This Park is included in the category of Park.
Beautiful environment, clean clear beach to enjoy the summer with family and friends.
Great place for family and friends love the atmosphere great food and ice cream at the restaurant
Great Beach and Park
Excellent family outing
perfect opportunity to enjoy with family, mostly for children
Great place for a family camping
Love the camping lots. Very well treed but no full service. The river tubing is also a blast.
Awesome
Hi guys! The park is a kind of Birds Hill park. Lake,beach,3 play grounds fot kids. A bit old washrooms, ice cream truck, bbq zone.
Good place to go for a date or fun day out. Close and convenient.
Beautiful park for camping or just spending tne day
Great place to camp as a family!
Great park
A fun time is always had here. Great place for the family. Late September is a beautiful time to go.
The water was nice and clean. The beaches were nice.
Clean park
Beautiful scenery, great camping amd middle of week nice and quite.
Beautiful Park
Relaxing place.
Love this place, amazing place to swim and relax, must visit place
Beautiful Provincial Park. With lots of Bike and Walking Trails
Beautiful park, the grass was really long which was a but if a problem playing games.
Very clean n alway nice people
Always a good time at st malos
We could not swim due to poor water conditions and there was a horde of mosquitoes in our camping bay. Lots of fun for the kids on the playground and running around. Not sure we would rush to come back.
Beautiful beach and great family memories
Got lost at one point, amazing experience
Nice beach. Saskatoon berries are everywhere!
Great place near Winnipeg. Good camping structure and for bbq
Camping sites are private. It's close to Winnipeg.
Very nice setting and lake. Pretty decent beach as well.
Nice beach, multiple play structure for kids, water craft rentals, conveniently close to Winnipeg.
Not bad for Manitoba.
(Translated) Very nice place to spend it with family. Shadow and milkshakes for parents, ice cream and playgrounds for children (Original) Дуже гарне місце, щоб провести його з сім'єю. Тінь і молочні коктейлі для батьків , морозиво і майданчики для дітей
Is a nice provincial park. Very clean and beautiful lake.
Grate beach, nise fishing
Camp ground is really nice, lots of trees and very quiet, but the lake has weeds taller than my house.
Clean beach, big parking, good safety arrangements. Very nice place to spend a weekend with a family and friends.
Great environment, beautiful beaches ⛱
It does not have to much for scenery but it's a nice prairie park.
Nice little park.
One of our favorite camping spots.
Great big beach, lots of trees and grass to set up in the shade. Play area for the kids, food and beverage available also. The water is a little gross
Always a pleasure to come to this park. Warm September days are best spent walking through the water and digging your toes in the sand. No entry fee required in Fall. Bring the cooler full of food and plan a family BBQ. Autumn colors are breathtaking.
Nice campgrounds. Our place was on Bay 3 13. Close to water tap, bathrooms and walking trails to go to the beach and playgrounds. Perfect for kids of all ages. Firewood available at the entrance of the campsite, grocery store close by, and fast food restaurant and ice cream truck on spot. Water sports rentals available, canoe, kayak, paddle board. Lots of fun. The only problem I had was finding how much trash people are leaving behind them. Personal can only keep up with so much and I found myself in need of a container to pick up the Gargabe. I wish people would appreciate these places more. You can tell pollution is definitely now everywhere.
The park is nice, they have few barbeque pits along with water taps and sink which is really handy when u r cooking food. But lake is not so big and water is not that clean.
Big and well equipped camp ground. Clean sites. A little rocky for tenting but the pick-nick tables are nice and so are the fire pits are great.
Spacious camping sites and a quiet lake with a nice beach. Playgrounds for the kids and plenty of shade trees. You'll have a wonderful time there.
Very nice place
Great family camping and beach
Wonderful beach! First time there and definitely going back. You can even bring your kayaks and paddle boards!
Good for children.
Beautiful place
peaceful park good for picnic
beautiful provincial park. clean and only 1hour drive from winnipeg.
Great area for families. There are 2 beaches, with three play structures at the main beach and 1 at the smaller beach. When the water is higher you can tube down the Rat River. Start at the bottom of the dam near the main beach and float down to the highway. Takes about 45 mins.
St.Malo is a good provincial park for basic camping but it would be much better if it had some full service sites. It's fairly close to Winnipeg which is nice.
Good place
Park is quite beautiful and a great place to camp. More than half the highway from Winnipeg is under construction though so don't expect to get there in record time.
For Winnipegrs, very close from Winnipeg and awesome site. It has mordern washrooms, coin bathroom, nice beach, lots of camping sites and one or two group use site.
Great place to camp!
Of all I can say about nice shaded sites, decent trails, and modern facilities, the beach here is the cherry on top. Nice water and beautiful sand topped with several playgrounds for the kids and a nice cafe as well as mini golf and an ice cream parlour. ????
Little bit of weeds and algae but overall a pretty nice beach. No motor boats roaring back and forth. Lots of kayaks, canoes etc.
A beautiful and breathtaking provincial park! Loved it! :)
Very private campsites
Nice place
Park is nice, water not so much
Beautiful beach area to hang out with friends and family. Great for young children.
Camped for the first time here. So really no point of comparison. But we had a good enough day. They have a lake with 2 beaches. A small one more into the park and a big one closer to the entrance. There is a play structure close to the larger beach. There are also life jackets that can be borrowed for free. There are shower facilities close to our campground. We were in an area where there were several other campers. Not sure if there is some place more secluded. The wife and kids also enjoyed picking berries by the roadside. Visited June 2016
Didn't camp. But looking forward to kayaking the lake
It was extremely busy and the water was too low to enjoy tubing down the stream, however it was still a very enjoyable experience visiting St. Malo again.
(Translated) Good place to stay with children (Original) Хорошее место для отдыха с детьми
Good for families. The park was pretty and plenty for the kids to do. Was a bad weather weekend so didn't get to enjoy all the amenities but went back another time and loved it. Good job.
Great looking park, with tons of space at the beach. They have a good mix of open and secluded sites depending on your preference.
(Translated) Cool, but the water is very cold ... (Original) Cool, aber das Wasser ist sehr kalt...
Very nice park. You can canoe, swim, camp, kids playground, dam, walking trail, picnic. All you need is in St Malo.
Good place for camping but not finishing
Great place to have fu with the family!
This park is so much fun! It is our go to place. Lots of trails to walk down, play structures, the beaches are nice, and the spillway is fun to explore.
nice place for family outing
We love this park!
Great day at the beach, with more to do than we had time for. The boat rental place was super friendly, and we enjoyed the snack bar and playgrounds. Not enough time for mini putt or hiking though!
Great place to camp, close to Winnipeg. Kept incredible clean. Very affordable rates, with very large and easily accessible camp sites.
Great camp ground. Lots of trees between sites. Couldn't see any od the site beside. Showers were hot and had a lot of pressure
Mosquitoes are brutal. GO back to spraying. The tree huggers choice over people who do not want to be eaten alive-not fair and equitable.
Great park, not too many people there. Lots of areas to swim and they also had life jackets for people. Good walking path and plenty of fresh air
Bathrooms near the open parking lot were locked up and had to walk a considerable distance to the unlocked bathroom. The available bathroom also didn't have running water. With small children this experience was poor.
Very nice place.
Beautiful campground and walking/biking trails. Beach is much nicer this year than it has been in previous years.
Best Provincial Park ❤️????????
Sweet
Quiet campground, great for families with all ages of children. Busy beach .
Love this place so much????
Close to the city for great camping experience. Nice beach.
Good experience
It's nice here there are some camp spots with no shade or very little but overall nice!
Too much peopes. Hard to keep social distance
Still a very nice place to camp with pull through and back in camp sites. They have a really cool ice cream stand in a (I believe) small railway car along with a chip stand with a good selection. I only wish there hadn't been a water advisory for swimming. Still can go swimming just need to shower off afterwards and not swallow any water. I hope this clears up by next year as I'd love to go back as they have some very nice walking trails (including part of the Trans Canada Trail as well as nice wide paths through the campsites so you can ride your bicycle
Love this place. Mosquitoes guite bothersome.
A very nice park, beach and campground. Well maintained. Lots of open spaces. More trees would be nice for shade. Easy access and close to Winnipeg. Always a nice time.
One of the very finest provincial parks! It is especially wonderful if you have a young family!
Love campground. Very roomy rv to park! My kid love going there!!
The group sites are big and clean
Very beautiful place
Awesome place! Except for the toilets.
It's beautiful we can't wait to go back! Bring a wagon it's a bit of a hike to the beach carrying all your stuff.
Because I love camping it has a perfect Beach
Lake is full of weeds
(Translated) A beautiful park for family and friends living close to this park. However, I enjoyed visiting the little church next door more than taking you for a walk in this park (Original) Un beau parc pour famille et amis vivant proche de ce parc. Cependant, j'ai plus aimé visiter la petit église à côté que te me promener dans ce parc
It's a very nice and large park
Was fun beautiful grounds the lake was good . Lots of space to camp
Beautiful beaches
Ofcourse it rained so it was a good ,short but enjoyable visit we had.
Nice place for camping!
A beautiful park... with massive mosquitoes. Wear your big spray and enjoy this gorgeous area.
The park is nice, but the bathrooms are awful.
Noisy campground. No restrictions on generator use, almost every site had them running all day long. Not a place to go for quiet relaxation.
One of our favorites. We camp on the east side where there's grass and as long as it's not too crowded we love it.
(Translated) Incredibly clean. Looks like American terrain. The display is perfectly bilingual. BRAVO, St-Malo !!! (Original) Incroyablement propre. Donne l’impression d’un terrain américain. L’affichage est parfaitement bilingue. BRAVO, St-Malo!!!
I gave it a four because they do not have full service (water sewer and electricity) at this park they only have electrical hookup and believe me it's a really big competition to get electrical spot.
Great place to camp with the family.
Family orientated best campground pet friendly will definitely come back year after year
This is the best outdoor place I have been in Manitoba. Why I couldn't rate it 5 stars it because there was an very little flies that keep bitting us all throughout our stay there.
We really like the campground here and use the beach/picnic area frequently. The washrooms (on the east beach) have been upgraded. The east beach has a smaller shoreline and has deeper water, so beware if you aren't a confident swimmer. The picnic areas adjacent to the two beaches are shaded with plenty of picnic tables. The lake and beaches are manmade and nicely done. The walking trails are also nice in wooded areas. I like this park... it has a lot of nature areas. Some of the campsites are completely surrounded by trees with little/no view of neighbours and some of the campsites are in an open area, adjacent to the lake (the open camping area is called Sunset Shores).
Great for the family.
great camping sites.
Always a great time at St. Malo Provincial Park. It's our favorite place to camp - close to the beach, hiking trails, and amenities like a grocery store just 5 minutes away in the town. Only an hour drive from South Winnipeg! Tubing is also a great activity just 20 minutes South on the Roseau river!
Mid week visit with no crowds.
I've been coming here since I was a child and I can see the improvements, there is always something to do when you camp here or if your having a group outing there is a spot for you too. Or visit the Red Truck and get yourself a tasty ice cream
Excellent place to camp with nice well maintained beaches. Camp sites are great with lots to keep families busy. Only a few short walking trails though, would prefer longer but they are perfect for young kids.
Very nice park but often shows lack of maintenance. Lake also overtaken by weeds by middle of summer. Otherwise, good place to bike or spend a weekend
crowded place! But amazing
Great place for family picnics. Could use some more challenging bike trails but either wise is a really great place to be.
It was a great experience. Nice environment. The kids had fun as much as we did too.
I have been here many times and always enjoyed it and had a great experience
Very nice and clean place. Lots of tables for picnics and changing room. Playground for kids. Specially the Ice-cream was great. The water is so clean. We had a great time there.
They have to renovate the restroom. They have to clean up a little more the Beach area.
Nice hiking trails, swimming and enjoyment
Kids love it
Good place for family fun. Quiet good too for personal meditation time.
Great camping experience
Its a beach and a lake and a triathalon once a year. Not much can go wrong here.
Lots of fun camping, hiking and swimming in the 37C temp.
Enjoyed kayaking the lake today... perfect weather for it:)
Very nice place for family outdoor.
We generally enjoy this park a lot and have for many years but a member of our camping family had a situation this weekend that ruined their weekend. The situation I feel could have been handled quite differently on the park staffs part, as the pair seemed to be having a bad start to their shift. We were all gathering for dinner on Saturday, on one site to share a meal together, enjoying each other's company, and spend an early evening together, like we have for many years at this park. While eating, we got a visit from 2 park staff asking for the person who was camped at a specific site, 3 sites over. They went with the officers to see what was going on. When they arrived at the site the park staff stated that their little dog could not be left alone in the camper ( the dog was not barking or fussing ) and they could be fined. The camper let them know that the officers on the previous shift had indicated it was okay to leave the dog there as long as the windows were open and had screens. It was not hot out and had plenty of breeze and this little dog is older and likes to sleep. After the camper shared this, the officers seemed to be irritated by the comment. They then proceeded to look around and indicated that they were going to issue a $300.00 fine for an unsupervised fire, which was 2 pieces smoldering in the fire pit with the grate closed over top. The camper indicated that they were unaware of that policy (the brochure did state no unsupervised fires, as we checked later ) and indicated that perhaps a warning was more in order and they would ensure to not leave any coals in the pit in the future. The officers proceeded to issue the ticket. I do not feel that public servants should have bad attitudes or look for reasons to teach lessons. They were both rude and could have handled this situation a lot differently. They need to ensure they are representing the parks in a helpful and friendly manner to resolve issues, not to immediately teach lessons in punitive ways, especially when there is 100% cooperation and acceptance of the ticket ( even though I would not have considered the pit to have a fire in it. It was contained and in the proper fire pit enclosed and safe ).
Its a park with a lake
There's no campsites out there like the ones here. They're big, they're private and spaces apart from your neighbour's.
Really nice wooded Park! Very clean and unbelievably good and friendly Barefoot Cafe by the beach with lunch, crepes, and icecream !!
Lots of things to do!
Kids have fun
Clear water and lots of camp sites, some good for tenting.
Good
Always clean, the trails are beautiful and the beach is nice.
Beautiful and so close to Winnipeg. We had lots of fun here.
It was great ????
Very good!!!!
The bays in the campground are very nice and private and nicely spaced
Awesome place to camp!
Great little spot close to the city. Trails to ride walk or ski, nice playfrounds for the kids
Great campground!
Every good fishing spot is fence off
I love St. Malo for camping. The two beaches are great for swimming and lounging! They have mini golf and sell hamburgers and ice cream. They campsites are spacious and private. Just be aware of the poison ivy.
Great place to spend a day and picnic.
Beach is a nice size but the swimmable water isn't. Good for young kids as there is many playsets around and the water is mostly shallow.
(Translated) Very good for camping. Good triathlon at the end of June. Lake has several algae. (Original) Très bien pour le camping. Bon triathlon à la fin juin. Lac a plusieurs algues.
Really nice park!
Peaceful, friendly, clean, safe, comfortable. I loved it.
Greenspace clear of trash. Grounds well kept. Nice place for an outing away from the 9 to 5 grind
Lovely place!
Small Manitoba gem
Nice to be outside again with vaccinated friends
Beautiful campground... perhaps too much bush. Low low rating because lake is full of E. coli .... they weren’t stopping people from going in. The warning posted was lacking accurate information.
Loved camping there. Could use more trees though.
Great! Had a lot of fun. Crowded around 5 to 7pm but after that it starts to reduce. A lot of children and families. Volley ball net, Swings, playing grounds, a canoe renting, have to purchase a parking ticket to enter. Lots of places to sit. GREAT beach. Not a lot of bins to recycle stuff tho.
Swimming area the water is so shallow
I had fun.
Nice beaches, good access to washrooms
Pretty nice place, probably the only provincial park with the best service as for food. The beach is pretty good, but the seaweed is to much. Nice though.
Love the Beaver
Amazing place to spend time with friends and family ????lovely
Water isn't the best but nice sand and services (food, washrooms, play structures)
Wish they'd bring in sand, very Rocky beach
Great campground, nice beaches. Only problem is filling with water. Taps to fill a camper are not easily accessible.
Lots of trees , not good water and terrible washrooms!
My wife and my kids and I all went to the beach for an afternoon and it was really enjoyable
Nice monument
Family setting friendly people
Fun family trip
Dirty water it's not a lake.
Nice park to relax and walk.
good spot near Winnipeg
Campground - Group site outhouse (washroom) - Could not be used due to the foul smell and the smell goes with the wind all the way to the picnic area, I hope they could do something about this. Otherwise it is a great site for camping.
Not the cleanest beach. Park area was reasonable. Lot of unmarked Poison Ivy.
Nice place for summer outing :)
Wished the water was clearer ... otherwise is a very nice & pleasant place to spend the day ..or even few hours.. Nike kayaking :)
Amazing place
Drove all the way this way with my dog..only to get there having signs permitting no dogs....PLEASE REMOVE YOUR DOG FREINDLY COMMENTS! AS IT IS NOT!!!!
Always love it there
Good for families with small children
The place is beautiful but so dirty
Absolutely love it here. Sites are private, many different parks for different ages of kids, tones of biking paths, city offer farmers market on Saturday which was nice. Would highly recommend if you have kids
Nice beach. And barbequeing pits
Very nice park. Had a nice stay and would go again.
Beautiful place to camp and the beach is very clean ☺
A jewel of a place you just want to talk and share with people but also want to keep to yourself .
Great place to take the family.
Great for family
Well treed-in campsites, cozy, excellent site sizes. Modern, well-maintained washrooms. Downside: Nearby pig farm air breezes through from time to time.
Amazing place
Good place for water sports. You can canoe kayak paddle board. Rental is also available. Camp side beach is easier to access if you have sports equipment than the dam side.
Nice place
To be honest, I rather other lakes near Winnipeg. Too crowded, dirty water...not worth the trip
Amazing experience. Going again soon!!!!
This is our new favorite provincial camp ground. I've heard over the years about it being family oriented, but to experience it is awesome. Its not that the site has anything overly special to accomplish this, but some how it's family.
Really good campgrounds that are well maintained. The lake has 2 beaches that are always busy on weekends. Great play structures for the kids to play on. You can rent water buggy's and canoes here for a reasonable rate. Change rooms are okay but the bathrooms are too small with not enough stalls. Lots of parking available or you can walk there. Great little ice cream shop that also has some standard hot food like hamburgers and Hotdogs. Have been going here for about 10 years and love it.
Love coming here. Close to wpg. Every campsite is walking distance to the beach The beach restaurant is great value. Their ice cream cones are HUGE Good quality, large portions and tasty burgers etc. The convenience store attached has reasonable prices for all camping necessities. Ie. propane tanks, fly swatters, mosquito spray, swimming accessories. Don't miss a visit to St malo provincial park. Stop in to town as well. The co-op has some unbelievable deals on hardware items.
Nice,clean park.
Great vacation place
ff
Nice park, decent beach lots of amenities (washrooms are a bit rough).
Very nice, clean and peaceful place to be on the weekend with family.
Nice well kept park.
I generally like St. Malo but this year firepit wasnt cleaned (and we arrived a day late) and washrooms have not been cleaned since we arrived. It is end of season but... also washrooms/showers are dated compared to other parks now.
A long drive from the north but it's worth. Beautiful place to relax with family and friends.
Beachy
Too many long weeds in the water. Could be dangerous if u get caught up in them. Otherwise nice place.
Great family camping. Nice big well treed camp sites, good family swimming and great value at $17 for electrical sites
Excellent Campground
The park was still closed for off-season but it was nice to visit. We walked the interpretive trails and through the campground and saw very few people. The reservoir was still iced in but will be melting soon. After Victoria Day it will be packed every weekend.
Beautiful park, very clean
Beautiful
I would not recommend this camp ground to anyone. There is absolutely no privacy, it feels like you're camping in a back yard with tents right beside each other. You're not in the bush at all, beaches are very small and site staff is rude. try hecla, grand beach, or tulabi falls! :) I would rather pop a tent in my backyard than camp at st malo.
(Translated) Beautiful natural place, with all the necessary services to spend the day for only 5 Canadian dollars. You can grill and bathe in the lake, ride a bike or walk, the consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited. Beautiful site ..! Hermoso sitio..!
Nice beach. Well kept
Private camping spaces, lots of trees. Well maintained beach as well.
Very nice park, trails are not well lit but there is lighting around main buildings, phones and trash. Bathrooms are kept stocked and are pretty clean. The beach, play areas and parking lots are clean and all amenities are clearly marked on the maps. Only problems are the roads are very rough in places and the water quality, though drinkable, is very poor. The water has a smell to it and a rusty coloring. Showers are pay showers, and take a while to engage (put your dollar in and wait atleast 3-5 minutes). Some spots are a very long walk from the water, I would recommend bringing a bike or a vehicle that can be detached easily to access the beach.
My experience over here was really awesome. It is a really good place to have a fun day or even days if you wish on camping. The only complain I have is that they could've had more better maps for navigation. The map they give you is very confusing and if you wish to navigate through it, or understand it, might be difficult for the first time for people that have never seen maps.
Many a lovely day
Nice semi private lots. The Rangers are awesome. Very easy to deal with. The beaches are within walking distance. No complaints.
The park looks fantastic we booked 3 days there
Campground is wonderful to place your tents, play and relax. Portable washrooms are not frequently cleaned and they become unusable after a 16hrs in a crowded day, so you need to go to a farther washrooms (1km) which are way more better. The lake looks dirty at the shore, but water temperature is fantastic, so seems perfect for paddling.
So much to do, kids can't wait to go back!
Nice little park, beach and lake. Even with the wind, the water was calm enough for a short kayak trip, so highly recommend it for a weekend practice. Perhaps a bit of improvement would be needed next year, to clear from seaweed near the beach. Also, washrooms were closed, which is odd as it's a provincial park which you pay to visit
Always fun for the family, campground well maintained and nice facilities
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Management is the opposite and doesn't know what they are talking about. We have been there many times and sites they say will handle certain size campers will not. It is obvious when you see damaged trees and shrubs knocked down because people are trying to get into sites that are over size rated.
Beautiful and peaceful, enjoyed every minute.
For a quick getaway to camp and lake go to St. Malo. Lake is clean. Shower runs approx 5mins for a $1
Relaxing and very peaceful. Beautiful place.
Wonderful place to camp
Lived in the area for over 4 years. Had to move away to come camping. Great place to bring the family!
Well appointed for a mid week camping get away
It was a long stay this year as the beach had e.coli. There wasn't much to do. We avoided going to the beach so the kids weren't tempted to go in! Other then that, it was a good time.
Excellent camp.
Amazing place for picnic and camping also, good for family get away
Nice park with lots of options for kids. The area by the beach has lots of shade trees and space to picnic. Some easy forest trails and a great campground. Only downside is that some of the older bathrooms are in desperate need of updating, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.
Beautiful treed sites for camping.
St. Malo provincial park has excellent trails for walking, cycling.
Great place to go cool off????
Go on a weekday. Beautiful, serene, peaceful. Camp grounds, ice cream, washrooms and sheds with grills
We loved it there. We should have booked a longer period of time. We will be back!
This is a great campground only 45 minutes south of Winnipeg. They have pretty typical sites though many of the waterfront ones aren't very well treed. There's a main beach and a smaller "sunset" one which give plenty of options for beach fun. No need to go any further unless you need the real "backwoods" experience.
Very nice park! n campground so close to home
I don't even know what to say, the beach is awesome.. just go here ????
We had a very good time camping here every time we have come! The beach is nice for having kids and dogs. The lots are very spacious we were able to fit a camper, large tent and a small tent with tons of room for the 13 of us to still play and have fun! We always have 2 sites but spend the most time at one! It was nice to have showers by the beach and free life jackets for the children. Only downfall but I can't rate them for it as it's outdoors people is watch out for the poison ivy! It is everywhere!! Someone always comes home with it!
Very good place
Very nice park to camp! The water and beaches were nice and clean.
Nice park close to the city, there is two beaches to go to which is nice. Water is very clear and water gets deeper gradually on the main Beach and drops offs more quickly on the second beach. Nice place!
Beautiful love the place
Park patrol cleared us for an unusual arrangement of our campers then reversed their decision and illegally threatened us with arrest beyond their authority. We are filing complaints with the appropriate authorities.
Love camping here! Beach and play ground are nice! And there are lots of hiking trails.
Beautiful campsites,quiet,near bathroom/showers... definitely recommend
Nice for young kids. Love dropping by for a quick kayak or weekend camping
Very beautiful, peaceful and cozy place with family. Lots of slides for younger kids, trails and biking trails.
Is there no food stand or restaurant
Great place with a great beach. Lots to do!
Water is brown?????? But clear. Some green mossy substance in the water. Great for kayaking and canoeing plus boats are available for rent. Safe. Family friendly.
Fantastic campground for families. Very quiet, nice beach.
People can scream and shout even it's 2:30 am. Nice on daytime but stressful and unsafe for overnight. No one is around to maintain and implement rules during nighttime.."No Rules " its good to host for a overnight drinking party like our neighbor..Office doesn't care at all...Thanks for getting us sick..Went home tired, exhausted and disappointing..We can't stay for our one more night..Scary ...Better to be safe.....
St. Malo is always a good time for both camping and going to the beach. The water seemed to have more weeds in it this year compare to other years. Still a great place to go close to the city.
Reasons
Its chill
We enjoyed the private campsite and beaches. The washroom facilities needs some cleaning and upgrades. Our campsite had broken dishes near the bushes. In general it was good.
This is a nice Park. The camping area was clean and spots were maintained. Facilities were always clean.
Ok beach. Family oriented.
Beautiful place for family, camping is great, part police a little snotty
It is a good place. Nice beach
Was okay for kids. Water had weeds tangling while swimming.
Nice
Very pretty campgrounds!
Love this park. I have only been here a couple of times camping with some friends and it's just awesome. It has a beach and a concession stand near by, and the campsite we went to is pretty private.
Bathrooms were atrocious. Showers were even worse. Garbage and recycling were all overflowing. First time there and very doubtful we will go back. Even the beaches were very small for the amount of people. But the office staff were very helpful and friendly.
I'm going there can't wait!????
Great campground. Great beach. Perfect family vacay spot.
Awesome place .I love St. Malo Gruto
Nice place to enjoy nature with the family.
Awesome please to be at
Clean grounds water is a little seaweedy but nice for day trip.
Had a great day at st Malo on saturday.enjoying the weather and did some reading took break and got an ice cream cone. A lovely afternoon
Great campground. Very kid friendly.
Such a nice little man made watering hole, lots of play structures, mini golf and food stations too.
I had a beautiful experience with my family.
Awesome place
Camped from August 23rd to August 25th 2020. Facilities were very unclean. Our campsite was not cleaned before we arrived. The bathrooms were very messy (toilets in both women's and men's washrooms were clogged for close to 24 hours). Had expected heightened cleaning during covid but found this was not the case. Other years have been much better.
Really enjoyed this clean and beautiful park. Kids had fun. I was in bay 10 and there is no water around the bay. Closest tap was at the bathrooms at the entrance/exit to the bay.
Very nice park
Great place to unwind near Winnipeg
Windy
Always a wonderful spot to go camping. Lots of room to walk or ride your bike along with two beaches. Only electric motors allowed on the water so it is quite peaceful. Every Saturday there is a farmer's market in town.
Beautiful and clean
Lots of space on the beach to sit, and even keep your physical distancing.
Most Beautiful park around!
Nice camp ground
Quiet. Peaceful.
Great place
Clean beach. LOTS of great play structures for my kids to play on. Ice cream store in the way out. There is a concession stand. They have good stuff. For a great dat trip to the beach, 45 mi. Fron Winnipeg. Can be beat. Only bad thing is, the water has lots of seaweed past the swim markers.
Seriously people..update your park information to show current campsites. It is going on 2 years and you still do not have the new campsite numbers and bays to match the online provincial booking sites for Sunset Shores.
It's a great park for chill out, get some sun, and enjoy some watersports.
Always too crowded. For a campground that you need to reserve 2 months in advance just to get an electrical site, you would expect a better run campground. No place to put your garbage and since when are the showers coin operated? Very disappointing!
Waters warm, theres 3 different beaches all with playground equipment, you can also get burgers, hotdogs, ice cream etc. Lots of shaded picnic table spots too
Quiet and beautiful
Great place
Great place for the family. Swimming, food, camping, and some light fishing.
What a gem of a park. We really enjoyed the park
Nice campground relatively close to the city.
Very nice and beatufil place, it's also quite.
Nice Campground very close to Winnipeg close all amenities staff very friendly, showers and wash rooms very clean. All around a very a good experience.
Love it
Great Park close to Winnipeg. Good campsites, secluded to open. Beach is nice, no power boats in Lake. Only open until September long weekend, wish it was longer.
Nice beach, clear warm brown water(mineral content not mud). The main beach washrooms were less than stellar. What is it with the provincial park bathrooms that aren't child friendly. Let's have the sinks too high to see over and make the toilet seats big enough the potty seat nearly falls through.
Nice place to go paddle boating with not so cold water!
Good place .. water is a bit dirty but overall it's a nice place
always a great experience coming here one of my favourite spot to bring my family
Close to the city .
It was a good quick away camping spot, but our timing was wrong, i do not know if they have 24 hours phone line for complaint but some campers are playing music way too loud past 11 pm and provincial parks has a rule of no noise between 11 pm to 9 am, no one is stopping them, trying to call every phone line i can look up to complain but none would answer. They should patrol the campsite even late nights or past 11 pm to make sure no one is breaking the rules. I had hopes for this place to be peaceful but it turns out its the other way around, too much noise!!!
Nice park and campground.
Close to city fishing can be better, the new shower could be big and water was too hot it would be nice to set it yourself, town is close to get stuff
Love this place you can see the playground and the water at the same time
St malo park/beach is not too far south of winnipeg and is a nice calm town with nice people. The park looks great and is full of trails and walking paths. The beach it self is a nice little beach the water is on the dirty side but at least not filled with that horrible blue green algae. Can get over crowded for sure but during the week its alot more quiet and calm but thats to be expected. The camp ground is decent,The sites are all ok but the bathrooms are another story. Frequently there dirty and trashed.Left untended long periods or just not doing a good job when they are cleaned.
The campground washrooms were disgusting. I wish that people who cannot control their dog's barking would just stay home.
Worth the trip. Renting a pontoon boat for a day here was a great way to enjoy the lake. So good.
Great beach best areas for camping friendly staff
Very nice place for family picnic
Beautiful beach. $9.50 parking pass for the day. Washrooms are clean. Volleyball court just off the beach area. Large trees to sit under in the shade. Many tables and benches available for a nice picnic. Water is really nice and refreshing. A short hike through a path/trail and you can buy ice cream!
Nice camping. But need more water taps.. partying needs to 3 am needs to be shut down. Staff needs to check more often
Fun fun fun
The water of the lake was brown and there were a lot of seaweed even weist deep. Also, atleast when I was there , it was way too crowded to enjoy myself
Love this place!!!
Definitely the definition of "white" people camping. I wouldn't even call this camping. There is zero privacy. Practically a cow pasture with a couple trees. If you enjoy having children crying at 2 am into 6 am and people who don't know how to not put their vehicles into panic mode this is the place for you. Ontop of that they run their showers like car wash. Make sure you bring loonies to fill the meter if you want to shower. Horrible experience especially for what you pay a night to stay.
Bathroom is really dirty
Beach is always good. Fun play structures for the kids. Some of the older washrooms in the campgrounds could use some updating. Campsites are wl kept
Simply put: it exceeded my expectations. Water, sand, grass and playgrounds all on one place. What else could we want?
Great place to camp with a group of friends
Great Weekend, have not been here in 40+ years. Great little guy family campground
One of the nicest beaches in Manitoba
August 2021 Water quality issues. Love this beach with greenspace, trees, picnic shelters and plenty of beach space. They rent paddleboats there and have concession stands. Lots of parking.
Nice and clean very organized
always a good time
Perfect place to camp, great beach, awesome walking and bike paths!
I love camping here with my family but I was disappointed with the lack of increased sanitizing practices here this weekend. This was indicated in an email before we arrived. But the bathrooms were dirty and not cleaned each day.

I usually love St. Malo Beach. But this last time we went there were weeds everywhere. It's usually a very clean beach and the weeds are usually all removed. Otherwise it is a lovely place to camp
nice place very big camping spots
Great park to go for camping!
fitting atmosphere
We had a beautiful time this weekend. Clean and friendly.
Beautiful park and beach, lots of space, very clean
Fun family park
Beach, playgrounds, hiking and biking trails, campground and more things to have fun.
a nice close to nature park with lots of play structure for the kids
Beautiful place!!
Clean beaches, both camping and day parking, pet friendly, food vendor sells real Montreal cheese curd poutine as well as ice cream trolly with wide selection available, miniature golf, boat rentals available and walking and cycling trails...had a blast!
Several playground structures to choose from that the kids really enjoyed. Some picnic shelters with wood burning bbq pits. Very few people around on mother's day.
Very clean ans people are respectful of your space
The reception at the park office was terrible, water locations poorly marked and the smell of Pig maniure over welmeing.
Great place for camping and going to the beach
Was going to go camping with my two friends just friends nothing else and made a reservation only to be told we couldn’t be allowed because it’s only for family wow and we were going to go in two days wow
Will be going back. Great place
Great beach with beautiful sand awesome place to take the family for a good time!
Red River Valley School Division hosted their cross country run in the park, it was beautiful!
For a provincial park this was simply amazing, for our 2 day stay we couldn't ask for more... will definitely back.❣❣❣❣
Its clean and they have open facilities which is nice, the beachs are clean too and they have changing rooms as well. You can choose between private sites or more open ones and you can purchase wood from a vendor and the co op is just outside of the camp grounds.
Close to nature. Loved it nice park
Dog friendly beach should mean that dogs are allowed on the beach DOGSare not allowed on the beach
Nice beach
Very nice and clean place to be and meet very nice people
Park patrol where ridiculous, make it hard to enjoy a night around campfire.
Very good
Good place for summer hang out. Family friendly.
Just skied all the cross country trails this morning it was a great experience❤ Thank you for maintaining the trails so beautifully ????
Quiet and relaxing
Awesome Beach for a family fun day
Just spent a week there i usually love the campground but this time the facilities were filthy. The washrooms and showers were never cleaned for the first 5days I was there. When I called the office to complain all they said was that they were on days off. I was extremely disappointed. You would think that because of covid19 they would clean a little more often but no . Very disappointed with this park staff.
Great place to spend your day off with your family. Forest, trails, lakes. All you need. Highly recommended.
Nice community style camping experience without driving for hours. The beach on the campground side could use some love, as well as the outhouses in the campground. Other than that, always a good time!
Good time there
Lovely park to spend a picnic day.
Really clean park, lots to see and do! Great for kayaking and canoeing
Convenient location, not too far from where I live. Kept clean.
Nice beach
Great place to spend a hot day! Kids love the lake And play structures to!
Nice beach
Great place to relax and everything is close by if you forget something!! Great biking trails!!
Lots of trees
Nice provincial park ,very clean with small lake to enjoy it
Fantastic place to go and just let the mullet be free.
The sites we stayed at were VERY open (Section A-E - some lots had no trees separating sites at all-no privacy. Loud sites around us, some partying, one arguing with lots of swearing - Park staff did nothing - this loudness went on until 4 a.m. Conservation officers walk around once in the evening and are never seen again. Two loud, swearing kids at the beach - parents nowhere around. The good - sites were clean, the grotto is a good place to visit for a short while. Cheaper wood for $5 at the coop on your way into the park. Beach is okay -they provide life jackets.
Excellent family experience. Great campground, clean with regular patrols to keep things in check. Firewood truck comes around once a day so you don't have to go pick up the wood. Two beaches supplied with life jackets you can use for free. Water is very clear. Paddle boards, boats, and canoes are available for rent. No gas engines are allowed on the lake. Campground showers are coin operated but we found them to have the temperature set way too hot. Town shopping is 5 minutes away.
Park ranger are drunk with power
Great for families with younger kids.
Good 0lace, good fun.
There are not really any bad campsites. I have plenty of fond memories camping here in my childhood. Not much has changed since that time. A new office, a new dump station, a couple of updated play structures, etc. I really like getting ice cream from the ice cream bus. My boy and I also had a lot of fun biking on the cross-country skiing trails. The beach is not my favourite part, just due to it being river water. Overall, St. Malo is a solid go-to for camping.
Beautiful place and rules enforced by the park patrol
Fantastic place to camp: gorgeous sites, beaches and trails. Services are close by and top notch. Stay to the trails and sites though, and keep pets out of the bushes as the poison ivy is rampant.
Love it, big bay's, nice and big camp side, and you need a bike
Great place. Enjoyed the day
Love camping here
Good ????????????????
Great week long getaway
Great facilities clean and well maintained. One of the better parks in Manitoba. Great staff.
Such a beautiful little place
Nice place to visit
A cute, calm and serene place... love it... however, the bathrooms definitely need some help.
Great camping and great beach! Prefect for families.
Very nice gem with walking trails, beach, quite private campsites.
Love it great for jogging:)
Nice park, i just wished it has a modern washroom
Camping and swimming. Although no power boats.
best place for a picnic day
It's very good before snow is coming... But snowmobile's and ATV's destroy the trails. It's Not a Problem for them ging from parkinglot to the ice on the Lake, but Not permitted in the Park!!!
Good variety of camping spaces, wooded & open trails & swimming beaches.
Nice Provincial Park. Clean and beautiful!
Nice park, really good for a long walk with the dog. Trails are well maintained and when it dries up a bit more it would be even better
St. Malo is a lovely provincial park near the city and perfect for gatherings of family and friends. Sadly it is showing serious signs of neglect. The lake is full of algae and seaweed. The benches are splintered and worn. The foot bridges are dangerous. Please put a few dollars to improve and maintain this park!
