Cottonwood Park is a great space to escape the city. Access is from a small parking lot off 60th Avenue West. There are no amenities in the park, and it requires about a 0.6 km walk from the coulee top into the river valley. There are shale trails leading from the parking lot down into the valley floor. One has a series of stairs that take you about half-way down, or a longer winding trail without stairs. Both trails converge and the trail continues to the valley floor. From there, there is an established loop to help you explore the flood plain and cottonwood forest. Dogs and bikes are not allowed in the park, and prairie rattlesnakes can be found here. SIgnage just off the parking lot provides information about the park and its inhabitants.

Allan Graff

A great nature spot, nice paths and great views.

Ross

Nice short hike, can take a small detour down to the river, no dogs allowed here though anywhere in this park.

(Translated) HERE is good scenery. You can swim and walk in Popson Park, but don't go straight to Lethbridge, go left on the entrance to Popson Park and take a look at the scenery from here. It's a really cool, heartbreaking place. Beware the rattlesnake... (Original) HERE is good scenery.
