It's a grandiosely beautiful beach, very well position for family picnic and relaxation

I've spent half my life here. Nowhere else will you find such a lovely beach and community. Check out the white sand beach, the dunes, hiking and walking trails, shops or just lay in the park. There is plenty of space for everyone and if the beach is crowded, there's miles of it, just head a little father down.

Kerry Hogan

Cool place with soft fine sand. Sand dunes that seem out of place. Beaches for miles and it's almost like an ocean tide. You can walk for ever before the water gets deep.

Carson G

absolutely amazing beach. the sand will make you think you are in florida and the water is warm as well. definitely would recommend to anyone

Huge beach. Beautiful. Feels like the ocean without the salty air. Kids love exploring in the beach dunes. BUT ... The lake has occasional algea blooms that make the water and beach gross. Check the website if you are heading there in August.

Nice beach, nice business around to buy delicious food, clean. The staff is great because they care. They care about the safety of the ppl that visit the beach, which makes it very family orientated.

I love this place. The beaches are clean and the water is perfect. There's always something to do here. Ancient Beach trail, or Spirit Rock trail. There's a bunch of little shops on the west beach. As well as a new concession called Greys. He uses to own the sandbar when you enter Grand Marais, but has now dedicated to the concessions. The food is wonderful there! Also they serve breakfast! So you can sit on the beach and have a yummy wrap or sandwich. They also have picnic tables on the boardwalk. There are a few playgrounds the kids can play at too. In the winter, the park has some wonderful trails so bring your Snowmobile on. The trails are usually well groomed, and properly marked. Many shacks can be found on the way (donated or kept up by other avid snowmobiling community in the area)

Five out of five! Beautiful white sand beach and amazing water :)

No pets are allowed. This year was terrible for algae. The water was so nasty I did not want to step a foot in there. However the beach is very nice and clean. Just not worth driving down an hour and a half to sit on a beach and not be able to swim.

Beautiful place. Water was amazing

Jon Dyck

This is an amazing park. The beach is one of a kind. You can walk out into the water for a long way. The campground is well kept and provides lots of privacy from neighboring campers.

robpaprox

Beautiful, well kept beach and park! Highly recommended!

Nice place to go. White Sands and sand dunes. Lots of people. Would definitely recommend this over other beaches.

Grand beach is grand as per its name, long Beach line with least depth till about 50M of walk. You can see people standing in water far away from the beach. One of the best sand around and always the best ice cream. Alot of parking and place to put your tent on.... Follow the warnings and signs and stay safe...

canmoro

One of the seven wonders of Manitoba with its white sand. Very family friendly!

Don

If you're visiting Manitoba, this is one of the top spots to visit. It is one of the best beaches around the world. Water is pretty shallow with some sand bars. West beach for your typical beach experience, with lots 1-2 close to concessions and busiest part of beach. Lot 5 is the quietest part. East beach is where you'll find the campground.

Amazing, sandy beaches with scenic views. Fantastic surrounding area and campsites coupled with a variety of delicious restaurants. Grand Beach indeed.

harkirat kaur

It is our go-to spot, not very far from the city and you can stop at several places in your way. The drive from city to Grand Beach is beautiful too! Even though many people go here the shore is quite big so you don’t feel very crowded. You can book a cabin and stay overnight or a few days. And if you forget to bring anything(especially for you bbq), there is a store very close to the provincial park.

World class beach! The sand is very fine and comfortable to walk on. The beach has a very gentle grade, even small children can safely walk into the water quite a distance. Very popular, always busy, but plenty of room for everyone. The province could do more to market this gem.

All the way to Grand Beach the water seems hidden from view. You park your car and still the dunes are high enough that you can't see the water. That moment of walking up through the dunes and seeing the spectacular view is pretty amazing. I'm a lake swimmer because I find ocean water a little murky and gross. This lake had clear warm water when I went in mid August. I can't wait to come back next summer and enjoy the amazing sand and water. I'd come here any day for rest and relaxation.

Danilo “Dan” Banga

A great place to watch the sunset and chill on the sand. The beach is clean, easily accessible and has shops and public toilets. There are picnic tables available.

Elizabeth LeBlanc

As someone from the East Coast, it was the biggest lake beach I've ever seen it was really nice and cool to see ice on such a large body of water, was disappointed that the bathrooms were boarded up.

Eliane Zhu

The beach is beautiful! Fluffy and thin sand followed by clear water. There are many hiking routes and places to barbecue or have picnic. …

David Feschuk

Great beach experience that has not changed in years. So close to Winnipeg for a quick wonderful getaway.

Dean Schliek

This place is awesome! Best campground I’ve been to in a long long time! 350+ sites and they are all decently private! We drive from Central Minnesota to stay here. The beach is like none other! Highly recommended for family camping

Jim & Tara Mathew

The beach is so huge and beautiful with soft, white sand like Florida. Unfortunately there was a lot of algae this year, but everywhere seems to be having that problem. It didn't stop us from enjoying the beach and swimming. The water was …

Dan Krumholz

Love the sand and the boardwalk. Plenty of activities to do

Hugo P

This park has a great view and it's a beautiful place

Adam Searles

Had a blast at the beach. Perfect weather when I went.

Tejaswini Nayak

One of the best provincial parks for a nice beach picnic. We love the picturesque views, the enthusiastic gulls, and the park nearby. This place is our toddler's favorite as well.

Allan Hall

Camped here for August long weekend with the family! Very much enjoyed out stay! Saturday was fairly windy, which made for a fun day of playing in the waves. Sunday was a calm day, the algea in the water was quite noticeable, but didn't …

recently camped there this past weekend, its a beautiful beach and a beautiful campground. but id like to make a comment about a couple things. 1. the washrooms, i wish they would have more around 2. the walk to the actual beach. it was a 20 minute walk to the beach from our campsite. i understand this isn't that far but it would've been nice if it was closer. just a personal opinion, would possibly camp here again

Kristine

What a fun day for the kids! Great sand and nice water. It doesn't get too deep which is nice for the little ones. They have great lifeguard patrols as well.

Corey S

White sand, 5ft waves, very nice beach as far as any Canadian standard.

David

Nowhere in Canada are you going to find a beach as beautiful as grand beach from easy parking lots not far away from beach to the smooth powdery sand on the shore and under the water and with the pelicans flying overhead it's a delight also The neat sandbars are fun Pretty safe beach to take children the water is great andit takes a long way to get to chest level you can make great sand castles

Lang Wong

For Manitoba, it is a really nice beach. The white sand is so nice on your feet. Good sand fir building sand castles and sculptures. Very clean and well maintained beach. Wide beach to lay out your blankets with some privacy. The view is very good too ... looking out on the big Lake Winnipeg. They have a nice boardwalk area at West beach with drink and food and beach stuff. The water is not too dirty. They have water safety staff on the beach. There is plenty of parking and other amenities available in the area. They have washrooms and change areas plus shower areas. Well worth the short drive from Winnipeg.

Amanda Matthews

Grand Beach is the closest you will get to an ocean experience in the middle of the continent. The sand is beautifully white, and the lake is so large you forget you are inland at all. Concessions were great, with good variety, and the boardwalk is newer and kept very tidy. Would have liked options to rent things such as boogie boards. Have not explored other areas of the park at this time.

Laurel Curry

Walked far to get deep water. Great water, clear and algae free. Zebra muscle broken shells made it hard to walk barefooted. People social distancing. Washrooms so clean. Bring on the next weekend for more fun.

Nancy Lecocq

I haven't been there for a few years. The water quality seemed ok. It was kind of a windy cool day. The food stand was ok. I got a cheese dog. The bun was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted. My friends enjoyed their burgers though. I will return.

My partner, Myself & my Son went to camp @ Grand Beach Campground Aug long wknd 2020. The 1st nite we were there we were sitting around our campfire listening quietly to a ghost story on my phone. We were not talking @ all, & not consuming alcohol. We were so quiet actually that we didn’t notice the park rangers approaching until they were right behind in the dark & started telling us to “shut it down” they scared me half to death & were unbelievably rude telling us to go to bed. I then said my partner is 50 & I am 47 so we didn’t need them to tell us when to go to bed. My partner asked them if anyone had complained & they said no & no one better complain b/c we didn’t want them coming back in the morning to deal w/ us. I asked if they were threatening us & they replied back “just go to bed” They drove around our camp bay every night all nite for the 3 nites we stayed & since no one can operate a motor vehicle in the campground fr 11pm-7am it was extremely disruptive. We also had to pay over $100 for firewood while we were there & we have never had to spend that much @ any other campground it was awful & we felt like we were “under surveillance” for the rest of the wknd. The beach is beautiful but as far as the campground we will never be back due to our experience & will never recommend it to anyone.

What a great place,, camp prices are great, very clean and the staff are brilliant.. Book in advance because its always busy on weekends..

Alex Stewart

Camping here is not enjoying or relaxing at all. The past 2 nights that I’ve been here park rangers have approached our site in an abrupt and demanding manner. As a group of friends we were very uncomfortable. We paid money to camp here and we felt like we were babysat. If you are looking for a campsite do not come here - there are many other campgrounds in Manitoba that are equally as good, without the constant worry of having to follow the excessive rules set out. You can’t enjoy yourself past 11pm and the park rangers are extremely rude. Even with all rules followed and compliant responses they continue to harass with the intention of upsetting campers. The rangers will even look into your vehicle with their flashlights. They are park rangers not police. Will not be going back and letting all friends and family to never camp here again.

Mohamed RIDHA

It was perfect , warm water , very large beach ,Covid measures respected as well

Michael M

The sand here is amazing! So much of it. The dunes are fun to explore. The water is super shallow and our toddler loved running through it.

Nick Pizza

Very nice park with beautiful campgrounds and plenty of parking. Stay on trails of you don't want swarms of bugs. The beaches are long, and well, Grand. Staff are courteous and so are the locals. Nice for a day trip for sure with the kids. Will be back!

Deanna

Haven't been here for years, had moved away... just made it back here this summer. Smoky skies but as beautiful as ever. We came later in the day and it was actually awesome because so many people were gone, we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

Tom Searles

Good time, water was farther than last time we were there and water colder lol Light breeze helped with the warmer after noon. Lot a people having fun

kayla

Best sand in the province. Lots of space even on a busy day.

Parvez Fattah

Excellent beach with white sand. You do need to pay $9 per day to enter and enjoy the grounds. Water is not deep at all for a long distance from the edge of the water. Not the place to go for a swim though. Can take long walks in the ground. Lots of parking available

Sue Bouchard

Always a nice time. Beautiful clean beach.

John Martin

Best sand in Winnipeg area, beach is well kept with very courtesy and exceptional polite employees. Overall the beach is a must see.

Souradeep Saha

With magnificent landscapes and alluring view, Grand Beach is one of the best place you can visit in a small vacation, or weekends. The beach is quite large, and good for various water sports, like surfing. Good picnic spot as well.

Keri Leeson

Love this beach, very clean and everyone is friendly. I've come here since I was a baby and now very happy my baby gets to experience it. I would love for playland and mini golf to come back.

Connie McIvor

It was a beautiful time spent with family.

Mark24XX

Nicest beach in Manitoba! The sand is so nice it feels like you are on a resort down south. There was a pretty bad algae problem when we were there but they have been having algae problems all over Manitoba this year. Definitely worth checking out. It is a park tho so you do have to pay to get a park pass.

Gin BooBoo

Stunning views! Beautiful soft white sand! Plenty of lakeside shops!

Darlene Searles

Wonderful day at the beach. Great family day. Very popular place

jose alexander Alfaro

The beach is big and beautiful with big parking lots but it have a huge problem that we couldn't avoid wherever we are going for a walk or swimming:the smell and the color of the water in the lake is something that the authorities have to look at it as soon as they can.

Everett Sass

It's a bit of a drive from Winnipeg, but definitely the nicest beaches in the province. The sand is smooth with no rocks, and the water gets deep really slowly which is great for walking in or playing games in. It's definitely worth the drive.

Jessica Hiebert

Nice place with great sand however is a popular beach so it tends to be crowded.
