We are SO lucky to have the country in the middle of our small city. Presently, the land is lush and green which will quickly disappear over June. The walk has stairs providing a safer way of getting up and down. The owners of the dogs are friendly, as are 99% of the dogs. Also, owners are much better now about cleaning up poop. There is always water available and poop bags. A little bit of heaven in todays environment.

This is an amazing place to either go hiking, walking, or for a stroll on any wheeled object (bicycle, scooter) I advise going with at least a friend or two as there is wildlife in the area. If you choose to be on foot. Great place to launch flotation device from. To go down the river a bit with. I recommend taking a day out there

Excellent place to walk your dog at. Very little traffic. Dog bags available as well as water. Rolling hills with steps built in for steeper climbs. Run it for a good exercise plan!

Laying in the river valley below the University, and laying along the river in a flood plane. Hidden Botterill Park a mysterious piece of art and architecture built by an unknown person for unknown reason; know as the "Red Rust Cathedral" or "The Thing". There is bizarre stories of people gathering at the Cathedral at night and an underground coal fire in the ground below.

The boat launch and parking lot at Botterill Bottom Park could use a bit of an update, but the area surrounding it to the South is beautiful, and lovely to visit, especially early in the morning or before dusk in the summer time. Noteworthy, indeed.

Love, love, LOVE the paths over in this area! We've been a few times and everytime I've been impressed with the cleanness as well as how quiet the paths are. Very quiet away from Whoop-up drive which is nice as well.

Well maintained trails lead to creeks & the Oldman River. This is a good place to see wildlife and you're likely to see a Kingfisher here in the summer. It's currently seeing high use due to the pandemic.

This is a really nice place to go for walks and enjoy nature. Take the time to walk around here. If you take your eyes off your phone, you will notice many species as you walk. You rarely can go down here without seeing deer, which can be fun for city folk. If you get lucky you may see wild turkey, porcupines (keep your distance) and snakes. Respect the wildlife, but get out and enjoy it.

Beautiful river valley park! This is a significant location where you will find the fresh water treatment plant, intake canal, and weir. Popular fishing spot and wildlife viewing area. Keep watch for pelicans, wandering garter snakes, yellow-bellied marmots, raccoons, deer, beaver, and muskrat (among many others). Gravel parking lot with boat launch. River Loop Trail offers great views of the University of Lethbridge and the coulees.
