Beast beach in Cape Breton if you like waves. Check the surf forecast and try to time your visit with big waves! Everyone loves kennington cove, where the pine trees meet the ocean. Dogs are allowed on a leash.

A nice picnic area in a historic park. The water might be good for swimming but the water is a bit tough as it is the North Atlantic ocean.

The Wolfe's Landing National Historic Site (Kennington Cove area) is adorned by two spectacular beaches. They are located along the Kennington Cove Road. The first beach, where James Wolfe landed in 1758, is Kennington Cove. The second beach found at the end of the road is called Anson's Cove. There are a limited number of parking spaces available at each beach. Popular during the warmest days of summer and fall, these unsupervised beaches offer rustic services such as outhouses and picnic tables. During the summer, special events are organized by a number of different groups and organizations. There may be special events that take place at the beaches where supervision of the beaches is provided. Rip tides are known to occur at the unsupervised beaches. Therefore, caution should be used at all times, especially when swimming. Users of the beaches and facilities do so at their own risk. Consumption of alcohol is not permitted in our unlicensed public places. When on our trails and beaches, please be responsible and join with us in caring for our environment. Take your garbage with you. Our wildlife will benefit from your good stewardship. Other visitors and our future generations will be thankful.

Really nice location. Strong rip currents, and the sand drops off quickly. It's beautiful, but there were so many horse flies that we didn't stay so long.

Still beautiful after all these years.

Great area for picnic. (complete with tables and 2 open fields.) There are two sandy beaches; each about a 10-15 minute stroll from end to end. The water crashing on rocks at the ends of the Beaches sounds great! There is are outhouse-style bathrooms at both beaches.

Oh man, this was one of the best beaches I've been to. The waves are big and so much fun. There is a freshwater brook at the one end with a tiny little lagoon. I was watching for movement and seen some little eels about 4" long. Kinda neat for this Berta boy. There is another beach a little further down but if you are eager to get in the water then this is the spot. There are washroom out here as well. IF YOU LIKED THE REVIEW, PLEASE, GIVE IT A LIKE. THANKS PEEPS!

Great spot for a picnic! There are 4 picnic tables in an open field with a path leading down to the beach. My kids really enjoyed playing in the brook that flows onto the beach. We didn’t go far into the water as there were multiple rip tide warnings. There is also a sign outlining the historical significance of the cove as a landing for the English for a siege on the Fortress. There is an outhouse as well.
