As you know, we do not usually bother to give evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Park is classified in the category of State park.
This was my first time camping and I was very nervous, I stayed on Song Bay and the camp ground was clean and pretty private! The beach is amazing and it was a great experience! (Besides the weather to begin our journey...) Come here when you can!! Best place to camp!
A peaceful getaway with a variety of activities all year round, only 10 minutes from the city.
Great for people of all walks of life. Beach, hiking, biking, blading, camping, and close to city.
Was alot of fun till they upped the price on the entrance toll, from $5 to $9.50 which I am glad to pay for the upkeep and maintenance of the beautiful park, but should be $9.50 for atleast the whole summer or good for say 3 entrances. Most people that do come here at the most maybe comes in once or maybe at the most 3 times during summer. But for $9.50 per day per entrance thats too much. A park is suppose to be for the community something to give back not really something to make money on. If they need more money for upkeep find it somewhere else from taxes. Look at New York they've got central park and there's no entrance fee, its for something to give back to the community.
Visited to watch the Dressage Winnipeg show. They have a nice equestrian center and the grounds manager is awesome. He took the time to tell us all about the park and trails. We will definitely visit this park in the future and recommend it to others!
This is a Canadian park so it should say provincial not state
Fantastic park, large, private camping bays, free WiFi, all sorts of trails including long, smooth, paved trails for roller blading, biking etc. Daily guided activities, great beach, store and pizza/ice cream shop. Ridiculously cheap - what more do you want!
It's a nice little beach to go to that's a short drive from the city if you don't plan on making a whole day out of it. Two different accesses to the beach with plenty of parking. There's a concession to order food from and bathrooms nearby. The kids enjoy themselves so thats good enough for us.
Beautiful place for a swim or a hike
Great park lots of room will stay again.
Great place to camp and lots of room. Problem is the Bathrooms are disgusting and are not sanitary. They should be pulling in enough money to at least clean properly and update the facilities.
Best convenient camping close to Winnipeg. Very scenic, water is clean compared to other locations. Camping is relatively priced only downside is there’s no seasonal sites available but I will not reduce one star for such a small thing! There is fishing, hiking, horseback riding, bike trails everything you could ever want.
Ride the bike trails there often. Trail at Oak Ridge are well established and more often than not in excellent shape both winter and summer. Lots of other options in the park between 2 sandy beaches, camping, hiking etc.
Always worth the visit whatever the time of year. It is the perfect day away from the city to walk, bike, rollerblade, ski or swim. Take a picnic. Never crowded. Nearby is the classy Pine Ridge Hollow if you want to end the day with fine dining out.
On one of our days during our seven night stay we rented a 4 wheeled, 7 passenger peddle bike. The bike had 4 low air pressures tires which made it almost impossible to peddle. By the time we turned around to exchange the bike with one with pumped tires, one of the rear tires went flat. We got back and exchanged the bike for another one. We road for about 10 minutes and one of the peddles fell off. So we returned it and said that were done with these unmaintained bikes. My grand children by this time had lost intrest in these family activity. When we returned the young fellow was trying to pump air in the tire of the first bike that we had returned earlier and had road on the flat tire for about 5 minutes. We were charged almost $40.00 for this awful experience and was not even offered an apology. P.S. the park is beautiful and the full service site are very nice.
Great place for all ages and fitness levels to explore nature and have fun. Trails are usually well groomed with the occasional bench to rest on. Activities include swimming, hiking, horseback riding and much more. Check out the old homesteads on the South side of the park, or go camping at a very reasonable rate in the well equipped campground. Entrance fees to the park: $5 daily, $40 seasonal.
Biking and hiking trails are really good. Just wish there was more of them
Huge park with great trails and beach. Campsites were large but in an odd layout. If you need Wi-Fi, it is barely usable and only available right outside the park store. But don't go to a campground and work if you can help it.
Loads to do here. Go hiking, biking, rollerskating, etc. Loads of paths to wander (asphalt and gravel varieties). There's a ranch if you want to go for riding lessons or even a hay ride with your family. The beach is really nice. I recommend the east beach. Great place to go camping as well. Make sure u look around for a site as some have no coverage and others have a lot of coverage...some have electricity and plumbing, some don't.
A great place to spend some time with friends and family. Nice water, bikes and sandy beach!
A week before the May long weekend, or the calm before the storm, the park is looking good. The paths are cleaned of dog pop. At least the paths we visited. Park hold endless potential of summer fun. BHP in the spring is a great place for outdoor exploring with the kids.
Fantastic Family Picnic Point. 2 Beach Sides. Public Washrooms Available. Parking Available.
Beautiful place for spending summer days. Lovely beach for kids to play and adults to relax .
Ski trails were skied in..but reasonably maintained
Very beautiful and attractive tourist destination. Close to Winnipeg Manitoba just 20 minutes drive. Lots of parking space available. Very beautiful lake and surroundings area. Beautiful place for barbecue and picnic with family and friends. Must watch and visit.
Birds Hill Park is a wonderful piece of wilderness close to the city. We camp every year with Scouting and Folk Fest as well as a private group. . The water is potable and group sites excellent. I love the lake for swimming with kids.
Very nice park. Fire pits everywhere. Bike friendly. Dog friendly. Lots of trails and picknic tables. Man made lake so not sure why there's algae in the summer. In the winter the lake is drained. Trees are small oaks and birchs. Mostly sandy soil. Not very scenic but practical.
Nice place near to winnipeg city, man made lake is great for enjoying the water. It's a really amazing place for kids, as water is not as bad as the lakes and its shallow, so parents can enjoy the sun and just see the kids enjoying .
Awesome place to visit. Great and numerous little camp grounds or places to picnic, few playgrounds for the kids to enjoy, a man made lake (no water when I visited in the fall), and lots of walking and biking trails. You could easily blow a day here.
Great hikes. Choose a short woodsy one or a paved long one. Grab a map along the way.
Great place if you want a nice safe outdoor day
Tons of trails, and some nice hidden trails that bring you to some unique places.
Nice and close to home. Nice clean amenities. Lots of trails to hike or bike.
I rode my bike here and it's nice although a bit small
Birds Hill its a huge park full trails, bike trails and beaches to swim. You can visit year round
It's an a amazing place to camp and will sometimes film movies out there like flag day
Awesome camping, beautiful campground
Nice park, tends to be a little busy these days. Also dont appreciate the fire bans in the summertime otherwise nice big park to go walking in. Plus PineRidge Hollow is there????
This is a big beautiful Campground still close to the city it's a wonderful amenity for Winnipeggers. there are many sites for camping or just day picnics and there are washrooms and sheltered areas in many places. There are places that you can go horseback riding. it is also the site of the annual Folk Festival which draws tens of thousands of people for a huge Music Festival in July.
We cycle around Birds Hill Park. It's safe there. It pays to buy a yearly pass for $44 rather than paying $9 every time you go in.
Just a beautiful Provincial park about 15-20 minutes north outside of Winnipeg. Great little sandy beach, lots of trails to hike/bike, snack shop and playground at the beach. I've never camped here, so I can't speak to that, but a great spot for family day trips.
Great little spot to cool down. Close to the city. Water is fairly clean. Lots of walking/biking trails. A bit of Goose droppings, but that's nothing new to lakes in Canada.
Nice park with beach, close to the city, but the walk from the car to the parking lot can be difficult especially if you have lots of items to take for a picnic, you have to make multiple trips. If the park isn't too full you can get nice spots to set up closer to where you're parked but with Covid social distancing rules that might be a challenge
Pretty decent. Be a lot better when they rid the infestation... Mouthbreathers everywhere!
Always an amazing place to visit.... Summer or winter. Plenty of things to do and beautiful scenery to see in any season. We were just there and took a gorgeous hike down the Lakeview Trail and stopped to feed the birds. It's a an experience kids of all ages can enjoy, as well most adults and nature lovers.
Close to Winnipeg . Great showers in campgrounds. Nice camping spots. Nice staff.
Nice bike trails. And beach is nice.
A beautiful park, despite the abuse it takes from being so close to a large urban centre. Trails could use a bit more TLC, but are still great given the traffic they manage.
It was awesome! Took my kids. They had a blast as well. Little water beetles like to bite. But are of no harm. Minor nuisance, but worth it!
Went for a great 60min hike on Cedar Bog trail...great hike, moderate effort required, beautiful old growth Cedar's (generally rare in Manitoba) and ash, fur and pine. Lots of birds and a couple of benches to rest at the 1/3 & 2/3 points. Bugs & mosquitos were minimal for beginning of June. Smells of trees and grass were wonderful. Try it! 3.5km's good parking, trail has lots of roots, etc. Uneven surfaces, hidden gems along the way...????
Beach is alright. Always gotta watch for goose droppings. Park is fun to ride the bike through. Impossible to get a park pass there, so always need to remember to get it before you get there. 3 food stands right next to the beach this year, so kids loved it.
No washroom and they should asked if we want a different bay
One of my favourite local outdoor destinations. Excellent mountain bike trails at Bur Oak, a nice 10k loop for road cycling, lots of trails to hike and explore, an excellent restaurant, polo grounds and more.
A short drive to get away from the city. Lots of well marked and groomed trails. I would love to use one of the outdoor cooking group sites next fall! The chickadees and nuthatches are very friendly!
Birds Hill Provincial Park is a fun and great place for family and friends to share some great time together.
Winnipeg'ers are fortunate to have such a park so close to the city. Pull off almost anywhere for a private picnic on South or North Drive. Mountain bike through switchback single track on Burr Oak. Cruise the paved trail around the lake. Hang out at the beach, or book a horse ride at BHP Ranch.
Every time I come to this park( biking, swimming, photography etc) I leave saying that was amazing. Truly an exciting treat from city life. I can't say enough great things about this park.
Great place to make great memories!
Bird's Hill is the closest beach to Winnipeg, it has camping, hiking/biking trails as well. Gets pretty crowded on the nice days. Typically has a few lifeguards as well as food on either end of the beach. There is a couple volleyball nets as well. The public washroom is surprisingly well maintained.
One of my favorite places to come thats not too far from the city. Mountain biking, swimming, fishing, hiking etc.. in the summer and skiing in the winter.
The east beach is our favorite place to go here. You can usually find a spot in the shade to make lunch and watch the kids swim and play in the sand. They've expanded the beach and water too, so there's a ton of room.
Had a Smokie and poutine from Paradise Fries food truck... good for a light snack while at the beach.
One of the best parks located within 30 mins drive from Winnipeg. I usually go there in summer and for aurora watching in the winter.
Such a beautiful park! Great trails throughout.
Great place for hiking! HOT during summer so bring H2O.
Birds Hill park has so many things to do. Swimming at the beaches, hiking and bike trails.Horse back riding. Folk Fest in the summer. Activites for everyone. And camping. 20 min outside the city. Easy to get there.
Such a good place to walk with friends and dogs.
Great park to go when it's hot in the city and you want to take a dip or hang with friends and family. Clean, life guards on duty, quiet but make sure if you stay past 11pm, your car is outside of the gated areas. You can walk back in after.
Very neat and organized. Plenty of parking. We've been here multiple times and always we've had no complaints
We are from Ontario and this place puts Ontario provincial parks to shame. Great sites, store, laundry, trails, bike paths, Beach's.....and on and on
Birds hill is near to our dwelling place.we love to go to birds hill on summer days. A great place for kids n family to loiter, play and relax.
Great park! Easy walking trials, bike paths, group eating areas, modern washrooms and non modern, fire pits, some historical sites. Lots of wild flowers, great for camping or just a few hours
Very well groomed ski trails! Free entry for February is awesome!
I drive through this area often, as it just clears my mind from the stress that I have in my daily life. It really brings you back to nature. The scenery is absolutely worth it alone, and hikes and walks are much recommended too.
Love this park ..swimming is fun ..would love to explore it more in the future . Highly recommended
Love the trails and being in touch with nature. Beach and play areas keep the little ones busy all day! Clean, tons of open spaces to explore and never feels over crowded.
I have been visiting here a lot over this last couple months and I’ve had a great experience every time! Large beach, cute camping spots! What else could you need?
Beautiful park. Great biking/walking paths, as well as a nice beach area for swimming. My kids love the beach volleyball set up as well. We were a bit disappointed that the showers closed at 9pm when we were there. Not great when you want to shower AFTER the evening bonfire. Hopefully they change this before our next camping trip!
My fourth great grandfather is James Curtis Bird, HBC Chief Factor and his last son Dr. Curtis James Bird, the first Speaker of the House in Manitoba is my great uncle. I was finally able to visit this fantastic place in October. Well worth the visit. The fall scenery was incredible.
Pleasant summer morning. Went there with a takeout breakfast from A&W to meet with family overlooking the polo fields. (maintaining proper COVID social-distancing while sitting in our respective vehicles). Watched a couple members of the Springfield Polo Club exercising their four horses, liberally hosing them down and cooling them off before returning them to their trailer. Too bad it costs almost twice as much for a day pass ($9.50) if you want buy one online. Don't know if you can still purchase on at the gate for the regular $5.00 fee. There was a fairly long line at the West Gate when I was leaving around noon. I suspect they were purchasing the cheaper Day Pass. Only one lane open. Thanks to Pallister and preceding Conservative provincial governments for successive cuts to staffing and jacking up the price. The extra $4.50 for the online Day Pass is a processing fee by the company that the government hired to issue the pass, which you have to print out at home
Best place either you want to go one day picknick or you want enjoy nature biking. Lots of short and long hiking trails. I enjoy going to this place early spring & summer, you get to see green all around with beautiful flowers
This Provincial Park is great... a good place to see the Northern Lights when it comes close to Winnipeg.
Awesome trails and big beach. Always a favorite place of mine for the summer.
Beautiful place to hang out, have a fire, go for a walk.
It's pretty close to the city, compared to other beaches. When we got there, it was nicce, clean, and sunny. The small fast food restaurant is open till 7, if they have enough customers. They said they will close earlier if not many ppl are at the beach. You can play beach volleyball, and tennis, go for swimming, horse riding, bike riding, and so many other activities there.
Close to the city, beautiful private camping spots, great playgrounds for a the kids, good bikes kg paths for all levels of cyclists.
It was a really beautiful day there!
Great park, lots of things to do, nice beach.
The walking paths are great, so many to choose from!! When we visit Manitoba this is a definite stop.
Massive park with a great beach. And let's not forget about the Winnipeg Folk Festival! One of Canada's best music festivals.
Its beautiful, maybe I'm cheap but Id drive 15 more minutes to someplace free.
Great conditions today. Skied Chickadee and part of Esker. The tracks were clean, and there was plenty of wood stocked up for making a fire at the warming Shack!
I have visited the park numerous times this year. It has some nice trails accessible to families with strollers (large wheels recommended). The beach makes a nice resting spot.
A fantastic place to visit and explore. The bathrooms in the group use area are very poor, no mirrors, no hand towels and no working driers. The shelter is also very outdated and dilapidated. Signage needs to be improved on the entire park. All this aside we love it still and will be back.
Went cycling on some single track, trail (Lavender) was in excellent shape. Such a beautiful well maintained park. Also recently biked the Bur Oak trail (pictured) and that was in great shape too.
Birds Hill Park has always been a beautiful park, well maintained, lots of beautiful hiking trails and bike trails. Good snowmobiling in the winter. Enjoyable cruise around the park. Lots of other sites and activities.
Nice park to visit without having to go very far.
A great place close to Wpg for a hike, beach day or camping trip. Great trails for all different skill levels.
Its very pretty. Lots of fun stuff to do. 10/10 would visit again. Just wish people wouldn't litter. Found like 4 aluminum cans at our fire pit when there was a garbage bin not more than 10 steps away.
Went there sometime back and loved the peace and quiet with extremely few people around. The greenery is medicine to the eyes. Hope to be back when it's buzzing with events!
Great park for kids and full family day fun with lot of natural space to explore !!
Kids will love the place. A must visit family place nearest to the Winnipeg city.
Nature, nature and more nature !!! Walking and cycling at August and was amazing. There is a beach area too if you want. Really relaxing place.
Love skiing Chickadee Trail. The trails are well groomed. Also wish there was better signage so that people would stop using it as a walking path. (update: they have added better signage and also a $600 fine warning if you walk your dog on the ski trails!) Fairly large parking area at the trailhead but can be full so additional parking a ways down the road as well. And in early July the park is flooded with 1000's Winnipeg Folk Fest attendees. Love the laid back, everyone-is-your-friend atmosphere and the music. It's an amazing out door setting. It's hard to get close to the front of most stages and it's lost its quaint small fest feel....a victim of it's own success. But if you don't mind paying the price and you don't mind crowds, its something you should experience. (if you found this helpful click "like"!)
Water can be a little gross at times, but for the most people, decent beach, beautiful trails, and quick commute from the city
Beautiful place to hang out with family and friends. Make sure to take your own food along with you. The lake is beautiful, clear and clean water. Take extra clothes and towels with you as the water may tempt you to jump in. Kids had fun, played beach volleyball as well. Enjoy the place but make sure to clean before you leave .
Fun for the whole family, dogs are welcome on a leash, but not on the beach sand or in the water(grass and picnic area are okay). They also have a play structure on the west beach. Water is shallow for a good ways out so it's less scary then a lake with waves and such. Beach is clean and water pretty much always passes water testing.
Fantastic afternoon of peaceful walking through snow-covered woods. Kids loved feeding the chickadees! #cedarbogtrail
Nice place to go with friends. It's close to the city.
Very lovely beach to spend the whole day. The water is clear
Super close to Winnipeg and personally I like the sand here way more than the fine powdery sand up north at grand beach. Plus the staff working at the two food places on the beach are all very nice and considerate about my allergies. Quick to check ingredients for me and never make me feel like I’m annoying them. One guy even remembered from one week to the next about my allergy and when I asked if they had a certain popsicle in stock, was able to say “we ran out of that one and the only other non dairy ones are these” which I found really impressive that I didn’t have to remind them.
Beautiful in the fall, great for pictures. lots of walking trails, and in the winter the cress country ski trails are very well maintained. The swimming area can get crowded in the summertime, though.
Great family friendly park. Lots of play structures around the beach. Nice walking path. Stayed at the campground, which hasn't really changed in 25+ years.
Great park for activities year around. Can get quite busy in the summer, so if you want campgrounds book early!!
Can't go wrong at BHP. Great trails and camping and beach. Something for everyone and so convenient to get to
The park is worth visiting but the campground needs improvement.
Good local place for camping and swimming and also to come for the day
Nice park. Great place to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon. I'd give it 5 stars if they kept the washrooms open.
Nice place for a summer walk or exercise, winter is not bad.
One of the few places I still see lady slippers!!! And if that's not enough : Tons of space to find your own tranquil spot or keep to the main trails and you'll meet tons of cool friendly people and animals. They have food incase your hungry, beach to cool off, bike/hiking trails and so much more. Perfect way to spend your day and go home tired from all the fresh air.
Lots of space, shade, picnic tables, grass and beach! And the water was nice! Love the accessibility mats as well! (for strollers, wheelchairs etc.) Also has concessions ????
Close to the city, lots of parking, decent beach, it's a good alternative to driving to the lake.
Great hiking trails all year around.
We love birds hill as a quick trip to the beach. A great playground for the kids to play on, ice cream house and the water is usually decent. Only downside is the food truck closes early and there's sometimes a lot of goose poop
I love this park...it is a perfect place to all family....all kind of activities...
Very nice campground, had a nice private site on chipping bay. Quiet campground considering how large it is
A diamond in the rough! One of Manitoba's best kept secrets. Bike trails and hiking trails are next to none.
Very pretty park. They have nice trails. We visited the little man made lake. The beach is nice, lots of sand for the kiddos to play in. They even have a nice playground right on the edge of the beach. There are lifeguard. Also washrooms. They even have a place where you can buy food. It's a nice place to spend a day with the family.
15min drive from north perimeter on Hwy 59. There are trails to walk or bike ride. The beach or man made watering hole is great for kids under 12. That said it's best to check the water quality a.k.a ecoli count prior to going. It's fairly busy with families as they have restrooms, concessions, and two play structures that are great for kids. There is plenty of grass/shade to lounge.
Lovely place. Very peaceful park with lots of space and benches. Including spots for bonfires and picnics.
Wonderful little beach and not far from the city.. food hut and rentals for bikes ????????
So many fantastic, peaceful trails for hiking with the pup.
It was kind of gross going into the bathroom barefoot and the floor being all wet. It was early in the morning and I was one of the first people there that day. The water was very shallow. It came to a point where I thought it would go deeper but I could still stand. It's strange but great for kids! I would assume that there are other beaches and areas to go boating or kayaking but dont quote me on that.
I take my dog here in the summer every Saturday and Sunday. Beautiful park with lots of trails to walk and wide variety of birds to watch as well. Lots of washrooms and very dated bbq areas. The beach is very nice in the early months of spring/summer. Now to the dislike stuff. Garbage is everywhere in this park. And the beach can be groomed alot better as well. More enforcement of litter bylaws may help this issue as well as more clean up staff.
Love the trails that run through the pine trees!
Beautiful provincial Park close to Winnipeg. Nice little lake for kids to swim in, and the Winnipeg folk festival that takes place every year in early July is something to go to. Lots of amazing musicians from all over the world.
Birds Hill Park is a beautiful place to walk briskly with family and peers during the warm seasons. If you are new to the park, I suggest going to the Lakeview trail since it has a cemented path and good viewing spots of the entirety of the beach and the nature it provides. There are also, various self-guiding trails in which a mountain bike would be essential to use or even hiking would be great. This is because some trails are not cemented. I would also suggest bringing a lot of water for those types of trails. A good trail for beginners would be their Bluestem trail. It is around a 1–2-hour biking trail where you will encounter looming trees and a few beautiful hotspots. Also, take note of the map of different trails in Birds Hill Park to give you some familiarity with its trails. Nonetheless, a 20-to-30-minute drive from Winnipeg to Birds Hill Park is a good place to spend time with people you hang out with. Just do not forget about the entrance fee or Park pass just in case!
It's a decent park, good walking and biking trails. Would be much nicer if they had some internal convenience store/bar/inn, especially for visitors out of province/country. Also having a regular maintenance schedule for cleaning/sanitizing all washrooms would be a large benefit.
Met a few family for an outdoor hot dog roast and gathering. Birds Hill Park is a true gem. Many interesting walking trails. Lots of activity.
Wonderful weather for a sleigh ride today, two majestic horses pulling a hay covered sleigh on a nicely groomed trail. Nice clean facilities at the ranch. Kids and adults had a fun time. We will definitely come for another ride!
Best place to be on a weekend. It's the nearest escape from the city for a quick family outing.
Had a great time at the beach. Didn't want to get out of the water
Had a great time camping with the kids there very nicely kept and quiet when needed.
Clean sites , bathrooms were kept clean and sanitary nice beach and close to the city
Always go here. Awesome beach layout. But, if you like poutine.. .. this is the place to get some. The onion rings are pretty darn good too.
Definitely my favourite camping spot. The campsites are beautiful (although some campers before leave garbage, but not often) and the scenery on trails is wonderful. Lots to do here! Highly recommend!
Birdshill Park is 15 min from Winnipeg's North East corner. The park offers multiple activities. There are great on and off road bike trails, Hiking trails, Beach, Bike walks and roller blade paths. They also have a concession open during the summer months. It hosts one of the biggest entertainment events "Folk Festival" in the summer which is a world renouned event.
Great bluestem bike ride, lots of parking available at the trailhead. Beach was very busy, hard to find shade, but still able to physical distance
Beautiful hiking and bike trails.
Visiting from USA and this place is beautiful. Clean and many walking/biking paths. Close to Winnipeg. We hope to visit again soon!
Lots of unique trails to hike. Nice campground.
Love this place, always come here with the family. Best camp ground in manitoba.
Beautiful Provincial Park within 20 minutes of Winnipeg. Lots of hiking trails, swimming, horseback riding, picnic benches and fire pits. Home of the Winnipeg Folk Festival.
Amazing place, saw one of the best night sky views every. Never go there unless it's summer tho, it gets really really cold
The shelters are nice for family gatherings, but the firepits are a bit dilapidated. I thought that there would be more concern with this year being so dry. Some of the buildings roofs could use a bit of maintenance, but overall they work pretty well.
Good place to spend a day by trailing and playing.
It's close enough to the city to get there in under an hour from nearly anywhere inside the perimeter but it's far enough away that you feel like you've actually gone somewhere. Great hiking, very nice little man-made lake with a beach, an excellent restaurant, and very well-maintained campgrounds. What more could you ask for?
Best place for walking a biking getting in touch with nature without having to leave this city too far
Just a jump of 35 mins from the city. You can enjoy biking, hiking, and swimming at the beach. Many trails you can enjoy in the park, and for riders like me, enjoy a 14 Km ride at the Bluestem trail (highly recommended). And last but not the least, do indulge yourself with sumptuous food at the Pineridge Hollow Restaurant.
Been coming here to the second cook shelter. There is no more first one that’s just the way us locals knew the shacks back then during that era of the 80s. Spent a lot of time learning all the nature trails cedar bog, Burr Oak, chickadee, and all the snowmobile trails. On weekends I’d spend days learning the campground the Pine Ridge bicycle trail and all the little backroads the ministry had made. I seen Pope John Paul II Kenny Rogers Bryan Adams Steve Miller in this park. As kids we went in during folk festival time and collected empty beer bottles. Our parents would have to make multiple trips to get the empties home. My family has a memorial bench on the south drive closer to the East gate in memory of my father Albert.
Was really nice, not over crowded and everyone kept their distance. Beach sands were very clean.
Great place to take the kids for walking, biking, the beach, parks, camping, horseback riding or sleigh rides. All year around there is something to do.
Wild park feeling but close to the city. Well equipped and maintained. Recommended.
We walked the Chickadee Trail. Social Distancing was little effort as the trails are groomed and easy to walk. Bring birdfeed, lovely experience.
Nice park and great bike trails. The swimming is super for kids as it is only 3-4 feet at it's deepest point. Very nice and quiet campground.
Lovely place to go with the kids. Lots of amazing site seeing sites. Would love to go back. The beach is wonderful and the park for the kids is great. Really enjoyed my time here
Beautiful Beach .... Beautiful Park... Beautiful Bike and Roller Blade Paths....Beach Volleyball...Picknic Tables and Shaded Grass areas some with Fire????Pits ... Overnight Campground
Great time during a really hot week. Loved swimming and biking.
Bird's Hill was absolutely fantastic. I took my bike and rode around the park before I had a swim, and found my afternoon to be exactly what I needed. Great work to all involved!
Beautiful place and fantastic trails to explore
Nice spot this time! Great experience for the first camp of the year.
Well maintained. RV and camping bays are well laid out. The store has all your camping needs at slightly reasonable prices. When I was there the concession opened for 1 hour. (End of June) And I was on a walk so I missed the opportunity to try the food. I used to love RV camping here. Lots of full service spots. Clean washrooms.
Great camping weekend
How lucky we are to have a provincially protected park so close to Winnipeg! A generously-sized park with a nice mix of well-maintained campsites, hiking and cycling trails of varying difficulty and length, naturalized areas large enough to support wildlife, a clean man-made beach and swimming area, a horse ranch with trail rides, and all convenient and accessible. A beautiful mix of prairie, woodland, and glacial deposits.
One of my favourite places is West Beach, very clean beach, please carry your food if you need as it is not available right now after Covid. ????????????
Lots to do! Great hikes, walks, trails, cycling, rollerblading, swimming, playgrounds, bbq areas, beach, camping and more! All close to Winnipeg!
Love this park! Great camping experience. Beautiful.
$9.50 day pass or 3 day pass $16.50 which you can purchase at the main entrance off Hwy.59 at office or but yearly for $44 50 . Park was clean sand smooth & well kept, lots of visible life guards . Water looked clean as well . Perfect close by beach ???? get away for an afternoon.
Had a great short walk on the numeg trail. Some of the trail is closed at the moment, but the cabin at halfway was a nice quiet reststop.
Actually its spring when I visit that place.I think in summer it will be awesome......
Every time I drive through this park I wonder why I’m not there more often. It’s such a beautiful place that makes you feel like you are hours away from city, yet it’s only 10min away from Winnipeg. And while you’re there you can enjoy a really good meal at Pineridge Hollow Restaurant.
Beautiful early winter day stroll. The Chickedee trail is great for young children. Bring some bird seed and a sled - it will be well worth your time. And can easily be enjoyed with social distancing in mind ????
Closest provincial park to Winnipeg which makes it ideal for a quick event. Spend just as much time here in the summer and winter. Hiking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, tobogganing, and sleigh rides in the winter. Biking, hiking, beaching, and camping (great group sites) in the summer. Plus if you forgot something at home you can just go get it.
Great park with lots of options for hiking, road and mountain biking and even horseback riding. Lots of multiuse areas for group picnics. Campground sites are well kept. Make sure to have a provincial park pass when visiting.
Great place to go for a Sunday stroll with the family.
Love this park. So many trails to hike, all different lengths/difficulties. So many beautiful spots and always a friendly chickadee to brighten your day.
This Park is amazing. You can do a lot of activities like biking, skating, walking, swimming, family gathering, etc. If you haven't been here, you're missing out. Good spot for hunting Aurora Borealis.
It is a great Gem in the Springfield area although people need to be much more diligent in throwing out thier garbage. There are garbage and recycling bins very handy everywhere. Why they choose to litter this beautiful park is beyond irresponsible!
I love that they have lifejackets available for use for children and adults for free! There are play structures swings, bathrooms, you can buy food, great for biking, jogging. There are some areas near the beach that are shaded but they can go fast. Lots of parking.
Always a great time with family friends and that special someone new...or your other half.
Great space just north of Winnipeg on #59 or #206. Great trails, clean, good beach with fairly shallow water perfect for any age children. My daughter and I use it often for kayaking ( blow up only, beach side ) and the mountain bike trails.
Beautiful beach and park very close to the city.
Nice forested park in close proximity to Winnipeg with multiple walking and ski trails, seasonal lake for swimming and group sites for outdoors activities
I actually really enjoyed my 3 day camping trip at Birds Hill Park in September! It was easy to find our spot and the bathrooms were easily marked too. The showers were a little hard to find and I was a bit disappointed to learn they were pay showers but you get 6 minutes for $2.00 and it was enough time for me. This was my 18 month olds first camping trip and he enjoyed it just as much as me! I wish the store offered more as there wasn't really anything worth purchasing. When your tenting and have a camp stove, how are you supposed to make frozen pizza? Lol. I also wish the 2 petting zoo's were better marked or had easier directions to get too. I was only able to find 1 of them and had a hard time finding the beach as well. I will say, I booked a stop for the first week of school so I basically had the bay all to myself. I am not sure how this park feels when more sites are booked but I really I enjoyed the quiet and privacy with less people.
Love feeding the Chickadees, a deer just walked out of the woods in front of me and walked down the trail! Awesome place, great to take the kids!
This is our absolute favorite place to go camping. The sites are clean and there are lots of private sites available. There are lots of paved paths for biking and the beach is clean and fun. The local store has most things that you need if you run out of anything. I highly recommend coming here for camping or even just a day trip.
Wonderfully constructed pathways that make for the most enjoyable times. Make sure to give the lifeguards a 2 meter high five when you see them cause they rock!
Our camp site was more private than some others, however campers before us left the site a mess and threw garbage inside the tree line. Had a noisy night during our three night stay. Bathrooms could be cleaned more than twice a day easy for the amount of people at the surrounding sites.
Pine Ridge hollow is a very nice place. Near the golf course and there is a restaurant and store that also sells furniture. Has a dining room up and down stairs a verandah and outdoor patio. Outdoors large parking area and plants for sale and some goats chickens and a pig in enclosed fence. They grow their herbs their for their meals. They also have room for lovely outdoor wedding. Food is very good and our waitress was a very nice and helpful young woman.
nice view but try daytime if not for Aurora
Our site was huge! A basic site was great for tenting if you don't need electricity. Some of the other campers were a bit noisy, and it was a bit too far to walk to the beach, but after a short drive, the beach was nice. The store is nice and close and has most necessities. This is probably the nicest place to camp within 20 minutes of the city of Winnipeg.
Lovely park that's not to far from the city amenities. Great easy trails with some birds and squirrels to keep you company.
The park has a few hiking trails, the beach is nice, 2 concessions at the beach and change rooms, lots of parking. There is the awest Beach and the East beach. Lots of parking at both. The campsites are ok... we booked a couple sites last weekend and it was really open, no privacy from othersites, but decent group sites for booking
If you're from winnipeg you already about this park. If you're not from winnipeg this is a close and beautiful place for hiking or walking amongst a large variety of outdoor activities
Always an awesome place with something to do for every season. Great groomed x country ski trails when the conditions permit.
I always enjoy my time here. From swimming to bon fires while camping. Why I gave 4 was because they do not around when camping when people are loud. 1 am and massive base and music somewhere in the camp and was going on for hours at that point.
Beware of the wasp nest in the outhouse! Bathrooms are locked ????????♀️ And bring your own hand sanitizer. None available:( On the up side, the trails are smooth and the September sun is lovely!
Excellent campground, showered, laundry facilities.
Enjoyed 4 days of music at the annual Winnipeg Folk Festival in the park. One of the best weekends of my life and I spent all of it in the park and campground.
Very large beach and grassed partially treed area. Has a few concession stands. Great place to enjoy the beach 40 minutes out of winnipeg
The entire inside circle of the park is a lovely 11km of smooth asphalt for running or cycling while the more scenic and hilly beach path is just over 5km around. Both are perfect for a leisurely day trip or for the more advanced runners/cyclists.
Until now, I have never been camping before in my life; it just seemed like something fun to try with the grandchildren this summer. We live in Winnipeg so chose Birds Hill because it’s close. We went twice, for 2 nights each time, once in mid-July and again on the September long weekend. In July we booked a site on Lark Bay because it has electricity. The sites on Lark Bay have gravel driveways and are surrounded by bush, which is full of poison ivy. We found it difficult get tent pegs into the ground because there was very little grass at the end of the gravel driveway, and the back of our tents were right up against the bush. I think these sites would be better for trailers. Also, our grandchildren had little space to play and couldn’t throw a frisbee or ball without risking hitting it into the bush, where it would be irretrievable due to the poison ivy. Most of the sites on this bay are fairly private because of the surrounding bush and might be better suited to couples who want a romantic getaway. We were handy to the modern washroom, located right in the middle of the bay. The campground was quiet, and we enjoyed our time, but decided to look for a different site for our next trip.
This park is a real gem for those who want to visit a provincial park that's close by - only 26 km (26 min drive) from Winnipeg City Centre. This past weekend we walked the Cedar Bog Trail. (3.5 km, allow 1 1/2 hours - from brochure) It winds through Aspen/Oak Parkland and Grassland before descending down into the Cedar Bog area - so many cedars to see! We plan to explore more trails but the Cedar Bog Trail is definitely one of our favorites.
The beach was very nice mask use and social distancing was a little hit and miss
Great Campground very nice people and very affordable place can't stress that enough affordable place you definitely get your bang for your buck at this Campground, the park is so large you can't run out of things to do and there's so much to do out there I suggest you go down and see for yourself
I love the campground. We stay there every year. Amazing walking paths. Close to the beach. Close to the city. Very clean and well taken care of.
We had fun yeah. The beach is awesome. At the east beach there is a playground for kids. We enjoyed ourselves. It's a great place to visit and kids love it
It's a very good place to spend a day! We always go there for a day on May long weekend and the last 3 years the public washroom in that area has not been accessible!! It apparently has mold in it, can't that be fixed?? This is a Provincial Park after all???? No hand sanitizer in the outhouses either.
Clean beach and facilities. This beach fills up during prime time so get there early. This beach can get very busy.
By far my favourite place to take the dog for a walk. Plenty of trails, some are short and some are a decent hike. Beautiful scenery, especially in the fall months. Mountain bike trails, a beach, fishing ponds, campground, skidoo trails, etc. A very diverse park. Just make sure you have your park pass (or pay for a day pass in the summer) if you don't want a ticket.
The beach was clean, lifeguards all around, the bathrooms were being cleaned frequently. It was a very enjoyable time out at the park and beach.
Lots of people. The lake is small, the water is not very clean. I would recommend to install additional Change rooms for that many people.
Great place for a walk and such a short drive from the city.
Serene environment for a quiet and peaceful relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
First day at a beach in several years. Was also super nice out that day, water was perfect temperature. $40 for the season pass so can't wait to make use of that this summer & spend more days relaxing like that away from the city for awhile.
We had a great beach day and the water is so clean and clear
Beautiful place. Nice beaches, good biking/rollerblading paths! Lots of places to picnic!
Washroom and showers were immaculate. Courteous staff. The properties were beautifully kept. The site was really cool. Full hook up, easy access. Showers are a bit of a hike. A bike would be helpful
Birds Hill Park is a great place to relax not far from Winnipeg. Nice hiking trails and good camping spots. Lovely restaurant called Pine Ridge Hollow close to the camp sites. Great food and atmosphere.
Extremely nice walking trails. Some horse riding and mountain biking trails. Beach area is well maintained but often crowded.
Park is better when less people use it at the same time. We went on August long. You don't want to camp near the entrance to campground if you are seeking quiet night sleep. Traffic is high and even at night. Security says it was a busy night for them in these bays for noise issues and other. Great for showers, pet friendly and family friendly. Trails are in abundance.
Absolutely Love Birds Hill, it's our second Home!! Our favorite place to be with Family and friends ,always making memories !! Precious moments. ❤
Nimowin trail is perfect this time of year for a family walk.
Water was nice, park patrol on alert at all times, patrons well mannered even 4 legged ones
A great place near Winnipeg to go biking, swimming or hiking for the day. If you don't want to drive too far.
Great place for camping hiking and biking. Pizza delivery to your campsite
Great place to swim or camp or do outdoor stuff. Still close enough to Winnipeg!
Decent beach, not busy before noon. Good parking access
Beautiful touch of the outdoors close to the city... lots of trails for hiking, biking or roller blading. Nice beach area. Many multi use areas that can be booked for large group events. Also the yearly folk festival. A little jewel that many still need to discover.
Great location and good trails to walk or cycle, however does not seem to be ANY MAINTENANCE FOR THE PAST MONTH IVE BEEN VISITING. Garbage cans are overflowing, the washrooms are disgusting and people are audibly complaining about how dirty the place is. Haven't seen ANY maintenance crew or parks workers at all so not surprised any of this is being fixed.
Awesome place to train for cyclist. For both trails and road biking.
Beautiful park. We were in Tree Bay and it was so easy to pull our RV up to. Nice walk around the lake in the morning.
It is a beautiful park, the campgrounds are well maintained and there are plenty of trails and activities at the beach
From a “I go at night to look at the stars” pov- really nice. It’s far enough away from the city that you can enjoy what night brings. Lots of areas to safely pull over in case you want to grab some photos here and there. Also really nice clearings to watch the auroras
The Park is partially closed for the season but there are still nice trails for walking and cycling. Fresh air and gorgeous colors on the trees. We also found some washrooms that were still open.
Great trails, one is paved and fairly wide so it's easy to pass others. I appreciate the expansion they did recently to the beach. Never have issues with parking. Water is ok but not the cleanest looking.
Have always enjoyed the park, rented a family use area for the day. Barbecues in the pavilions are showing their age, old and cracked, missing racks, been over heated. Beach is nice and clean, usually lifeguards around till 8.
Great nature trails for walking and cross country skiing tables and fire pits for family outings
Camped a few time in Birds Hill last summer . Loved it Beautiful Park, great cycling trails , busy beach area. Campground has a lot of different types of camping available from open area no services, to cosy fully treed campsites with power and water.Would diffinatly go back. Lark or Song bays are beautiful.
Nice campgrounds, beach is pretty wicked for a man-made location Great place for the family or friends to hang out n enjoy
I love coming here eithee for a walk, bike ride, or for a swim.
Fantastic socially distanced fun! Beautiful scenery, trails, plus other humans and furry friends to say hi to. Highly recommend the experience.
An issue with all Provincial parks is getting the park pass. Once that (less convenient process than before) is out of the way the park overall is a good experience for active people/families whether camping in the summer or as day use during the year Camping Located close to Winnipeg as young families (with one stay at home parent) we camped with friends and working spouses commuted work days. Unless there are special events camp unserviced sites are generally available - others often get reserved quickly the set day reservations open. The experience has sdvantages and disadvantages compared with the other parks. The man made lake remains boasts little natural beauty but remains relatively clean (former quarry that is spring fed?) and has a decent "lifeguard" crew but the limitations are due to the small size and location. It is a bit of a hike for the elderly and families with young children so a wagon, trailered bike or car ride in are considerations. A local store is basic but handy. Good access to usually clean washrooms. Paid showers near store look/feel Soviet era cold concrete... Activities Swimming laps can be challenging at busy times and canoeing/kayaking or really any separate floating devices are not permitted. Not certain if fishing is decent or even available in the "back waters" - I haven't paid close attention. Road cycling/running/hiking/inline skating/assisted vehicles. The oval road loops the park and is mostly flat and straight but the decently wide shoulder is an assuring buffer from 60 km max roadway. A few dedicated paved paths are more winding and have more elevation changes but due to popularity have speed limitations due to sometimes slower cyclists and meandering pedestrians. Skate skiers have access to the group use roads and a few other strips - good for a workout but a mostly flat road turned track - I found mostly well groomed. Gravel/mountain bikes and classic skiers have additional options with good access to many well maintained dedicated paths that wind up and down in the park. In rain some spots can get wet but the sandy loam never accumulates like the close by Red River gumbo. In that sense trails are all weather. In winter most paths have double groomed lanes so faster skiers can easily mix it up with the slower. Burr Oak is a decent crosscountry mountain bike trail that has a few very tame technical bits and mostly flowing, sometimes rooted trails that can be enjoyable for novice and experienced riders alike. With the bike/pedestrian bridge over Hwy 59 there are good access points to the floodway paths north and south. I experienced few encounters with large wildlife except deer although I have heard of coyote, wolf, bear and even cougar activity but cannot comment about veracity of these claims. I have not attempted using park with persons that have severely restricted motion but because many surfaces are flat due to the prairie terrain this may be one of the most accessible Provincial parks.
Best place to hangout. Love the view and maintenance of the park.
Clean, plenty of lifeguards, not too many people, water not too deep, play yard. All at west beach ????
Nice spot for camping or a day trip.
Beautiful park with so much to do. There are bike paths, camping grounds and a large man made lake with fountains surrounded by beautiful grass and sand. There are plenty of well maintained bathroom facilities and clean paths. There are two massive parking lots beside the lake that are a short walk to the lake, allowing many many visitors. Great for a nice tan or a huge family party. Just remeber to clean up your garbage! Some large groups leave quite the mess which ruins the park
Always a good place to bring the fam jam or just yourself just a good time!!
Beautiful beach so close to the city. Not too mention all the other amazing parts of this Provincial park! The MTB trails are pretty awesome! And all the hiking trails are great!
Birds Hill is a favorite little get away that is super close to the city, but yet you feel so far away from the city !!! In this covid time yes people were social distancing ... except for the dummies I'll say that cannot read the sign at the washroom/ change room! MASKS REQUIRED ... a few went in with no masks ...those kind of people just frustrated the hell out of most of us NORMAL people that follow rules! They really need a covid officer at the washroom area to monitor ....other hopefully everyone enjoys their visit to this little family get away.. stay safe ...social distance and wear your mask ???? were required ????
Lovely place to go and explore. Some nice sites to relax at. Definitely found a nice place to reflect for myself.
Definitely a great place to spend a week or three ! I highly recommend birds hill provincial park. The staff were all pleasant and helpful if needed. You will love the beach ⛱
Great experience great day all around
A short distance from Winnipeg this is a great place to swim and camp. And a great place for volleyball and rollerblading as well.
Great park for camping, swimming, and numerous other activities. Close to the city but don't let that fool you in to thinking it is substandard camping. Some of the nicest camp spots in the province in my opinion. There are sites that will please any preferences you may have and you can browse the sites on line.
Can be very busy at the beach on the weekends, but it is a very nice little retreat that is not too far from the city if you want to spend the day, or even just to get away for a couple of hours.
Would be better if it had a better beach
Update Aug 2021 water quality issues Great for kids. Clean water. Playground and lifeguards. Lots of space and things to do.
The park is beautiful. Buildings need paint and signage needs to be improved.
Nice shaded campsite, very hot weekend and not supposed to take our pets for a swim. Nothing said at check in about where to keep pets cool. Our dog spent the hottest part of the day cooling off in our car with ac running.
Great campground. Large sites. Only negative is that washroom in our bay looking really rundown. Also surprised garbage cans not in cages. Lots garbage getting ripped open. I picked up once.
Lots of shared public space. Beaches well kept, same with bike paths.
It's an amezing place, I do my cycling there. People complaining about some smaller issues shouldn't forget that all those are created by people who visit there. So it's all of our duty to keep the park tidy. Highly recommended place for outdoor activities ,and family day outs.
Best place for a music fest. I'm sure it's be beautiful at other times of the year too.
Nice park to have a bbq, looks like is the place where winnipegers took their family photos. There is a lot of space to walk, and park. I was here in october and the beach it was almost dry, I am not sure if is like that on summer. Fall colors are great.
Lots of good trails, camping and a beach. Great spot for all 4 seasons on the year! Worth the provincial pass.
Great place to go to escape the city. Short drive to see wildlife, hike trails, sandy beaches and refreshing water
What a beautiful day to walk the trails. Birds eating out of the palm of your hand, deer prancing in the background. Perfect place to have an outdoor day.
Beautiful Park! Great trails! Great picnic areas! Great Park Staff! Year round fun for all ages. Close to Winnipeg.
Very nice place to relax but a bit too crowded on july 12/21 as covid restrictions were just lifted. Overall we really like the lake and the park.
Trails are slippery because of the warm weather. Wear proper footwear.
The cc ski trails were perfectly groomed this morning. The weather was amazing. I had a deer practically standing on the front of my skis when I came off the trail. This was a perfect day. This is a beautiful park all year round.
I feel safe here which is very important to me. Favorite place to run when I get a chance.
Very helpful staff great camp sites, just beware the signs may be up, but the showers, food and laundry area closes at 5pm..!!! When u come from out of province this would of been very helpful news to hear. Thank goodness Lockport is not that far way for a great meal.. all else was amazing had a great stay.
I love this place even more in winter. Walking the dogs around the trails in such beautiful surroundings is great - especially during the week when there are even less people around
Great sites, loved the trails. Granddaughter enjoyed the stay. A couple loud uncouth drunks next door at 15 grackle bay ( supposed to be a dry area) not good with small children. But fools such as that are everywhere. You can't fix stupid, they say. But the campground and park were great.
Great place to take the family to cool off. Safe waters great for young kids. Alot of lifeguards
Great winter walking trails and XC Ski trails are now groomed. Take birdseed and the Chicadees will land in your hand to feed. Lots of winter recreation activities available in the park.
Excellent place to visit on holidays with families. With several lakes the environment is quite enjoyable and tranquil.
It's a decent park nice and close to the city. $15 entry just to get into the park onto of camping is a little much though. If your going to pay to camp there, park admission should be included.
Awesome place to take a bike ride or nature hike, nice campground. Good place for kids
Love walking through this park! So beautiful Camping here is fun too. Not far from Winnipeg if you forget something at home!
We had a great time at Birds Hill Park. Well maintained and a great beach with lots to offer.
There're many breathtaking views, ideal places for the picnic with family.
We go for the hiking trails and the beach. Always a lot of fun.
It is absurd that they think it is okay to visit every camp site after 10pm. Imagine if a hotel did this? I don't think we should have to put up with that, we were a quiet group, we don't need park cops coming in and telling us it is a quiet night, you rent a campsite, it belongs to you if you are being respectful.
The beach was well maintained and it was very nice out when we were there, it was busy but people seemed to keep their distance. I would suggest bringing a mask as you need one to use the restroom as well if you need to go to the site office. Every body is a beach body, so try and enjoy the sunshine ????.
Easy access affordable day passes trails were clean and well maintained. Close to home. Facilities at group use sites for use a few small repairs. Over all great place
Always nice here. Great people and you can bike to the beach
This is a great park, however DON’T go in September! Went today September 16, 2019 for a swim; like MANY others and there is NO water at the beach. There are no posted signs and nothing on their website or on facebook! Drove all that way with lunch and grandchildren for disappointment!
Even though the park was crazy busy, I managed to get on a trail without running into other people. It was nice, peaceful and the perfect escape to start my weekend!
Was warm and sunny perfect beach temperature. We had a 2lZ
Great place to camp when visiting the Winnipeg area.
Did two trails, Bur Oak and Cedar Bog. We quite enjoyed this visit. Hadn't been to the park in years.
Beautiful and so spacious, plenty of room to keep your distance from other groups!
Living 2 mins away from this beautiful park is amazing! Trails, beaches, wildlife, camping, and just exploring nature. What’s better than that!
The area and views are very nice, water is good but it's not very clean, you can make many activities here.
My review has to do with the fact I was trying to tell the park staff there where horses traveling on a non horse trail and no one listened to me. There was poop everywhere from the horses and flies as well Nimowin trail so I couldn’t enjoy the beautiful nature. Maybe the other trails are better but unless you like flies swarming your ears it’s not great I really hope they fix it but I won’t be going back to at least that trail for a bit.????
This park is huge! We stayed in Songs Bay. There are quite a few sections within the park. We had a very nice site. Most sites are private. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The park and bathrooms are kept clean. The only thing that I didn't like was that the showers are very very far away and you had to use tokens. I would visit this park again.
First time there, had my 2 granddaughters and we can't wait to go back again
First of all the people that worked there were help full and easy to deal with. Camp sites were clean and the beach was nice. There bike rental place was cool and had good selection. Great place to bring your family and friends for the day or weekend. The only down fall is it can get a little busy at the beach. If that is a down fall.
Great trails, washrooms. Concerts at times. Nice scenery. Lots of wildlife
the park is beautiful, the trails are well maintained, my only issue is its constantly busy
The park is just a 10 minute drive from the perimeter. Lots of great trails, Bur Oak is fully wheelchair accessible. Multiple beaches, camp ground, lots of places to picnic. Beautiful park! Nice just for a quick drive through too. Did I mention the stables, small animal farm and multiple festivals?
Had a great time cross country skiing. Trails were in great shape.
I Didn't go to the camp ground or beach, I went fishing. Had to walk 20 minutes to the "stocked lake" which was more like a swamp, it was maybe 3 feet deep and had absolutely no fish in it.
Great campground. Clean, beach area, playgrounds, group areas. Good for families with kids.
Swimming is nice and you can find shaded areas to get out of the sun and away from people. The trails are also nice to get out into nature very quiet and peaceful. Love that it's so close to the city
It was great! Lots of trails to choose from. It's a family friendly park for all ages.
Great cross country ski trails
