REVIEWS OF La Barriere Park IN Manitoba

Snowshoeing was terrific lots of snow and beautiful scenery. Wish walkers would make their own trails instead of trodding on snowshoe an ski trails!! Those post holes you make ruin our hard work.

Garry Bhullar

Nice park for outdoor fun, picnics, walks and other activities. Not much crowded too.

Kayti Taylor

I loved this walk. My only issue is that there are spots that are very mucky and slippery or huge puddles and that could be taken care of by the city like other parks. It's a nice afternoon.

Michelle Marykuca

Beautiful park, grassy areas, walking trails, picnic benches and fire pits, modern washrooms, close to the city yet very quiet! Under some construction but very usable during.

Michael Veroukis

It's a park with a lot of space but few picnic tables. Probably best to bring your own device and chairs. Some nice trails to walk or bike on. The La Salle river runs through it and people like to fish or kayak on it. It's very scenic.

Sunil Shrivastava

Calm and peaceful place with a river nearby for fishing. Amazing cricketing facilities with two proper pitches. Manitoba cricket association looks after this ground. It’s a wonderful place for a picnic and barbecue.

Nice little greenspace just on the fringe of the city. Disc golf course was very popular, hiking trail is scenic and not busy which was lovely (it was wet and portions were still covered in snow) . Picnic tables and fire pits are available, and there are clean public washrooms.

bibban Mehendiratta

What a beautiful walk, more so in fall, the bridge, the canoes and the picnic spots all make it a perfect blend. Did see a few fall photographers busy making memories fir families

Stacey Speers

Lovely place to paddle up La salle river. Ut was a bit too shallow to paddle by the monastery, but toward the golf course was beautiful. We saw a couple muskrats, 3 different kind of ducks and plenty of finches and birds we didn't recognize. The sounds they all make together are beautiful.

isuru dharmasena

A big open park with bbq pits. Very calming and nice surroundings. Summerhuts can be pre-booked. Many activities to be done in the small stream.

Pamela Vodrazka

Good place for a paddle if you're looking to stay close to the city. It's a narrow river shaded from the wind by trees. The water isn't the cleanest and you can't swim but it's calm with tons of nature sounds.

Nice little park just outside the city. It is a nice place for small group or family gathering. Had nice washroom. But had only 2 shade. You have to be lucky to find a shaded spot during the weekend. I specially love the small wooden bridge on the creek.

Tony K. Noubahar

Beautiful Park. great for a picnic or even just a stroll through.. theres a couple of trails and paths in the forest area too for you to hike/walk through. very peaceful and quiet

Jeff

Great park. Very big, but be aware that frisbee golf takes up a lot of the space and to avoid those areas

Jason Skinner

Park is really nice. Lots of spots for fishing along the banks. Lots of people paddling along the river in canoes and kayaks. They have disc golf course along the trails, which are nicely maintained, but the mixture of flying disc's and people walking is troublesome. The washrooms are nice and new, tons of parking and garbage cans.

Narinder Singh

River, park and trails everything awesome. Big parking alot and clean washrooms.

Johnathon Morrow

Beautiful place. Nice hike.

Josh MacKinnon

Nice park with firepits and picnic benches. The parking lots are big, which is an added benefit.

Roy Mulchand

Very close to WInnipeg, nice slow moving river and plenty of fire pits and picnic tables. it wasnt very crowded when we went although it was the long weekend. They have disc golf there and a lot of people were doing that!

George Kent

Clean, well maintained, spacious, good opportunities for photography, lots of space for family events. All around great place south of Winnipeg/St. Norbert. La Salle River runs through the park with a newly built rock dam/flow-through going under Waverley street, plus a red foot bridge over the river at the west side.

Pablo Listingart

Beautiful park. There are trails all over the woods and overall it is a very relaxing place

isuruse

Great space and trails along the river. Thick Forrest within close reach to city. Park available if you want to play a game of soccer or cricket. Places for BBQ as well..

Lightningbolt008

Great place to enjoy the out doors. Lots of room in the field for family activaties. Beautiful hiking trails over the bridge across the river. I personally enjoy flying my radio control air planes there.

Dave

Great park for disk golf, regular golf or kayaking. They also have a few decent bike trails, worth the drive????????

Amanda Matthews

La Barriere Park is a winter wonderland! Beautiful park South of the city down Waverley into the RM of Ritchot. Having gone in January we witnessed people dog walking, hiking, sledding, cross country skiing, learning to snowboard and ski, playing disc golf, snowmobiling, skating and ice fishing. Areas on the river for skating were cleared and paths for cross country skiing were well groomed in most places on the river. Such a beautiful place to enjoy winter in Manitoba. Be prepared to walk a fair distance if you park on the road on a busy day and dress accordingly.

Abigail Kearley

Beautiful park for bonfires, kayaking, and hiking. The trails are well kept and beautiful for a leisurely hike. There is also opportunity to explore less frequently traveled paths to get off the beaten path.

James Klaassen

I went to La Berrierr Park on a warm overcast day. The park now has a disc golf course which is a new addition since my last visit. There are great trails to explore here!

Benjamin Sohrab Maranan

You play disc golf ! Do a little bit of hiking ..you do fishing and kayaking too! Good spot a day picnic and summer activities!

Ccedawg

I absolutely adore this park. But because people continue to let their dogs off leash, I can't walk my anxious little dog there any more. These lack of three stars is on those people.

Paul Tyminski

A well maintained park with walking trails, frisbee golf course, fire pits, and washroom facilities. The La Salle river is partially dammed here, so the stretch along the park is wider and deeper and very nice for kayaking or canoeing. I've seen a lot of people fishing here as well, but have not tried it my self. I have seen big carp in the water though.

Scott Devine

Lots of really beautiful trails to wander. Tons of other outdoor activities such as baseball diamonds, soccer fields, Disc Golf, Canoeing and Kayaking from the newer boat launch.

Juliya Rezvukhina

Very peaceful and quiet park very close to the city. The river should be ideal for canoeing.

Albert Kandie

Very scenic park hidden from traffic and hustle and bustle of the city. The bridge nearby is beautiful!

Ted and Esther

We spent 2 hours kayaking on the LaSalle River. It's one of the best places to kayak around Winnipeg when the water level is low.

郑凌鹏

The park is very close to home, where you can hike, throw flying saucers, have picnics, fish and boat in the river.

Elle DG

Rented kayaks from @typeehbikes on Instagram so that we could see more of the park and do some exploring. They got dropped off and picked up and it just made seeing the park from the river so beautiful! Tons of wildlife and birds. It was awesome!

L P

Beautiful park to go for a walk and have a picnic. The trails are maintained and the trees provide shade on a hot day! There are bathrooms but the water doesn't always work. Bring alcohol wipes just in case.

Andrew Manness

Great little place to get away from the crowds, you can fish from the banks and there's a nice spot to put your kayak or canoe in.

Sameer Ahmed

Lovely trail, nice view from the bridge, along the river good place for fishing. Good place for kayaking as well.

Benjamin

Lovely parking. Few kilometers of walking trails sheltered from the wind. More on the river including groomed cross country trails. Watch out for the snow mobiles!
