 minutes to walk. Parking rate is $1 per hour. 2. Be aware of covid 19. Many visitors there. 3. Dress nice to take some beautiful photos with flowers.
The park is beautiful and the cherry blossoms are perfect for photos! I was expecting the park to be larger than it was, but that’s okay. Also, it was super packed with people.
If your looking for a quick stroll, I'll recommend this park. Parking is not free though it's a dollar for an hour.
Had a great photoshoot done with my model Cheryl, glad we both got in early before more people came in. All photos is on my website Reymando.com
☀️Beautiful. Amazing place to take pictures in the spring. Very busy in the evenings but just perfect in the morning.
Beautiful and peaceful park!!
Beautiful park near to squar one
Always liked this little park. Finally got to see it with some of the cherry blossoms. Usually quite peaceful though today there seemed to be two weddings going on at the very least. It's a small, walled park so it should be easy to keep track of the kids if you bring them. Though being in the "centre" of the city, if you want to visit it at its most peaceful, you'll have to aim for the off season.
I love this little park. It feels so tranquil and esthetically pleasing. It holds a special place in my heart.
This place is lovely!! I went there for the first time this weekend and was amazed how serene and peaceful it is!!
They need to rake the Zen garden. But this is a gorgeous park in all 4 seasons. Very authentic. Sometimes serene, sometimes noisy.
Beautiful park, Good view, good relaxing spot
A small quiet park in middle of Mississauga city centre. A wonderful place to meditate or read or just chill for an hour or so. It has pond with small turtles too , and many places to sit and relax. Wonderful flora too( in summers). Parking is on the street, is paid and many times not available. But a clean place makes you forget you are in a busy city.
It was nice. But kinda small. And lots of people. During covid time, I don't recommend it. People are there mostly for photoshoot.
Semi-hidden jewel of a park tucked away just a block from Square One. Built in honour of Mississauga's sister city Kariya, Japan, this park is mostly known for its few cherry blossom trees in the late spring, but it's still a very gorgeous and peaceful little park even in the winter. The ducks love the tiny ponds as you can see from my photos, and it won't take more than 10 minutes to walk around and check out the entire park itself.
Very Beautiful, relaxing park, with different nature sights : trees , birds , ponds , .....
Great little park just a stones throw from square one. It is beautiful in April when the cherry blossom trees bloom.
Nice little Japanese style park in Mississauga. Good for Cherry blossom viewing if you can't go to High Park.
Went on a Sunday morning with my wife. We walked from our home and then around the area. The park is small but quite pleasant and calming. Lots of trees and flowers. You can see ducks and even turtles getting a sun bath on the rocks. Please keep in mind any professional photos require a permit and dogs are not allowed in the park.
This is a beautiful spot very close to square one. The trees are very pretty and a nice place to take a stroll. There is small pond , small bridge. However with social distancing this seems to be crowded. It's pretty but small and hence going at peak hours specially in the evening may not be the best time. Parking is can be a problem. Mostly residents from the neighborhood come over. So you can park at square one and walk to the park.
Very beautiful and relaxing but bit small and need some fix and maintenance
The park itself is quite beautiful, and is worth checking out if you live in Mississauga. It's not entirely reflective of a Japanese garden as the upkeep is something to be desired, and flora is seemingly un-manicured. Despite it's flaws, this park is still very popular and a haven for wedding photography within this suburban city. Something more reflective of a San Franciscan replica garden, than a 1-to-1 with a Japanese temple garden.
I couldn't go inside because of lot people. Seems beautiful from outside.
Really nice very quiet and private. It celebrates the twinning of Mississauga and Kariya, Japan. Has a few ponds with ducks. Has a large ceremonial bell.
Excellent ambience and touch of Japanese culture in every part of the park. A must visit place in Mississiauga. Ideal for family with kids.
This park is very beautiful. We went for the cherry blossoms and it was a great park to take a walk in. It's located near square one so you can grab something to eat there, and head over to the park after. It looks well maintained, as it's very clean. There are benches and rocks you can sit on across the park. In the bigger pond they had some fish in the water. They have alot of duck and geese so it's great to go and sit down and watch the animals. We seen one person bring bread to feed them. We did notice some kids going around and messing with the animals which was horrible to see. They need someone to periodically check the park to make sure these kids are messing with the animals.
Beautiful park. Not to big but it's too beautiful to ignore.
Beautiful place to relax. Nice Japanese style park
Amazing Garden!!! This is one the most beautiful gardens in the heart of Mississauga. The one place where one could find heritage, culture, garden, water bodies, water animals and lots n lots of ways to have fun! The park is based on Japanese culture and heritage. As you can see lots of texts and sculptures in the park related to Japanese art. Moreover, the park also boasts ducks and turtles. The ducks are all around in the park which adds on to the natural beauty. There is a bridge in the middle of the garden over the water body which looks very beautiful. There is no playground in the park so no swings or slides. But the Kidz enjoy even more here with the nature, ducks and the turtles. The parents can enjoy the Japanese culture and heritage while the children run around after ducks or say their hellos to turtles. All in all a beautiful and well maintained park to enjoy sunny day or evenings with family.
Nice place to visit. Hard to find parking spot but there is public place available where you can just pay for 5 dollar and can walk to the park. We went during blossom season and the park looks amazing. It have small pond and one bridge. Perfect place to click some beautiful pictures. It's in middle of the downtown Mississauga so you can see buildings from the park. Must visit place if you like to see blossom season.
Beautiful space, "hidden" from the hustle and bustle of the area.
Great place to take professional portraits or scenery photos
So Kariya Park is a lot smaller than what I imagined! It’s a neighborhood park hidden within the condos, close enough of a walk to Hudson’s Bay of Square one. It’s Japanese inspired and consists of a walkway, pond and a bridge or two. There’s some nice spots to take photos and tends to be pretty busy! Since it’s pretty small, it wasn’t big enough to get a feel for an exercise but nice enough for some photos, if you’re in the area.
Superb place..so peaceful..
Nice park for a short walk or to sit and enjoy your time.
Kariya Park is such a peaceful place to go to with the family and to get in touch with the beauty of nature. There are ducks, turtles, and beautiful fish in the pond. You just might find a few lovely artists painting the landscapes and trees. A pleasant experience. ❤
Wonderful place to spend the afternoon even in chilly weather. Very peaceful, picturesque little gem in a busy area. There is a pond with Dickson and koi fish as well. Great place for a photo op.
Beautiful and peaceful oasis in the city. Japanese style park with water and ducks as well as interesting sculptures and features
It's a smaller park than I expected/hoped but it's still nice. You actually feel like you're walking through a little piece of Japan, a country with a lot of culture and beauty in it. Just be warned, there will pretty much always be a crowd there especially around the cherry blossom trees so if you're going there to do a photoshoot or just some snapshots and selfies don't expect to take any without any people in the background. But that's not the park's fault and the park itself is beautiful and well kept so do check it out if you're interested.
Beautiful park, love spending time here in summer.
Kariya Park is a family favourite, peaceful, tranquil and walking distance from work. Tend to go their on our lunch for a stroll and break. Lovely Koi and turtles to gawk at as a stress reliever.
Exquisite park in Japanese style and layout. Nice place to temporary escape from the realiaty for your rest.
Beautiful and well maintained park. Where you can quietly read a book ir have Beautiful photos with your loved ones.
Beautiful park. It has its sense of calmness and serenity that is often seen in Japanese Garden.
Shared an evening with my family there, I liked it. I wish they could make this small park smoke free zone. I noticed my kids and others were getting annoyed by the smokers in every corner. If it was a big open park then this shouldn't be an issue. It's surrounded by walls (looks very nice), so whatever they smoke you inhale.
Gud quaint place. Cherry blossoms have arrived but not in full glory. Probably by this weekend. It is a nice place to spend for some time with kids.
Peaceful park away from the crowded city. Surrounded by some of the most beautiful Japanese architecture and little pond, it's a great place to relax and enjoy the nature.
It's a small park in the center of the city. It's built in a Japanese style. There are ducks, squirrels and other animals. They are not afraid of people and saw tourists feeding them food. It's a pity that I didn't see the cherry trees that day. The trees haven't blossomed yet
Beautiful little Japanese garden. Not too big. It's completed in two rounds. But very pretty. Beautiful in fall. Not crowded either on a working day.
Great atmosphere, well maintained.. Good place for peace of mind and relaxation. Wonderful for photoshoots too.
Beautiful small park near Square One.
Very nice quiet park in middle of Mississauga downtown... zen garden... soooo many ducks and turtles. Great for kids.. safe area and fenced in all around.
Very beautiful park
So beautiful. There are ducks and fishes in the pond. So nice place for kids and adults.
Great little piece of art, don't expect a big park, more a garden than a park.
Visiting Kariya park a few times of the year is really run. Be it Falls, Cherry blossom or summer picnic. Only cons, no washroom available. Also, request to not feed the ducks. Specially bread ????. Please don't
Absolutely gorgeous place, in every season this Park is beautiful.
Great park. An oasis, right in the middle of the city.
Beautiful little Japanese park right by Square one mall...parking was kind of difficult to find.
One of the most beautiful and soothing places in the heart of the bustling city of Mississauga.
Small but has all the sights of a typical Japanese's Garden: Bridge, pond, small waterfall, bamboo fence, gate, zen garden. I love the terrace where you down down the pond and see turtles swimming in it.
This park is a cute small park. I have seen some japanese parks in South Korea so this fell short of my expectations.
Very peaceful park! Will visit again for sure!
It was so beautiful. I grew up in mississauga my whole life and never walked through it before ; I was amazed when I did. I felt like I was somewhere far away. Like a little mini vacation
Loved visiting - felt like a little Japanese retreat within the downtown core. The Japanese art piece at the entrance is really nice to see! It was just disappointing to see people disobeying the park's rules by feeding the ducks and squirrels. There was a couple there doing a wedding shoot, which was nice to see, but they frightened the animals with their coloured smoke prop. I think the park needs stricter rule enforcement.
Yes it is a Japanese themed park which is super cool but is a very small park,so i wouldn't recommend if u are traveling from somewhere far.
Nice place for engagement and wedding photos but can be busy. There is 1 hour of free parking across the street at 50-90 burnhamthorpe road west in the parking structure. Lots of benches and little ponds and bridges. Beautiful place but can be even more beautiful when cherry blossoms bloom. Right now, it seems a bit gloomy due to parts of the park being closed.
This a very small yet a senic one. Love the waters and ducks. My daughter loves it a lot a quiet place to enjoy the evening.
Always nice and pretty. Excellent place to take pictures!
Beautiful place to have a break from the city life. So peaceful and the animals are super friendly
Quiet and amazing place in the heart of Mississauga downtown!
Really felt transported in the middle of the city. Though the park was small, it was very serene and the flora was beautiful! There’s only street parking buts it’s a dollar an hour
Beautiful park with wonderful scenery. Great for photos!
MashaAllah this place is really peaceful
Nice little park, usually quiet when I go. The Cherry Blossom trees here are beautiful, and I believe there are 2 different types here. This year, one bloomed earlier than the other type, but still very beautiful.
Such a beautiful park...nice and calming
I went here a few weeks back in July 2020. Quaint little area. I went at around 8pm which was surprisingly busy with children and families, so it was a tad difficult capturing photos without people in the background. That said, it’s a nice little place to visit if you’re in the area but not worth the trek if you’re located 20+ mins away. Kind of wish there was more upkeep for the fixtures, litter, and in the pond area.
I personally really loved going to this park. It was so quiet and calm and it was just a very beautiful sight as a whole. If your looking for a spot to sit down and chill this is a perfect spot. If you wanna take photos, it is also a really nice place to take photos. Saw a couple take their wedding photos while on the bridge. It is also close to the Square one shopping mall so if you wanna go somewhere else after, the mall is the perfect getaway.
As the name goes, this park is named after its twin city of "Kariya" which is in Japan. As you enter this park, you are greeted with ethnic Japanese architectural elements which are a Pagoda shapes roof, a Bronze Zen gong, Cherry blossom trees, Zen gardens, ponds with ducks and so on. Its a fairly compact area, but beautifully maintained. It has many more interesting elements, like the mosaic painting and the stone statues of twin sisters. Its a good spot to take your family too, and your kids will surely love running around the ponds and the green landscape, ring the gong, and definitely click a zillion pictures. A Perfect spot for photoshoots and a few hours of unwinding yourself. A definite must visit.
Nice Japanese themed garden park in the city. It's not super large, but it is very pretty. There were several ducks doing duck things in the ponds, very entertaining to watch. This is my favorite type of garden and while it wasn't as large as I had imagined it, I did enjoy the time we spent three.
Beautiful but small Japanese themed hidden park in the midst of Square One area. Cherry blossom trees often bloom in the spring, there are ducks and turtles in the pond. Beautiful scenery all year round. Only wish there was a bigger version of this nearby!
Nice little serene Japanese garden in the middle of bustling Mississauga town centre. Lots of matured trees and ponds making it ideal for walks. Garden also used for wedding photography but requires paid permit.
One of the best closed parks near square one, this park is small in size, but the ambience is awesome and we can see lot of squirrels, ducks and sometimes pigeon too. They does not fear humans and come very close to us, which was too good and my kid enjoyed alot.
Very small...good for walk but not recommendedfor toddlers. 2 beautiful cherry blossom trees in front n small ponds with ducks. Street parking busy so usually people park in the nearby school parking lot on weekends.
This park was wonderful to visit as it still feels secluded despite being in the middle of the city. It has nice scenery and is perfect for a short walk or a small picnic.
A pleasant, relaxing place for evening or morning walks. Literally anytime..
It’s nice and suitable for photo shoots.
This is a hidden gem in Mississauga, around the corner from the Marilyn Munro towers. It’s a Japanese influence park named after Kariya with Cherry Blossom trees (when in bloom), in a quaint, serene space. The park is very small - you can literally walk through it in 5 minutes. It’s a great place to get lost in, relax, read a book, or watch the ducks, birds: coy fish, and turtles. It’s pretty cool. #cherryblossom #ducks #park #coyfish #serenity #mississauga #hiddengems
Very picturesque, a great place for an outdoor photoshoot. But be prepared for others with the same idea, it can be congested at times.
A great place to bring kids for fresh air in a tranquil. Despite signs advising not to feed the ducks that was the main activity of other visitors.
Its a cool place to see and walk around.
Very nice green area. Great little piece of nature tucked away from all of the hustle and bustle of the main road.
Nice little park for a nature relax
This place is very peaceful and quiet, it is so nice to see the ducks and turtles????
Amazing view, hidden gem in the heart of Mississauga, also very close to Square one, love the Japanese theme. Great atmosphere and very quiet, great place to chill! IG: Moody.Clx for more!
A beautiful hidden gem near square one, it is a great place to check out for the Japanese asthetics right in the middle of the city. It isn't too big but the whole area just feels very serene and peaceful that we spent 2 hours just sitting and relaxing.
Small place with two ponds and a lot of ducks. Pretty sweet though
It feels like a small, quiet and peacful break from the standard city experience of missisiauga but since I visited here during the fall and the other city during the winter, I can't compare it with my visit to pictures of the city in Aichī that it is named after. While being less than 150 meters from a very busy street it was oddly silent there, the animals would walk up to us and it was very cool to just sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. They also have a few stunningly beautiful murals along with seals from the kariya flag along the bells and walls that made the cultural inspiration of the area feel tangible.
Nice place to have a walk and see cherry blossom trees
Japanese themed park. Small one, not very big but excellent place for photography. Specially during cherry bloom. People come here to take pictures of wedding, graduation, special ceremony. I like it, because other than the busy time it's calm, quiet and peaceful.
This park is so beautiful and peaceful! Perfect for meditation.
Very small park and not even maintained properly.
Amazing place to get away from the city, without really getting out of the city!
Small but very beautiful park in downtown Mississauga. It's themed in Japanese culture. The park has a small water pond in the middle of the park which is very scenic. It's very good place to bring kids. The garden is very well maintained. There is no dedicated parking available for park. It has only few spots of pay and park roadside parking.
Very small park, small pond walking track.
Kariya park was really pretty. It's a great place for professional photography but it's tiny! You can probably walk around the whole park within 5 minutes. I hear it's pretty in the spring when the cherry blossoms come out but I've never been at that time of year. The one day I was there there was a nice maple tree with vibrant red colours that made for a good photography spot.
Really cool place one of the more serene parks in the area and used often for photoshoots during the spring there's cherry blossoms
I have been to this park several times It’s small but still beautiful and scenic . Does not get too crowded
Nice little park to visit with friends and family. Also great for taking pictures !
Hang on with mother nature ... Must Visit
Amazingly serene place in midst of Mississauga downtown. Tells tale of our connection with Japan( city called Kariya) Cherry blossoms in season, place for photoshoots, ducks n fishes in the pond, small walking trail as the park/garden is not very big. I hate to see people feeding ducks/fishes stuff that shouldn't be fed to these animals.
Awesome place for a short visit with family. Very limited parking but their is parking available in Malls area.
Small park but we'll kept and pretty, it would be great if they had a ready room in the premise because I noticed many mother's with small kids coming here; peaceful plane in the heart of Mississauga. Good place for a relaxing walk
Very cool place even in ther winter. Can't imagine how gorgeous and serene it is in the spring and summer. Def worth a visit!
Small and beautiful. You will find yourself close to japanese culture.Good place to see several birds.Turtles and Fishes also keep you entertained. The only major drawback is the lack of parking. You will have to park at square one mall which is a 7 minutes walk
It is a very beautiful and peaceful little park.
Beautiful park to relax and for picnics
Always a beautiful place! Great for dates and picnics!
Lovely spot to enjoy the beauty of the nature. Love to visit and see the different seasons
Decent park, good for the surrounding community at Eve condo
A Beautiful garden in the central of Mississauga.. nice place to hangout in the evening with family .. lot of trees , ducks and ponds in it .. the park is very clean.. the place become more vibrant and beautiful during spring for cherry blossom... it has a wooden bridge to cross between the ponds .. The only disadvantage is there is no playgrounds, swings Or slides for the kids .. All in all the park is a nice hangout place for the people in the neighborhood.
Gorgeous little park, very serene. I always enjoy visiting kariya park, especially when cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Best time to go is midday during the week as the weekends get quite busy.
Such a cute park but very small! Perfect for a photoshoot
very beautiful park
Nice little sanctuary in the city with a pond, some greenery and decoration. Good place to walk and enjoy the ducks!
Small and tranquil garden that gives you a glimpse of Japanese architecture in the midst of sky high towers. Best time to visit is spring. Went last Saturday, there were Magnolia and cherry in full bloom. A hidden gem.
Pretty park. Makes you feel like your are in Japan. Generally very crowded and it's impossible to find parking. Please beware of parking tickets.
A surprise cute park. The ducks and squirrels are so adorable. Good place for peaceful walk here.
A nice and quiet park in the middle of a residential area. It’s nicely kept. A little small but a nice recluse for a few minutes.
Beautiful Japanese Gardens in the heart of Mississauga!
I took someone very special to me here a couple of time and It's a nice little park to go to. I like the water and the giant bell that's there. It's somewhere I may go during a wedding. I did see many brides and Grooms at this park. I've seen a lot of influencers take pictures at this park. It seems like a lost gem of Mississauga.
Small park in Mississauga. You can enjoy of the calm and nature ( ducks, birds and squirrels). The architecture is pretty and the environment is perfect to have a nice conversation or find the peace into the city.
It was a lovely experience visiting this park. There is a roadside parking outside the park, which is good. Good place to take photos and hold picnics.
Gorgeous park with a small pond and a path. Parking is very limited.
Nice place to relax inside the downtown
Adorable little Japanese inspired park. A little too small and the location of being in downtown Mississauga has it being too loud
Hidden oasis in heart of the city. This park is small and very serene and beautiful. Once you are there, you will feel like you are in Japan. Highly recommended a visit!
A great place to take a walk or relax in the city. Would be great for dates or just going solo. And it's walking distance (probably < 5min) from square one. Would highly recommend.
Went here for Hanami. Wish there had been more Sakura trees but alas, it was still great to see the one Sakura Bloom.
Not the park it used to be. Dirty with litter everywhere. The park is not well maintained anymore.
Beautiful park for yourself or the whole family, go there to relax, enjoy the scenery, or just for a walk. If it was bigger it would be better. A beautiful hidden gem in a growing city however and great for a multitude of activities. Love it!
Serene, but can get busy at times. If you can catch the park when it's quiet, it's a great place to be!
This is a quaint tiny garden with some ducks in dirty water. The effort that was made to make this garden a cute space is admirable but it is more like a nicely created backyard garden with a theme than a place to sightsee or picnic. As my teenage niece puts it, "it's a place you go to cry after failing a Math test and needing to cry." It is small and cute but not much to see or do here.
Hard to believe that in the heart of Mississauga is a relaxing place you can spend some time inside for reading, meditation or simply be with nature
Beautiful gem hidden in downtown.. interesting story behind this park highlighting connection to Kariya city in Japan . The Park is relatively very small park but it has serene vibes with beautiful pins but well popular among locals for little escapade to other realm:)
This is a new favourite park for my family. Parking nearby was reasonable, and the park itself is unique for the area. We enjoyed the shade, squirrels, and ducks on a very hot day. It’s hard to believe this oasis is in the heart of Mississauga.
Beautiful park close to Square One! We took our engagement photos here while the blossoms had bloomed. When we went, the park was clean and not crowded. Definitely would recommend for photos!
It's a nice park for a quiet day sitting around or just for a stroll. I feel its not as well maintained as it could be. The ducks and squirrels here are really friendly and come right up to you without fear. I'm eagerly waiting for the cherry blossoms I've been told will pop up soon.
A nice refuge in busy part of the city.
Nice relaxing Park. Worth visiting
Such a small beautiful park. It is very peaceful and there are a lot of ducks who are approachable. I had a hard time getting my 3 year old son to leave. We spent hours here and he loved it. There are turtles as well!
Just somewhere you cn go for a 5 min walk. Do not reccomend visiting here unless you are close by
I love this cute little park, I go there with my husband whenever we can and sit by the pond.
Peace and serenity never cease to leave this park. Any season any time of the day you will find the nature close to you. Just go and sit on the bench and feel it
Calm very nice park. When not busy in weekday mornings, really feel like in Japan country side.
I love this place! It’s so beautiful! I wish there was more cherry blossoms (I only saw 2) but they were pretty nonetheless
Loved this tiny park. Hidden gem. Been coming to square one for years but only saw this park in April 2021. Came for the cherry blossoms. Stayed for the tranquility.
A nice cozy park near Mississauga town center celebrating the twin city of Mississauga, Kariya in Japan. Does definitely have a japanese/oriental feel to it. A nice place to relax with all the ponds/water and also a good place for kids with all the bridges, ducks/geese and squirrels around
very small park, with extremely photogenic spots, great for prom pics. the flowery trees are beautiful and the mini ponds are cute.
Beautiful park in centre of Mississauga . Looks absolutely stunning during spring ????
Beautiful spot to stop by, enjoy a quiet evening, or just watch the ducks in the water. Could be busy in the evening. Tons of space to sit down, enjoy a short walk, or take a few pictures. You mean even spot a turtle in the water when you’re there!
Small but beautiful park especially during this part of the month. June, July and August will see more colorful trees and will be worth visiting again.
This is an amazing hidden gem found right across from square one. (You have probably driven past it many times!) If you want a great quiet place with very unique art to see.. this is the place! Also, bring a camera with you because there are lots of great shots for you too take with your loved ones! There are lots of benches where you can watch the ducks swim by too! Enjoy.
Beautiful park!
Ducks, Turtles and Geese to name a few things you'll see lots of at this park. So many couples come here to take pictures, it is truly a peaceful and relaxing park in the middle of a busy city like Mississauga. Lush greenery, ponds, beautifully landscaped gardens and great workmanship in the Carpentry related structures built on site for the neighborhood to enjoy. So great full to have this place in my backyard!
You can feel about Japanese park in here
Its not really a park. Nice area near Square One. Condos, eateries, bus stops. Dodnt see any benches. Bit of garbage around. Better destinations in the city if you're looking for a park environment. Google them.
Nice little park, very small place, nothing much to see or do.
Good Japanese Garden. Ducks and coi, though you can't see many of the fishes. A bit of tranquility to rest. Nice place for a pic-nic while enjoying a bit of nature right in the middle if the craziness that is Mississauga's downtown.
Beautiful place to watch ducks and walk around.
Love this park. Very secluded. Very relaxing. Loved seeing all the turtles and the squirrels walk up to you. Highly recommend people going here.
Park is nice and clean. A great place to spend time with your loved ones.
Beautiful spot in the center of Mississauga. Close to Square one but so beautiful and in full bloom in Spring. With small ponds and ducks, geese and awesome fishes. Wonderful for family and friends gathering!
This park is small but it is one of the prettiest. Located just in the middle of the city it can't get any better. Highly recommend a visit when the cherry ???? blossoms
Nice little park to visit. My favourite season to visit this place is during the spring. That’s when all the cherry blossoms are in bloom. It’s a very pretty sight to see. Parking around this park is limited. There are some road side paid parking in front and a small parking lot near by.
Gorgeous park in the heart of the city, especially on a blue-skied day. Ducks, squirrels, fish are in supply. I can imagine how gorgeous it'll be with the cherry blossoms in bloom. Around the park, there's a balanced combination of wooden structures, stone and green, all gorgeous with a distinctly Asian touch of curved, flying roofs. There's a gorgeous green bell on the pavilion from where you can look into the lake or sit down. An oasis in Mississauga's city centre.
The garden itself is nice, it is not very large so not much walking. I wish I was able to find free parking though but will definitely visit again, but will take the transit instead.
The park is really pretty and could be a place to relax but it's super crowded for such a small park even during covid. Have visited this twice, but saw multiple couples getting their wedding pictures clicked and some people even coming with their picnic baskets. Park is too small for such activities. But is well maintained and really pretty.
Wonderful park for handout with Family and well planned landscape to sit down or for a quick evening walk
Beautiful place
Came expecting to see cherry blossoms. Was extremely and utterly disappointed that weren't any to be found during the time of the year I came at (late June). Everything else was great though. Solid 4/5 would visit again.
A nice little park located by Square One mall. It has a nice bell given to us by Mississauga's sister city in Japan. We went to see the blossoms this past weekend. They were opening up but still not there. Many people were visiting to see them!
Nice place to get away in the middle of the city
Best park to take picturess, during the spring. This park is an example of city twining with other cities in Japan. Great landscape to capture and print Japanese inspired art. During the summer, you can find turtles in the pond. Because this park is popular it can get fairly busy during the spring/summer, great way to spend 1-2 hours in Mississauga.
This place is extremely pretty and harmonious! Very peaceful with a beautiful puddle, plenty of ducks and cherry blossoms!!
This is a beautiful park just a few hundred metres south of Square One Shopping Centre. You might even get into such a relaxing state to forget that this gem is found inside a busy city. The design reminded me of a similar inner city park I visited in Tokyo in Dec-2019. Wow! Street parking is available for $1 per hour with a two hour maximum which should be enough time to recharge your soul!
Love the beauty of the park. So peaceful and relaxing. ???? but squirrels were looking us like they r so hungry. hope caretaker feeds all creatures there. ????
A small neighborhood Japanese park. Point worth knowing is that there's ONLY one cherry blossom tree inside the park and a few outside. Parking is also horrible. High park is better in a way.
Beautiful place peaceful. Always special no matter which season you go
A small beautiful park in the middle of a concrete jungle. I appreciate the efforts of its creators. You can find tortoises in the small pond within the park. Best time to go is early mornings - you won't find much crowd.
Beautiful garden with a pretty trail.. It's not too big, but it's nice as the locality in which it is located is quite densely populated right in the heart of Mississauga near Square one..
Too crowded on Sundays probably best to reach this place for shoots on weekdays when I not so busy. Top bad the zen garden behind the bell shrine isn't being maintained. Speaking of which, the area could use a little clean up.
Love tht they always change the Flowers often and ita clean quiet happy
Amazingly beautiful
A great place , that too right within the city. It’s a privilege to have such serenity right in the middle of a busy city. Any day spent here is a good day !
Really peaceful and tranquil park. The park is as authentic as it will get to a traditional Japanese garden.
Small park but good location for photography
Amazing beautiful cherry blossom park in Mississauga
Very nice peaceful park
It's a nice little park. Knew ahead of time that the cherry blossoms would not be out at this time yet but still went to walk around. It's wheelchair accessible/friendly. Roadside parking, $1/hr maximum 2 hours. Will go back when it's sakura season. A few other places good to go shopping so plan your day ahead.
A beautiful park to hang out with young kids and toddlers...although it was a bit small but ducks, fishes ,turtles and scenic beauties add charm to it.
Very well managed Zen Garden, tranquil and has a calm feeling to it. Perfect for meditating on a quiet day.
I honestly didn't know that this park had all these beautiful structures and the pond or anything but when I got there it was peaceful and now that I know more about it im gonna go and actually explore the park some more...so wait for the update...
Great place to relax
It's a beautiful place for nice pictures BUT... They now have caution tape everywhere so doesn't look so nice for pictures.... have to be creative tho....
Great spot to go for a casual walk and get some natural shade from a scorching sun!
Beautiful Japanese park just around the corner. A friendship garden of Japanese and Canadian culture, flowers and plants. Free entrance, enjoyed the cool autumn weather. You can get snacks from nearby Subway. Great for family and children outdoor walk.
Beautiful park amidst a very busy area, and a must see when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom! The park is small but loaded with amazing photos ops! If you’re going on a weekend, it’s best to park your car in the square one parking lot by the BMO and then just a 5 minute walk across the street. Enjoy! ????
A very Serene Park. With beautiful trees like Cherry Blossom ???? And small ponds with ducks swimming around. Squirrels and other beautiful birds nesting away in the greenery is a sight to behold. Must go to place for enjoying nature in the city's hustle bustle.
Pretty cool little spot in the middle of Mississauga. Great for a romantic walk or a solo ponder.
Although this park is small, it has a very zen like feel to it. The park is beautiful & serene. It is the perfect place to get away if you need some quiet time. A diamond in the rough.
It's not a big park but it's beautiful. Love the cherry blossoms ????
Cherry blossom trees bloom in summer here giving a picturesque background. You can find people here clicking pics of trees, flowers, even doing photo shoots. It gives a good feeling of being in a green place right in the middle of city.
A beautiful Japanese garden right in the heart of Mississauga and steps from Square one. A scenic spot to watch the ducks, geese and turtles. A hidden gem known to locals for its Sakura blossoms and Rhododendron bushes.
Beautiful Park decor focused on Asian Culture. Not all areas of the park are Dog Friendly. A few Duck Ponds, Rock & Wood Bridges to walk on, plenty of benches and shaded seating areas, but it's Paid Parking out front with minimal spots.
Very peaceful garden. Nice pathways for a comfortable walk. Only grouse is the ill maintained lake. Plenty of geese and birds roam around.
Good and beautiful to visit...at least once...but nothing extraordinary...
Most amazing and scenic garden in the middle of high rise buildings near square one. Best time to visit spring and summer. Parking is available on the front door and paid which was like 1$ per hour. But you can park free in streets. It’s a small park so 2 hours are quite enough for viewing it.
I really wished people respected the place more... There's garbage everywhere and kids running in to the Zen Garden that specifically said it's a place of contemplation and not for play. Is it the City of Mississauga that's responsible for the upkeep of this park? In any case, it's a good idea... But just a little disappointing. One of the *very* few places in Toronto (GTA) with cherry blossoms.
Nice small park in middle of busy Mississauga. Ideal for walk after busy day to calm & be one with nature.
One of the most sought after wedding photography locations in Mississauga. It’s a hidden gem. It has everything that you could imagine: a small but gorgeous lake, a beautiful bridge, lots of ducks in the lake, plenty of trees and amazing greenery. This is my go to place!
Beautiful Japanese park in the middle of Mississauga.
Great nature backdrop in the heart of missisauga. No entrance fee. Good place to get some fresh air. Ducks and squirrels makes the place so fun for kids.Park is busy and quite crowded at times, but kids will love it! (Roadside parking). The park is maintained well and clean. Awesome place for morning walks and photoshoot!! Been here numerous times, but still love it and close to heart..
Excellent park with a small lake and bridge. Has thriving habitat of turtles, ducks and squirrels. Nice place for photo ops. Can get crowded on weekends and evenings during fine weather.
Love this park. Quiet and relaxing. In the heart of Mississauga. Nice cheap parking spot across the street. Perfect for a family picnic or walk.
A colleague told me about this park months ago but never found the time to go. Took the family a little while back and we had a great time. Small, but a real hidden gem close to Square One.
Small but a good park.
A great local park, designed beautifully in a small area. Great place to relax as there are 2 small ponds with ducks and tortoises. Gives you a good feel of the nature and the Japanese inspired garden.
It's a small quiet park behind homes. Good for photography
A very small park. But very nice sceneries. Lots of beautiful trees and flowers. Kids can enjoy ducks, turtles and squirrels. A very good place for photography too. Parking is very limited. Paid parking is available for 1 dollar an hour. Normally one hour is enough for this park to see it all.
A nice quiet place to take a stroll and or take pictures for weddings or casual shoots. During the month of May you'll find the cherry blossoms blooming, just don't park along the side as it is a prohibited place to park and enforcement is usually lurking around the area, handing out tickets.
One of mississauga secret gems this park has cherry blossom trees and a gong and mini bridges and animals in the heart of Square One. Would recommend to all
I love this place.. wonderful for wedding photography and to relax
I was shock that it wasn't that large but nonetheless it's a very beautiful and quiet park.
Gorgeous little park in the heart of the city. Great place to see the cherry blossoms in the spring and avoid the chaos of High Park in Toronto. Small but peaceful and worth a visit.
Beautiful park in Mississauga, green and natural. Saw koi (fish) , turtles, birds, and ducks.
Nice park. Ducks and cherry blossom are main attractions. But its small and crowded in summer
My gf and I came here for a photoshoot. The park is small than I expected but is good enough to get some amazing photos. It is very clean, quiet and it is a wonderful place to spend 2 hours in.
A small but beautiful well maintained and designed park in the heart of city. With waterfowls and flowers it's a great attraction to visit with children.
Small size, nice park, best for photos in cherry blossom season, waterbody makes you feel relaxed. Entrance architecture is good for photos
Beautiful park with a duck pond. A nice place to be with nature, enjoy the pond and the ducks, and meditate upon good, positive thoughts. It is a very small park. If you are looking for a picnic place with a big park, lots of benches, and walking trail/s, playground for children, and a free parking this park is not for you. Unlike most of the parks in Mississauga, there is no free parking. The entrance and the park are on Kariya drive. Just a few cars can be parked on the street for $1:00 an hour for a maximum of two hours. Well, one $ an hour is very nominal, but you may not get a spot to park. It is a good idea to park your vehicle anywhere in Square One area where there are plenty of free parking lots. The advantage is that you have at least some distance to walk to the park and back. There is hardly anything to walk in the park.
Serene place, also nice view to have pictures taken
Amazing place to go and get pictures taken. The atmosphere is very relaxed and chilled. The animals are so friendly theyll come right up to you and eat out of your hand
Beautiful small park for a little walk, can't wait to see it in full bloom. Have it 4 stars because dogs aren't allowed in the park area.
Gorgeous title park near Square One. Looks like its regularly maintained and landscaped. There's a little pond and a wooden bridge. Can get a little busy on days with good weather. Great place for a photo-shoot!
Best park to visit during Cherry blossom season. Park is not large in size, so sometimes it may get busy during weekends. Best to explore on a weekdays.
Beautiful place to visit in summer as well as in winter. Has a nice seating area by the lake. Many ducks and squirrels for kids to watch. Great play area on the side but sometimes it gets crowded. Kids should not be left unattended coz the lake doesn't have any kind of barrier.
Nice park to visit.
Tucked little space in downtown Mississauga this park is a wonderful Sanctuary for people of all ages The park is themed with beautiful little ponds and ducks cherry blossom trees Don't expect to see a large spread of a park because it's very small but because it's so thoughtfully designed that you'll get lost in the Serenity and calm of the place A definite must visit very underrated but must go to
This place is a sanctuary, a little piece of heaven in the middle of downtown Mississauga. There are about 4 ponds, lots of ducks and some turtles and squirrels. It's not a big park but is designed for relaxation and is fenced in so that you are not distracted by the city. Time stands still in this Japanese garden.
Beautiful compact Japanese themed garden park. It's small, and very scenic with different areas to stroll and take pictures around a central pond, so it's quite busy. Several structures to provide some shade and places to sit. There's also a traditional rock garden, but sadly children of some ignorant parents or individuals play on the raked rock surface so it is frequently ruined. Not much in the way of traditional park space, so don't come expecting to play soccer here. Street parking within a 1 minute walk, and food establishments across the street. TIP: Park at Fairview Public School around the corner for free less congested parking during non-school hours and just walk through the back of the school yard to the park.
Beautiful park - always a pleasure to come visit. My only gripe was that the signage clearly states no dogs and no bicycles, but there were people coming into the park with them. I think the signage needs a bit updating as they seem outdated, and a bit more clear. Even during these times, especially when it is busiest during the blossoming season, I think there needs to be someone at the front monitoring those coming in so as not to disturb the beauty and peaceful atmosphere of the park. Another thing - the zen garden is sadly unfixed. I was looking forward to observing it but it was naught.
Beautiful peaceful park to visit have a cup of tea or juice while sitting with peace ... small pound inside with ducks and fishes inside... enjoy your weekend here... neat clean place ...
Love this park. Small but very beautiful. Perfect place for amazing photoshoot.
Beautiful little park with cherry blossoms
A good japanese themed park which is nestled in Mississauga very close to square one. As soon as you enter you are welcomed by a cute little water body with a bridge over it. You go further you get to see an old huge alloy bell hanging.. Nice to laze around and spend some me time. The biggest advantage is that it is in a walkable distance to many of the residential units around. Worth visiting once to rejuvenate your senses.
Nice park japense style ponds with koi fish, ducks and turtles. Park is very small.
Very nice and quiet park. Limited parking is on the street. Great for picnic on the grass area, although they'll be ducks and squirrels coming up to you for food. Theres a pond with a overpass bridge that is great place for photos and a Japanese theme shelter that has a large bell in the middle. Good area to get some zen
Beautiful tranquil park in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of the city.
Beautiful hidden gem of a park with breathtaking scenic sites. Perfect spot for a couple's or family shoot, a peaceful walk or a picnic
Beautiful, the animals here also love interacting with people!
Beautiful park. Took my wedding photos here. Only downside is the parking situation is horrible.
Great to take pics with turtles and ducks. And not much crowded
Nice park good theme, needs good maintenance
Very beautiful park????❤
Beautiful but yet small park
A very nice and peaceful park at the heart of city. You can see all the tall buildings surrounding this park, but the park brings the Zen to the busting life around. Beautiful landscape with niche Japanese reference everywhere. 10 minutes walk around, stroller and wheelchair friendly.
This Garden is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, calming, it’s very zen! Great place to read a good book, take wedding photos, first date, feed the ducks ☺️ have a picnic. It’s a little hidden gem!
It is supposed to be a nice Japanese park, and it was designed well, but it was not kept well and being the only park near so many apartments, also very busy. Parking is on road. I guess Cherry blossom and Fall May have good photo opportunities.
Gorgeous park, great for photos
Fantastic park for babies or older kids. Younger kids are done with it in 10 minutes ????
This little Japanese Park/Garden is very nice and quite peaceful and in the middle of downtown Mississauga. There are quite a lot of ducks and squirrels living in it, but they dont bother anyone. On the weekends this park is almost continuously used by couples to take their wedding pictures so I strongly advise everyone to visit during the week to experience the peace and tranquility the park has to offer.
Beautiful park, well kept with ducks and a nice walk. Small but nice to relax and go for a stroll or sit on a bench. Parking is on the street and free after 6pm.
Only three trees were fully bloomed mid May. A bit disappointed but beautiful nonetheless. A cute little park great for a walk during lunch or an hour of reading time.
Very nice place clean and beautiful Thank you
Beautiful park beside square one. You almost forget that you're in the middle of a city while sitting and watching the fish
Beautiful park!! Its a family park with ponds and ducks. My boy really enjoyed.
very nice but needs some landscaping. the south pond is very murky and muddy looking
Its a beautiful park , kids love the duck ponds, the cherry blossom trees are beautiful in spring and it has this beautiful small bridge over the ponds .. theres seating ,its a serene peaceful japanese park and great for any photography... its well maintained and clean. The ducks and geese randomly walk here and there its a pleasure to watch...
Nice place very close to Square one. If you don't find parking, you can park in square one and walk by. The park is a little small but liked the atmosphere, ponds and the ducks in it, serene feeling.. There are a couple of spots for Bubble tea just near by.
Small park with coy pond and geese who are very ok with humans being in their space.????..some sitting areas great for meditation....best to avoid weekends..was very busy..
The park was a small gem located in residential area. It was beautiful to talw a stroll through it. It's not very large but plently of things to explore.
Best friend had her wedding photoshoot here, the trees were still changing colours which made it exceptionally beautiful. The park has some very nice spots for photos for weddings or engagements. Highly recommend!!
Very old japanese traditional themed park
The park was crowded just to see cherry blossom blooming. The duck in the ponds were giving good view. Good place for photo shoots.
Favorite park in Mississauga. Beautiful throughout the seasons.
Japanese garden steps from Square one mall. An oasis of calm in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Mississauga downtown. The pond has ducks swimming and walking around all over. Look into the pond to see if you're able to spot the turtles and the huge orange Koi fish.
This park is beautiful, its small but i dont feel like i am in canada. So serene and calm, wish there were some fish in the ponds though.
Cute little park with a variety of things to see including a small pond, cherry blossom trees and garden statues. Highly recommend!
Just beautiful. Totally recommended for families, friends and couples.
Serene, beautiful place to walk, take photos in, watch ducks. Even saw wedding pictures being taken.
Its a small park, but very beautiful with small ponds, it takes you to the world of peace and serenity.
Best place in Mississauga downtown, to get away of the city and experience a real connection with nature, is amazing in all 4 seasons
Great little Japanese park to visit. The best time is during the summer when the landscaping is done and the all the plants are in their prime. Excellent location for photography shoots as well.
Nice peaceful park in the heart of Mississauga. Can get busy at times but nice if looking for somewhere to relax or maybe have a photoshoot
Amazing park with ducks and turtles in the pond. I wish they better enforced the no smoking rule.
You can easily enter Zen mode when you are here. The waters, the ducks, the birds, the squirrels intertwined with fresh air and wonderful people who comes for a walk, will take you to a state of transcendence!! I am not a good photographer. Just clicked few pics. Do not miss Cheery blossoms during the season. It's another level of happiness one should experience. You can watch children play, very different from other parks. I could sense that they are more joyful and playful here. One of the serene places in Mississauga where wedding, pregnancy photoshoots takes place frequently. Yoga classes, get togethers happen as well. Altogether, it's a perfect spot for both introverts and extroverts!
Park is nice but visited at wrong time cherry blossoms weren't bloomed... All over it was beautiful.. will definitely visit again.
Gorgeous little park. Lots of ducks and squirrels, and if they come out there is a few turtles we saw with excitement. Despite being close to a road, the atmosphere is pretty quiet aside from the ducks. I genuinely wish I lived close to a park like this as it is a perfect place to relax and read. I would recommend.
One of my favourite little parks.
Really beautiful and calm park. Pictures come out great. Usually not that busy but if it is, there's definitely a lot of families out with their kids. There is limited street parking that you have to pay for but you could always just park at square one and walk it to the park, it's within walking distance. Overall, really great place to hang out.
Beautiful and serene. Ducks and fishes in the ponds there.
Very nice little Japanese garden with friendly ducks and squirrels.
This is The Best Park in Mississauga, I was happy to hear about it through my high school friend back in 2008/2009, apparently there used to be a Zen place but it wasn't maintained. The sakura season is the best time to go to the park, it makes me feel sentimental.
A very cool park in the middle of the concrete jungle of Mississauga downtown. It Japanese zen garden. And during late spring it's filled with cherry blossoms. A popular spot for wedding photos and even occasional photography. Very serene and beautiful park. And the squirrels are so bold and would come up to for feed... hence there are signs everywhere not to feed the animals.
It's divinely beautiful, well kept, peaceful and a happy place
A beautiful park with Japanese flavour. Perfect for a family's day out.
It is a small and peaceful park with Cherry Blossoms. The duck pond make the environment so enjoyable.
It's a small yet beautiful nature's place in the middle of the city's hustle and bustle. Good for kids during summer as there are many friendly ducklings and squirrels.
Great park. It's a little small, but it is very well maintained. It is especially pretty during spring when cherry blossom trees bloom. A great place for photos. Highly recommended.
Great place to take pictures and I've seen many couples taking their wedding pictures here.
Hidden gem in the middle of a city. It's quite and scenic. Love seeing a family ducks & turtles in the pond.
Good place for time pass. Its very small but quite. Also parking at $1 per hour very cheap.
Amazing park to visit. Green everywhere and well maintained park
Beautiful park ???? and view is amazing. Lots of people there proposing and taking baby/pregnant shots.
Great park with gorgeous scenery . It has a japanese theme with lots of colours , beautiful birds and small but magical lake . Perfect for special occasion photo sessions . This is a small park so you can spend around 30 min - 1 hour to see everything inside . No play ground and limited parking spots , but it is a must visit.
This is a cute little heaven amidst the cityscapes of Mississauga. A perfect place for a light walk at any time of the year! But the best time? Spring! Don’t miss the Cherry blossoms here. P.S. Don’t forget to buy the parking ticket ???? (even if you think you’re just entering for 5 mins)!
This park is small yet beautiful! There is roughly 2 small ponds and 1 larger pond with a bridge. Ithis park is home to many ducks, so please be kind! The photos that were taken here cam out beautifully. I will be taking photos during the cherry blossom season. There is paid parking on the street. It's 2$ for 2 hours, Square one is right up the street. Dogs and Bicycles are not aloud in this park so visitors can enjoy it. Next time you get photos taken I highly suggest going to this location!
Beautiful Japanese themed park!
Very pretty. Japanese Cherry blossoms are blooming. Inside there is wildlife, greenery and places to sit and just enjoy the outdoors.
I would call this space a mix between a park and a parkette. Not a very large path/ground to spend away the afternoons but it is a nice retreats away from the neighboring high rises. Most of all, you can come to appreciate the little touches and eclectic charm around every corner
Really beautiful peaceful park that is usually quite quiet. The park has big trees, bridges, ducks, and cherry blossom trees! A nice spot to go to if you’re in the area; especially nice if it’s cherry blossom season! It’s located right across from Square One
Excellent little oasis in the heart of the city. I didn't know it existed until I searched up Japanese style gardens. It has a Japanese style wall surrounding it on all sides. Plenty of benches and trees provide shade for you sprawl out. There is a tiny zen garden that unfortunately is not given the attention it deserves.
I live in the Square one area and love going here. It's a peaceful little park with lots of ducks, turtles, fish etc. to see. Always a good spot for a relaxing walk.
Kariya Park is glowing with beautiful flowers and nature getting the uplift of Spring. A good park to exercise and keep safe during the lockdown
A gem in the heart of Mississauga to celebrate our Sister City in Japan. There are interesting water features, a pavilion and lots of cool things to explore. Just steps away from Square One and Celebration Square.
Lovely Garden with cute duck pond & lots of squirrels. If you're lucky you might spot a little turtle. Kids love feeding the ducks as well
Park is very tiny yet beautiful. Being small, social distancing may not be possible. Parking is biggest problem here.
Very beautiful park and serene!!
Nice place to visit in the summer
We went to see the cherry blossoms but I think towards the day end of the season. It's a small park so you can get to see almost all the trees at one glance. But having said that, it's a nice place for an afternoon visit, places to sit and watch the geese glide by in the pond. A place to go if you have small kids for sure.
Small but cute Japanese-designed garden. Don't expect it to compete with actual Japanese gardens in Japan as there's only so much you can do with the different climate, but they've added many mini tableaus that come close.
Perfect place to unwind in silent water stream sound. Carry some snacks or lunch for a breathtaking pleasure meal with mother nature in mids of Mississauga town.
Very nice park.. cherry blossoms are here.. this coming week should be the peak blooming... Today I only saw 3 trees are bloomed ...
Quiet small park with duck pond and the only piece of grass in a jungle of tall concrete and glass buildings across from Sq.1 shopping and we can thank our Chinese canadians for their contributions to that lovely piece of green.
Good place to spend summer evening with friends and family.
I love this park. It features Japanese style parks, cherry trees and a pavilion. It has a pond with ducks and turtles. No bicycles nor pets I believe are allowed. It is small but really beautiful with a few benches and stones to sit and contemplate its beauty.
Beautiful garden with Japanese vibes but too small.
Great place for a peaceful setting. Beautiful and you don't feel like you are at the center of a busy area.
It is located very close to square one mall. A rather small park but very beautiful. It has a pond and lots of ducks for little kids to watch and have fun. We also saw some squirrels that run around the park and my kids loved to chase them. It has some special trees from Japan that bloom in the start of spring/summer- a lovely sight for photography.
Very beautiful Japanese themed park. It is very small and the parking is very limited and paid.
Very quaint Japanese style park in the 905. Beautiful ducks splash about in the ponds and there is a huge bell to check out. Was nice to walk around and get some fresh air in this park.
Beautiful and convincine to live
It's a really nice small park. No pets or bycicle allowed inside the park area. The park it self could be improved but it is what it is
This is one of my favourite escapes in the GTA. It’s as though park was picked up from japan and slammed in the middle of sprawling Mississauga. This park makes you feel tranquil and at peace. There are often people getting wedding photos taken here as well, which is incredibly sweet to watch. Go here to be alone with your thoughts or go here to people watch, either way it’s not a waste of time.
It was after snow that I went, was okish. I saw pictures of it in summers when we have leaves on trees and its awsome. Winters was a lot of slippery due to hardened ice. One lake was partially frozen the other facing sun was good with lot of goose.
Great place to see cherry blossoms, very small park but worth seeing
????️ It's a good park. you can see a lot wildlife here????especially mallard???????? they are so cute. the only thing is the park is little small. oh! if u want to see blossoms???? during the end of March, that would be impossible. I was planning to see it but it's not the time???? probably need to wait until mid April or May.
Beautiful but small park. Parking on the street is $1 per hour with a 2 hr max. No dogs or bikes allowed. No feeding the waterfowl but saw many people do it. Mainly stroller friendly. Lots of ducks, turtles, and squirrels. Water was too cloudy to see the koi clearly. Missed the cherry blossom season by a few weeks.
Gorgeous place to go for a walk with your family and just to relax, ducks, birds, nice trees... I just wish this park was BIGGER! The city needs more big parks in the "downtown" area before it gets covered up with high rises and condos
Good for a small stroll. Nothing special though. Saw some photographers taking use of the main shed with bell for engagement pictures.
Very nice & well hidden frm the publik.. Uu hv 2 appreciate the small nature of peacefulness when ur here.
This is a small park in downtown Mississauga. The park is beautiful but there's not much to do becasue it's very small. It's a nice place for a quick photo shoot specially in the spring where you can take your photo beside the cherry blossom trees. Limited paid parking is available but the park is very close to the square one mall so it's better to park your car at the mall then take a quick walk to get to the park.
Great park, small and in the middle of the city, but you really feel in nature when you are inside the park. Almost forget that you are still in the city. Great for photography or photoshoots as well.
Amazing park to spend time with family and friends. It is so beautiful that you can have photo shoots. And cherry blossom is awesome.
Good place for four seasons photography
It is a nice quiet park to get away from the busy areas around Kariya Park. Also a nice park to just sit and take in the beautiful landscape with flowers, different birds that rest in the trees, watch the squirrels run up and down the trees, watch the ducks and fish swim in the pond (a part of the pond flows under a little wooden bridge). You have a lot of people come to the park to take pictures for their engagements, wedding parties, baby pics as well as for their proms. I enjoy the Cherry blossoms in this park and it attracts the local people as well as Japanese tourists who love taking pictures of the cherry blossoms.
It's beautiful here. Bring seeds to feed the ducks, not bread. Not a good place to hold a wedding or take wedding pictures on the weekend as you have to compete with the recreational crowd and it's already busy as it is. Try weekdays or early mornings. The history of this park is interesting and there is a great big pagoda/gazebo with a nice pond in front of it for contemplation.
So beautiful Change my day
Kids are thrilled to be outside & can see real ducks , fish & turtles. It's also shaded so you can enjoy hours outdoors without being destroyed by the sun. Its also a great place to enjoy eating in serenity.
Amazing place to hang out in the nature while inside the city.
Very nice little park to walk around and have family pictures done will recommend.
Nice and peaceful park. Only wish it was bigger
Small, beautiful serene garden. Glad to have visited it but missed the peak of cherry blossoms.
Gorgeous little zen garden. A little oasis that's been crafted with some thought. Lots of ducks and ducklings in the ponds but overall a great place to go for some quiet in a noisy city.
It's a nice little slice of nature within a bustling city. I was the photographer for a friend's wedding, and the bride had a reservation for an hour and a half for the park. Unfortunately, the city didn't uphold that permit, so that ended up being a waste of time and money. Most of the other people in the park were really disrespectful (not moving out of the shot, etc). My advice, if you're doing a photo shoot there, don't bother with a permit, the city doesn't seem to care and there's nothing you can really do to keep other people out. Beautiful park though.
Beautiful. Cherry blossoms were not ready yet. Nice little pond in a well designed Japanese themed park. Parking can be an issue. We left the car in the square one lot and walked there. A few shops across the street from the park serve refreshing drinks that can be enjoyed sitting on one of the benches, rocks or on the grass in the park.
Very small park...paid parking available for approximately 10 vehicles.. well kept, clean, very peaceful, limited benches, nice shaded picnic areas..
Kariya park is a nice little quiet spot semi hidden in central Mississauga, that is a nice reminder that there is beauty right here in the city. I think just due to covid times, it can get a little busy, but it's not too crowded. They're animals and things like that, for the kids to interact with. Also there is plenty of selfie opportunities if that's your thing. In terms of cultural value, I'm personally not well knowledgeable of all Japanese culture, but I do know a thing or two about it. I'd say that it was definitely put together in a respectful manner. The only negative thing I can say about the park is that, I wish it was a little bigger, but it's still very quaint the way it is. Overall, it's a nice mini escape from daily daunting tasks, in reality, and it comes as no surprise that you feel just a little closer to nature, and peaceful while here. Until the next, Cheers!!
Very beautiful place
Cute little park with lots of ducks, fish, turtles. Parking is paid though and there were lot's of maintenance workers restricting some areas when I visited.
A small park, but the ponds are alive with playful ducks which were delightful to watch. Great place for families or a group of friends to relax. This really is a hidden gem right next to Square One shopping centre. If you are just walking and observing, 30 minutes is enough (when paying for meter street parking).
Get some grenns and peaceful mind in Mississauga core area and really like the Japanese style here
Great park in the city. Can get crowded. Not just crowded very very crowded Too many people come for photo shoot during weekends. The lake and bell in the park is very beautiful
Small but beautiful place with ponds and a nice garden.
Tall beautiful ????!! A touch of sereneness in the heart of city! Walk jog or just sit and watch flora and fauna
A beautiful, tranquil Japanese style park right down the road from the bustle of Square One. I highly recommend for a relaxing stroll. A great place to see a few cherry blossoms without having to deal with the headache of high park.
