Its the perfect place for an afternoon walk. Go to the bridge and marvel at the height and the size of the thing. If you get lucky you might see a train go over.

There is a museum of sorts built in an old fort, a memorial of the legendary Fort Woopup which sold contraband goods, however the Mounties never found Fort Woopup as many believe it was made of wagons and scouts would alert the camp when the Mounties were coming and they would pack up and leave before they were found.

Well like any outdoor venue its subject to weather. Nicer weather means more people. For the most part everyone is quite pleasant. There's a nice network of paths so you can change it up for jogging or walking. The nature center is great for info and distracting the children's for a while. Lots of parking in various locations. Also when the fort is open they have ICECREAM!

We have really enjoyed walking around on the paved trail. Even though they recommend that traffic on the trail be one way counter clock wise. Nobody made mention when we inadvertently did the walk clockwise.... On our first walk. It is a quick walk of 2.5 km and is very easy.

History lessons available here. Excellent park featuring Fort Whoop Up, Helen Schuler Nature preserve situated on the site of the last major battle between the Blackfoot and Cree Nations in Canada. Well worth the time, very educational and informative. Very good walking trails and lots of parking. Easy access from downtown Lethbridge.

Nice natural area in the river bottom of Lethbridge. There is a great historic firt here to visit. From here there are pathes you can take on either side of the river. Eventually these paved pathes will take you onto dirt trails through some beautiful coulees. If you gi south along the path you can go for about 10 km to the College. If you head north you can go to penniquin ball diamonds then to Pavan park. About 15 km from your start point.

Was great, a nice peaceful area to take a walk around with beautiful scenery. We came across quite a few deer when we where down there. Bring some shoes that can get dirty if you want to go down to the river or take some unofficial trails.

The only Indian battles I've seen here are ones battling sobriety. They are generally losing that battle when roaming the park. Aside from that, this is a beautiful park with lots of nature. the bathroom had a lot of blood in it yesterday.. maybe there was an actual battle that I missed. Lots of parking available but I'd recommend securing your vehicle and get everyting out of sight, theft here is a problem. Good chance that if you left a bottle of hand sanitizer in plain view in your car, that you would have a broken window and no hand sanitizer left, once you return.

Love this park! So many trails and so many directions to choose from! Scenery is beautiful, even in the winter. My dog loves to trail walk with me, especially when we tackle the hills. Lots of benches if you need a break. It has a couple play spaces for the kiddos, a picnic area for warmer weather, plenty of waste cans and poop bags for the doggos if you don't bring your own. People are generally friendly, so are the dogs. Will be returning again and again.

Be prepared to be amazed ! We dropped here unknowingly, looking for bike paths that were family friendly. Ended up spending a lovely afternoon , skipping rocks at the river, taking photos under the famous bridge, and we even saw three deer gracefully passing by. What a lovely experience ! Public washrooms are available and tidy up. Picnic tables were in good condition, including fire rings .

This is a great park for all of your outdoor activities. Lots of paths with shade if you're looking at going for a run or a bikeride. Most of the area from what I seen is on leash for your dog unfortunately. They also offer wagon rides on the weekend by the interpretive center. Lots of nice views by the river which is also great to float down.

Nice bit of nature within Lethbridge great scenic views of nature. The train bridge spans this area and you can have great photos. There are numerous over look for your viewing pleasure. There is a fairly large playground for families and up the hill are a few fast-food restaurants if you want a quick bite.

This is a great location for picnics, walks in nature, and much more. It boasts playgrounds four children, and picnic Hut's available to rent for family, or work occasions. Right beside the river bottom, Indian battle park provides ample amounts of gorgeous scenery 2 enjoy during all seasons. There is even a museum and fort whoop-up that you can visit as well. All at the bottom of the coolest allows for remote nature getaway free of city noises I'm free from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

I only dislike the fact that I cant fish while Im there so that is why it wouldnt be my regular spot to hang out on the old man river because I have several favorites but the less driving the better.... unfortunately I have to drive a little further, my daughhter would disagree she loves it here and wants to come every day!

By far my favorite place to go longboarding. Extremely well maintained paths and scenery. Great place for walks, photography, and boarding! Can get a little crowded at times, so be mindful when boarding/biking to avoid other guests.

Beautiful river valley park! Large nature playground, lots of picnic sites, open and bookable picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, fire pits (wood provided), playgrounds, outdoor exercise equipment, lookouts, and plenty of paved, shale, and deer paths. Be sure to check out attractions like Fort Whoop Up and Helen Schuler Nature Centre during your visit. Large rocky beach is a nice spot to skip stones or take family photos with the bridge or in the mature cottonwood forest. Bathrooms with running water are also available throughout the park (some are only seasonally open). Great spot in close proximity to downtown to spend several hours outside!

One of the best places for walking in Lethbridge. Nestled in the valley: a variety of paths from paved to dirt. Many scenic views of the Old Man river, plus swimming in the river if you desire. Lots of parking lots to choose from. I walk my dogs here all the time.

Nice place to go on a walk and watch the sunset. You can fish the river or go tubing. Illegally climb and jump off the bridge. You could walk the train bridge but its very illegal and dangerous, you will get charged with trespassing at the very least.

Very informative. They have tour guides to talk about the history of the Fort. Old fashioned wagon rides pulled by Morgan horses and also a tour guide on the wagon. Great way to spend a day and learn about the history.

Great park! Bring a camera and cup of tea, pick a quiet spot at Sun up or sundown and you could see all kinds of cool things! Whitetail deer, Pheasants, Geese, porcupines, and Coyotes frequently make appearances if the park is quiet. Good luck!

I really enjoyed taking a walk under the bridge, checking out the cactus, and looking for snakes (but not finding any). It has access to the river and my kids enjoyed throwing rocks for a while.

Greatly enjoyed the horse and buggy ride . Unfortunately i dont remember the name of the buggy driver but she was so friendly and kind to us and our daughter. She got to ride up front and pet and brush Jackie the donkey and Silver the lil horse. The interpreter, Raven, was wonderful with her knowledge on the battlefield. All the staff were knowledgeable, so friendly and easy to talk to. Would definately go back!

Its a nice place for a nature walk in the city. They have paved paths and some back country dirt ones. The people at the nature center are always eager and helpful. I have never been in the fort though. Also not the forts original location
